ComputersSerious Warning For Gmail Users by mimyselfai(op): 3:06pm On Jul 06, 2020
While Google has dropped some Chrome bombshells in recent weeks, Gmail users have had a tougher time. And it just got a lot worse.

Picked up by the always-excellent Android Police, Gmail appears to be suffering from a widespread problem with its email filters which is causing potentially dangerous, exploitative and NSFW messages to be sent directly to users’ inboxes. Furthermore, while Google has recently recognized Gmail problems “affecting a significant subset of users” it now lists the service as fully operational, when one look at Reddit or Twitter makes it clear this is far from the case.

“Why did the gmail spam filters break?!” – source

07/04 Update: Google has responded to my inquiry and acknowledged the problem, surprisingly pointing out that the spam flaw was actually part of a bigger issue which caused Gmail emails to be delayed, both when sent and received. The consequence of this was “some messages were delayed enough that they resulted in delivery without all spam checks completing.” Most importantly, Google states that “During this time, scans to filter malware and the most egregious spam and harmful content remained fully operational.” Google says the issue has now been resolved. That said, it is worth noting that some users are still reporting spam problems in Gmail (1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc) so you should remain cautious, both when opening unfamiliar new email and going through older messages that may have arrived during the main outage.

07/05 Update: while some users are still reporting problems with Gmail spam, over the last 24 hours the number of reports appears to have reduced dramatically. Google is clearly getting this problem under control, but users must stay alert – both when opening emails sent over the last few days and also in case they are an exception, such as this affected user who messaged Gmail support today:

“@Google Can you explain why every spam mail is flooding my primary inbox of #Gmail?? & Sm of these r pretty nasty, seemingly harmful. What am I supposed to do with these?” – source

The quality of modern spam filters means it is easy to become casual opening email from unknown sources. This incident is a good reminder to always keep your wits about you.

For the tech savvy, a flurry of spam hitting your inbox is something which can be navigated. But everyday users could be caught out by some of the more sophisticated malware and exploitation strategies these emails can contain. After all, there’s a reason Gmail (usually) works so hard to keep these messages from your inbox.

I have contacted Google about this and will update the post when I know more.

Senior Mamas, pls I have a question, I don't even know if it's a question but I would love to read your thoughts. lemme try and compose it.

How do you explain this scenario.

A close relative was confirmed pregnant 2 weeks ago via blood test oo, and just yesterday, she saw blood and decided to visit the hospital.

Here's what the gynea said " She wasn't pregnant in the first instance, something about a hormone or so.

My thoughts are all over the place, am not worried about her taking in again, I just feel sad, imagine been told you were pregnant only to be told 2 weeks later, oh you were not really pregnant.

Has anyone experienced this before?
I might not be able to give you a well laid out medical care xplanation but if she took any HCG injection or pills (for timed intercourse for TTC), the reaction of the HCGcould be delayed period and consequently a positive pregnancy test. And when the HCG eventually wears out, after a few weeks I think, the period will start and the blood test will return negative as it was supposed to be. So ask her if she took HCG. Correct me mothers if I'm wrong.

ProfAmah:
MY BIRTH STORY.

To the glory of God Almighty alone do I share this story.

Thank God for the successful journey of 9 months and a supernatural child birth.
I conceived my baby due to God's mercy. My LMP
was on the 10th of August, 2019. I had been trying to conceive for some time to no avail. I underwent an eye surgery in September,
2019. I had no idea that I had conceived before that surgery. I was expecting AF and even wore sanitary towel to the theatre. Unknown to me that God had heard my cry for forgiveness. I was filled with so much joy and gratitude when I later realized that I was pregnant. My heart and prayers goes out to all GTC mothers all over the world. Despite, the fact that I have older children, It is heartbreaking to keep seeing your monthly flow when you are longing to conceive a baby. I pray that God will answer their prayers this month in Jesus' name. Amen.

I went to register in a new hospital on Wednesday, 6th May, 2020 because the hospital that I had been using was sealed up due to a reported case of covid19. I was already 39 weeks gone and I was done and ready to meet my baby. I had a scan that day and as expected was given a very far EDD- 24th May as against 11th &13th of May. The sonographer had told me that my cervix was very closed to my dismay. I had resolved to eat a lot of pineapples or drink castor oil if I didn't fall into labour naturally. I was induced for my earlier pregnancy of my 3rd child, so I did not want to be induced this time around.

However, God had something in stock for me. It all started on Thursday, 7th May, 2020. I hosted a zoom meeting @ 9:00am. After the meeting, I was juggling a lot on my hands and executing managerial functions while reporting to my boss. I had scheduled to host another meeting @ 1:50pm that same day, unknown to me that the meeting was not going to hold.

