I think its high time Nigerians start a campaign for Oby to bring back her husband ![]() #obybringbackyourhusband |
Obiageli Ezekwesili, leader of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, says the military has “triumphantly” announced the killing of Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram, on four occasions yet it hasn’t managed to rescue the abducted Chibok girls. On Tuesday, the military said an unprecedented and spectacular air raid “fatally wounded” Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram leader, in his shoulders. “Those Boko Haram terrorists commanders confirmed dead include Abubakar Mubi, Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman, amongst others, while their leader, the so-called ‘Abubakar Shekau’, is believed to be fatally wounded on his shoulders. Several other terrorists were also wounded,” Sani Kukasheka Usman, spokesman of the army, had said. But in a march to the presidential villa on Thursday, the BBOG movement said time had completely run out and a decisive action was needed to rescue the abducted girls. “Another key issue in the last 72 hours is the military’s announcement that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, was fatally wounded during air raids,” Ezekwesili said. “We want it on record that this is at least the fourth time the Nigerian state has triumphantly announced killing this fellow. “Today, day 864 since the abduction of our girls, time has completely run out. It is time to take decisive action and bring them home. No more delays.” She said the group could no longer sit and watch humanity debased. Yakubu Enoch, father of the abducted girl identified as Dorcas Yakubu, who spoke in a recent video clip released by the insurgents, lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari had refused to listen to the parents of the abducted girls. “The last time we came to the villa the way you even attended to us showed that you were frustrated; you were not happy with us. Are we not Nigerians or don’t you have a special interest in the girls?” Enoch asked. “As it happened to Chibok it can happen to any place. If Buhari feels he cannot work, please let him release us. Let him get down and give it to somebody.” https://www.thecable.ng/ezekwesili-army-has-killed-shekau-4-times-but-hasnt-rescued-chibok-girls |

Two pipelines belonging to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, were in the early hours of Friday blown up by gunmen suspected to be Niger Delta militants. Local community sources who confirmed the development, said about two pipelines operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company were blown up at about 2am. Although no militant group has openly claimed responsibility, local community sources however said a new militant group, Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, was behind the attack. Report equally revealed that a technical team of NPDC and security officials have been deployed to the area to prevent the spread of spilled crude to other communities. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a woman, simply identified as Asmau for stealing two children belonging to her employer and using them to beg for alms in Lagos state. Asmau, from the Fulani speaking part of the country, served as a housemaid to the mother of the two, simply identified as Hawau in the Ogere area of Ogun state, for a period of four months before kidnapping the children Amina, 6 and Rukayya, 7. Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, the mother of the kids narrated how the incident started. Hawau said Asmau had been living with her and assisting her with some domestic chores while being paid N400 or N500 daily. Hawau said, “During the Sallah holiday in July, I planned to send my daughters to their grandparents in Lagos for holiday and I invited her brother to come down to Ogun state to take her children to Lagos. “My brother came to pick them (Amina and Rukayya) but did not meet me and my children at home on Sallah day because we had gone to the Eid ground to pray. He did not wait for me as he left for Lagos. “When my children knew that he had come and gone they started crying, so Asmau used the opportunity and told me she was going to Lagos that day and that she will help me to take them to their grandparents, so, I agreed and asked the children to go with her. “After two days, I found out that the children were not at their grandparents’ house, I called the woman but her number was not connecting. I checked her at her house; I did not find her and my children. “I went round searching for them till I spent all what I had, yet I did not find them. “I then reported to the Sarkin Hausawa of Ogere Alhaji Abdullahi Saminaka, who organised a prayer and informed the people. Luckily for me, some days later, a woman came to the palace and told the Sarkin that she saw Asmau with my children begging in Ikorodu in Lagos state. “So, he (Sarkin) sent his men to go and bring them; one of them, called Ali told us that he found the children with the woman begging for alms in tattered clothes. We were also told that the woman removed their new sallah clothes and gave it to one woman, who was a food vendor, in exchange for food. “The children told us that the woman used to beat them if they cried or refused to go and beg for alms. She told people, while they went begging for alms that she is their mother,” Hawau added. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Abdulmajid Ali, who paraded the suspect at the police headquarters in Abeokuta, said Asmau was arrested with the help of the Sarkin Hausawa of the Ogere community few days after. He said she is presently in police custody and will be charged to court soon. http://dailypost.ng/2016/08/19/fulani-housemaid-kidnaps-employers-children-ogun-turns-beggars-lagos-photo/?utm_source=nnd&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=nnd

The Police have deployed mobile policemen to the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, venue of the planned protest by former bodyguards to President Muhammadu Buhari who participated during the campaigns. The Spokesperson of the group, Badiru Olabiyi Balogun, told reporters on Thursday, that his group will go ahead with the protest. He said, “Two truck loads of mobile policemen have been deployed to our office and that is our office. They said the instruction was that they should not allow us access to the office and that the people outside should not be allowed to go out. So, we are meeting there by 9:00 am this (Thursday) morning to disgrace them. The venue is APC Presidential Campaign Office in front of Unity Bank, CBD, Abuja.” Recall that the group had earlier issued a video documentary of their plights which went viral online. In the video some of the protesting bodyguards were embittered over their “exclusion” by those they described “cabals in the government.” They alleged that apart from the 20,000 they got on two occasions in January and February 2015, “we had never and were never given anything.” Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/08/buharis-bodyguards-police-clashes-abuja/ |

Like Mandela, like Nnamdi Kanu....... Dont listen to the hypocritical Nigerian press that will call Mandela a hero but turn around to condemn our own Kanu. |
allaboutobed:Why then are the authorities detaining an unarmed freedom fighter ![]() |
I created this post for those hypocrites that will quickly hail Nelson Mandela but will not waste time in condemning Nnamdi Kanu. They accuse Kanu of soliciting for arms to fight the government while exonerating Mandela of any violence agitation in South africa. |
Contrary to the reports from many angles that Mandela fought the apartheid government in South Africa with a non-violence approach, findings have shown that the reverse is the case. Nelson Mandela set up the African National Congress' armed wing, Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation), in 1961 when he lost hope that passive and non-violent resistance to the apartheid government would bear fruit. It was launched on December 16, the same day as the Afrikaners defeated the Zulus at the Battle of the Blood River 100 years earlier, not long after the massacre in Sharpeville of 69 unarmed protesters by the security police. With no military training himself, and in hiding from the government, Mr Mandela travelled abroad where he was offered financial and practical help by countries including Ethiopia and Algeria. Mr Mandela was adamant that MK, as the armed unit was called, would not kill people but its tactics would be aimed at sabotage. In his own words, the aim was to "hit back by all means within our power in defence of our people, our future and our freedom". On his return to South Africa, Mr Mandela and his colleagues set up regional command units and set about training their army in bomb making and clandestine operations. MK carried out numerous bombings during the next 20 years and the pledge not to kill became redundant – in the whole campaign, at least 63 people died and 483 people were injured. It was subsequently classified as a terrorist organisation by the South African government and the United States, and banned. The armed struggle would also have a very personal consequence for Mr Mandela: he was arrested for sabotage a year after MK's formation, and would spend the next 27 years in prison. Operations continued in his absence and among MK commanders was Jacob Zuma, now the South African president, but were suspended in August 1990 in preparation for the dismantling of apartheid and the birth of the Rainbow Nation. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/southafrica/8304153/Nelson-Mandelas-Spear-of-the-Nation-the-ANCs-armed-resistance.html |
