On a serious note, this is indeed sad. ''I realized that men do not help their fellow men but women''- this is thought-provoking. And yes, I'm also trying hard to find what crime Idris is guilty of.

Saying everyone is intelligent is just like saying everyone is tall. There has to be some kind of benchmark to measure the in depth of intelligence.
I think everyone is intelligent to some degree/has abilty to produce intelligent results [barring those suffering from mental handicap]; the level just varies [if intelligence can be measured]. This is sorta difficult to explain but if you give me YOUR definition of intelligence, it could help.

There are said to be different types of intelligence, and I daresay there's no way a 'healthy' individual would lack all of these. S/he may be deficient in one or more area(s) but definitely not all.

Intelligence doesn't have to do with only knowledge acquired within the four walls of a classroom. I believe humans are inherently intelligent to some extent. . . . .some people just improve and some just decide to be stùpid, not putting to use, their ability.

The 3 virtues I think go together and people often misuse are : Knowledge, Intelligence, and Wisdom. Ofttimes, we tend to refer to a knowledgeable person as an intelligent person. Maybe we need to agree on what intelligence is and what makes one intelligent.
Intelligence is more than just reasoning. I like to simply define intelligence as the ability to
put knowledge to efficient use.

What you're trying to do is place knowledge above intelligence which is an absurd thing to do. If there was a scale on which these virtues could be weighed, intelligence would outweigh knowledge for it is possible to be knowledgeable and be unintelligent but impossible to be intelligent without having knowledge.

Level 2 - Intelligence [ To climb here, you must first have knowledge. It doesn't matter what you know but just know. As long as you know how to apply the information you have, in order to produce/obtain desired result.
Level 1 - Knowledge [ You can be here and not move further. Your information remains with you and you're simply enlightened]

Example : Mr cork's purpose for signing up on Nl could be to irritate the hell out of everyone. He knows the kind of comments that is capable of pissing one off, he deliberately posts those comments and people eventually get pissed. He's obtained his desired result . . .mission accomplished. Whether he seems silly in the eyes of Missy is irrelevant to the fact that, that act of his is an intelligent one.

Liken Mr cork's example to that of the men - John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly, Bill Gates, Thomas A. Edison, Karl Benz etc - (whose inventions are) considered intelligent today because they knew what to bring together to get a desired result.

These people are doing/did the same thing.  . . .Putting/put knowledge to effective use.

So no, there's no way knowledge is of more value than intelligence for intelligence comes after knowldege. Agreed that the word is misused; every Jerry and tom is being considered intelligent even w/out proving to be.

Plus, yes, I think you have a point when you said everyone is intelligent.

I don't know how Edikainkong is made but here's what Google gave me. . . .

Ingredients:
Edikaikong Soup (Serves Four)
(1) Ugu Leaves (subsitute Spinach) -- 2 Heads (2 standard Packages of Spinach)
(2) Waterleaf -- 2 Heads
(3) Crayfish -- 1 Cup
(4) Dried Fish -- 1 Medium
(5) Giant Snails (escargo) -- 4
(6) Beef or Goat Meat -- 1.5lbs
(7) Kpomo* -- 1 lb
(cool Palm Oil -- 1.5 cups
(9) Onions -- 1 Whole Large
(10) Pepper -- 6 to 10 fresh hot or to taste
(11) Seasoning -- 1 or 2 cubes of beef stock
(12) Salt -- about 2 teaspoons (use discretion)

Preparation:
If necessary wash the ugu leaves. Pluck the leaves from the stem. Discard the stems. Collate and chop the leaves into thin (1/4 inch) slices. Set aside. Do same with waterleaves.
Blend crayfish into coase powder using electric grinder.
If african giant snails are available prepare them by cleaning the meat by rubbing with lemon or soaking and massaging in vineger until all slime is gone and meat is gritty to the touch. Canned escargo is a poor substitute for african giant snails. another substitute for snail may be scallops or any other sea mullusk. However, if any of these are not available, this part of the recipe may be omitted altogether.
Break up the dried fish in a bowl pour in boiling water, add about 2 spoon heaps of salt. Wash the fish in the hot salt water to remove sand and other dirt. Remove fish from salt water and set aside.
Grind peppers to a paste. Set aside.
*Traditionally, kpomo or hide of beef, is also added when preparing Edikaikong soup.
The Cooking:

In a medium sized covered pot, bring all meats (beef, kpomo) but not snails to steam without adding water.
Add beef stock seasoning, 1/4 cup of water and salt, and cook till meat is tender (5 to 15 minutes).
Add waterleaves to meat and beef stock. Stir.
Add the crayfish, stir and let boil until most liquid in the pot evapourates.
Add the snails at this stage so that it will cook just right. Over-cooked snails are leathery, cooked just right, the snails are crunchy and easy to chew.
Add pepper and salt. Stir.
Add the ugu or spinach, stir and allow to boil over (about one minute).
Add the palm oil, stir and let boil for five more minutes.
Turn off heat and serve. Should be able to feed four adults.

