Kazrem: MimiHans A friend wants to know how seminar is done. How many chapters, like how many pages etc. Ideally, for a term paper of '10 to 20 pages' you will require about one month to collect enough material from libraries and other sources. If you have time constraints, you should take at least one week to research and write the paper, however, the more time you allow yourself, the better your result will be. In addition, a seminar paper should contain 5 chapters. |

habib55: tanx,i graguated with upper credit. Sorry for the late response. Habitually, holders of HND (with a minimum of Upper Credit) from institutions recognized by the Senate of NOUN, in a 'related' field of study are accepted to come for their Masters in NOUN. Per contra, your HND course (Elect/Elect) is not related to Comm Tech, so you will be admitted into 200L or better still, you can dive into PGD. All the best! |

mekuzee1: good day please a friend wants to do direct entry to NOUN with an awaiting ND result.is it possible and what level would she start from? NOUN do not accept awaiting result. For a DE (200L) applicant, a minimum of Upper credit is required from an institution recognised by the senate of the National Open University of Nigeria. |

Philipsdael: Its not advisable to pay through online banking because your matric number will be needed to link the payment to your portal, of which online transaction won't provide such platform.
Maybe Karem, minihans etc can confirm this. Payments can also be made through Internet Banking Applications using your generated RRR. |

Wumine: Please, can one apply for PHD with MBA? All MBAs are terminal, that means it won't give you a direct offer to PhD. Executive MBAs are usually short like two weeks or less, it's always expensive and won't grant you a direct access to PhD as well. If you are dead set of getting your PhD and know research is your passion, I would recommend going the MSc route (if it is indeed research focused). There are other people in other departments that did come from research oriented Masters programs, and they are a little ahead of the game because they already understand research methods, where to MBA folks, research is brand new. |

divinemandate: from d above statement does it mean dt NOUN do conduct written/oral interview for phd students. secondly, if u hv ur certificate do they still require transcript or transcript will be required only when u hv statement of result. just curious for further planning. using unilag as a case study, for their postgraduate programmes, transcrpt is only requred when u dnt hv cert. but only wt ur statemenf of result. pls can u clarify these thirdly, did my first degree in edu/biology, masters in measurement nd evaluation bt d courses I saw on NOUN for phd in edu among others are edu planning nd administration, science edu. which of of these can I apply for wt my qualification. note: there are few courses there but these are the two I hv interest in. Advice highly needed thanks •NOUN do conduct 'Oral' interview for prospective PhD applicants. Your PhD interviewer needs to be sure that you are academically capable and can rise to the challenges. They will want to know that you are serious about undertaking further study and that you have researched the course or area of study research that you are interested in. •For PhD, your transcript will be highly appreciated, with it, your worth/academic prowess would be evaluated (a minimum score average of not less than 60% or a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale). •Regarding how to choose a PhD course that is right for you and/or related to your course of study, contact the PhD Programme Coordinator/Course Coordinator at your proposed Study Centre. |

dest4real: Hello Sir/Ma,
I want to apply for PhD in applied Biology.
I read that i have to send my transcript across to be considered for admission.
Since it's going to take time for my transcript to reach NOUN, if i apply now, do i have to wait till next year before i can commence my PhD programme?
Again, how many semesters/years (minimum) must span before my PhD will be awarded?
Thanks. NOUN do not give admission to prospective PhD students effortlessly (on a platter of gold). You'll pass through a series of tests/interviews. You can actually apply now. However, the admission office will have to scrutinise and evaluate your transcript before you can be granted your admission. Your admission is dependent on you meeting the minimum admission requirements. DURATION: A minimum of 3 years, nonetheless, this is dependent on time, dedication and monetary aspect. Wish you well, Sir. |

cc mimiHANS , any other person that has a solution should also advise on what to do? I've also sent a mail to to "support@nou". Thank you. It is likely you've altered/tampered with your password or it might be due to network interruption. I admonish you to retry all over again tomorrow. |

wableo: 1. For Msc is 40. I don't know if it is the same for PGD. I will advice u do all electives. 2. You will write a proposal for 3 topics and submit it at your centre. Business Centres in your study centre may help you with a fee. U may likely pay before u submit too. For PGDE, a student is required to pass a minimum of 30 credit units from relevant courses. |

cameralaye: Did anyone have idea of master program in engineering in this university and how is the certificate reliable in the labour market? NOUN do not offer Engineering Courses. NOUN certificate is very authentic and well-recognized in the labour market. However, in the labour market, you are required to possess the aptitude/potential to defend/foster your certificate, whether you finished from NOUN or Conventional University, because the same circumstances applies to Conventional Universities. |

Thanks. The result verification bill is meant for 300L students going to 400L. The fee will be inevitably deducted from your e-wallet, the moment you change your level from 300L to 400L on your portal. |

Obinoscopy: I have only one Elective course in my list of registrable courses for this semester. But I'm not sure of making good grades with that Elective. Thus I can afford not to register it since it could affect my CGPA negatively and since I can meet the 90 units with the remaining Core courses. What do you think? If I were you, I'll stoutly bypass the "Unyielding Course." |
