Kathrine walked into the cafe and spotted her friends. She walked up to the table and sat down on a seat.

"Hey guys" she said as soon as she was settled
"Hey" they said in unison
"Whats goin on?" she asked as she looked at their faces which were expresionless.

"Someone here is having a secret affair" Karen, the owner of the cafe, who had been kat's friend since college said.

"And with a very cute guy" Kim, her sister said with a mischevious grin.
"Who is that?" Kat asked obviously confused.
"The culprit is asking" Lacey, Kim's friend from college chipped in.

"why didnt you tell us that you are dating Max" Kim asked
"That is because am not"
"you've got to be kidding me" Lacey said.

"you are not dating him but you have the key to his house?" kim asked.
Karen and Lacey gasped in surprise.
"That can only mean one thing" Kim continued
"Dont tell me you are screwing him?" Karen asked
"Hell no, am not" Kat said makin a face of disgust.

"Dont make that face" Kim said "I know you want to screw him as much as i want to.

Kathrine matched Kim's foot under the table.
"Ouch!!..that hurts" Kim said
"Don't even think of that" Karen said faking anger.

"Dont be so greedy, Kat" Kim said "We are meant to share everything because we are sisters" she continued, pouting her lips like a kid which made the others laugh.

"Guess who has a date this night"?
Karen asked grining.
"you have a date?!!" Kim asked excited.
"Yep" Karen said with a smile.
"I am so happy for you" Lacey said as they all took turns in hugging her.

They were all happy for Karen because she hadnt been an a date since her husband died a year ago.

"I think its time to move on" Karen said with a small smile.
"I havent been on a date for 3 months now" Kat said as she remembered her ex boyfriend who had disappeard 3 months ago.

"You can always ask Max on a date" Lacey said.
"Wont that be wierd" Kat asked
"Wake up Kat" Kim said tapping Kat "This is 21st century not 700 BC".
"What if he rejects me?"Kat asked
"After that steamy scene we just witnessed in his car?" lacey asked "I doubt it" she said.

"Speaking of your date karen" Kim said "You aint gonna wear any of those clothes in ur closet"
"Why not?" Karen asked
"Because they are outdated" Lacey helped out with the answer.
"We are going to give you an official make over, am i right lacey? Kim asked.

"Yes" Lacey answered "I am getting the makeup and the curling iron for your hair"
"And i am getting the dress" Kim said
"I guess i'll just tag along to support you" Kat said.

Karen smiled and said "Thank you guys"
"What are friends for" Lacey said as she reached over and held her hand.
"oh shoot" Karen said as she glanced at her watch "I have to pick Lucy from school".

Lucy was her only child from her marriage to her late husband.
"Where would Lucy stay this night while you are on your date?" Kat asked.

"Shes sleepin over at a friend's house" Karen replied
"I still have to find someone who would buy this house"Lacey who was a realtor.
"Goodluck with that" Kim said as she stood up and grabbed her purse.

"We should better get back to the store Kat" Kim said.
Kat picked up her purse and they all left the cafe chatting and laughing about numerous things.

Anyone who saw them thought they looked perfectly happy.
Karen Tanner, Kathrine and Kimberely Blackstone and Lacey Carver have been close friends for years.
Karen and Kat were the religious and uptight ones while Kim and Lacey were carefree and funny.

"See you guys later at my house" Karen said as she parted ways with them.
"Time to get back to the store before our sweet store keeper will decide to steal our jewelries and elope to a remote village where we wont be able to find her" Kim said as they enterd a Taxi.

Kat laughed "You are being paranoid" Kat said as the taxi zoomed off to the store.
