Please don't mind some of this our media organization that like to spice things up unnecessarily. I wonder what benefit it serves. This link shows that the image originated from the TheNEWS http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2016/07/in-picture-cameron-packs-out-of-10-downing-street/. They have taken it down because they know its false. Even though Cameron has no problem giving a helping hand if necessary but surely that picture is not of him moving his belongings yesterday/today from No 11 Downing street. I know someone will come after me that no its 10 Downing street. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3685908/Cameron-walks-away-Downing-Street-40-000-pension-20-000-pay-ll-Tony-Blair-family-live.html Mekky2010: |
VulgarVulvas:why the hate VulgarVulvas? Please educate us where you got your submission. |
360frolic:This is very pathetic. Sometimes you wonder how some people think and execute very barbaric and wicked acts. If she's got issues with the mum why hurt the baby? What she failed to realise is that this her wickedness to an innocent and helpless boy will by the special grace of God transform the boys fortune in life- a case in hand is the boy that was left to die in Akwa Ibom because he was suspected to be possessed by witchcraft. what is the boys' fate today? God showed him mercy and lifted him from his eminent painful end. So shall God almighty relieve this poor boy of his pains and trauma. The woman MUST be found and made to face the judicial system. There should be no hiding place for her. This is a case of the State against her. Is that a hospital? I cant hold back tears..... This is pathetic!!! Honestly our leaders (both political and civil) should be ashamed of themselves. Lets face the fact, how do you expect this boy to pull through in such a horrible place. God, you created this little soul and You know his predicaments, please grant him succour and good recovery. The most High and merciful God, please touch the heart of our leaders in every strata of our country Nigeria to be conscious of their obligations and duty to humanity. Leadership is a trust and a massive burden which we shall be held accountable by God. |
Beface:They thought its business as usual... Despite the initial scandal of budget padding by people trusted by the President to uphold the virtues of honesty and dedication, these our (s)elected representatives still had the gut to re-pad the budget for their own selfish interests. I hope it is clear to them that Nigeria has a new Sheriff. They fail to realise that even at 70+ this president is still strong, committed to the Nigerian dream and pay special attention to details especially when it has to do with documents and data. Honestly, we need to applaud the tenacity of President Buhari. However, it does not mean that we should not criticize him when he fails to do the needful. Luckily he is not tainted by corrupt practices or anti-social vices so our 'privileged' men and women in the hallow chambers can not find their way around him. Hopefully when the time for 2017 budget preparation comes everyone will sit up and do his/her constitutional duty without fear or favour. God bless Nigeria!!! |
The prime minister of Iceland has resigned - the first major casualty of the Panama Papers leaks which have shed an embarrassing spotlight on the world of offshore finance. The leaks, from Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca, showed PM Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson owned an offshore company, Wintris, with his wife. He was accused of concealing millions of dollars worth of family assets. A big protest was held in front of parliament in Iceland on Monday. Reports suggest the agriculture minister will be the new PM. Dozens of high-profile global figures are named in the huge Mossack Fonseca leak. Mr Gunnlaugsson had earlier called on the President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson to dissolve parliament, but that was refused. Mr Grimsson said he wanted to speak to political parties first. "I do not think it is normal that the prime minister alone... should be given the authority to dissolve the parliament without the majority of the parliament being satisfied with that decision," the president told reporters. Some observers describe his rejection of the prime minister's request as highly unusual. Panama Papers: Live updates After refusing to resign on Monday, the prime minister appeared to come under increasing pressure from within his governing coalition too. He took to Facebook on Tuesday to outline his position. "I told the leader of the Independence Party that if the party's parliamentarians think they cannot support the government in completing joint tasks, I would dissolve parliament and call a general election," he wrote. Other Panama Papers reaction France returns Panama to a list of countries which fail to co-operate over tax evasion The US Department of Justice is reviewing the leaked documents to look for evidence of corruption that could be prosecuted in the US, the Wall Street Journal reports Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela says his government has "zero tolerance" for illicit financial activities and would co-operate vigorously with any judicial investigation in any country |
Xposer:so this is his own way of alleviating the poverty in the land. Naija politician sha..... and what is with that guy holding umbrella... |
Drabeey:Its only fair to slam who ever is responsible for the truck with a hefty fine that they will not forget in a hurry. This is crazy! How are we sure that this same truck has not damaged electricity or telephone lines along its way before getting to this point. Honestly, we (Nigerians) are our own biggest enemy- how can a sane human being load this truck to that limit..... |
