Under GEJ Nigeria economy was the largest in Africa , we forget that so soon , yes his administration was corrupt so is this current administration .. There was a global drop in oil prices that affected every oil producing nation as well so this is an external factor .. However if GEJ was still in power they would have mange it very well, u will agree with me that there was not a sharp rise in the exchange rate as we are seein today .. It was on a slow rise compare to this administration ..GEJ did not save , GEJ did not diversify but yet we neglect those little thing that can do damage to the economy .. Buhari came to power last year without a plan , there was no economic direction , no fiscal policy in place , he restricted sales and transactions in fx cos he wanted to fight corruption, why would he restrict fx when we have the bvn to checkmate money laundry,which investor will come and invest when he can't av acess to fx not to talk of sending out offshores, avnt we heard of companies and airlines leaving the country ,for months there was no govt in place couple with the volatile state of global economy , he was busy looking for texhnocrat travelin up and down and u think modern day economy waits for anyone .. ? Imagine America without a govt for days and see how it's economy will suffer or huge losses in Wall Street ... yes our economy was failin gradually Buhari would have hit the ground runnin after resuming office but he felt governace was like in the 80s

Now oil prices are low, regions should be gradually weaned from oil. Why not grant ND their request of more resource control? Have a frank talk with them, have a time line to gradually heed their request. 60-40 is not a bad deal. Regions pay 40% tax to federal account on natural resources, be it oil, coal, minerals etc.

Though you can't give them 60% suddenly, hunger may kill other regions off. That's why you need a frank talk with niger delta. Current 13% can be Instantly jacked up to 20%, and subsequently increased by 10% yearly until 60% mark is achieved. This will give other regions time to adjust and seek other sources of income. I'm sure our ND brothers will accept this term wholeheartedly.

At the end of four years, nobody will be dependent on ND oil. They can afford to either develop or impoverish their land. The whole South want restructuring. Yoruba, Igbo, SS. There is a need for a cabinet shake up. It is obvious Dalung does not understand his job description. The international shame that has trailed our participation in the Olympics is enough to dampen ones faith in the future of this country. I don't think any other nation participating in the Olympics has being in the news for the wrong reasons like Nigeria. Nothing seems to work here, not even a simple thing like getting a plane for our athletes. What is done seamlessly in other climes is always a hill for us to climb.

Emefiele is a joker and I hope he is reading this. He talks about diversification; how will diversification come to play when the interest rate in this country is extremely high. Currently only about 0.05% of the Nigerian population is creating jobs. Who is going to diversify the economy - Dangote Emefiele, in a recession, you reduce interest rate and not increase interest rate. You should put enormous pressure on Bank CEOs to start lending to start-ups. Enough of the currency trading and bond purchase practice of Banks, there should be real lending to support our economy. The profitability of Banks should be seen and felt in the economy. Banks should not grow without any economic growth.

I really don't know where we lost it as a nation , they talk of diversification like it's 24hrs tin .atleast the Cbn governor is trying wat of the minister of finance who only talks of how they release funds for capital projects yet we don't see anything ..
