The best habits to imbibe are ones that will have positive effects on our lives, and in our everyday interaction with people. Some of these habits are simple things we can infuse into our daily lives, and go a long way to break rocks, and live happy. Here is an examination at some of these habits. 1. Few Minutes of Exercise: Do a few minutes of bodyweight exercises as soon as you wake up every morning. Just a few minutes of pushups, planks and air squats every morning can help you wake up for the day while warding off creeping fat gain. Plus, if you have a busy day ahead of you and want to skip the gym, you can extend this workout to 20–30 minutes.http://www.newshelm.com/2016/07/17-simple-habits-that-will-make-you_24.html cc lalasticlala |

National Bureau of Statistics, NBS said Nigeria's annual inflation rose to 16.5 percent in June from 15.6 percent in May. The highest rate since October 2005, according to data on the CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA’s website. Here are five implications every Nigerian should know... - More Tough times ahead for Nigerians - The value of the effect of inflation on savers and investors is that they lose purchasing power. The Nigerian naira will become less valuable with the passage of time. - Wages and salaries will lag, cost of living increases, making families struggle to keep up as the price of everything from cornflakes to tuition increases faster than the take-home pay they receive from employers. The 18,000 minimum wage will not be able to cater for certain things as it were before now. For instance, it takes more Dollars, or Pounds Sterling, or Euros, or Yen, or Swiss Francs, to buy the same quantity of goods. - Impact on stock markets: The rise in inflation impacts the market sentiments. it helps in driving the interest rates higher and hence borrowing becomes costly both from the market and financial institutions. Therefore, the valuations of capital-intensive companies and sectors come under pressure as their margins decrease due to the higher interest burden. The International Monetary Fund said this month that Nigeria’s economy could contract for the first time in more than two decades this year as a fall in oil revenue and electricity shortages weigh on output. Gross domestic product contracted by 0.4 percent in the three months through March as the naira peg and restrictions on trading foreign currency led to a shortage of dollars needed to import fuel and materials for manufacturers. The Central Bank of Nigeria, which kept its benchmark rate at 12 percent in May, will announce its next policy decision on July 26. http://www.newshelm.com/2016/07/5-reasons-why-you-should-be-worried-as.html cc lalasticlala mynd44

The Niger Delta Red Squad, the militant group operating from the Ohaji Egbema axis of Imo State, has alerted the Imo State Government and law enforcement agencies in the state of the expiration of their two weeks cease fire, adding that, the next phase of their operation would take the state by storm. The group, which earlier said their agitation was against the inordinate exploitation and marginalisation of the oil bearing communities in the state, warned that Imo State and Nigeria will be shocked by their next attack. A terse statement posted on their Facebook page read, “Our two weeks seize-fire is almost coming to an end, and then we will start full operations. Imo State and Nigeria will be shocked at what we are going to do in our forthcoming attacks.” The group seemed particularly peeved by comments made to the news media by the Brigade Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze in Imo State, Brigadier- General Kay Niger Delta Red Devil declares biafra avengersIshyaku, though they did not specify the exact statement that got their attention. According to another post on their Facebook wall, the group said, “Since the Brigade Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, thinks he can talk to media, let him wait for us at Owerri, we will teach Imo State lessons they will never forget as soon as our two weeks cease-fire elapses. Rochas Okorocha and Army General Ishyaku should get ready. We are coming.” http://www.newshelm.com/2016/07/photo-our-next-attack-will-teach.html cc lalasticlala |

The Ministry of Tourism in Plateau on Saturday said it was planning an elaborate naming ceremony for its new “Lion King Lalong” brought in from the Sanda Kyarimi Zoo in Maiduguri. The Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Peter Mwankon, told the News Agency of Nigeria,NAN, that the one-and-half-year-old cub replaced the older lion killed last year following its escape from cage during routine feeding in the Jos Wildlife Park. Mwankon added that authorities regretted the killing of the lion which was due to some limiting circumstances. He explained that the involvement of marksmen from the military and the police in tracking and killing the lion was to save the immediate community from danger as it could have turned untamed. The commissioner said it was unfortunate that some animal rights campaigners claimed that the act constituted cruelty to animals. Mwankon noted that the new replacement was through a trade by barter with the Sanda Kyarimi Zoological Park in Maiduguri, Borno, to add to the tourism potential of the Jos Wildlife Park. He described the lion as a prime attraction to the park, expected to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue and developmental projects. Mwankon gave an assurance that the management of the park had put modalities in place to forestall animals escaping from their cages within the park. http://www.newshelm.com/2016/07/plateau-plans-elaborate-naming-ceremony.html cc lalasticlala |