campusflavour:Agreed its just an accident but a family has been deprived of a loved one due to the reckless driving of an individual. It is the duty of the government to ensure that justice is served for the victims family. This is the rule in all countries that value life. It is high time people are held responsible for their actions so that our society can gradually trace her path to doing the right thing. If people know that prosecution awaits them when they commit a crime involving road use then a great majority will apply some sense of caution when they drive. Unfortunately in this case it is Ibinabo.. |
skentelelady:check www.abokifx.com |
Dennygirl:sorry about that. my error. |
contactmorak:Hmmm...That is the so call 'House Leader'. Common, defend your needs with logic and tenable points. so a minister going around with 4 cars is one of his justifications. In the first place, a minster does not need 4 cars to carry out his/her functions. That is one of the reasons you guys are elected to address some of the anomalies in the way we do things. Soon, a generation of the nth assembly will see the justification for them to fly around in chattered private jets because the president and vice president are using presidential jets. Honestly something must be done about our overhead cost of governance. |
Dennygirl:Interesting excuse!!!! If your records were clean, NOBODY and I mean NOBODY can touch you. You see the issue is that you privileged lot turned Nigeria into a milking cow and thought no one will ever come after. Sorry oo... But come to think of it, he means he does not know that Jide has any dealings with NNPC. I am sure he would remember that Jide Omokore had his son's wedding in Dubai some two years ago (to the daughter of the permanent secretary of Ministry of Petroleum) with the creme dela creme of PDP including state governors and national assembly members in attendance. |
haykay2005:No wonder there is this loud cry to devalue the naira. Thank God PMB understands the intent and has remained firm. Remember, its not you and I who own those dorm account, a huge chunk of that $20 billion surely belong to our greedy and selfish elites, politicians and good-for-nothing political beggars who in the last 2 to 3 decades turned our country to 'their' ATM. Nigeria can attain greatness only if we, her citizens change our ways and attitude to public trust and aspire to do the right thing wherever we find ourselves - be it as teachers, traders, artisans, head of the family, civil servants, service providers, etc. Citizens of the developed countries like America, UK, Germany, Canada etc will not come to salvage us and give us a better country or services, it is our duty to build the country of our dream that future generations would be proud of. |
What evidence do you have to indicate that she was subjected to Qatar's cultural/religious practice. I guess you have not been to any of the GCC countries - Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain to comprehend the fact there is no way someone in the capacity of Kemi Adeosun will be subjected/forced to dress the way she did. She must have put on the head garb to impress her Boss or host - typical of an average Nigerian! I stand firm to say that no one would have forced her to dress like that as you seem to claim. Get that clear! ValerianSteel: |
olafusimic:Thank you for your candid view. |
madridguy:There has to be a proper engagement with the citizens of Nigeria in this subsidy boju boju. Let the government come clean on what exactly is going on with the subsidy issue. We can not continue to fund some peoples empire at the expense of the people. Let's look at the current situation in the country- the government claims that the products are subsidized and yet the pump prices are still unbelievably high. Global crude prices has dropped from a high of $65 at the beginning of this year to around $35 this week. What this means is that prices of refined products have equally dropped globally but we have not seen that trend from the so called importers of petroleum products. Honestly if as a nation we can not sort out the crisis in the oil and power sector so that we can have affordable and stable refined products and electricity supply then our journey to the promised land will remain an illusion. |
oatzeal:This is absolute nonsense! Someone needs to get the boot. This is not about Bauchi, it is about Nigeria. Does it mean that there is only one motorized stair? What would have happened if an aircraft with an emergency situation was diverted to land at the airport? Someone's stupidity would have led to a catastrophic scenario. I think it's time for people in position of responsibility begin to feel the heat when they fail to do the task they saddled with. There is just no tenable explanation for this utter nonsense and show of shame. Somebody need to be shown the way out- period!!!! |
damton:and you think boko haram or who ever is behind them will ever know peace- HELL NO!!! cryyyying for this little princess. God please grant her successful recovery and give her family the strenght and courage to remain strong. |
