Emperor Constantine unify the religions in Rome and tried using the identity of Jesus to market the Roman traditions. His plans backfired. The World accepted the existence of Jesus and rejected the Roman traditions which led to the collapse of the Roman Empire.
Today, some churches are using the identity of Jesus to market Gay marriage but it will also backfire! Some fake pastors in Nigeria are also using the identity of Jesus to practise their magics and voodoo powers. The judgement of God awaits them .
However all this does not invalidate the existence of Jesus. You can only use a genuine product to market a bad product. That is what these people are doing with the identity of Jesus Christ.
I disagree with you that the few christains that sincerely believe in Jesus Christ are gullible. The disciples of Jesus were accused of being gullible by the Roman Government.
However today , these disciples are more popular across the world than all the Emperors that ruled Rome. Peter is more popular in the Catholic Church than Emperor Constantine hence some Catholic claims that thier founder is Peter.
The foolishness of God is better than the wisdom of Men. Hence if it takes being gullible for Jesus Christ to make a name in this world and in heaven, is it not better to become gullible for Him?
I do base what l post here on facts. The Oldest religious scrolls found in Israel dating back to the time of Jesus Christ have no mention of Jesus Christ. It only mentions the teacher of righteousness and the religious community called the Essenes. The teacher of righteousness was the head of the community, they did practice water purification and they were against what was going on in the temple at the time which led to them starting their own religious community.
The teachings of the Essence must have been what was taken to Rome by those that have been converted earlier and after Rome destroyed the community, they then modified it to include Jesus Christ from a Roman/Greek pagan belief that their gods do mate with their women to produce their rulers.
There are no historical records of the apostles, stories about them are only in the New Testament and from legends. Historical records during the time of Jesus Christ by Philo of Alexandria, also called Philo Judaeus, a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher who lived in Alexandria, in the Roman province of Egypt only described Caesar Augustus as the son of god but no mention of Jesus Christ.

Now the issue is this, after the regime of the emperor, why was such believe not abolished outside the Roman Emperor? Since the Roman empire are no longer influencial in the world, why do Christians still believe the existence of Jesus.
Now over the years, many churches broke out of the Roman Catholic Church and expose some false teachings in the Catholic church. Did any of the churches doubt the existence of Jesus.
Even Islam which is not related to Christianity validated the existence of Jesus Christ.

The Roman Empire discovered that they can no longer deny the existence of Jesus after they killed Him and His disciples hence they decided to mix the teachings of Jesus with their own traditions in other to make their kingdom more popular.
That is the point you are trying to raise. The dirty bath water does not invalidate the existence of the baby. The demonic traditions of the Roman people does not invalidate the existence of Jesus.
That is the reason all other churches that are against the Roman tradition parctise in Roman Catholic church still believe in the existence and Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Emperor Constantine used Christainity to unify all the different religions in Rome at the time. From my personal experience I find those who say they are following Jesus Christ are just using it as a cover for other stuff they are into and those who truly believe in Jesus Christ are just the gullible ones.
Did you know that the **** was founded by an Anglican pastor? During the colonial period the missionaries who brought Jesus Christ to Nigeria were aware of this. So churches that broke out of the Roman Catholic Church does not mean they got closer to the TRUE GOD of the Old Testament.
