There have been news circulating in the media about this billionaire businesswoman, Bola Shagaya, that she has plans to host Aisha, the wife of President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to a lavish dinner.
In a statement released on Friday evening and signed by her aide, Deji Adeyanju, Shagaya said the story is “totally untrue and a fabrication.”

Our attention has been drawn to a false and misleading story on the social media that Hajia Bola Shagaya is planning to host a dinner party in honour of Mrs. Aishat Buhari, wife of the winner of the March 28, 2015, Presidential Election (General Muhammadu Buhari). While we hold Mrs. Buhari in high esteem and commend the victory of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at the poll, we wish to make it categorically clear for the records that this story is totally untrue & a fabrication. Hajia Bola Shagaya has no such plans or has she ever told anyone of such a plan to host Mrs. Buhari. It is purely mischief aimed at misleading Nigerians and disparaging her good name.

This rumour making the rounds on cyberspace has no iota of truth whatsoever and Hajia Bola Shagaya wishes to draw the attention of Nigerians to this. Hajia Bola Shagaya remains a very close confidant and friend of our amiable First Lady Dr. Dame Patience Jonathan and will continue to offer her invaluable contribution to the nation and always. We are also very proud of the heroic act of President Goodluck Jonathan making a great sacrifice to keep the peace of this nation. We urge all Nigerians and all right thinking people to completely disregard such stories. It is false, and conjured out of envy.

You will recall that this rumour was attributed to the London chapter of All Progressives Congress to perfect this falsehood. All discerning Nigerians can understand why they planted such a story and the mischief behind it. We urge those behind it to desist forthwith.

Your success and victory after three previous unsuccessful attempts must be great object lessons for you and for all politicians, particularly in Nigeria. On this occasion, the system has been unnecessarily overheated before and particularly during the campaigns when emphasis was more on trivialities and hate, divisive, undignifying and disrespectful statements and comments rather than on pressing issues requiring attention.

The other day, it was Range Rover Evoque that they produced its replica and was called Landwind. This time around, of all the prestigious, luxurious, handsome, high-performance vehicles, the Chinese automaker choose to copy a Kia Picanto.

I still can't figure out why Chinese companies copy the work of global automakers. May be it is because the version of these expensive imports can be had from a cheaper, domestically built automaker.


This Kia Picanto is a tiny fine car for what it is, but please don't race it with Toyota Camry 2015 model.
While most copycat designs are pretty scandalous because they are easily discernible from the cars on which they're based. The design of the YOGOMO 330 does not face the same case here, though it is virtually identical with that of the Kia Picanto, but the mirrors and grille are different.

Nigeria's first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan has warned against voting for Buhari as he intends to send her to prison. Speaking at the woman's rally in Ibadan, Oyo state,she said

“I want to warn you not to listen to the All Progressives Congress. The APC does not have materials to match what the PDP has on (the) ground. Their candidate was there in governance initially. What did he do? They only sent your fathers to prison.

“They are planning to even send me to prison. Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! They have nothing to offer. They only say ‘I will’, ‘I will’.

“A train is moving and it has now got to Oyo State. When we talk about train, some of you may have not seen a train before now. The last time a train moved in this country was when I was small and in primary school.


“When my children were small, they asked me what a train was. I had to take them to London and we entered a train from London to Paris. But the PDP government has brought this back to Nigeria. If you want to see train working today, you don’t need to travel again.”

“I enjoin the women and youths of Oyo State to vote for our party on Saturday. I have seen a campaign advert by the APC in the newspapers saying ‘God give us men’. But our prayer in the PDP is different. We pray that God gives us men and women.

“Jonathan is the first President in Nigeria to give women 35 per cent. Going by the National Conference report, the President has said that if women have 35 per cent, youths will also have 30 per cent.


“I was looking at the list of the universities set up by this administration, and I saw that one of them was set up even in the hometown of his opponent – Gen. Buhari. I think that if Buhari could not set up a university in his own state, Jonathan has done it and, therefore, deserves to continue.”

The press statement released by Nigeria Police Force:
As part of efforts to ensure adequate security in the forthcoming general elections across all the Federation on Saturday 28th March, 2015 and 11th April, 2015, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni has ordered the restriction on vehicular movements as follows:
(i) Saturday 28th March, 2015, 8.00am – 5.00pm only.
(ii) Saturday 11th April, 2015 8.00am – 5.00pm only


This total restriction of movements order applies to all, except for Ambulances, Fire service trucks and others on essential duties. Consequently, travellers and citizens who intend to use roads on these days and hours are advised to plan alternative times for their travelling.


While expressing his regrets over the inconveniences that road users and the general public may encounter as a result of this restriction, the IGP appeals for the understanding and cooperation of the entire citizenry, as the restriction is done in the nation’s interest.

The IGP assures that adequate security logistics and manpower have been strategically deployed to achieve a most conducive electioneering atmosphere. In this regard, Policemen for election duty have been properly trained, briefed and sensitized on their roles as stipulated in the Electoral Act. They are expected to be professional, non-partisan, civil but firm in their approach and relation to the public.

Meanwhile, citizens are enjoined to remain vigilant and report all suspicious movements or dealings to appropriate Police authority.

