Frontend: React/React native(optional nextjs)

Backend: Nodejs(Expressjs) with strong knowledge of containerization using docker, cloud deployment and distributed systems

Ideas are worth nothing. Implementation is all that matters

Keep learning and understanding how the basics work. In programming your brain is a processor not a memory card. Advance programmers still google basic stuff but the difference is that they can put everything together into amazing products because they understand how all the parts work.

Minus learning, programming can keep you one place trying to figure out how something works for days running into weeks. You will see youself going in circles with no real solution. I faced something similar recently relating to a database design structure. I have finally figured it out and done it, but there are days I literally cried... with all my experience.... Some days you are coding like a god, other days...

But joy and additional motivation always comes with conquering the challenges and moving on....

I'm not saying you are not smart. Keep improving your skill. Learn a frame work for real life projects like react, node, react native, Vue. Build something, there is a reason why no body cares about certificate in tech. You must have built something, use the knowledge from what you are learning to put two or three projects up.

Remove bootstrap from your mind as something major you know because it's not. I am telling you this so you will not invest time you should have used into improving in looking for a job nobody is gonna give you. Thanks

You are not ready yet. You are going into a field of very smart people. You can not get a job with knowledge of the bare minimum.

Wsl2 is what you need....I am currently running docker on WSL: Ubuntu-20.04 on my windows PC.


You must be running Windows 10 version 2004 and higher (Build 19041 and higher) or Windows 11.

I don't mean to be off topic, but what can we actually do to kill the hype around tech,
I think it's unsettling that a lot of people are migrating into tech careers just for the pay,
I mean, it would be nice to come across a Nigerian doing research and developing some cutting edge advancement in tech, who knows, maybe if we had more people like that, technological innovation could be one of those things that would make Nigerian Standout just like Music has done.

I don't know if this makes any sense but, its on here anyway

Nigeria is already doing good in tech. Nigeria has the highest tech funding coming to Africa and called the tech hub of Africa. There are still a lot to improve upon but I believe we are on track.

Anybody that tells you they are doing tech only for passion is a big fat liar. Tech is just a tool to solve problem and solving problem brings money. Thank God you like to solve problems, using Tech will help you grow in that while bringing you big bucks.
From research and experience, Web/app development using Javascript and its frameworks has more demand and low entry level to jobs.
If you want to relocate then you need to learn the Java and spring boot stack.
Data science pays more. However entry level is high and you need to learn how to use a lot of tools.
You can also choose the C#/.Net route. There is no much competition there. You can as well relocate with it.
If you choose any of the route, you need to understand how to solve coding problems. Learning data structure and algorithm will help you in that. You need this to ace interviews.

You need to be passionate about tech to make anything worthwhile from it. That's why you are told money shouldn't be your driving force. It's a lot of hard work with zero pay before the pay. With a money mindset as drive, you are going to give up before you get to a penny

But you need to know what the hell is happening in nodejs and MySQL first...so the steps still valid

This is just one path you can take that will surely pay off. There are other paths you can also explore.
