*CHELSEA vs MANCHESTER UTD Whenever these two teams are brought together for the purpose of juxtaposition, there is always a proclivity of analysts, commentators & fans to exhibit some degree of bias, sentiments & bravado•• However, its pertinent to take an objective perspective of this weekend's clash which has been making headlines•• Not a derby, but surely a clash of Titans•• I have already received some bragging messages from my United counterparts on how rejuvenated & reinvigorated their team has become, whilst their London rivals have seen the form that has put them at the summit of the League decline in recent weeks, something that's conspicuous & glaring to all followers of the EPL•• These notwithstanding, no team would wanna accept defeat before this mouth-watering encounter & that makes the game more interesting•• Well, going with Manu's form & Chelsea's home record & Mourinho's defensive-minded tactics against vibrant oppositions I think there will be another draw just like in the first leg•• Tomorrow will prove me right or wrong but am not always scared of saying my mind & making predictions•• http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/chelsea-vs-manchester-utd-by-chelsea.html |
Will this be possible? Women on the platform of 100 Women Lobby Group and Change International Network have called on General Muhammadu Buhari to give 50% representation to Nigerian women in the forthcoming cabinet. In an exclusive interview with Leadership in Abuja yesterday, the national coordinator of the group, Felicia Onibon, said “the meeting today is to tell the president-elect that he must put women in his cabinet. We are looking at 50%; if we are able to get that, fine, but if not, it should be 35%”. Speaking on the participation of women in the recently concluded elections in most parts of the country, she said, “We have eight senators and 17 House of Representatives members, which is very low but at the same time encouraging, considering that we had over 20 in the last dispensation”. She maintained that the participation of women in the electoral process was commendable, and it outweighed general expectations. she said. “Women participation in the election was fantastic; a lot of women came out to vote and what we have seen so far outweighs our expectations. We weren’t expecting anything near it considering what happened at the primaries where we felt women wouldn’t show up and we wouldn’t have the turnout we had” http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/nigerian-women-demand-50-reps-buhari-cabinet.html |
In an address at the presentation of Certificates of Return to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was re-elected for a second term, and National Assembly members-elect in the state. Prof. Lai Olurode, the National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in charge of Ogun, Osun and Ekiti States, made an appeal to the incoming administration of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to arrest and punish prominent Nigerians who were involved in electoral malpractice during the election. He believes it will serve as a lesson to the rest of the mass. He said, “In the past, those who perpetrated electoral fraud, the notable among them, have not been brought to book, that is why it continues. “I will want the incoming government to make examples of some prominent election fraudsters. “For us in INEC, we feel frustrated by the harassment, intimidation, maiming and the killings that attended the just concluded general elections in some states. “We have always canvassed for an Election Offences Commission to deal with election security challenges in Nigeria. I advice you get your Oxford dictionary before you continue...lol. He was simply asked:What would you say was responsible for the low turn out of voters last saturday. "I’m sure the low voter turnout could be attributable to a vaudeville of ratiocinations. The presidential election attracted more voters ostensibly because that was the political elephant and was therefore occasioned with attendant publicity ballyhoo. A vast majority of Nigerians were also righteously indignant of the state of economic quagmire, political phantasmagoria and social disequilibrium the philistine and clueless government of President Jonathan has plummeted the country. They saw in the presidential election a sui generis opportunity to get the yoke off their back and that they did ferociously. This passion was not as frenzied in the last election". http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/Patrick-Obahiagbon-have-spoken-again.html |

In a statement released on Friday and signed by the PDP, Lagos chapter Publicity Secretary, Mr. Taofik Gani, the party alleged that the ruling party in the state had concluded plans to use printed PDP symbols to snatch ballot boxes to disrupt the Saturday’s election. The party claimed that this was one of the ways the APC had strategised to implicate the PDP in “their desperate bid to disrupt free and fair elections in the state.” The PDP linked its source to an informant who was in a strategic meeting held on Friday in Lagos Island. The statement read in part, “The meeting which had two leaders from each Local Council Development Area in Lagos and some known thugs held in a popular hotel and ended at exactly 3:45pm today (Friday). It was presided over by the chairman of APC. “The meeting also discussed the possibilities of compromising the Independent National Electoral Commission to shift elections in some identified areas to Sunday in the belief that the non-indigenes, who are mostly christains, will go to church and not come out to vote. It is our appeal to our fans to remain resolute and to make sacrifices to make their choice count.” The PDP’s spokesman stated further that it was calling on security operatives to be on guard to prevent any ballot box snatching. http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/apc-have-plans-to-implicate-us-during.html |
The governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has urged the people of his state not to vote for the People Democratic Party (PDP) in order not to experience all that they went through in the hands of PDP leadership. He made mention of under development, poverty and unemployment as what were experienced in the dark days of PDP leadership. Oshiomhole in a rally at a Uromi, yesterday, said “Let me remind you that Saturday is an opportunity to consolidate the change. I hear people say that before APC was in opposition; yes we too want them to do opposition. PDP has passed its productive years. Forever and ever, PDP can no longer deliver. “The engine of the Mercedes in Abuja today is APC’s Buhari, the back axle at the State level is Oshiomhole of the APC, now the seat in the House of Assembly, do you want to put in Volkswagen and reject the Benz? You must vote Adima and Okpame so that the Mercedes will be complete. “Election that was held last week, some people do not know what happened. Some say we lost but I say we won because today APC is now the Federal Government. Can we win more than that? To win does not mean that everybody must vote one way. What the majority says is what matters. That is what gives me joy. Adams added, “In Uromi land, power has changed. People who used to carry police to arrest us, we will now be the one arresting them. Before, the police was afraid of them but not anymore because the Commander-in-Chief is now General Muhammadu Buhari of APC. Power has changed. When an Iroko falls, any small bird would fly over it. “Now if we want to nominate Board members for NPA, it is we that we do it. The Uromi man that would go to NPA will come from APC, the Uromi Man that will be in SURE-P will come from APC, the Uromi man that will be in INEC will come from APC and the Uromi man that will be Minister of Works will be from APC. “PDP must bring money to share because they have stolen so much. I know when they brought money last week, some of you got confused. Please in this week’s election, we must not be confused again. If they give you, take but vote for APC. When they give you, after Saturday, you will not see their break light until after four years. Please don’t waste your votes, vote for the ruling party.” http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/adams-oshiomhole-swipes-pdp.html |

