Hiploko: Right now, an austere and fruitful demonstration/movement is in progress on that thread. Kudos! |

lexdino: It is not done anywhere, even in Conventional Universities. It is like someone currently having a 3.49CGPA and hoping they will 'round it up' to 3.50CGPA(Second Class Upper Division). May God continue to grant you a retentive memory! 1 Like |

Hiploko: Sorry for the awfully late response. I was busy due to some logistic reasons. We can literally start from this kind of avenue. However, I will implore all NOUN students to bombard the thread en mass with productive and reasonable comments, so as to draw the Public and NOUN scrutiny. Moreover, you don't need to be a victim before you start commenting. We've gatz to cry out now because it can be your turn next. Though, I've never experienced such, but I have friends who are victims of this menace. |

ejibaba: Bros, It is a contemplative puzzle which no one gatz answers to. Actually, I/We can advise those students with 2 or 3 missing scripts/results to re-write their papers. But, for those with 4 or 6 missing scripts out of 8 courses. Are we also going to tell them to re-write all the 4 or 6 courses?! Considering: capital, stress and time factor. This is totally absurd and uncalled for! This is a "Salient issue" that NOUN should look into. |

Kkhikkhi: Unarguably, The Polytechnic Grading System is: 3.50-4.00CGPA is equivalent to 'Distinction' 3.00-3.49CGPA is equivalent to 'Upper Credit' 2.50-2.99CGPA is equivalent to 'Lower Credit' 2.00-2.49CGPA is equivalent to 'Pass' 0.00-1.99CGPA is equivalent to 'Fail' Your 3.2CGPA is actually an Upper Credit Division. Since your CGPA falls within 3.00-3.49(which is upper credit) you're good to go. In addition, admission is granted on the strength of the information supplied by the student while filling the form. Best of luck! |

JigsawKillah: It seems the matter of contention concerning this timetable is that they mingled both PHY111(Elementary Mechanics) and PHY113(Heat & Properties of Matter) to make PHY101(Elementary Mechanics, Heat & Properties of Matter). Though, I wouldn't know if that's a new course. You will definitely not find PHY113 and PHY111 on the timetable. You can only see PHY101. Perhaps, a mistake from them. If it wasn't a mistake, then they should have at least notify students about the new development. In the nutshell, stay put and watch the situation of things till next week. Maybe, some modifications would be made. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sike: The same modus-operandi is applicable to other study centers. You would need to wait till after the e-exams. Visit your SC after the e-exams, they'll tell you the appropriate/specific time to submit your credentials. 1 Like |

martins022: Normally, you'll have to continue with 200L second semester come next year. Having said that, you can as well add some courses from 300L first semester to your 200L second semester registrable courses if you know you would be "financially and intellectually" capable of doing so. And remember, the maximum course unit you can register per semester is 24 units. The aforementioned method will compress the semester you've already missed. |

kunleee: 1) Do not bother yourself. You don't need to communicate with your SC. It won't reflect on your result, since you won't write it tomorrow. 2) For PGD, a student is required to pass a minimum of 30 credit units from relevant courses. Get well soon! Guerissez bientot! |

emeka94: The conditions for graduating from NOUN are: 1) Seminar. 2) Industrial Training. 3) Minimum of 120 credit units. 4) Project. Judiciously, it's advisable you re-run your pending and failed courses. Telling you to re-run the failed ones and ignore the pending ones doesn't make any iota of sense. Re-write the failed ones to earn half of your point/grade back and the pending ones to avoid any form of obstacles. Furthermore, try to start working on your project on time. Do not wait till 400L second semester, so as to finish and submit it without hassles and to meet the deadline for project submission. 1 Like |

baba11: "Congratulations on Your Good Grades" "Felicitations pour votre bonne note" Arguably, it's still very feasible for you to graduate come next year. A friend of mine submitted his project last year Dec and he was among the graduands the following month(JAN 2015). All you need do is, promptly after the e-exams, go back to your SC, collect the thesis result form and present it to your supervisor. At this period of time, they will still be compiling the Graduation List. |

Lilylaw: Yes! You can actually start from where you stopped. That's one of the "commendable endowment" of the National Open University of Nigeria. Now, for you to change your course, you would have to go to your SC. Consult your course counselor/coordinator. He/she will now be in the best position to counsel you on what step to take. |

izaray: Of course, yes. You can go ahead and make your registration after the exams. On the other hand, you would have to wait till after the e-exams which will probably end by November ending/1st week of Dec. Then, leave a gap of one week in-between before paying. inafix: My deepest sympathy on the demise of your Mother. Accept my condolences! Regarding your questions, my take is, it's practically not possible for you to meet up with the ongoing POP exams considering the fact that: 1) You're yet to do your TMAs. 2) You don't have Course Materials which you can read for your exams. 3) You do not have past questions which you can lay your hands on. 4) Time factor. In contrast, if you want to risk it and/or give it a try, you still have from now till Sunday to prepare for next week and/or upper week papers. And so also any e-exam you registered for e.g The Good Study Guide and others. Simply printout your course materials, lay your hands on some past questions, and do your TMAs alongside. You can now postpone those courses you've already missed till next semester. 1 Like |
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by MimiHANS(m): 7:33pm On Oct 12, 2015 |
eginaP: The "Good Study Guide" does not reflect on your timetable due to the fact that the course is an e-exam(CBT) and not POP. All you need to do is look out for the e-exam TimeTable(draft TT), which is already out. Asides, when the time comes, probably next week, the updated/modified e-exam timetable will be loaded to your portal which will reflect all those courses you registered for e-exams. Secondly, the exam you missed won't reflect on your result in one way or the other, since you didn't write it. You can shift it till next semester. My concern is I don't advice students/my colleagues to postpone course/courses till the following semester due to course overload. 2 Likes |

2sym: You can't get the past questions for all these courses coz they're not POP(Pen on Paper)exams. You can actually get their TMAs. However, it's advisable you solve these TMAs on your own. |
