Bro , I’ve been insulted plenty of times here already 😂. But it’s social media , everyone is Brock Lesnar online. Half the weaklings throwing insults wouldn’t have the nerve to say it to my face.

Also, I didn’t call him a coward as a person but imagine you are a soldier and you see your commander running away from gunfire? lol.

Osimhen, lookman and Iwobi are forward players. Imagine playing attacking position and shying away from penalties in big 2026.I swear football is dying. These players are more afraid of failing than focused on winning.

When some fans say “the pressure was too much”, it sounds like these players are not built for the very environment they live in. It’s a really big issue because they’ve shown time and time again that mentally they can’t cope with the pressure which makes sense why they’re not going to the World Cup..
you have a point baba🙌🏻….seriously i wonder why our attackers are scare of pk….
You dey wine Obafemi Martins for 2006 and 2010 afcon?
You dey wine Nsofor for 2006 and 2010 afcon?
Even Kanu,Mikel,Yekini are all fearless penalty takers…na this set of super eagles i dey see say our attack minded players dey run for pk🤣🤣
No lookman
No Akor
No Osimhen
No Iwobi

chai our potent starting front three missing in a prnalty shootout…
same thing last afcon
No Lookman
No Osimhen
it was a substitute Moffi that summon courage to start that PK shootout

walai dey are really scared of pressure

Another takeaway from this Afcon is for us to be cautious with the way we manage our most experienced players. In our last afcon semi final win against SA, we had experienced players like Ekong, Omeruo, and Iheanacho taking pks. I believe Ekong still has a role in this present Afcon, especially with his performance at the last Afcon. Let's ensure we are not too quick to retire our very experienced players who could still offer some benefit to us. We may still need Ndidi and Iwobi for the next three or more years if they are still fit. Simon can go, Chuks, we can still manage.
One person say they should retire Iwobi after this afcon

Dem no dey see Senegal, imagine Mane no shoot that ball! This our team has done excellently, but lessons must be learnt well.
omo bro just calm down go watch

Simple he played a weak penalty and unfortunately the keeper went that direction and calmly caught it….i will still stand and say “If Bono had wrongly read his direction and went the wrong way, we go call am sweet placing”…

anyways all blame goes to Chukwueze for not adding power to his shot…
all this “he was smiling and chewing gum okocha did worst at france 98 vs Denmark(shey okocha purposely sabotaged the team?🤣)

Always gets injured right before PKs. Always!! Stay on the pitch for fvcking crying out loud!!!

Freaking weak and coward mentality. If you miss, you miss.. Fans might be upset but at least you had the courage to take the shot. Letting defenders or substitutes take penalties instead of you should never happen even if you’re injured or tired. Stand up and take it!!! Dude is never a point of difference to get us any trophy anyways.
i saw this and skipped the post, in as much as my inner inner mind may wanna agree, i just chose to remain mute🤣🤣, make dem no start ti insult me here again…
although i feel you are too harsh on the said person you are trying to criticize…left to me, i think he should also be amongst penalty takers…he needs to lead the team as a captain that he is…
but i wont agree with you calling him a coward, even though the situation may wanna make him look like such, but i refuse to borrow that language from you😅😅
He is not a coward, he is just suffering from penalty PTSD

It was not ill - luck. It was deliberate sabotage.

How would the goalkeeper not catch the ball? Even you, you go catch that ball. He positioned his body, telling the Gk where he wanted to play the ball, then as if that was not enough, he passed the ball to the Gk.

You are coming to play penalty at a semi final oo. This boy do us wetin no good.
baba nothing deliberate….i will blame chukwu for not hitting the shot well….baba if Bono go wrong way, he wont catch the ball simple…

But
You guys don't get it. Nobody is blaming him for missing his penalty. Bruno missed too. Nobody blames him.

Chukwueze's blame stems from his indifferent, e-no-concern me attitude before and after taking the penalty. And I maintain that he deliberately missed the Pk.

Omeruo was calm and collected. Chukwueze was nonchalant. Not the same.

If Chukwueze had scored, believe me we would have won this match.
if he had scored evem with that non chalant attitude, we would have won this match🤣🤣….bro if SA keeper had caught that Omeruo penalty, we go cook Omeruo for life…have you gone back to watch that Omeruo own again…very childish penalty…he was so lucky Williams went the wrong way…that Omeruo penalty too whack and be like secondary school penalty

Same here.

Despite the biased officiating, mammoth home support, pitch familiarity, and absence of Ndidi, Morocco could only defeat us via penalties. That says a lot.

The 2027 AFCON in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will be a more level playing ground and hopefully we can win it.