After a private meeting of President Jonathan and General Theophilus Danjuma, former Minister of Defense, Danjuma made some comendations on how Goodluck conceded his defeat. Danjuma said president Jonathan has set a record in the history of the country by conceding defeat. He said if former Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu had behaved like Jonathan by conceding defeat, the civil war would have been avoided "The outcome of the election and the manner in which President Jonathan conceded victory to Buhari, is total un-African, it is very important in the history of Africa. Ojukwu did the same after the fall of Enugu, if he had conceded victory to the federal troops he would have saved the nation one full year of bloodshed. President Jonathan has set a record, made history, something to be emulated by the rest of Africa and indeed the whole world.” He said. http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/civil-war-would-have-been-shorter-if.html |
MultiChoice, owners of DStv and GOtv, once announced a 20 percent price increase for all its satellite pay TV bouquets in Nigeria to take effect from April 1, 2015. According to them, the annual price increase, usually in-line with inflation, is necessary for it to continue offering the best in local and international entertainment to its subscribers. A Justice of the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos, C J Aneke, has granted an order of interim injunction restraining Multichoice from enforcing its planned increase in cost of the different classes of viewing of its pay TV, DSTV. The judge asked parties to maintain status quo in support of the motion ex parte with an affidavit of urgency sworn to by the plantiff. The order read in part: “That an order of interim injunction is hereby granted to the parties to maintain the status quo restraining the 1st defendant (Multichoice/DSTV) from giving effect or enforcing its planned increase in cost of the different classes of viewing or programmes bouquet, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.” “That an order is hereby granted certifying the plaintiffs’ claim as a class action for themselves as individual subscribers, other corporate subscribers, distributors and retailers of the 1st defendants’ services. “That an order is hereby granted restraining any other person whether individual or corporate from instituting any other action as may be related to the action against the defendant to prevent multiplicity of lawsuits pursuant to the appointment of the plaintiffs in the class action but may instead opt in or out of this action”. President-elect,Gen.Buhari has called on all Igbos to forgive Oba Akiolu and move on.He said Fashola has done a great job so far and it's in the interest of all to vote APC.Speaking at a rally in Lagos yesterday, he said. “I admire what your governor has done in terms of mobilising revenue to sustain Lagos development. I have a lot of respect for Governor Fashola for his hard work, commitment to the state and the country. There is no doubt that Lagos is a mini-Nigeria. We are all here and it has been mentioned by previous speakers that everybody (tribe) is adequately represented in Lagos.“So, I assure you. If you vote for the continuity of APC in Lagos, you stand to gain more. It is in your interest that you vote for the APC.... “Please when you go home tell your neighbours, relatives and even the opposition to please bury the hatchet. Let them fall in line and vote the APC. “When we were coming in our bus, Fashola told me how Lagos State had been spending to maintain the federal infrastructure here such as buildings, roads and other institutions. I had promised before that if I won the election and became the President, I would make Lagos my priority. Governor Fashola is already holding to me to that promise so I would like the incoming governor to listen carefully and make sure he makes me honour my undertaking. In any occasion I think the club who wins it gets the trophy in our last match at home, and our last game of the season is at home to Sunderland. So if we win the title we get the trophy at our house. But I don’t care, I just want to win it. This may come to pass because, Jose Mourinho is one of the most successful coach in the world. Have you for once hated the person that invented gun or hated why it was invented? There is this invention now. You Can Now Download And Print a 3D Gun Online. That sound strange right? But it is true. You can now go online, download a gun and then use it just as someone uses a normal gun In 2012, the U.S.-based group Defense Distributed disclosed plans to design a working plastic gun that could be downloaded and reproduced by anybody with a 3D printer."Defense Distributed has also designed a 3D printable AR-15 type rifle lower receiver (capable of lasting more than 650 rounds) and a 30 round M16 magazine.Soon after Defense Distributed succeeded in designing the first working blueprint to produce a plastic gun with a 3D printer in May 2013, the United States Department of State demanded that they remove the instructions from their website. In 2013 a Texas company, Solid Concepts, demonstrated a 3D printed version of an M1911 pistol made of metal, using an industrial 3D printer. Gun enthusiasts dreams of the day when a lethal firearm can be downloaded or copied by anyone, anywhere, as easily as downloading the latest rihanna music.. But the 27-year-old Japanese man arrested last year for allegedly owning illegal 3-D printed firearms did more than simply download and print other enthusiasts’ designs. He appears to have created some of his own. Among the half-dozen plastic guns seized from Yoshitomo Imura’s home in Kawasaki was a revolver designed to fire six .38-caliber bullets–five more than the Liberator printed pistol that inspired Imura’s experiments. He called it the ZigZag, after its ratcheted barrel modeled on the German Mauser Zig-Zag. In a video he posted online six months ago, Imura assembles the handgun from plastic 3-D printed pieces, a few metal pins, screws and rubber bands, then test fires it with blanks. “Freedom of armaments to all people!!” he writes in the video’s description. “A gun makes power equal! http://www.gistalive.com/2015/04/worlds-3d-gun-download-online.html
