This is very pathetic. Sometimes you wonder how some people think and execute very barbaric and wicked acts. If she's got issues with the mum why hurt the baby? What she failed to realise is that this her wickedness to an innocent and helpless boy will by the special grace of God transform the boys fortune in life- a case in hand is the boy that was left to die in Akwa Ibom because he was suspected to be possessed by witchcraft. what is the boys' fate today? God showed him mercy and lifted him from his eminent painful end. So shall God almighty relieve this poor boy of his pains and trauma.
The woman MUST be found and made to face the judicial system. There should be no hiding place for her. This is a case of the State against her.

Is that a hospital? I cant hold back tears..... This is pathetic!!! Honestly our leaders (both political and civil) should be ashamed of themselves. Lets face the fact, how do you expect this boy to pull through in such a horrible place. God, you created this little soul and You know his predicaments, please grant him succour and good recovery. The most High and merciful God, please touch the heart of our leaders in every strata of our country Nigeria to be conscious of their obligations and duty to humanity. Leadership is a trust and a massive burden which we shall be held accountable by God.

The President refuses to sign the Budget because NASS inserted some unapproved projects which are not originally in the budget. The appropriation is in charge of the budget in NASS,so the budget has to pass through them but unfortunately for them they under rated the President thinking is going to be business as usual. So we the true Nigerians want the right thing done irrespective of how long it will take.
They thought its business as usual... Despite the initial scandal of budget padding by people trusted by the President to uphold the virtues of honesty and dedication, these our (s)elected representatives still had the gut to re-pad the budget for their own selfish interests. I hope it is clear to them that Nigeria has a new Sheriff. They fail to realise that even at 70+ this president is still strong, committed to the Nigerian dream and pay special attention to details especially when it has to do with documents and data. Honestly, we need to applaud the tenacity of President Buhari. However, it does not mean that we should not criticize him when he fails to do the needful. Luckily he is not tainted by corrupt practices or anti-social vices so our 'privileged' men and women in the hallow chambers can not find their way around him. Hopefully when the time for 2017 budget preparation comes everyone will sit up and do his/her constitutional duty without fear or favour. God bless Nigeria!!!
Foreign AffairsIceland Prime Minister Resigns by mistymoon(op): 4:54pm On Apr 05, 2016
The prime minister of Iceland has resigned - the first major casualty of the Panama Papers leaks which have shed an embarrassing spotlight on the world of offshore finance.
The leaks, from Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca, showed PM Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson owned an offshore company, Wintris, with his wife.
He was accused of concealing millions of dollars worth of family assets.
A big protest was held in front of parliament in Iceland on Monday.
Reports suggest the agriculture minister will be the new PM.
Dozens of high-profile global figures are named in the huge Mossack Fonseca leak.
Mr Gunnlaugsson had earlier called on the President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson to dissolve parliament, but that was refused.
Mr Grimsson said he wanted to speak to political parties first.
"I do not think it is normal that the prime minister alone... should be given the authority to dissolve the parliament without the majority of the parliament being satisfied with that decision," the president told reporters.
Some observers describe his rejection of the prime minister's request as highly unusual.
Panama Papers: Live updates
After refusing to resign on Monday, the prime minister appeared to come under increasing pressure from within his governing coalition too.
He took to Facebook on Tuesday to outline his position.
"I told the leader of the Independence Party that if the party's parliamentarians think they cannot support the government in completing joint tasks, I would dissolve parliament and call a general election," he wrote.

It is the duty of the government to ensure that justice is served for the victims family. This is the rule in all countries that value life. It is high time people are held responsible for their actions so that our society can gradually trace her path to doing the right thing. If people know that prosecution awaits them when they commit a crime involving road use then a great majority will apply some sense of caution when they drive. PoliticsRe: How Can You Pack Senators In A Bus- Senate Leader, Ali Ndume Queries by mistymoon: 5:22pm On Mar 04, 2016
contactmorak:
Senate Leader. Ali Ndume, was a guest on Channels TV this morning where he spoke on the controversial N4.7 billion reportedly meant for the purchase of new cars for each senator to carry out their oversight function. Ndume queried why Senators are expected to pack themselves in a coastal bus when carrying out their duties when Ministers and Local Government Chairmen have official cars. According to Ndume, Senators have not taken delivery of the cars as the budget has not been passed.

