For those that want the sack of Peseiro una for pray make Nigeria no qualify to Afcon 2024 so they will sack him. Do you guys expect NFF to relieve him after meeting target 1🤣?….they already setting target 2 for him(get to afcon semifinals)😃

so we are playing a total of 10matches in this qualifiers, omo its gonna be a long ride to 2026, if we can win our first 6games🤣(which is a huge task oo) then we should be smelling the world cup closer, now the question is who are we starting against and down to the 6th game..abeg we need fixtures so we can start our winning probabilities with a possible calculator 🤣…omo its gonna be shame if we fai to qualify again sha🥺…we just need to qualify from the group, i just checked the other qualifying alternatives which is via play off omo that thing na real stress ooo🤣🤣..from qualifiers to mini-tournament(caf) then to another mini tournament Fifa level, then final face to face before your can qualify…that one na stress dieeee🤮

So, a National team can play that way. Now, it took Guardiola two weeks to get Manchester City playing like Barcelona and took Thomas Tuchel one training session to get Chelsea to break the Premier league passing record.

It is a myth to believe that National teams can't play impressive possessive offensive play.

Give Super Eagles to Thomas Tuchel and give him a year to build the Super Eagles and we will play prime offensive possessive play. Same with Guardiola.

Unfortunately, most of these coaches hardly line up for National teams in their prime.

Finito.

it took him two weeks to spend huge on signing topnotch and quality players from top clubside and they play week in week out, oga can u compare it to national team football whose players are scattered around different clubsides(top leagues + semi class league+ backwater leagues)…once again to coach a spanish team filled with almost barca and madrid player is a far far from what u are expecting from super eagles whether guardiola coaches us or not

Bolded is a myth. The thing is that the best coaches in their prime hardly coach national teams.

Spain over the years have proven that it is possible to play possessive offensive patterns with national teams.

The clip belows highlight Spain's plays.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8xSnPoOyuE

comparing a spainsh team filled with 5 to 6 barca players and 4 to 5 madrid players and like 2athletico madrid player to a Nigerian team of 1 napoli, 1 everton, 2leicester city , 1 villareal, 1 porto, 1nottigham and all other division 2 or some ekuke league…bros do you know playing chemistry and understanding will hugely be a difference here

In that regards absolutely false as Ethiopia partook in the Nations Cup before Nigeria and won a Nations Cup before Nigeria using the argument of Past Nations Cup winner cited by one of you. It was not an upset.

Bros 1962 afcon when there were still 4teams participation🤣🤣…..as at 1994 Ethiopia 🇪🇹 where back to their minnows level
All those sudan, ethiopia bla bla that won afcon before we gained independence are now back to their minnows status…their minnow status began immediately after some of them won afcon those years

Ethiopia beat us 1-0 in Addis Ababa not Lagos, Enugu or Ibadan(where Super Eagles more often played home matches). Uganda could not beat us in Kampala even with their dreaded Majid Musisi or however his surname was spelt then.
I don't remember Rufai being in goal for the 0-1 loss to Ethiopia. He was the Captain for the 6-0 drubbing of Ethiopia and scored a penalty kick goal in the match.
whether home or away the 1-0 was upset, my point remains we weren’t a 100% perfect team

i dont need to watch it all im saying is that even in our perceived golden days we were also being schooled.. whether building or not before that game we were once afcon champions, so much for a former afcon champ being beaten 5-1…rebuilding or not that was too much we no be lesotho or comoros…but all the same westerhorf was a masterclass coach

I WATCHED TUNISIA 94 AND WE WERE TACTICALLY BETTER HENCE WE WON THE FINALS. WE WERE ONLY OUTPLAYED BY THE MICHEL BASSOLE IVORIEN TEAM IN THE SEMI FINALS.
POINTS WAS WESTERHOF REBUILT A TEAM MAINLY ON HOME BASED PLAYERS AND BOUNCED BACK FROM A 5-1 OPENINGDEFEAT TO GET TO THE FINAL SO MUCH FOR A MORAL BOOSTING COACH THAT WENT BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD TO GET HIS ACTS RIGHT IN THE NEXT GAME.
i will never downplay baba westerhorf achievements and his technical and tactical input…my own is that we also struggled with some lesser teams during his time

bro i understand we were tactically better but those guys gave us crazy game especially after them taking the lead so much for a second fiddle team..all im saying is that no matter how formidable a Nigerian team can be some of these lesser teams to us will still play us correct game and even at some point dominate proceedings

watching the highlight of the match posted by oga Basco, its safe to that super eagles were wasteful meeehhn osimhen two goals plus chukwueze two one on one misses plus osimhen ruled out goal..we for don wire them 5-0 first half, although they would be hoping to do another comeback..we should learn to kill off these games

