WebmastersHow To See And Delete All The Embarrassing Stuff Google Knows About You by MissEdified(op): 5:59pm On Jul 02, 2016
Forget the eyes, Google search is the window to your soul. And when your searches speak volumes about your hypochondria or inability to perform simple math equations (same), that might not always be such a good thing.

Thankfully, Google released a tool this week called My Activity {https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity} that will allow you to see a collection of what you’ve watched, searched and viewed using their services.

With My Activity, you’re finally privy to the information advertisers use to sell you products they believe you’ll love based on your demographic and interests, according to The Guardian. Delve into the troves of your online history labeled by date, location and platform (YouTube, Google Chrome, Google Maps and more). It’s unclear how far back you’re able to go, but you can delete searches you don’t want affiliated with your account.

This will make Google’s latest advertising extension opt-in, not opt-out. If a user does not enable ad targeting, they will not be automatically enrolled. Opting-in grants users fine-tuned control over how ads work across their devices. Google notes that if a user turns off these ad-extension options, the user will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to the user’s interests. Ads still may be based on general location.

The information on “My Activity” also includes users’ Chrome browsing history, Google searches, image searches and YouTube searches. The “My Activity” feature enables users to delete records of their online search requests in a single location, rather than visiting various websites and apps. Android users will notice a lot more of their lives have been collected by Google since Android smartphones are heavy on Google apps.

For better or for worse, these searches don’t disappear into the ether, as “Google may keep service-related information about your account, like which Google products you used and when, to prevent spam and abuse and to improve our services,” the company said on their website.

You can also save yourself the hassle by preventing your operating system from saving searches going forward. Access to the tool isn’t widespread just yet, but all Google users should be getting a notification in the near future.

PoliticsLagos Clarifies Incident Surrounding Street Hawker Knocked Down By Truck by MissEdified(op): 8:22pm On Jun 29, 2016
The Lagos State Government has clarified the misconception surrounding the unfortunate incident where a street hawker was knocked down by an oncoming truck at Maryland Bus Stop on Wednesday.

The street hawker, who was trying to evade arrest from officials of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), had attempted to cross the road before being hit by the truck, which was erroneously thought to be a BRT Bus.

As a result, hoodlums armed with sticks and stones, immediately descended on some BRT buses plying the route as at the time of the incident and in the process destroyed several of the BRT buses.

But the Government in a statement signed the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said that contrary to the information being circulated in the social media that the street hawker was hit by a BRT bus, it was a truck belonging to a soft drink company that unfortunately hit the boy.

“It wasn’t any of our buses that killed him (hawker), it was a soft drink company truck that unfortunately crushed the boy while he was trying to escape from KAI officers who were on patrol trying to rid the street of street hawkers and traders.

“But hoodlums now took advantage of that to start destroying government assets, including several of the brand new BRT buses,” he said.

Ayorinde said it took the intervention of a team from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to quell the riotous scene caused by the hoodlums before the corpse of the boy was taken to the morgue at the General Hospital, Ikeja.

The Commissioner said that at least three hoodlums alleged to have been part of the mob that destroyed the BRT buses have been arrested, saying that the law would take its full course.

“The Lagos State Government would like to use this opportunity to further reiterate that it would not relent in ridding the state of illegality, street trading and hawking,” he said.

Ayorinde said that Section one of the Lagos State Street Trading and Illegal Market Prohibition Law 2003, restricts street trading and hawking in the metropolis, while Sections Seven and Eight of the same law gives jurisdiction and power to the Special Court to order the seizure and public auction of items impounded from street traders.

Section 10 of the law, he said, also prescribes a N5000 fine or three months imprisonment upon conviction.

“Street traders are hereby urged to desist from this illegal activity because the government will not be blackmailed and would do that which is necessary.

“And for the miscreants and hoodlums, the Lagos State Government and the Police Command would not allow any act of civil disobedience and those arrested would be dealt with in accordance with the law and further arrests would be made as investigation continues,” he said.

Politics‘the Photographs And Video Clips Reveal Everything’ – Fayose by MissEdified(op): 9:32am On Jun 26, 2016
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has no intention of resigning from his position and he has dismissed the growing calls for him to do so.

Fayose blamed All Progressives Congress stalwarts for the protest by a coalition of civil society organisations and the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties on Friday in Ado Ekiti.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, on Saturday, refused to react to the fact that Zenith Bank allegedly denied sending a team to beg the governor as well as the subsequent furor generated by the act.

“The photographs and video clips did reveal everything. But we are keeping our fingers crossed for the next line of step to take should Zenith Bank continued to be unreasonable”, Adelusi said.