"No not yet. Money has been budgeted but the budget has not been passed and you know there is this public debate going on that Senators should not buy cars. Look I am a senator representing 9 Local governments. A Minister was appointed, 36 of them. All of them are driving a convoy of at least 4 cars. By protocol I am the senate leader. For example, I came with a car. I don't mind for example but what happens to my rights and privileges. For me personally, I don't care about driving a particular car. I move with any car but what happens to my rights and privilege as a Senate leader. For example the revenue and mobilization commission n their entitlements to my own office, are saying the senate leader should own two cars. We are supposed to do oversight as you know. Should I use my private car to do that?"he said
When asked why senators cannot ride in a coastal bus, he said
"How can I be going in a bus? You want me as a Senator to go in a bus? Senators going in a bus is as a matter of choice. When Senators are going to one place outside Abuja, how do you expect to pack them in a bus? Lets be honest. We are not buying cars for Senators. No. We are buying cars so that they will use those vehicles for committee work"he said
Asked if they will be made in Nigeria vehicles, he said "Well that one is another thing".

http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/03/how-can-you-pack-senators-in-bus-senate.html
Hmmm...That is the so call 'House Leader'. Common, defend your needs with logic and tenable points. so a minister going around with 4 cars is one of his justifications. In the first place, a minster does not need 4 cars to carry out his/her functions. That is one of the reasons you guys are elected to address some of the anomalies in the way we do things. Soon, a generation of the nth assembly will see the justification for them to fly around in chattered private jets because the president and vice president are using presidential jets. Honestly something must be done about our overhead cost of governance.

BusinessRe: $20billion Dollars Idle In Few Individual's Domiciliary Accounts-cbn by mistymoon: 11:16am On Mar 04, 2016
haykay2005:
Central Bank Governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele gave a shocking disclosure on Thursday about the massive dollar treasure in Nigerian banks, as the country goes cap in hand begging for foreign loan.

According to him, over $20 billion is sitting pretty in domiciliary accounts of private individuals at a time when the country is facing foreign exchange crisis and is chasing foreign loans, when its citizens could offer the loan.

The figure of idle dollars is $7.8 billion less than the entire national reserve of $27.8 billion, managed by the Central Bank.

Emefiele’s disclosure, via proxy, was made at a session of the joint committee on appropriation of the National Assembly.

Represented by the Deputy Governor in charge of Financial System Surveillance, Mr. Joseph Nnanna, Emefiele said keeping the huge volume of dollars idle had compounded the forex crisis confronting the country.

“As I’m talking to you, $20billion is in various domiciliary accounts of individuals. Naira is our currency, why are they keeping the foreign currency? From my experience in the international finance, I have never seen a country where its nationals speculate on its currency,” he said.

http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2016/03/shocking-20-billion-idle-in-banks-as-govt-begs-for-5b-external-loan/
No wonder there is this loud cry to devalue the naira. Thank God PMB understands the intent and has remained firm. Remember, its not you and I who own those dorm account, a huge chunk of that $20 billion surely belong to our greedy and selfish elites, politicians and good-for-nothing political beggars who in the last 2 to 3 decades turned our country to 'their' ATM. Nigeria can attain greatness only if we, her citizens change our ways and attitude to public trust and aspire to do the right thing wherever we find ourselves - be it as teachers, traders, artisans, head of the family, civil servants, service providers, etc. Citizens of the developed countries like America, UK, Germany, Canada etc will not come to salvage us and give us a better country or services, it is our duty to build the country of our dream that future generations would be proud of.

What evidence do you have to indicate that she was subjected to Qatar's cultural/religious practice. I guess you have not been to any of the GCC countries - Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain to comprehend the fact there is no way someone in the capacity of Kemi Adeosun will be subjected/forced to dress the way she did. She must have put on the head garb to impress her Boss or host - typical of an average Nigerian! I stand firm to say that no one would have forced her to dress like that as you seem to claim. Get that clear!

As a minister in the Federal Cabinet of Nigeria signing a bilateral agreement on behalf of Nigeria in Qatar, tradition demands that She(Kemi Adeosun) is accorded the same respect as the President as her presence carries as much authority with the President.

Under no circumstances should a person of her capacity be subjected to conform to the cultural/religious practice of the host country.

Kemi Adeosun is a Nigerian Minister visiting Qatar, she is a foreigner, therefore she is not bound by Qatari laws or culture which can't be enforced on her.