At 11:30 am, (due to the pandemic, I work from home) I decided to catch some sleep before the next meeting. My husband who was also at home with me and our kids, also joined me in our bedroom while our older kids were going about their home work.

With my DH beside me, I thought of using that avenue to make love to him in order to kick start something. I allowed him to stimulate my ripples which was a no go area throughout my pregnancy because they were quite sensitive. While we were at it, I felt some contractions. I tried to ignore them as I was savouring the moment. This continued until I could no longer bear them. I excused myself and went to the rest room where I had a seemingly unending urination and defecation. I kept checking with clean hands to see if I had lost my plug or something unusual was happening. I saw nothing strange. I just assumed that the contractions that I was having were braxton hicks because they were not regular nor consistent.

After about 10 mins later, we could no longer continue with our game and we suspected that I was experiencing early labour. So I tried to eat something light and get some rest when I did not feel any contraction. When contractions came, they began to intensify and I kept changing labour positions like kneeling on my fours, squatting, standing with my legs apart, swaying my hips from side to side, etc.

At 12:38pm, my boss called me yet again to discuss official matters after we had just chatted on Whatsapp. There and then, I told her that I was in early labour. She screamed and asked me to suspend all work immediately and prayed for me. I had yet another contraction during that call. I asked her to please postpone my zoom meeting till further notice.

With work settled, I told my husband the contents of my hospital bags and we planned to head for the hospital immediately. Then, a very strong contraction came and I felt like going to toilet, my husband was right behind me and said we must leave the house after I had recovered from that contraction. Then, yet another strong contraction joined in quick succession, leaving me with little time to recover. Booah! My water broke right before my husband's eyes and he became worried, saying "Honey, your water has broken" then, I realised that I was almost at my peak. Things were happening so fast. With another contraction, I bore down asking my husband to pour water on me since we were in the bathroom. He did, but I needed more water, so I laid in the water and as he was trying to get me to stand up, he shouted" Honey see your baby's head!" My goodness! unbelievable! My baby's head? I felt a very strong urge to push and I started to push. My husband and I were all alone there. To say that he was perplexed is an understatement. He was wondering who he could call for help. Meanwhile, I was already pushing. He summoned courage to take the delivery of our baby. Mind you, he is not a doctor nor a medical worker, neither am I. He kept encouraging me to push and I held on to his arm and pushed with the help of God. To God's glory, our son was born at about 1:16pm before my scheduled meeting!

I had earlier bought a pair of scissors for another purpose and I directed my husband to bring it and like a flash back, I remembered that I had read how to cut an umbilical cord somewhere stating that the cord should not be cut immediately but after the child had inhaled some oxygen which would make the cord turn light blue from white before it could be cut. God's leading and guidance was with us. We successfully cut the cord and called for help while we were at it. My husband could not clamp the cord initially because of panicking. So we joined hands together and God helped us. He sent nurses to our rescue. Who helped me to deliver the placenta and the afterbirth.

All this while, my older children sensed what was happening and began to pray for me in the living room. When they told that I had put to birth, they turned the prayer session into praise and worship session, praising God for answered prayers. I have never seen my kids so grateful and elated as they were.

God made me to deliver like the Hebrew women before the nurses could arrive. We have gone for routine checks and the doctors have certified us OK!

This could only have been God!!!
We are in awe.

To all expectant mothers, quick and easy labour to you all. Healthy mothers and babies, rejoicing family in Jesus' name. Amen.

To the awaiting mothers, your waiting is over from this month in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thanks everyone for your congratulatory messages. God bless you all.

Good morning , we had a miscarriage after 12 weeks. It was a traumatic experience. The baby literally came out in the bathroom after severe pain and bleeding in the bathroom of our hospital. She had fibroid but doctor then said it wasn't caused by the fibroid. We did a scan in the hospital two hours before the miscarriage and from the scan the doctor said everything was fine but they gave her an injection for pain and that happened. It was so bad, we had to go on vacation with two family couples for a week outside the country to overcome the trauma. Prayer also helped.

We kept praying and she's pregnant again . We decided to see a fertility specialist who is a specialist in threatened pregnancies and after a scan he recommended cyclogest, duphaston, pronatal and a low dose aspirin. She was six weeks pregnant when all this was recommended. We have been using it religiously. Just want to confirm if these drugs have been used by anyone here and if the drugs have helped anyone. Is there any side effects we have to be aware of ? The doctor has explained to us to an extent but it will also be nice to hear from real life people. Thanks
Well, we were visiting a Fertility Clinic when we were TTC and immediately we got pregnant, the doctor prescribed cyclogest. We bought and commenced use immediately but the baby was lost at about 8 weeks too. It was devastating. And two months later, we hit the jackpot again and we decided to take our chance without cyclogest. Just Folic Acid, Calcium, Ferous. And we welcomed our princess almost two years ago. We're 22 weeks gone into our second missionary journey. I believe one miscarriage is not a verdict that the next pregnancy is threatened but I also know that these drugs don't have severe side effects. You'll carry to term and share this testimony with someone else too. Good luck and no shaking.

