Tajbol4splend:
I think the abuse is owing to frustration and low mental strength, you see a pretty dp of a nlder and it hits your mind like to own her, she declines to reply your mention and pm's because she's not interested in what you portray to be or your approach, let her be, it's pretty simple, there's no point being annoyed, if in real life you can't convince a lady, how can you possibly do that on the internet, it's just gonna be lot difficult as she will easily ignore your mentions and pm's.

To ladies who feel disturbed, why should you be? It's pointless, the best way to hurt anyone who insults you is to always ignore their mentions and pm's, soon they will stop insulting you because they will see themselves as being too much of an idiot, the moment you exchange words with such fella, they feel they have fulfilled their objectives, that they have gotten to you.
Tu as raison. Absolutely on point.

im curious as to how u workked out that most users with(m) are females huh huh
grin What, are you guilty? Would be a fun game to decipher which female monikers are actually male; and vice-versa. Some are blatantly obvious, though.

Nice one, Op.
RomanceRe: "Universities Should Be For Males, While Polytechnic For Females" - Nigerian Guy by MissWrite(f): 6:51am On Nov 20, 2017
ubunja:
ok nice response
but do u know that companies in the US are seeing that happen more and more that at interviews they started asking women: "Do u plan on having a baby?"
it caused such an outrage from Feminists that the practice was banned.(i can give a link to that story if u want). the feminists understandably come from a logical side of not wanting to see women disadvantaged. but noone cares to see where the companies come from.noone is prepared to understand their side. there are 2 sides to every story and even in court a criminal is allowed to state his case.but noone is prepared to listen.
I understand where the companies are coming from. If I ran an organization, I'd want to know how available & predictable a resource was to me, so that I can decide on how much to invest in it and how to deploy it. It would enable me plan, consciously, when to include maternity leave and how to deploy back-up. It's good risk management. So, from the company's point of view, it should be a valid question.

From a feminist point of view, I understand why it would seem presumptuous to think only women deserve to be asked the question: Do you plan on having a baby? Fathers also take paternity leave. One month against the three for women, (with more pressure men can actually get the same time as women) but the point is, it also qualifies as down-time. Fathers should be as involved in the home as mothers if children need parents of both genders. What this does, eventually, is make the workplace more responsive to family life. And ultimately, it's better for the collective community. I'm sure that there are studies that would reveal that an absentee father has adverse effects on the development of children. We should not compromise with the young ones.

ubunja:
actually 2017 brings issues that didnt exist long ago.
what this guy is saying which he is failing to articulate is this:
The career path of an avarage woman is college, varsity, work for 3 or 4 years, then marriage, pregnancy and time taken off, then childbirth, then after childbirth she realises motherhood is such a joy and proceeds to resign...
isnt that a waste? imagine all the hours the company spent training her.now they have to replace her. imagine the loans and resources spent on her qualification at varsity.now that paper is going to decorate her wall.
imagine now one guy sitting at home who lost that varsity place to her.he could have made maximum use of the qualification for decades and benefited not only himself but his wife and family.
but as it is,that qualification is hanging on a wall in the new mother's home as she enjoys the joys of being a mother.
do u see the issue here?
this is even a talking point in the US. tell me if u want links to articles in respected US publications on this issue.
cheers.
I don't understand sad, have you not seen mothers retire form civil service after full careers? Have you not seen mothers run for public office with competitive portfolios? Have you not seen mothers become successful entrepreneurs? Or mothers become significant players in their professional bodies? There are multiple examples everywhere, so how come you haven't seen any? You have eyes, they are in your head. And even without university you can enlighten yourself on some of the realities of life. It's dangerous to be ignorant about this because some woman will find herself stunted to fit in with your erroneous perceptions. Please, bro, open your eyes. smiley

And as far as wasted degrees go, how may men in Nigeria put their degrees to judicious use? Is that a reason to deny them entry into the Uni?

RomanceRe: How Can I Tell Her That I Don't Like Her Food? by MissWrite(f): 11:25pm On Nov 19, 2017
If you cook your own food, chances are she wouldn't like it either. Our taste buds are trained by our mothers' kitchens. Just be honest. Don't tell her she doesn't know how to cook; I'm thinking that's not true anyway. Just tell her you're used to having your food prepared in a certain way, and you're having a hard time adjusting to a new palette in your old age. Then teach her how to make it. Be vocal. Don't give her room to speculate that you consider her to be a bad cook.

