Farfalla: Not just Equity Bank Mindlog. All the other banks that have been around even before we were born; the likes of Standard Chartered, Absa (formerly Barclays), NCBA (formerly NIC & CBA), Cooperative Bank and DTB no go gree shift for Access, unless the latter is introducing a very new (and probably risky) product into the market, targeting both business establishments and individuals.
I'm curious to uncover what big plans they have for National Bank of Kenya as they have an extremely unimpressive financial history. This a company which at one point was the only bank in Kenya running losses. It was controlled by the state, so politicians would borrow millions of shillings and deliberately default on payment. Needless to say, it went downhill, like any other thing involving Kenyan politicians. KCB Group then acquired the dying company and it seems they've been unable to resuscitate it, hence the move to sell it to Access. If NBK was a country it would be Chad. Purchasing such a company is usually not advised, but then again, what do I know? |

blowjohn: Did u read the heading ? I read the entire story. I am very much aware of Access bank in Kenya because I have an account with Access bank in Nairobi through their acquisition of another distressed Kenyan bank, few years ago. Equity bank in my post is in the context of being the most popular bank in Kenya and have the widest spread in East Africa. |

These names are all fake and cooked up to deceive gullible Nigerians. Of course, the names have that random feel as there are no pictures to back them up. |

Zahra29: Correct. NHS roles, and all roles outside codes 6145 and 6146, are still allowed to bring in dependants as long as the normal conditions are met. Thanks. Another question, if one is already sponsored (almost 2 years out of the 5yrs) under code 6145 and intends switching over to a role within code 2212 (Psychologist), will that 2 years be discontinued and have the person start afresh on a new 5 years count or that 2 years will be applicable and have 3 more years to complete it? |

Svoboda: Its india. China is the US. It is China. Those Chinese students either come from financially comfortable homes or are on scholarships and very few come with dependants, reason the discontinuation of dependant visas will not negatively affect numbers coming from China.

Zahra29: Yes, as it's only occupation codes 6145 and 6146 that are in the dependant ban. NHS nursing assistant roles have a different code. So it means anyone with the occupation code 2212: Psychologists (Clinical psychologist. Educational psychologist, Forensic psychologist, Occupational psychologist, Psychologist. Psychometrist) can come over with their dependants when issued COS? |

MT: Everything has to go tribal way with you folks,
I was actually asking where they were getting data.
Can we rely on ANY data including that of National Bureau of Statistics?
Data in Nigeria are mostly unreliable. We all know it.
Reliable data would have greatly helped this country but hell no, they keep manufacturing data, which is counter productive. Is there any linkage between Anambra and Imo being the 2 States with the lowest out of school children, also being the top 2 States' cut off-marks in National Common entrance examination? |

tensazangetsu20: Na wa o. I thought london was one the top global financial centers. Why is it then hard to get a job in finance? You must be exceptional to cut through and get a sponsored job in that field. Hot heads from top rated Unis have higher chances. Health and social care have more sponsored roles opportunities. |

Exceed15: I said most people. God is on your side that's why . I have couple of friends who came back after completing their studies. I think they are just interested in our money. I won't discount God's grace and favour but many who came over, didn't research well before the leap. Majority of Nigerians students clearly proved they just joined into the bandwagon, many said the agents who helps in processing their admission and visas chose University and courses for them! You come over to do the UK to do a Masters in Business Administration, abeg which UK company are you expecting to hire you and sponsor your 5 years skilled worker visa? I told someone who wanted to come to the UK for his studies, he said it is Msc Finance and I advised him that chances of getting a sponsored job in that field is very slim, gave him alternatives that are more realistic but the guy ghosted me and in his mind I was an "enemy of progress". He came over for his dream course: Msc Finance, graduated and presently in his second year of the 2 years post study work visa working in a warehouse through an agency earning £11.47 per hour before deductions. |