Eric Chelle has done well. He deserves a long term contract.
The surest way to win afcon is if the afcon knockout stage(quarterfinals/Semifinal) is crowded by less fancied opponets causing upsets on big boys in the previous stage …
maybe like SA removing Morocco to enter the quarterfinals and Benin removing senegal to reach Semifinals and Mali beating Egypt to meet Nigeria at the final….super eagles over the years till date is not looking like a team that can win a final against powerhouse..
Vs Senegal
Vs Morocco
Vs CIV
Vs Ghana
Vs Cameroon
Vs Algeria

make luck just help us align 2027 Afcon knockout stage in this way:👇🏽
Nigeria Vs a lesser opponent (R16) maybe B/faso
Nigeria Vs a Stronger rival (quarterfinals) maybe Egypt
Nigeria Vs a lesser underdog who just made an upset(Semifinal) maybe Capeverde
Nigeria Vs a lesser opponent (Final) South Africa or Zambia

That is what I meant about crumbling. 4 key examples in the past 4 years.

2022 WCQ - Just needed to beat Ghana 2-1 at home. Managed a toothless 1-1 draw and lost on away goals.

2023 AFCON final - See out a 1-0 lead against CIV. We regressed and played our worst match that tourney.

2026 WCQ Playoff - We were outplayed for 120 mins but still didn’t have the composure to convert our kick.

2025 AFCON SF - Played our worst football of the tournament after looking like the team to beat up till the QFs. Again, no composure to convert our kicks.

There’s a mentality issue we have to address.

17 semi-finals, 8 final appearances, 3 titles. Not good enough, simple.
i agree we didn’t play well, but this your “worst football” dey sound like Morocco played us the way we played Algeria and Mozambique

After Onuachu scored, walai na Bassey or Simon for step up next..PTSD no gree those baba come front..
Penalty is any man’s game ooo….but these guys will likely 95% convert their pks for us to win this game…
Lookman
Osimhen
Bashiru
Akor
Onuachu

Morocco coach knew why he left one of Hakimi and Diaz….you cant just yank off senior men when you know pk is nearing…..

imagine the last afcon pk against SA
1. Terem Moffi scored/Mokoena missed (1-0)

2. Omeruo scored(infact almost same style with chuks pk)/Mayambela scored 2-1)

Aina missed(same type of Bassey miss against DRC)/ Magkopa missed (2-1)

3. Ekong scored/Mvala scored (3-2)

4. Iheanacho scored (4-2)

pls let’s not blame chuks that much…same way Omeruo scored his PK against SA was same way chukwu was gonna score his own if Bono had gone the wrong way..

Bashiru, Nnadi, and introduce Ejuke,Chuks, the game plan will not still work out nothing go happen at all at all ajeh, th ose guys you call are not big game changers..…Morocco have seen from our previous games that you dont give super eagles space to enjoy themselves else they will punish you…Morocco sat back yesterday whenever we try to build from the back…they also choked our wing plays…Chuks and Ejuke will just be reduce to school boys performers…a serious senior man game changer is what we needed that yesterday…player in shape of Okocha, that will take ball upon him self and try to dribble from the midfield to locate wingers and strikers

Oga you're too theoretical when it comes to analysis, you don't normally face reality and you're always trying to tell us what to do in a situation when we cannot not do anything.... yesterday game was too obvious that we just need to soak Morocco pressures which we did for 120 minutes, common man Morocco defeated Portugal and Spain to reached World Cup semi final,do you think it was lucky, forget stories, they're the best in Africa, they play good football
i will keep saying, some of the OG’s here on nairaland are losing their post-match analytic credibility….Cameroon suffered a 2-0 loss for not learning that “you dont play morocco pressure for pressure….you calm d game down and slowly build up pass from the back…to me oo, we played them the best football, i knew we were gonna lose in the pk shootout….our boys are not penalty material….but the way we played morocco yesterday,a top team! is just the best way to play them….this is exactly how they played Portugal and spain at the last world cup…and that was Exactly how Italy lifted the 2006 world cup…France tried to build with calm and collected passed but italy was always sitting back to wait for moments of ghen ghen pressure…such games lead to pk or a 1-0 win

sit back, allow your team to build the pass from their defense, then come out and “ghen-ghen press them” then quickly go back again and defend waiting for same cycle to keep reoccurring…these kinda game only lead to penalty shoot out or a 1-0 winner

no b wetin dem use jah spain b that for world cup? no b pk?

even our golden generation dey chop 5-1 against host in 1990 afcon…go and research how our super eagles of old fared against host…the only knockout stage we beat host na senegal 92 for pk shootout…when Senegal were still “underdogs” trying to gain their feet in africa…powerhouse hosts those years dey beat us like tiff
1976 host morocco flog us 2-1
1990 host flog us 5-1 for group stage still flog us 1-0 final

We just need to retain Eric Chelle, let him keep helping us sweep baby african teams…we just need to be qualifying for world cup and afcon tournaments abeg….

Honestly once the game entered extra time I was no longer interested in the final cos if we had won we won’t have been able to win the final as our players will be fatigued against an in-form Senegal. I preferred we bow out in the semi final than having another heartbreak in the final. Once we couldn’t do the business in 90 mins I knew we were done. Check out back in 2013 We did the quarters, semi and finals in 90 mins.
