He is good with the explanation however upon enlistment one would realize it is not a smooth sail or as straight forward as he put it, as expected & unexpected challenges pop up. In some cases a SSC officer may not get to where a DSSC officer would, despite the opportunity for SSC officers to go far, nothing is certain.

Although i hvn't heard anything like 10years short service, but if it happens 2 exist, there shld also be a 'Long service' as well. Meanwhile whats the nature of their training fr short service and Does the conversion 2 long service requires more training? Thts my humble questn.

Hahaha Long service,you are funny.Only regular officer cadets who spend 5 years at NDA have that luxury,no conversation drama. Well the nature is a very long story, those who have passed through it would be in a better position to give you the details. From what I've heard, written & some physical tests would be conducted ( I stand to be corrected) & there is this issue of conversation being based on availability of slots.

yes, it is called short service for that very reason. Every service gives you a time frame within which you would need to convert & continue service otherwise you retire. Like for NA DSSC one can attempt conversion yearly after 3 years of active duty & if you fail to do so by the 9th year you cant anymore. Im sure with time & further research you would get to know how it is with the NN, although it might be the same going by the way the HTACOS is structured.

Hydro is talking about the Navy DSSC i believe, as NA SSC/DSSC isn't on yet. the whatsapp group is for NA peeps,you can learn stuff from them tho.

Don't you think if it were actually so they would differentiate it as you have explained? Only the army does that & SSC is actually short service combatant,that's why any kind of discipline is acceptable.. Anyway this is not a battle for who knows everything, its is a thread for peeps to gain more knowledge & understanding so its all good.

NN DSSC only you mean. The Navy doesn't do SSC.

An SSCE holder can't apply for dssc, but can apply for NAF BMTC which is for airmen/airwomen, the application process is going on at the moment .

NAF is still on a maybe, anything can happen though .

Bushhunter you are wrong on that, a graduate with a third class result cannot apply. They state 2:2 is the least class acceptable, in fact NN states 2:1 as their least. Maybe you have never noticed but they state it.

Do not be mistaken, Depot is where RRI (Regular Recruit Intake) train, it is located in Zaria. It is not a general name for training grounds.