Try and be objective. Did you watch the Algeria v Nigeria opening match at Algiers 90? We were outclassed and beaten 5-1(Our only goal scored by Emmanuel Okocha. Westerhof was rebuilding with a greater than 70% home based team save for Rashidi Yekini at Africa Sports of Ivory Coast, Herbert Anijekwu and one other foreign based player. After that game we beat Ivory Coast and Egypt (1-0) respectively in the remaining group matches, Zambia (2-0) in the Semi Finals and lost to Algeria(0-1) in the finals. Save for the away loss to Cameroun(0-1) enroute Italia 90 where most foreign based were dismal that made Westerhof resort to rebuilding and the (5-1) eye opener (but rallying back to reach the finals was no mean feat) we played good football and obtained results unfer Westerhof and Home-based players were not a risk for him as they also delivered.
will you give rohr or jpes a chance if morocco trash us 5-1 or even beat us 1-0 next year afcon opening game…im very sure fans back then would also be this arrogant if westerhorf plays any ugly game or u think trom 1990 to 1994 westerhorf played a 100% clean games…go and rewatch Tunisia 94 and see the way zambia played us even with a second team after loosing there main team to a tragic loss…we just believe we should be dominating and winning everything…even after a hard fought winning we go still dey arrogant

Mehn, you guys keep pushing this result as if it is something.

Morocco were without their first choice midfield 3 vs SA because qualification had been secured.

No Amrabat, No Ounahi, No Amallah. Even Bonou was rested. No way SA wins vs a Complete Moroccan XI.

Nigerian fans are so/too arrogant that we believe we can walk into the pitch against any team dominate and beat them hands-down because of one perception of we were once fearless on the african soil and we are playing teams ranked 70,115,95 bla bla…
you beat a stubborn s/leone 2-3 that dealt with CIV/Algeria at afcon in an away match you still have the right to talk shhhhiii..
My own is even from the days of westerhorf,Keshi, jo bonfre we had so many ugly and beautiful matches we played.
no be keshi’s eagles congo come beat 3-2 for our home, and kenya come play 1-1 for home, abi no be under westerhorf wey chop 5-1 (which i dont believe we dominated we were simply outplayed and beaten like thief) in our afcon opening match before going all the way to the final?…We are just to arrogant to imagine a team can at some point in the course of a match outplay us..most fans just want to constantly see Nigeria outplay,Dominate possession and win ALL GAMES against opponents.
and the funniest fact is even we beat lesser team who managed to score against us it means we have played rubbish and they will tag it as individual brilliance and rubbish the coach.
im very sure 20 to 30yrs from now generation of football lovers will at that time wish to have a team in the mould and shape of 2013&2014 (2017 to 2024….

I repeat, I don't believe we can not build a side that can match Argentina at U20 levels in talent and tactics. It is down to our selection and preparation.

So, I said, we should not get too excited about the win because we were dominated and outplayed. It is so simple.
oga if you no wan get excited, ngwanu leave am na, we love what our boys did, you can carry on looking for a team that will dominate a powerhouse host nation infront of their crowd…till this world go end we can never play like Germany or Spain..we were not built to play that way..it can only happen in u17level…any 9ja team you have watched over the years beating powerhouse countries (like spain, germany, brazil etc) or causing an upset is not becos we dominated playing tiki taka or because we had a coach who can make a Nigerian side dominate/play tikitaka …its simply:
1. it was our time to shine small(more like a fairytale run)
2. our ghen-ghen pressing of mass defense and counter attack
go and check all our wins or even some of our beautiful performances/losses during westerhof time
against argentina and italy in 1994 those teams dominated us, we were marching them man for man with our own african style(ghen-ghen/mass defense/counter attack style) we didn’t dominate anything..they were doing the playing while were shocking them with goals….stop watching too much of EPL and expecting a certain “Nigerian” team to come and be dominating Brazil…na lie you cant see it in your life time
if we dare take the lead over any football powerhouse oga dem go lock us down inside our box 18 knock our life tire..be you any coach hired!
i will only be angry if teams way way lesser to us start dominating us, or our mates like Ghana,Cameroon,Egypt, these are the teams that will dominate and outplay us that will get me angry

Just shut up, guy. We created the best chances before our goal.
After we scored, do you expect Argentina with their pedigree at that level playing at home not to press forward in search of a goal? Seriously or are you just being myopic?

How many chances did the Argentines created before we scored? We could have scored more on the counter too. We even hit the post first.