It is utmost disrespect for her person and Nigeria as a nation to see her subjected to covering her hair to please Qatari officials. This attempt of cowardice to Qatari Islamic custom denigrates the office of the Minister of Finance and totally against Global Practice.

Madam Kemi Adeosun, next time you find yourself in an Arab nation, refuse vehemently to cover your hair, their laws are not binding on you.You are their visitor and your person must be respected.
BusinessRe: Banks Stop Use Of ATM Cards Abroad #Emefieleconomics by mistymoon: 1:39am On Dec 21, 2015
olafusimic:
My friends, there is only one thing the CBN is trying to protect: the foreign reserve.

It should stop using the outdated managed float exchange rate policy. Advanced countries freely float their exchange rate. If we keep pegging the dollar to N197, not even a $60 billion foreign reserve will save us. It will eventually run out. And all this demand control mechanism is not economically sound, just a way of pushing the inevitable forward.

I understand that Emefiele doesn't want the political pressure that will come with having the naira exchange at the prevailing market rate and let the foreign reserve be used for more strategic and nation building purpose. But this stopping all online payment denominated in foreign currency is economically more damaging and unsustainable.

A sound economy is built on trade. You focus on where your comparative advantage lies. Even if we try to build everything we need, it will take us decades to have high tech industries that build useable cars (not assemble them) or a mobile phone. And that is like going back to the stone age where everyone built everything he needed himself.

It's unfortunate that in this modern days, when other forward thinking countries are building capacity for high value industries and shifting low value production to other less forward thinking countries, our country is obsessed with going back to the 18th century when you avoid banks and governments.

We borrow to pay salaries and oil subsidy, instead of building infrastructure that will grow our production/economic capacity.

The only way to make things better is to improve the supply side. Give Nigerians constant electricity (even if you have to borrow from IMF to do it) and watch businesses rise and bloom. Make it easier for businesses to start and run, not increase taxes and fining the few doing well. Set up industrial research institutes and promote innovation, not funding snail business and poultry farming seminars for NYSC people (did they spend 5 years in Uni to go start snail farming?).

No country grows by sharing the nation's fortune among a few and transferring pain to the masses.
Thank you for your candid view.

There has to be a proper engagement with the citizens of Nigeria in this subsidy boju boju. Let the government come clean on what exactly is going on with the subsidy issue. We can not continue to fund some peoples empire at the expense of the people. Let's look at the current situation in the country- the government claims that the products are subsidized and yet the pump prices are still unbelievably high. Global crude prices has dropped from a high of $65 at the beginning of this year to around $35 this week. What this means is that prices of refined products have equally dropped globally but we have not seen that trend from the so called importers of petroleum products. Honestly if as a nation we can not sort out the crisis in the oil and power sector so that we can have affordable and stable refined products and electricity supply then our journey to the promised land will remain an illusion.

FOLYKAZE:
The soldiers are supposed to be battle ready and always ready to defend Nigeria territory.

No one know exactly how this started. But believe me, this soldiers would have firstly approached them even before tbis video was shot. Remember the pictures Ibnsultan released. The Army chief was with the protesting youth pleading for pass. The picture reveal some pleas were made and the protesters rejected the plea. This rises to soldiers forming wall. A look at the beginning of the video shows that the soldiers formed a wall protecting their convoy. This video is indeed showing second attempt by the soldiers to plea to the protesters.

The soldiers have done their best and are nowhere to be blame here. This protesters had on them weapons and are ready to attack. Think about it. If these gallant men were posted to defend you, will you be happy if some miscreants block your way and threatened you with stick, clubs, bow and arrow while your soldiers watch without doing anything. These nuisance even have cutlass with them. This is enough threat signal and enough reason for attack. The best form of defence is attack. I think they did a great job there
The video gives some clue on what transpired on that fateful day. Its only fair that we look at issues with an unbiased sentiments. If anyone who lives or have lived within the north during crisis will understand this is the typical attitude of 'miscreants' who go about killing and destroying harmless individuals under the pretext of defending religion. Can you imagine the fluidity of the scenario- here you have an Officer (who clearly is a Hausa man) pleading with people to allow them passage and at the same time you have these kids and teenagers in the background wielding cutlasses, sticks and clubs in a provocative manner. They clearly constituted an impending threat and consciously put themselves in harms way. You can also see that the Officer was trying to get in touch with someone on the phone. It was clear that on the civilian part, there was no any form of leadership. Unfortunately, I am sure at this point El-Zakzaky was probably at home without a knowledge of what was going on. If you understand Hausa language, you will hear the Officer telling the man in front of him that he will personally be in front of his troops if they allow them passage and promised that nothing will happen. Common guys, no sane society in the world (not even Iran) will allow this type of attitude from people who constitute themselves into a threat to the society. If they can do this to a millitary personnel what do you think they will do to civilians. Please don't misconstrue my view, I am not in anyway supportive of the army killings neither am I sympathetic with the attitude of the civilian group.