PoliticsProfile Of Osagie Ize-Iyamu PDP Governorship Candidate In Edo by MissEdified(op): 5:10pm On Jun 20, 2016
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is an astute politician. He was born 21th June 1962 into the upper middle-class family of Late Chief Robert Osayande Ize-Iyamu, the highly respected Benin chief with the highly reverend title of Esogban of Benin Kingdom and Mrs. Magdalene N. Ize-Iyamu (nee Obasohan). In 1973, Pastor Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu completed his primary education at Ebenezer Nursery and Primary School, Benin City; he had made a landmark obtaining the best result in the common entrance in the then Midwestern region. He then went ahead to confirm his stellar status in Edo College in 1979 where he once again obtained the best result in the art class in West Africa Certificate Examination (WAEC). Buoyed by his high-profile academic performances, young Osagie’s desire was to follow the footsteps of his elder brother who traveled abroad for further studies.

However, due to Osagie’s proximity to the flurry of communal politicking, done by his father, he developed keen interest in it. Pastor Osagie chose to study Political Science, and was admitted into the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City in 1980. But that was not to be. Inadvertently obeying the dictate of fate, he changed his course of study to Law the following academic session, and soon became one of the pioneering students in the faculty. He graduated with top honour in 1985/1986; he immediately proceeded to the Nigeria Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar afterward in 1987.

In 1995 Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu met God through a harrowing experience when he had an almost fatal accident that changed the course of his life forever. Unconscious for nine hours, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu suffered dislocated hips and fractured toes. God himself being the ultimate physician healed him at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi. Surprised by his miraculous deliverance on his dislocated hips returned to their original positions and overwhelmed by the divine favour and words of his wife to use this privilege to give his life to the service of God, his creator, Pastor Osagie joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where he grew in knowledge and wisdom about God and church administration. As family members, friends and foes watched in amazement at his transformed life. Pastor Osagie within a short time was made a minister in the church. In 1998, he was made Pastor of the Upper Room Parish of the Church, located at Adesuwa Road, G.R.A., Benin City. He threw himself into the service and with encouragement and prayerful support of his wife, as well as the commitment of his fellow ministers; he was able to raise the hitherto small parish (branch) to the biggest RCCG church in Edo State. He was later appointed the Area pastor of the GRA 1 Area church overseeing three parishes with headquarters at the Upper Room parish, and became an inspiration to thousands of youth in Edo State.

His work and passion later gave birth to a magnificent edifice that drew the attention of the highly reverend Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who was personally in Benin City to dedicate the church. Today, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is the District Pastor, Overseeing Zonal, Area and parishes of the RCCG in Edo State. Besides, he is in charge of the provincial regional headquarter parish in Benin City. These great strides however, did not only manifest in his faith but also in his political life.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu sowed a seed of his political activism long ago during his university days as a vibrant member of the Student Union Congress and being highly instrumental to the election of several presidents and Executive members of the Student Union. That experience proved vital as he became one of the operational planks that saw to the election of Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, as the then Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Benin City, in 1983, under the zero party system. After his sojourn into private legal practice and business, he was appointed as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Edo State, under the administration of Dr. Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, Executive Governor of Edo State- an evidence of the virtues of loyalty and trust. As the Chief of Staff, from 1999-2003, he elevated the office to the enviable status of a melting pot of consultation, strategy and confidence building.

With his leading by the Holy Spirit, he became the man to trust and do business with, the rallying point of energies and ideas. He engineered the smooth and peaceful relationship that the state enjoyed with pensioners and labour leaders, then in Edo State. As a testament to his sterling performance as a Chief of Staff, he was elevated to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). A position of immense trust and critical nexus and strategic catalyst in the government of the state, where he proved to be reliable, dependable, trust worthy and a positive generational ambassador committed to the well-being of Edos.

He showcased his sagacity in management and entrepreneurial spirit when he set up the magnificent I.O Farms Training Institute- a model farm settlement at Ugbor-Amagba communities, Benin City, Edo State. The institute has churned out hundreds of young agriculturist. The Training Institute has the triple objective of agricultural training, skill acquisitions and youth empowerment as veritable mechanism to reduce youth restiveness, organized crime and unemployment.

He has continued to contribute to the political development of the state and was awarded with the politician of the decade in Edo State. He is a politician that does not discriminate, highly de-trabalised, open to positive ideas, motivator of positive agenda for government, a respecter of elders and social values, a nexus of hope for Christians in Government and a crusader of fairness and social justice. Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s bold foot works in partisan politics and public office in Edo State has been phenomenal in scope, dept and intensity. With the resultant effect of re-designing the political landscape. He is the calm and deep-thinking political architect whose courageous designs have re-engineered the hope of Edo people for good governance and freedom from democratic tyranny. No wonder that, today, Osagie Ize-Iyamu is widely respected, acknowledged, and referred to as the “Leader” by both the elderly and the young for his uncommon courage, wisdom, integrity and commitment.

