Maybe I'm the only one who hasn't given up hope, and my reason is because SA still has Rwanda to play. Rwanda will fancy their chances to make it to the world cup, and they have an axe to grind due to the political tensions between the two countries considering SA's role in the DRC where the Rwandan backed M16 was doing some clean up.

SA will either lose that match or get a draw at best to remain in 11 points after being ducked 3 points.

I will say it again, I always fancy our chances against SA in SA. There is no better place for the eagles to play against SA than in SA.
i fancy us doing well in these games
Les v Nig (away match) october
SA v Nig (away match) september

but you see these games
Nig vs Rwa (home match) september
Nig vs Ben(home match) october
i dey fear super eagles…they can play rubbish at home

The site I got the result of Super Eagles matches under Gernot Rohr misled me but it doesn't invalidate my main point.

The Super Eagles have had defensive frailties for a long time, and the team hardly kept clean sheets.
ohkkk, but sha im not after the point, im after the information in your text…it’s necessary

I guess it just won't count towards our fifa ranking. They still played against Zambia on the 25th of this month beating them 5-0 and so far I'm yet to see any news about ban against zambia
to be in a safe side, NFF should avoid them oo

semid4lyfe:
Since the final days of Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles have struggled defensively, finding it difficult to keep a clean sheet.

◾Sierra Leone came from behind to draw 4-4 in Benin City.
Benin Republic defeated us 1-0 in Porto-Novo.
◾Cape Verde beat us 2-1 in Mindelo.

◾Central African Republic stunned us 1-0 in Lagos.
◾Cape Verde held us to a 1-1 draw in Lagos.

Even under José Peseiro, the same defensive frailties persisted, with the team conceding goals to supposed african minnows we should have handled comfortably:

◾Nigeria 2-1 Sierra Leone
◾Nigeria 0-1 Guinea-Bissau
◾Sierra Leone 2-3 Nigeria
◾Mozambique 2-3 Nigeria
◾Nigeria 1-1 Lesotho
◾Zimbabwe 1-1 Nigeria
◾Guinea 2-0 Nigeria

The breaking point came at AFCON when we drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea. That was when Peseiro finally acknowledged we had a defensive problem.

His solution? Switch to a five-man defense—three center-backs and two wing-backs (Ajayi, Ekong, Bassey, Aina, and Zaidu). The result? A vastly improved defense that didn't concede until the semi-finals.

Finidi George should have stuck with that system, but instead, he let armchair analysts dictate his tactics with their "You can't play five at the back against African minnows." "The best teams in the world play a back four", "Our strength is in our attack"etc nonsense talk, And so, he reverted to a four-man defense —conceding three goals in two games and managing just one point.

Now, enter Eric Chelle. After two games, he already looks like a rigid coach stuck on playing a 4-4-2 diamond—even with the wrong personnel. If we were to face Spain or Argentina, I wouldn’t be surprised if he stubbornly sticks to the same 4-4-2.

His squad selection also raises eyebrows. Dropping Frank Onyeka from the 23-man squad makes me wonder if he even reviewed our AFCON matches. How do you watch those games and decide Onyeka isn’t needed? He was our midfield engine—running, marking, covering every blade of grass, harassing opponents non-stop.

Even his lineup choices are questionable. Sticking with the same starting XI from the Rwanda game against Zimbabwe suggests he didn’t study the Rwanda match properly. If he had, Chukwueze, Osayi, and Ndidi shouldn’t have started against Zimbabwe.

Furthermore. his game management seems poor. Sometimes, 1 goal is enough. The team just needs to play defensively, park the bus, protect the lead and grind out the result.

Moving forward, Eric Chelle must be dynamic and show tactical flexibility, play players in their best positions, make bold decisions, and bench underperformers when necessary. The Super Eagles cannot afford another tactically stubborn coach.

South Africa scares me. That team is more or less a club team so their understanding and chemistry is high.

They press, mark, joggle and pass the ball well. They're a well drilled team.

If I were Eric Chelle, I'll go full Italian Catenaccio on their asses by adopting and playing a tactical formation that prioritizes a solid defense, disciplined man-marking and counter attacks.

Super Eagles have to beat SA in SA, there's no other way.
under Rohr
we did not lose to Benin in Portnovo(Ben 0-1 Nig)
we did not lose to cape verde in mindelo(CPV 1-2)

3 points will surely be docked from the South Africans.

Come September, NFF stooges and AE should pad the list with names of players who they are trying to market. Idiots in the glass house.
If Eric Chelle likes ,let him allow himself to be used as a tool to destroy his career and the team chances of getting to the world cup.
Anything can happen in the last 4 games.

Perhaps it is written in the constellations that Nigeria will qualify for the world cup.

Players who are not ready to fight should feign injury or conjure any excuse to miss the games.
Players who are ready to sweat and bleed for the flag are begging to be invited.

No room for lazy players come September.

There are so many players out there who can add depth and steel to the team.
If NFF, Eric Chelle and AE like ,let them use the team for experiment and cash out.

