I applaud Nigerians ingenuity in the renaming of cars. They are peculiar and easily find names that suit things. This our legendary ingenuity in more pronounced in the automobile industry where practically all cars have a local name given to it. In overseas, cars are identified by their model and brand names, but it is quite a different case here in Nigeria. In Nigeria, most cars are known by their localized name and very few identify these cars by their real brand and model name. Honda Accord 1999 model : "Honda Baby Boy" - Maybe because it was used in 2001 Tyrese Gibson and Snoop Dogg's movie titled "Baby Boy" Below are some cars with their Nigerian-given names.Most of the names just sound funny. I wonder how they came across all the names you are about to see. 1. Toyota camry 2003-2005 model : "Big for Nothing" or "Big Daddy" 2. Honda Accord 1994 model : "Honda Hala" 3. Honda Accord 1999 model : "Honda Baby Boy" - Maybe because it was used in 2001 Tyrese Gibson and Snoop Dogg's movie titled "Baby Boy" 4. I heard that she committed suicide because her boyfriend dumped her for her best friend. Though we all are emotional beings, but the above reason for the act doesn't worth it at all. Suicide is never the best way to solve a problem. Once there is life, there is hope. She committed suicide because she has lost hope simply because she put her hope in man. Man should hope in God who is the solid foundation, because when man fails, God remains the solid rock that can never fail. RIP. Nothing has been heard about this guy since his last album. Did he varnish from Nigeria music industry or what? After he dropped his debut album - Pray for me - in 2007 which sold up to a million copies, he disappeared. This song of his made people go gaga then, most especially in the eastern part on Nigeria. I got taunted to ask myself whether INEC is really ready for this election. First and foremost, on the issue of PVC. Up to a million people are yet to get their PVC coupled with issues regarding to non-indigens unable to get theirs in Lagos; Ogun getting theirs in batches rather than in bulk, etc. Not withstanding what have been going on about this PVC issue; how credible is the card reader? Have they been tested to know whether they are factory-error free because these gadgets are made with ICs, wires, and technically speaking, they are prone to malfunction. There is need for material inspection before the election. From logistics, the machine has been programmed to stop exactly 1 pm, and from calculations, you see that not more than three hundred voters would be attended to if it takes a minute to attend to a voter. What about polling centres with more than or up to three hundred voters? Will the voting be shifted to the next day? Has there been a proper training on how to handle the equipment so that things will move smoothly that day? Who knows? What would have happen if this election was not postponed? 20 million people wouldn't have voted. There are still rumours hovering that there are plans to postpone the elections AGAIN. In my humble views, Jega is a focused man as he fights for improvement over election rigging, and things of that sort. In as much as he wants to eliminate the electoral abuses and fraud in the past, and minimize rigging to the barest minimum through voting electronically that will secure a forensic evidence, it should be done as fast as possible in order to meet up with time. Due to the negligence, attitude and indifference of the masses, his plans may not be 100% effective. However, this contest should be to be equitable, and no region should be more important than the other. |

In reaction to the claim by All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation that Federal government have plans to implicate their presidential candidate with the fake Ibrahim Shekau, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state then told them to produce the original Shekau since they know the original. Below are his statements “up till today, the APC has not made any statement, commending our gallant soldiers that are laying down their lives to save Nigerians from the Boko Haram insurgents,” saying, “instead of commending the soldiers and encouraging them, what the APC are doing is to blackmail the military and one wonders why a party will want to take over power by supporting killing of innocent Nigerians.” “With the onslaught on the Boko Haram by our gallant soldiers, the APC appears to have lost the game of using the insurgency to campaign against President Goodluck Jonathan. “Instead of them to face this reality, they have come up with this criminal assertion that a fake leader of Boko Haram, Ibrahim Shekau, was being presented before Nigerians by the government, in order to claim winning the war on terrorism. “They are also claiming the fake Shekau might become a tool to blackmail members of the opposition, by coaching the phantom terror chief to say he was working for its presidential candidate, Buhari,, in order to link him to terrorism. “With this statement coming from the APC, it is clear that the party knows what we don’t know about Boko Haram. Today it is Mancity and Barcelona; the champions of England versus the formidable Barcelona. Statistically, Barcelona has this in their favour, they have progressed to the quarter-final for a straight 8 times and beating Mancity last session in the group of 16. Will this be the same this time around? Not really, Mancity are in good form after trashing New-castle 5-0 last weekend. Mancity need to prove a point - the worth of money the investors have spent on the team. Pellegrini will be on pressure to deliver Mancity to the quarter-final...I see Mancity playing to win this. But they are not with their talisman, Toure (suspended for a red card in the last game). Mancity has a chance to come out with