I don't think you have seen this ride lately around this part of the world (Nigeria).
In case you don't know, this is 2015 Lexus NX-F-Sport. This is a car loaded with technology that will blow your mind.
This machine has a touchpad-like interpretation of the mouse that used to control all interior functions. There's the ability to pinch and swipe on the map, like a smartphone, though it never worked terribly well.

There are other bunch of modern driver aid functions like:


-Lane departure alert
-Precollision alert
-An adaptive cruise control system that can bring the car to a full stop

The All Progressive Congress has warned the Federal government and the people of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to shun any plot to assassinate Maj. Gen. Buhari and Bola Tinubi.

Lai Mohammed, the National Publicity Secretary for the APC, said that the PDP-led government had trained special forces to eliminate the opponents of President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid. He said,

“I have never seen a government so terrified of elections as this present administration. And I have never seen a candidate so terrified of the opposition as Jonathan. Even as recent as last week, (Ekiti State Governor Ayodele) Fayose was asking for the withdrawal of Buhari from the Presidential election; and it is just bizarre -but that coming from Fayose, one should not be surprising.”


“Coming to issue of security, they have made an attempt on his (Buhari) life once before; it can be done again. But, let us warn them that any attempt on the life of Buhari or Bola Tinubu will lead to a consequence that will be very dear for this country. They should not even contemplate it.”

Mohammed also laid emphasis on the claims of former president Olusegun Obasanjo that president Jonathan's administration was training snipers.
He also claimed the special force team was drawn from the police, the Air force, the Navy, the Department of Security Service and National Intelligence Agency.

“It is true. They were trained in Belarus. They are security agents drawn from the NIA, the DSS, the Police, the Air Force and the Navy. They were trained on how to take out targets without any trace or without being discovered and they will leave the scene quietly.”

A twelve-year-old Cairo schoolboy died after being beaten severely by his teacher a day to his death. Islam Sharif as named by a local report was beaten for not doing his homework.
He sustained head injury and suffered brain hemorrhage as revealed by Chief Hisham Abdel Amid in a forensic report.

The teacher said he had no intentions to kill the young boy and that the beating served as a disciplinary measure.


Cases of violence against children have risen in recent years as revealed by the Egyptians government. December last year, Egyptian National Council for Childhood and Motherhood said that attacks on children has increased by 55% between January and October compared with the average over the last three years. 50% of these violence against children were registered in schools.

There are better ways to discipline a child instead of beating them.

A total of one million, four hundred and seventy-five thousand, four hundred and seventy-seven candidates are to sit for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which begins on Tuesday March 10, nationwide and in seven foreign countries.
Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor ’Dibu Ojerinde, made this known on Thursday, in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the preparation of the Board for the conduct of a full-blown Computer Based Test (CBT).

He disclosed that 400 examination centres had been designated for the conduct of the examination in Nigeria and seven foreign centres namely: Accra in Ghana, Buea in Republic of Cameroun, Cotonou in Republic of Benin, London in United Kingdom, Jeddah in Kingdom of Saudi-Arabia and Johannesburg in Republic of South Africa and Addis in Ethiopia.
He said the examination was spread to 10 days beginning from Tuesday, March 10, to end on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
He noted that the Board had phased out the Paper Pencil Test (PPT) and Dual Based Test (DBT), as retrogressive modes of test administration.
Ojerinde, however, disclosed that there was a decline in the number of candidates that applied for UTME this year as a result of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East in which many people were displaced.
He noted that in the last UTME conducted in 2014, a total of 1,632,172 candidates registered for the three modes of PPT, DBT and CBT, showing a decrease of 156,695 applicants when compared with this year’s figure.
He disclosed that a total of 192 visually-impaired candidates registered for the 2015 UTME, and that adequate arrangements had been provided to ensure that they partook in the examination.
According to him, the board recently procured Braillenote Apex Computers for the visually-impaired candidates in order to give them the opportunity to pursue their dreams academically.
“The board is the first assessment body in Nigeria to use the Braillenote Apex Computers for public examination. This gadget allows the visually-impaired to take the CBT with minimal assistance,” he said.
Ojerinde said the gadget, which was demonstrated at the event, had been trial-tested with a number of visually-impaired candidates and proved to be effective.
He further disclosed that 208 prison inmates registered for the UTME and would take the examination at both Kaduna and Ikoyi prisons.
According to the Registrar, Imo State topped the chart of the 10 states with highest number of applicants with 104,381 applications, while FCT, which had the lowest of applicants, recorded 4,085 applications.
However, the three north-eastern states of Yobe, Jigawa and Borno, devastated by the Boko Haram activities, recorded low applications with 10, 044; 12,663 and 15,692 respectively.
Prof. Ojerinde, insisted that Biometric Verification Machines would be deployed for verification of candidates before admitting them for the examination, and that candidates were also expected to thumb-print after the examination.
This according to him, would help curb the incidence of impersonation and other forms of examination malpractices the Board was determined eradicate.
He warned against any attempt by the candidates or officials of the Board to compromise the “well-organised” arrangement, saying the full weight of the law would be meted out to such individuals.