She is a Nairalander and she is right here on NL. I am almost certain she is even viewing the thread in guest mode as we speak. She just doesn't want to be noticed. But I had to reach out to her, because when she left me, she took a vital part of me with her. And I am dead without it.

Will I love again? Well, that remains to be seen. smiley
Sorry about that. May God grant you the fortitude to bear this loss. You're gonna have to pick yourself up and deal.

Top 5 of all time? Got none. A few songs have stayed on my playlist for a long while though, so I guess they'd do.

Terrible love (alternate version) - The national
I choose You - Sara Bareilles
All of the stars - Ed Sheeran
Promises - Boxer Rebellion
Echo - Jason Walker

Other notable mentions
I see Fire
Hate that I love you
Don't fear the reaper.
Nice list. I always thought Terrible love was Birdy, that's the one from The Originals (Or lost girl?). I just listened the The National's version: cool.

I thought that love was a myth. A myth that only exist as a reality in romance movies. But that was before I met you.

I was at the lowest point of my life. Had lost my job, family, friends, zeal and hope. Had lost virtually everything. My life was empty, void and meaningless. To me, life was no longer worth living. For what is life without meaning?

Then I found a solution, a lasting solution, to my ordeal. I knew what I was gonna do. I will take my life. For surely we all have a date with death. It's a curse of life. An inescapable fate. Death comes for us all, either now or someday, whether we are prepared for it or not. With all this in mind, I pondered the question: "why continue to live a prolonged life of sorrow when you can just end it all?" It just doesn't make any sense.

I won't be caught unwares like the others. This time I will rewrite destiny. I am gonna bite the dust, disentangling myself from all my sufferings once & for all, and have my house engulfed in flames as I breathe my last, thus eradicating my essence from the face of existence.

But that was when you came along. You stepped into my life and disrupted my suicide plans. You brought meaning to my life. You loved me with the love of a good shepherd. The soft tough of your caress upon my skin felt like the tender touch of a loving mother. Our sighs of passion was drowned by the torrents of the rains. We laid together in the grassland enjoying the warmth of the sun, and walked hand in hand by the riverside at dusk, with the wind blowing gently. You taught me how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I was able to smile again. I felt like I could live again.

My love, you didn't just change my life; you gave me my life.

When I opened my eyes I couldn't find you. Like a mystery you were gone.

But I must find you. If I can't find you then I cannot live. You are my life. I am dead without you. I pray the heavens help me before the darkness that is reaching for my soul overwhelms me.

Behold Nairaland the one who has stolen my heart and never returned it back.

Oh now, this is really sad. Tears: cry cry

Op, who is the person we are beholding?

And tell us, will you........... ever.............love........again,......... without a heart ( cry)............to give?

Since nobody seems to know any better, let me be the one to point it out to you: you are being very hypocritical asking me to edit my comment allegedly to 'protect' the people involved when you are here, flaunting same post yourself. What's your motive? It's obviously not to spare anyone's feelings, so it must be that you just want to appear to be the sensitive one. The champion who cares. That's BS. I removed that post yesterday (because I thought you might be sensitive about this subject because of your own history with the issue), but it's still not gone, is it? Because you must show yourself.

Who is being intimidated by feminist? cheesy Hahaha cheesy

This is where you got it all wrong. I don't know why many of you start making baseless and irrelevant points especially when the issue of feminism is discussed. The write-up is talking about something and you're saying a different thing entirely

Do you know that the reason why many ladies of today divorce is because they can't stand the storm of marriage.? With time, you will get to understand that things are not as sweet as you've always fantasized. You will soon get to know that there are storms in marriages and only the strong ones can survive it. It's something you will face unless you are team "marriage is not for me" cheesy

Then you will realize all these "I can't take, I can't do that" attitude will not save you.
This is only gear one. If the point is already flying over your head, we should discontinue this conversation and allow you achieve some intellectual growth before this can be argued any further. No offense! People seem to like you here, so I feel compelled to tell you that I don't mean to offend you. cheesy. But you started it. tongue
