tete7000: Everything to mumus is rubbish until they turn things on its end. One year is almost gone with nothing to show for the government bragado, four years is just around the corner. Let's see where the gragra would have taken the country by then. I have nothing more to talk with you. PMB is doing very fine. His government of change deserves a pat on the back. One year is far from enough, they will need four to eight years for us to start judging them. There's plenty of time, so let's not bother to engage and continually remind the present government to deliver in a country where past regimes have been known to fail/disappoint. Maybe fact that it's Buhari is enough for us to conclude it is uhuru. |

eyeview: Am not a bit surprised at the action of Babatunde Fashola. It is very typical of him. He is a man whose belief system is that if you want anything from govt, you must be ready to pay for it,despite any huge cost you are already paying and the poor quality you've been getting. He is not a man known for consumer friendly policies. I told some people when Fashola was made minister that Nigerians should be ready to pay thru their noses for everything under his ministries. Today,my prediction (which wasn't hard to come by if you know Fashola's antecedents)has come true. Now we are dealing with a 45% increase in electricity tarriff, even when the quality of power supply has since nose-dived. And in his typical characteristic,he will appeal to the masses to accept the 'premium' for an improved quality service. When done,we all can be rest assured that the toll gates will be fully re-introduced on our roads and he will urge all to accept it too for an improved road network. Nigerians should join us to 'enjoy' the Fashola style of administration. Whatever, we must all embrace this as part of the change that is being mouthed every where. Let keep trying to understand and explaining why this regimes early disappointment is reasonable and acceptable, rather than begin to tackle them from all fronts to ensure they don't let us down! |

It can only be good for Kogi people because in Faleke, they risked having their money sent to Lagos at every turn to pay the Jagaban of corruption.
I endorse this move. Yes, we all endorse this illegality. Faleke would have been paying just the way Fashola totally agreed with Tinubu, the Jagaban of change. |

Got no love for both of them, but this issue is sitting on a keg of gunpowder. Hopefully, it doesn't blow up in our faces. Let the Nigerian police and army continue with the good job of killings unarmed protesters. It is the best way to handle such civil protests and it's healthy for our democracy, and will help foster peace and national unity. 3Ceagle: Don't mix things up the Biafra issue is an ideology thing just as Soyinka pointed out. Ideologies are hard to die, even though individuals do. Countries are built on ideology not by guns and brutal force. Nigerians who really care about this country should work towards collapsing those sectional ideologies to one, which encompasses all. We are as a people should be careful in what we say and do. No people in this country is greater than other, let there be justice and equity and see how all these tribal ideologies and sentiment will become silent. killing Saro Wiwa did not stop agitation in the ND, rather it rose to another level. Exactly my thoughts, which many seem to take likely. Using unnecessary force on sensitive issues like will further polarize the country . |

TimeManager: @ mindtricks, Sometimes, i wondered at some unbelivably disappointing reasoning of some few nigerians who pose pretense at the crashing recklessness of our collective patrimony for 16 years successively. I rather ask of you to go estimate the staggering losses & damages to the time required to fixing it, perhaps, you will learn to use wisely the "slow pace" term you continually harp on. If you do not know that the budget kicks off by march & preliminary programmes are on ground, then i can't help you. The truth has spoken! Forget the story. All this assumption that the Messiah has come does not appeal. Let the old man deliver, and thus earn the credit afterwards. We can't continue at this snail pace. Even the so called people that caused the touted 16 years mismanagement are still part of this change government. Let this regime perform is all that matters. |

The present Buhari's govt owes Nigerians the duty to deliver and in a remarkably unprecedented way, going by the unusual circumstance in which, and goodwill with which they found themselves in power.
Such below average performance as obtains is not acceptable.

Buhari should set good examples for others to follow in this country. And many of those who have been shedding blood, day and night are roaming free in our streets without issues. Buhari has ended up making him a name to be known. Whatever ill results from this case, might only further aggravate the disunity amongst us. |