Good morning mommas
I did pregnancy test with pt test strip on Tuesday and it was positive when my husband came back from work today I did another one for him to confirm and it came out negative please help I am confused
Well, it's quite simple. Due to the fact that your pregnancy is still early, then it means your HCG level is still low. You know it's advised you do the home kit test with your early morning pee. So the test you did earlier came out positive because you did it before your urine became saturated. You can guess why the one you did later came back negative. As ytime goes on, your HVG level will increase and you will be able to detect your pregnancy via test strips even at night.

I read somewhere in the initial part of this thread that the proper thing is to take preventive malaria drugs every 4 weeks, from the second trimester.

Not twice throughout the pregnancy... every 4 weeks.
Thanks. Really appreciate. Will get Fansidar later today. I heard it's a good one to use. We're 19 weeks gone already. Thanks.

Good morning. #TeamSeptember. Well there's something we really need to clarify in this family. No doubt, there's so much conflicting literature and comments on the internet space on the use of Pregnacare/Obron6 and/or B-complex, Folic Acid, Calcium, Ferous et al. Now, the crocs of the matter is, last pregnancy, we didn't take pregnacare at all. All we used was Folic Acid, Calcium, Ferous. But now we're using Pregnacare but combine it with Folic Acid once a day, and Ferous once a day. Now we're adding Calcium also once a day and B-complex once a day. I honestly hope this isn't trying too much but we are doing this because i think you can't get too much of these things.

Secondly, is it compulsory to treat malaria at least twice during pregnancy even if you don't have malaria? Last time out, we did get malaria treatment twice. So if this is very important, at what stages would treatment be recommended and what is the best recommended malaria med.

Thanks.

preeclampsia headaches isn't constant also..it comes and go...I will advice to check her blood pressure, just to rule that out. If its ok ..then she can just take paracetamol or rest, if you cant go to the hospital buy a blood pressure monitor from any pharmacy. Or take her to the pharmacy to check it, for just 100 naira. And the earlier, the better.
Thanks. Will try out the blood pressure and urine test option first. Results will determine our next line of action. Thanks really. Blessings.

sometimes preempclapsia gives no sign till the last minute, even after diagnosis there might be no headache.
To be safe, please if you can, buy a BP checker and check the blood pressure plenty times a day or you look for a pharmacy nearby and check the protein in her urine(very important).
She should rest very well also.
Thanks. Will pursue the urine test option first. Then we'll see what happens from there. Thanks. Very really appreciate.

please take her to a very good hospital o..although it can be nothing ...but is better to be safe ...there is something called preeclamsia that occurs during the second semester for some pregnant woman. The symptoms are severe headache, high blood pressure and protein in the urine..if its not treated..the baby in the womb can end up dead..as it wouldn't be nourished from the mothers placenta..the mom can end up dead too... I will advice you to by a blood pressure monitor ..its about 8000 upward... Just to be sure . I had preeclamsia with my first child.. I started having severe headaches from second semester... Followed by hbp and proteins in d urine....they had to do an emergency c section for me at seven months ..even when I felt normal...thankfully there was no complications with the child ...he was just so small.
Thanks ma'am. Honestly I've read a few about that. That's why I'm quite scared. But just thought to monitor it for a while and she isn't so keen with going to the hospital right now with all the covid-19 stuff happening. But the consolation I have now is that the headaches happen when she wakes in the morning till like midday and that's all (don't know if that's any consolation tho'). She's feeling quite alright and up and about as I write this now. From what I read, preempclapsia headache isn't limited to just mornings. What d'you think ma?

Hello mothers.
We're expecting our second child and wifey is in her 15th week. First trimester went as smoothly as the first pregnancy. No morning sickness, no vomiting, no fatigue or anything. This pregnancy was like that until a few days ago. She started complaining about headaches and all. Told her to rest and Dr asked her to take paracetamol at a time. Butthe headache this morning was apparently terrible because she stayed in bed all morning and nagged and complained about it (she almost never complains). I called the doctor and he asked us to tie a damp towel around her head. After a while, the headaches magically vanished.
Mothers please what is the cause and what is expected of us? Is there anything we're meant to do. Someone said it may be a lack of magnesium. But she takes pregnacare and I thought pregnacare contains the right amount of magnesium supplement for a pregnant woman. Please mothers.
God bless you all and may God deliver all those who are due. (NB. I have been a silent member of this group for years).