In as much as I think gene and dbanj are both classless I still prefer dbanj welli. Dbanj's command of English is so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh better off than that of tuface
D'banj may be a graduate, but obviously, that hasn't made him better in any/all area(s) of life or more successful than Tuface who isn't a graduate. If anything, Tuface is/seems higher careerwise and indubitably classier.
Come to think of it, what is to say D'banj is eloquent? Who's viewed his interview? I haven't.

Yes, I very much agree, D'banj is patently classless but not Gene.
C'mon na! We're talking about the N° 1 in Nollywood . . . . The one to whom no one comes close . . . The envy of her colleagues . . . . The star among stars . . . The hate of the inferior and women . . . Most importantly, the Nollywood version of Missy B.  grin grin grin

This is what happens when an animal who has absolutely no control over her sexual longing meets another animal that just wants to stick it in any hole, paying little or no regard to self-respect, right conduct and effect of actions. Am I surprised? No!
Like some people rightly said; You're on the right track for realizing that you're doing something wrong. The next step is to act.  . . . We do the talking and you act. Unfortunately, as it seems, you aren't ready to act yet. You're still making excuses - ''I'm in love with one of them, I have nowhere to go''. If you want out, you'd put aside your emotions, tell him bodly and damn the consequences.
But then, tomorrow morning when your sister would have gone to work, you most likely would be working on her husband in her bedroom instead of spitting at the girl in the mirror, feeling nothing but total disgust.

Babez, you already know what to do but, just in case you decide not to do it but wallow in self-pity and seeming remorse and at the same time, enjoy the seeming pleasure that comes with this evil, please, do enjoy and while at it, It's my wish that you get caught in the most humiliating way and, the punishment you all get is one that you will never forget even in the afterlife.
As for the men, they are worse and I have no words for them.

FoodRe: Can Someone Teach Me How To Make Owo Soup And Also How To Make Ukhodo by MissyB3(mod): 2:15pm On Jan 19, 2011
There's nothing like Owo with Yam . I like!  kiss

Ingrdients:
Ikau [Potash]
Fresh fish
Gizzard
Meat [I use goat meat]
Red oil
Maggi cubes
Cray fish
Tomato pulp
Pepper [Dried]
salt

Procedure
Boil your meat, gizzard and add maggi cubes. When the meat is almost ready, cut off the pectoral fins on both sides of your fish, scale it, wash it, slice it and put into the pot of meat [make sure that there's a little quantity of water remaining]. After 5 minutes, add your tomato pulp, ground pepper [ preferably dried pepper not fresh], ground cray fish and salt to taste.
Meanwhile, put a little quantity of water in a small pot, add your potash and then heat/boil. Turn off the heat after 2-3 minutes. [I used to put the potash directly into my soup but the first day I tried the boiling method, I saw a lot of rubbish settle at the bottom of the pot and I decided never to use w/0 boiling first. You can smash the potash and put directly in the soup but, for 'hygiene' purpose, I'd advice you boil it].

10-15 minutes later, your soup should be thicker . Drain the potash water from the pot into your soup, stir and turn off heat. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes and then gradually pour red oil [ I put a lot. Depending on the quantity of your soup, though] into the pot of soup and continuously stir until it is thick in conistency and golden yellow in colour.
[ If you aren't going to finish the soup in a day, it's advisable not to mix all. Just put the portion you need in a plate and mix only that. Put the remaining soup [not mixed] in the fridge or freezer and heat when next you want to use it, before mixing].
Serve with boiled yam or plantain. kiss kiss kiss kiss
Enjoy!

You can use whatever meat you want. Location is the reason I only use the
above - mentioned. For example, someone in Naija would add smoked fish [ very nice for owo  kiss], smoked prawns etc.

This is the way the Binis prepare it. I think the Uhrobos have a different method whereby they add starch  shocked