Make them no use kalukalu select players o
Two Osimhen in front, Two Osimhen in the middle,Two Osimhen at the back, 1 Osimhen atbthe goal post and then Two Osimhen in the bench…this is what we need in super eagles…no room for Laziness at all ooo

This group is still very open
SA no doubt are the best team in this group, but you see that power they are giving to Lesotho, and that breathing space they are giving to Nigeria will hint them….i prefer to watch super eagles away than watch them in Abuja or Uyo, they have successfully made us the underdog in this group, them go too xenophobic our brothers over there if we shock them in their country in september…..like this i agree we no good, but im sure at the Afcon the round 16 match between CIV and Senegal was already a walk over for so many fans of senegal…the thing shock them….9ja is very poor but you see that Mentality we have over SA is what is keeping us well guarded against them…they played us clean clean at the afcon but we sent them packing

imagine All other strikers 6 games 0 zero goal
Osimhen 2games 3goals
only iheanacho cam just sneak in his big belle to claim 1goal……
Osimhen belongs to the super eagles of 1994 to 2004.
Players Like Amokachi,Amunike,Yekini,Ikepba,Oliseh,Okocha,Martins,Aghahowa,Siasia,Uche Okechkwu,Babngida,Osaze, utaka and OSIMHEN is what we want in super eagles…

SA should better keep up their form till end of qualifiers, their own heart break will be so bad if they deduct that point and award 3-0 to lesotho….
Lesotho will now move to 9pts, 1points behind SA who will now be on 10points….hmmmm i so laugh at this qualifiers 🤣🤣….we dey play rubbish and SA is allowing us keep close tab with them🤣🤣hahahahahahaha i just pity those guys…it’s looking like football odds are against them…if them go dare deduct that point and group turns into
SA 10
Les 9
Ben 8

So guys we re still in it …3points will be deducted from SA CONFIRMED.
iffa hear say i give up make i knw wetin cos am…SA deserve to be at the world cup, that one na them concern, if we see a spot to be stolen legally oga we go tiff that spot, by that time SA will now realize that there is a particular witch-hunting 9ja football has over theirs…if them deduct 3points from SA if i no blow the whistle of world cup qualification hope for this page mae i know wetin cos…shey CIV deserve to win afcon ni….people wey dem dey beat blue black for group stage, just from no where steal qualification to round 16 and boom they are lifting the cup….1 thing i feel about CHELLE im sure he has seen the eba players in this squad and wont wanna go with them in september fixtures….make FIFA/CAF no just tell CHELLE say dem don deduct SA point oo, else he will set his eyes on a possible qualification again oo

the next thing they don bring press conference picture to abuse Nff, Rwanda wey get fine press conference staging no be 2-0 and 1-1 they play in their last games…..these super eagles need the fight mentality….fuckingly free forget about NFF, the players on the pitch should be able to grind out result….everytime una dey blame NFF, oga sir and madams, NFF and chelle has 0% blame in our poor game yesterday….of everyone cam fight like osimhen we no go remember to blame coach and NFF…..quota system quota system bla bla bla

abeg if na only me for Nigeria go mumuly dey follow super eagles till last match day, ehhn leave am like that no wahala…let me be a loyal mumu no p

what we dont know is that even with Finidi and Jpes starting poorly, if they both had started Osimhen in their games, out of those 4poor games we started we for no loose any one, it would have been like 2wins and 2draws…sadly osimhen was injured in those 4games….Lets just accept it that osimhen is the alpha and omega of this generation of super eagles…
He was the one that dragged us to the final of Afcon
Highest goat scorer 2021 Afcon qualifiers
Highest goal scorer 2023 Afcon qualifiers.
if una like employ guardiola and change NFF to angels in heaven, if osimhen is not in thw squad we will most likely lose or atleast get a draw in our games…infact i support that osimhen should act as coach on the field “blast anybody papa wey dey play nonsense” if lookman suppose pass to him and e no pass the ball, blast the werey papa”
“if boniface dey sluggish for field, osimhen blast him papa”…..e sure me if osimhen miss 100 chances in a match he will redeem himself with a goal or a powerful assist…he has the right to even blast ekong for playing like mumu at the back…

if you like come and beat me or insult me on this my take, i go swear for you….all of you can blame NFF and coach but i will blame the players…if you interview osimhen, going by his rage yesterday after the game he will tell you his team mate are 100% to be blamed…that game was ours yesterday to win
Iwobi ballooning ball inside box 18 anyhow into the crowd
Chukwueze ballooning ball inside box 18 anyhow into the crowd
Ndidi only sweet opportunity inside box 18 could not aim and target at goal
Lookman though was very active but trying to play and score those kinda solo goals he scores for atalanta but failed at it severally
Ekong no fit clear ball or charge a striker off our box 18, till they got a goal…
Super eagles let themselves down….
CHELLE was on point with his substitution, nothing wey anybody wan tell me.
These same players went away to beat Rwanda.
When they win it is obviously Osimhen effort, when they play poor game it is NFF and coach mistake…tufiakwa!!…for Chelle to success all players need to be a fighter like Osimhen.
There was a particular point 3defenders try to all their best to wrestle Osimhen, the guy was fighting back…see this is Africa and thats how everyone on that squad should play…fight aggressively
fight!
fight!
fight!!
If you like invite Uche,Dessers,Onyeka,Orban, if they cant fight aggressively like Osimhen, na NFF las las una go stil blame…
Anyways im entitled to my opinion, we are 1point behind 2nd and 3rd team and 6points behind SA with 4more games to go…..
Until match day 10 before i go comot eyes for world cup….you all can prepare for Afcon oo its your choice, but as for MinFelix, im still playing my WCQ to win games starting from the;
Nig v Rwa(play well and beat them) to SA v Nig(play well and draw them) to Les vs Nig(Play well and beat them) to Nig v Ben(play well and beat) o pari…if Afcon time reach i go start dey prepare for that one
