Wait first, a country that has good football history in
1. Winning Age grade tournaments (U17 WCups)
2. Represented Africa in U20 tournaments and getting as far as the final.
3. Winning all category of medals at Olympic level
4. Lifted Afcon more than once
5. Produced African best footballer of the year more than once
6. Won so many bronze and silver medals at Afcon
7. Heavily and fully strengthened at female football level in Africa with countless trophy.
So because we never reach Quarterfinals for world cup or we no qualify this year makes us a "no footballing nation" abeg gerrout with this stupid submission we are fully a footballing nation..if we are presently poor, our record will still prove us to be a footballing nation....

Pls those that say we are not footballing country
1. Can you give an example of an African footballing country if there is
2. Specify the reason such African country is considered a footballing country over Nigeria.
I agree we are a football loving country, but I need to know why we are not footballing country

My anger level has dropped a bit tonight concerning Africa, I will support Morocco to the last, I'm seeing a semifinal or better still final for them.
North African region has little or no hatred or beef with us soccer wise, though Algeria and Tunisia still has a score to settle with us, as for Morocco they are one the African teams I so love, we don't have any beef nor rivalry with them, so they can go all the way to the final...Amen

Our English as Africa since world inception 1934 is "THEY TRIED" "THEY WON OUR HEART"
See as Ghana jus dey mumu around Uruguay, na so that ode score dey celebrate like Ronaldo grin
The oda manage score one goal against Brazil, e dey comot cloth to show six packs, baba still collect red card.
Those other ones are celebrating that dey defeat world cup champion and meanwhile dancing on their way home (CAF SHOULD PLS SEND TUNISIA AWAY FROM THIS CONTINENT) appear in almost every WC and exiting group stage... and you will still see banana banana still fighting to qualify for worldcup, the one dey hosted them no fit still come out of group stage... Nigeria we kuku be agbaya giant of Africa just give us one legged/half-baked Argentine team and see the way dey will start to press our mumu button..
I'm sure lazy teams like
Zambia
CIV
Local Champion Egypt/Algeria
Banana banana
Gidigbo Mali
And one unfortunate underdog are all waiting for 2026 WC

You will see mad mad top teams beating teams 7-0, 6-1, 5-0 at world cup matches, Africa go dey struggle to win with margin like 2-1,3-2 against Asian teams and Ekuke vulcanizer European teams..
SHAME! NA Quarterfinals Be our expected success as a footballing continent

Make we forget, African ain't ready for top competitive football against top-notch Europeans/South American teams...we are jus exporting players to their league to go mingle and form big boys when they come back home, even if FIFA increase our slot to 54teams at the mundial, if Africa meet teams like
Spain
Brazil
Argentina
England
Germany
Portugal
Uruguay
France
At the knock out stages na sissy we go turn to, forget all those mumu wins we use to flex in group stages of world cup, from our golden generation spreading across other top African teams, our world cup successes are usually fairytale/fluke wins/escape..
Make Spain catch that Morocco tomorrow, una go think say na illeya goat them wan slaughter

Poland was struggling because Argentina made them struggle. Argentina made over 800 passes with over 70 percent control of the game. Poland couldn't even register a shot on target. The Argentina of yesterday fought like a wounded lion. Don't compare Poland to the super eagles. They for collect pass 2-0

Argentina were also wounded lion in 2018 after loosing to Croatia and drawing Iceland, wetin Dem play? No b 2-1

Na only Eguavoen can explain what went bad for him in the space of 6games, beating all 3teams(including Afcon finalist) in a group and accumulating 100% point only to go and jonez in the round 16... successfully holding Ghana at the intimidating baba Yara slaughter zone, only for you to come and screw up in Abuja... Super eagle's Afcon group stage performance, first leg doggedness at baba Yara, and 20mins towards the end of Abuja clash showed me that we would have held our own against top teams if qualified

I even pray our ranking drop, so we can be paired with big big African teams in same groups, then we'll show them again that it's not by World Cup qualification, just as it happened in same group of the then top rank guys Cameroon, Algeria bla bla

You'll see them beating their chest as if they have concrete evidence to support it

If the SE is so good or even better than Ghana and Poland and costa rica, why are these teams there and have qualified and on the verge on qualifying (if they play their cards right) and we are not. We are sitting at home watching beautiful soccer. I remem er some even saying that Ghana plays jam body football and its boring. If Jam body football will give you a WC win against South Korea, then I want that kind of Jam body football

Nigerians refuse to be honest with their soccer and call a spade a spade all on the name of blind patriotism

Nigeria will defeat poland grin grin grin. What a joke!!!

grin grin

Bros calming down, abeg rest..... not qualifying for the world cup doesn't totally make us a bad team..we lost the qualification ticket due to Ill-luck and one single goal keeping error..all those mad mad pressure osimhen heaped on them in Abuja showed we did some high pressing, I go still blamr osimhen for some of those bicycle kicks wey for don bury Ghana, oga we played Ghana die that day
- our away match against Ghana saw a controversial penalty cancelled
- our home leg saw osimhen's goal controversially cancelled for offside.
The only team playing top notch European style is the Moroccans(that's if they can beat Canada self).....
Our current Nigerian team with competition/tournament Aura/pressure will wire Equador and Qatar in group A.
- "................." Will wire Poland and draw to Mexico in group c
- ".............." will wire Costa Rica and draw with Japan
I Blame the coaching crew, administrations, and players hunger during qualifications...
SUPER EAGLES IS STILL A HUGE FORCE TO RECKON WITH IN AFRICA

That game is truly similar. Musa and geng with back to back attack. This one was less of that game as it was pack the bus and gra gra. That 2014 team played more better than this Ghana team. Just a little more gragra and 3-3 it would have been.

Exactly

I totally disagree with the notion of brilliant play not sinking down with Nigerian fans. Maybe the new age fans but historically, we are known for playing good football.

When you think of players like Mobi Oparakwu, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha in a starting eleven. These players played with intelligence and flair. We for a long time played with intelligence and bravery. Sometimes I wonder how this negative play crept into our football.

The likes of Taribo, Finidi, Peter Rufai for instance played under a master possession tactician at young age and the Sharks Stadium then used to be jam packed with thrilled fans.

Bro we can't keep watching brilliant play and loosing, there is now way it will sink down well, at all, any brilliant play that we end up loosing is equal to failure, going to a tournament playing brilliant playing and falling out of group stage is jus totally off it

I actually think it played out with the Coach of the Aussies reading the game plan of France and attacking it. However, a switch in tactics and also loss of stamina played a part in the dismantling. The Aussies did not just play but we're better in tactics and strategy.

The point is that an Underdog can pull up a good show and even beat top teams.

Let's jus hope we build a team with good tactics qnd winning formula.... the Australian team play will never sink down well with Nigerian fans..never