FOLYKAZE:The video gives some clue on what transpired on that fateful day. Its only fair that we look at issues with an unbiased sentiments. If anyone who lives or have lived within the north during crisis will understand this is the typical attitude of 'miscreants' who go about killing and destroying harmless individuals under the pretext of defending religion. Can you imagine the fluidity of the scenario- here you have an Officer (who clearly is a Hausa man) pleading with people to allow them passage and at the same time you have these kids and teenagers in the background wielding cutlasses, sticks and clubs in a provocative manner. They clearly constituted an impending threat and consciously put themselves in harms way. You can also see that the Officer was trying to get in touch with someone on the phone. It was clear that on the civilian part, there was no any form of leadership. Unfortunately, I am sure at this point El-Zakzaky was probably at home without a knowledge of what was going on. If you understand Hausa language, you will hear the Officer telling the man in front of him that he will personally be in front of his troops if they allow them passage and promised that nothing will happen. Common guys, no sane society in the world (not even Iran) will allow this type of attitude from people who constitute themselves into a threat to the society. If they can do this to a millitary personnel what do you think they will do to civilians. Please don't misconstrue my view, I am not in anyway supportive of the army killings neither am I sympathetic with the attitude of the civilian group. |
blazetitov:You are right @blazetitov, Arabic has nothing to do with this! This is Punch newspaper for you- trying to add some religious dimensions to what was an unfortunate misunderstanding between two individuals. Our journalists should help diffuse religious tensions rather than use the unique position they occupy to sow seeds of discord. Patience is indeed a virtue! |
meforyou1:Nice picture. I can see a Vice President who has not abandoned his constituency since becoming VP and surely he seems to enjoy the support of his Boss in this regard. In all fairness I think we have seen more of the VP attending religious function than we have seen of the President do since their assumption of office and there has been no "online war" of criticism or abuses as some "intolerant people" would have resorted to if PMB was to be seen attending religious functions. We as a people must learn to appreciate and tolerate ourselves irrespective of our religious affiliations. The fact that someone is a Muslim or Christian does not diminish his/her humanity. Remember, those who plunder our common wealth do not see religion as a barrier- they belong to all the religion. May we remain guided. |
Haba Mr Governor! This is not right. what about the issue of health and safety. He easily could end up with a dislocated toe and the next thing we hear is that he has been flown abroad for treatment. I am sure he was briefed on the nature of event and it would have just been ok to dress up to the occasion. And what is it about all these security guys that mill around elected personalities. Honestly they are part of the people that make these our politicians feel so important. |
This arms scandal is a crime against humanity and everyone involved must be prosecuted. Common, what exactly do these people want! Come to think about it, virtually all the people that are involved in this heinous crime are people who never lacked the basic necessities of life since they were born. I can only describe their action as the climax of man's extreme greed and wickedness to his fellow being and country. What on earth do you need all these money for. Vanity upon vanity!!! Can you imagine all the money collected by Dokpesi yet he was owing his workers salaries. Habaaaaaa!!! I am not sure if Dasuki with all the millions, billions and trillions, he ever thought it fair to build a common health post in his village or upgrade a 'small' community primary school in his village. Aside the judgement of man on these heartless fellows in this world, the judgement of God Almighty shall be severe on them and all those who have wickedly looted the common wealth of the Nigeria people. Families and lives have been destroyed as result of their insatiable quest for the vanity of this world. |

whatisthetruth:Unfortunately, this your hypothesis is not what the world need. "I will fervently advocate for a ban on Islam, a peaceful one, not one based on any kind of violence whatsoever" this is interesting!!! I am sorry, that is out of your reach to achieve. This is 21st Century bro! Saudi Arabia is basically the HQ to the over 1.6 billion muslim faithfuls worldwide (about 22% of the world population). You see you need to understand that Saudi Arabia stands is a 100% muslim country, the birthplace of the Holy Prophet, and home to Islams holiest sites - Makkah amd Madina. Saudi Arabia is the custodian of the Islamic faith. Saudi Arabia is to Muslims what the Vatican is to Christians. |
Bevista:you have said it all! Lets wait and see how the budget implementation fare by the end of first quarter 2016 before we can pass comments. Fingers crossed . |
true2god:Sometimes you just can not hold back when you see people propagating falsehood. I find it amusing how some people post information out of their own imagination. You statement above is not only laughable but completely wrong. I personally know a lot of wonderful Nigerian Christians and their families who bear some of these names you have quoted and they work and live in Saudi Arabia in the health, education, telecoms and oil and gas companies. Please stop spreading falsehood and don't allow yourself to be fooled by the political elites who have thrown the world into a lot of confusion in the last 20 years. As for Donald Trump, he is right to think and do whatever he wants if and when he becomes the USP but definitely he will need the approval of the US Senate to drive home any reformist agenda he has up his sleeves. Remember, the US runs a democracy.... |