He was the National Vice Chairman, South-South Zone of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He was the Director General of Oshiomhole’s 2nd term Campaign Organisation.

He was also the Coordinator of Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation

He was recently honoured by the Benson Idahosa University with an honorary doctorate degree in Public Administration.

He is happily married to Pastor (Dr) Idia Ize-Iyamu, a Consultant Orthodontist with the University of Benin Teaching Hospital and an Associate Professor in the University of Benin. They are blessed with four children.

Christianity EtcTB Joshua Rescues Deportees From Libya, Splashes N6m by MissEdified(op): 5:58pm On Jun 17, 2016
Nigerian Prophet, T.B. Joshua, has splashed N6m ($30,000) on over a hundred Nigerian deportees who arrived from Libya on the evening of Thursday 16th June, 2016.

According to media reports, 162 Nigerians were deported from the North African nation with the aid of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Swiss government and the Nigerian Embassy in Libya.

However, rather than return home, 107 decided to 'seek refuge' at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), the popular Lagos-based church of T.B. Joshua.

According to a post on Joshua's official Facebook Page, after feeding the dishevelled and frail-looking Nigerians who arrived at the church late in the night, the sum of N50,000 was given to each of them alongside a bag of rice.

"Let me be honest with you, if not for this gift from T.B. Joshua, I had the plan of joining the militants in the Niger Delta," admitted Friday, a returnee from Delta State, who fell to his knees in gratitude after receiving the gift.

The deportees explained to this reporter that most of them had been surviving by doing menial jobs in the war-torn nation before being arrested and imprisoned.

"We came back with nothing but the clothes on our backs which were given to us by United Nations officials," said Michael, an Edo State indigene who had been in Libya for nearly ten months, washing cars for a living while nursing the hope of reaching Europe one day.

Arrested in February for staying illegally, Michael endured several months in a Libyan prison before the insufferable conditions of the prisoners attracted the attention of United Nations officials who procured their eventual release.

"I was thinking of how I was going to start my life again," he admitted. "Many of us would have ended up in crime if not for this gift."

Upon arrival, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provided transportation vehicles for the returnees to their respective states along with a gesture of N10,000 by the Swiss government.

However, the majority chose to seek help from Joshua, who is famed for his extensive humanitarian gestures.

"We decided to come to The SCOAN because we know how Prophet T.B. Joshua has been helping people around the world," Michael explained, referring to multiple other occasions where Joshua has rendered assistance to Nigerian deportees.

"I can only thank the man of God. Which other Nigerian could have done this for us at such a time in this country?"he tearfully pondered, decrying the muted response from the Nigerian government to their plight.

According to Collins, the young Nigerian had no intention to traverse Libya. Wild promises from a 'friend' of a glamorous life in Europe lured him away from a stable job in Abuja, not knowing that the European dream would lead him to a Libyan dungeon.

The fantasy turned to a nightmare as Libyan police broke into the commune where he was residing with dozens of other Nigerians en-route to a 'better life' abroad that never materialised.

"We are not here to blame or accuse the Libyan government," he stated, recounting the inhumane conditions he endured in prison in which several of his colleagues died.

One of the deportees hobbled to the church on crutches."I had a serious motor accident shortly after arriving to join my wife in Libya," he narrated. "I have been in pain ever since but I thank God for using Prophet T.B. Joshua to wipe our tears away today."

Joshua, who recently celebrated his 53rd birthday on June 12th 2016, also assisted Nigerian deportees who returned from Libya earlier this year, as well as aiding Nigerians returned from South Africa last month.

CrimeI’m Not Dead – Emmanuel Francis, Ramadan Victim by MissEdified(op): 4:39pm On Jun 11, 2016
Francis Emmanuel has dismissed the rumour of his death. The 41-year-old carpenter was beaten and stabbed in Kakuri, Kaduna State by some Muslim youths because he was eating in the afternoon during Ramadan.

Rumours of Emmanuel’s death spread on Friday. However, a correspondent of Punch visited the hospital and met with the carpenter.

Emmanuel, who almost lost his right eye to the attack, told Punch that he is alive and recuperating from the cuts inflicted on him by his attackers.

He said, “I’m alive and I’m getting better. Nobody should worry over me. I am being taken care of very well. And by the grace of God, I shall leave here very soon.”

Mr. Sunday Ali, the Public Relations Officer of St. Gerald Hospital Kaduna, where Emmanuel has since been receiving treatment, equally confirmed that the carpenter was responding very well to treatment.

“I have been receiving calls from many people seeking to confirm if Emanuel is dead. I think tension is brewing in the town,” Ali added.
