Also, it is not like WB was afraid to fund joker, they just gave Christopher Nolan $225 for an original movie. They were afraid of making a joker movie, Todd Philips had to convince WB to let him do the movie for one a year and when WB decided to give in on his pleas, other smaller production company decided to invest in the movie because they know what joker can do. They did the same thing last year with a star is born.

Unlike other movie studios, WB is willing to share their own IP with other production company and even movie studios that are interested. They did it with TMNT to Paramount. What matters is that the IP is their and they are the company that will distribute it worldwide. They only share the gross with other companies that decided to invest with them(sportsmanship).

Nah, joker is $90m that's why it has to reach $970m to top the mask. Hopefully, when awards season starts and joker re expands, it would get there. As for legs, that one is unquestionably strong. It bested maleficent in most European markets and Japan last week. Infact, it had a 36% increase in Japan and this week new releases are weak. My prediction is that joker would top this week or narrowly beaten by maleficent by a million higher
