A date between Ousmane Dembele and four Arsenal players has led to inevitable suggestions that the France international is being buttered up for a summer move to the Emirates.

The World Cup winner was pictured enjoying a dinner with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mattéo Guendouzi and Alexandre Lacazette on Thursday evening with just over a week to go until the summer window closes.

The 21-year-old, who joined Barcelona in a £115m move last summer, has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp and is understood to be unhappy with the recent arrival of Brazilian winger, Malcom.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger was signed as a direct replacement for Neymar, but only managed to score three goals in an injury-plagued first season in La Liga.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has already spent over £50m on new signings this summer but it’s thought the Spaniard would jump at the chance to bring Dembele to the Premier League.

Dembele is good friends with Aubameyang after spending two seasons together at Borussia Dortmund.

“Very happy to be with family and surrounded by our guys,” wrote Aubameyang’s father, who shared a photo of the group.

The EFCC might need to suspend its probe of Ike Ekweremandu the Deputy Senate President who fell sick during a probe yesterday.

While EFCC grilled Ekweremadu over his assets in Nigeria, United Kingdom, United States and United Arab Emirates (UAE), he got weak and was permitted seek medical attention in the hospital.

The resumption of the investigation on Ekweremadu’s assets will now be determined by his fitness and the medical report from his Doctor.

“We were able to highlight additional 38 assets, added to the initial 22 on which he ought to give explanation.

“The grilling started smoothly until he complained of discomfort and he was unable to continue to answer our questions. His sudden illness might have arise from high blood pressure.

“Since he needed urgent medical attention, we allowed him to go to the hospital of his choice for treatment.” EFFC Disclosed

The Federal Government, through the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, had traced 22 assets to Ekweremadu.

The said assets were suspected to have been acquired through illicit funds.

The assets include :No. 11, Evans Enwerem Street, Apo Legislative Quarters, Apo, Abuja; Plot 2633 Kyami, Abuja; Housing Estate (Plot 1106 CRD, Cadastral Zone 07-07, Lugbe, Abuja; Plot 2782 Asokoro Extension, Abuja, and Houses at Citi Park Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja.

Others are at Plot 1474 Cadastral Zone BD6, Mabushi, Abuja; Congress Court, Abuja; Flat 1, Block D25, Athletics Street (24th Street) Games Village, Abuja; and Plot 66, 64 Crescent, Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja.

Traceable assets of Ekweremadu in the United State, include 4507 Stella Street, Bellavida Estate Kissime, Florida, USA; 2747 Club Cortile Circle, Kissime, Florida, USA and 2763 Club Cortile Circle, Kissime, Florida, USA.

The properties abroad in London include Flat 4 Varsity Court, Harmer Street, WIH 4NW, London; and 52 Ayleston Avenue, NW6 7AB, London.

Barcelona could be plotting an incredible swap deal which would send shockwaves through the football world. 

The Catalan side is still looking for a centre midfielder, and are interested in Aaron Ramsey, the Sun report.

The Welsh international scored eleven goals and provided twelve assists in a bounce-back season last time around, and the Culés are looking for another player to replace Paulinho. 

That could have been Adrien Rabiot, but it looks like Barça are stuck in that situation, with PSG not so willing to let go of their man. 

Trouble is, signing Ramsey could be difficult… unless Barcelona are willing to trade Ousmane Dembélé, who is known to be liked by Arsenal. 

The Gunners have long been interested in the 21-year-old, who managed three Liga goals last season despite being signed for a massive €105 million from Borussia Dortmund. 

Though the Catalans only recently claimed that the French international was “untouchable”, their recent signing of Malcom (who plays in exactly the same position) is problematic for Dembélé, especially if the injuries which tormented him last season don’t leave him alone this year.