something on this stage to beat Barcelona. Barcelona lost their last game and I think they will come out strong this time around. Their forward will bring shiver to any club in the world. Successes have been recorded against the sect Boko Haram in the northern part of the country recently. The Nigerian military troops have been put to alert for the insurgent leader bearing the name of Imam Abubakar Shekau who supposedly is looking for an escape route. In the past, there have been many news that this so called Shekau has been killed, but he still appears in most videos released by this insurgent sect. Maybe those characters killed then looks like him or claim to be him. This time around, they want to capture him alive at all cost so that he would face the law. I personally applaud our military. They recovered Monguno, Marte, Gamboru Ngala and other communities in Borno State within a week of massive operation. The arrival of sophisticated armaments greatly boosted their morale. Hello guys. Today I saw something that caught my eyes and put a smile on my face only. Many of you would call it old, Anyways it is the Range Rover Classic. It's a 4 wheel drive sport utility vehicle developed by the British. The series was actually built from 1970 to 1996 . The most interesting thing to me about the old lady is that my lecturer had refused to sell her. He gave me a thousand and one reasons why he loves her. Firstly, he said it is v8; body made from light weight aluminum; transmissions are only in manual and it comes in both off-road and on-road models. Well after the lecture on his old baby, I understood why he refused to leave her. He asked me if I would want a ride in it. Well I was reluctant about the whole thing coupled with the rough look of the lady, but as we rode in it, I noticed some things about the lady.It has no air conditioning considering the fact that we are in Nigeria, It has no power steering, and the engine makes a lot of noise (well girls in my school all noticed me  ) . After the ride I had lost a dozen of girlfriends who saw me.So I would thank Range Rover for what they have done and also for the newer versions of this great model which the same dozen of girls I lost would be excited to enter if only I could buy such. Do you drive these modern cars that won't push start on flat battery; cars with electronic pumps (no power, no fuel) or even automatics (no clutch to play with)? An older car may get away from this flat battery troubles when pushed on a safe runway. But sometimes this may not work which may result in you giving up. A jump start can go a long way in getting you out of this trouble, but you have to be careful. Be warned that jump starting your car should be the last thing you do when you must have tried out other ways to make your car come back to life. This is so to prevent damaging the electronic components of your car. You can jump start using a booster battery or another car and these precautions must be taken. Ensure all electrical equipment is switched off - wiper, light, heater Ensure the booster battery is the same voltage with that of the discharged battery in your car Ensure that the cars are out of gear; in automatic cars, the gear lever should be on neutral N or park P. The two cars must not touch each other. JUMP STARTING YOUR CAR 1. Connect one end of the red jump lead to the positive (+) terminal of the flat battery. 2. Connect the other end of the red lead to the positive(+) terminal of the booster battery. 3. Connect one end of the negative jump lead to the negative (-) of the booster battery. 4. Connect the other end of the negative (-) jump lead to a bolt or bracket on the engine block, well away from the battery, on the vehicle to be started. CAUTION: 1. Ensure the jump leads will not come into contact with the fan, drive belts, or other moving parts of the engine. 2. Start the 'donor car', then start the engine of your own car. Hey guys! Today, I wanna compare the official state cars of two prominent countries - USA and Nigeria...yes, Nigeria... it is a prominent country in case you don't know. Wikipedia have it that an official state car is the car used by a government to transport its head of state or head of government in an official capacity, which may also be used occasionally to transport other members of the government or visiting dignitaries from other country. As a matter of national security, many information about the American presidential car is kept secret. I was able to get few info that I could lay my hands on. CAR NAME AND MAKE USA: Chevrolete Kodiak-based, Cadillac-badged Limousine... Manufactured by General Motors Company (GMC) NIGERIA: Mercedes Benz S600L 2012 model adorned with the Nigerian flag and official party flag.. Manufactured by German Mercedes Benz. NICKNAME USA: The Beast, Cadillac one, Limo one. NIGERIA: I dont think there is one for it...who get that kind time sef. MILEAGE USA: It drinks fuel like juice at a massive rate of 8 miles per gallon. NIGERIA: I5 miles per gallon for city and 25 mpg for highway. BENEATH THE HOOD USA: I can't really tell NIGERIA: 5.5 liter, Turbocharged 12-cylinder engine that delivers 510 Horsepower @ 5000 RPM PRICE USA: It cost more than $1 million NIGERIA: Ranges from $46,496 to $48,088 SECURITY AND TECH USA: It is probably the most armored vehicle with windows on this planet earth. The inside of the car is sealed from outside. It has no business with oxygen coming from outside of the car; they use oxygen tank. This is to the risk of biochemical attack which maybe airborne. Its has a special night vision camera. The car is driven by a specially trained secret agent who can do wonders on wheels. Runs on diesel for durability and maybe to have high torque at a low rev and also because this diesel has low volatility which reduces the risk of the car exploding.