We as a people must learn to appreciate and tolerate ourselves irrespective of our religious affiliations. The fact that someone is a Muslim or Christian does not diminish his/her humanity. This is why I feel the world would end through Islam, because Christianity teaches peace and restraint as you rightfully said.

However, islam teaches otherwise.

I will fervently advocate for a ban on islam, a peaceful one, not one based on any kind of violence whatsoever. I would do this, because islam teaches hatred in later verses which apparently supersede the initial peaceful verses.

Did you know that bibles are banned in Saudi Arabia?

Did you know that public churches are banned in Saudi Arabia as well?

However, as islam grows, I forsee it getting it's way regardless and that would be the end of freedom in the world. A time of tribulation I believe for the non-believers of islam.

This is a hypothesis by me, as I am still working to uncover new evidence everyday to support this.
Unfortunately, this your hypothesis is not what the world need. "I will fervently advocate for a ban on Islam, a peaceful one, not one based on any kind of violence whatsoever" this is interesting!!! I am sorry, that is out of your reach to achieve. This is 21st Century bro! Saudi Arabia is basically the HQ to the over 1.6 billion muslim faithfuls worldwide (about 22% of the world population).

I'll help with some figures of the budget proposals of the FG from 2011, just to provide some perspective:

2011
Budget Proposed - N4.97Trillion
Oil Price Used - $75
Oil Production - 2.3mbbls/day

2012
Budget Proposed - N4.75Trillion
Oil Price Used - $70
Oil Production - 2.48mbbls/day

2013
Budget Proposed - N4.98Trillion
Oil Price Used - $79
Oil Production - 2.53mbbls/day

2014
Budget Proposed - N4.91Trillion
Oil Price Used - $75
Oil Production - 2.39mbbls/day

2015
Budget Proposed - N4.49Trillion
Oil Price Used - $53
Oil Production - 2.28mbbls/day

2016
Budget Proposed - N6.0Trillion
Oil Price Used - $38
Oil Production - 2.2mbbls/day

I am interested in seeing the revenue details from the budget to know exactly how government intends to fund the budget. My first instinct, though, is that leackages in revenue generating agencies (like NCS, NPA, NNPC, etc) have been blocked and all funds channeled into the TSA. That the government has been able to come up with that size of budget - even in the face of declining oil prices & lower oil production levels - without depreciating the official exchange rate of the Naira - is truly remarkable.

How GEJ (with benchmark oil price of over $75 throughout his term) was not able to come up with a budget of up to N5T beggars belief. One can now say without equivocation that, had PMB met an oil price of $75, we would be talking about a N10T budget. Kindly note that during GEJ term, oil price was actually higher ($105) than the budget benchmark and yet our Foreign Reserves and ECA was declining.
you have said it all! Lets wait and see how the budget implementation fare by the end of first quarter 2016 before we can pass comments. Fingers crossed embarassed .

Saudi arabia does not issue visa to anybody whose names are Joseph, Peter, David, elizabeth, Emmanuel, Benjamin, Timothy, and other christian related names, unless you are a diplomat or a white oil worker (like an expatriate).

So if the US stop issuing visas to people whose names are mohammed, aisha, abdulkareem, usman, muttalib, zainab, and other islamic\arab names, it is ok. Security first.
Sometimes you just can not hold back when you see people propagating falsehood. I find it amusing how some people post information out of their own imagination. You statement above is not only laughable but completely wrong. I personally know a lot of wonderful Nigerian Christians and their families who bear some of these names you have quoted and they work and live in Saudi Arabia in the health, education, telecoms and oil and gas companies. Please stop spreading falsehood and don't allow yourself to be fooled by the political elites who have thrown the world into a lot of confusion in the last 20 years.
As for Donald Trump, he is right to think and do whatever he wants if and when he becomes the USP but definitely he will need the approval of the US Senate to drive home any reformist agenda he has up his sleeves. Remember, the US runs a democracy....
