Why don't we do the cost like the way you did on the previous, now deleted thread i.e : *Cost of PC & accessories *Cost of Ink *Cost of Perfumes ( At least I know this to be 10800+4500 = 15,300Naira) *Commission for you *Shipping & Clearing to Nigeria *Transportation to Calabar Then the total. In that way, everything is clear, transparent & people will learn how to calculate in subsequent dealings. My thoughts anyway. |
Remove the CK One Tester then |
justi4jesu: Am on it but the First Ck perfume cant be an original at that price. But you do appreciate it's a tester. I don't want to use price alone to determine the authenticity of an item. Let me cite an example, I lost a very good deal of SMART Collection of Designers Perfume Oils (18 of them in a pack ) worth 600AED which was offered at 160AED. The bottleneck of the process of informing you, the tiresome bill preparation & compulsory wiring of money makes those good deals disappear before you know it. You also knew about the BMW car. Too much story. Why don't we ask the seller if it the CK One Tester is genuine? I think they are usually truthful especially when they know you are in UAE with them? |
Is there a problem Ma about the invoice & bill making? Let's do this quick. |

Can!ne: georgecso: *Sigourney weaver's Aliens 1,2 and 3..Georgesco, your head, sure, is massively there. You try gan ni 'Saw' series was great. Likewise was 'Wrong Turn' But none have I seen that beats my perceived mother of all horrors : HOUSE OF WAX Larry-Sun!, please, as much as I doff my hat for your review, it's incomplete without 'House of Wax'. Please, kindly see it and place the movie in the appropriate place in your review. All these are great: *Bride of Chuckky *Exorcism of Emily Rose ( A must-watch for me every week. This movie, albeit it's being a true-life story screen adaptation, is just a Paranormal ) *The Collector ( The one with Denzel Washington ) *The Elm's Street *The Exorcist *The Red Dragon *Wish But they are child's play to 'House of Wax' |
emmanuel ewumi: you are wrong a principal in a public school earns about 5 million naira per annum, while principals of high brow private schools earn more than this. Please, as much as possible, let us verify our claims before posting them. Ideas posted on a platforms or fora like this are meant to educate, guide and be a sort of reference. Why would you then want to misinform people, even if unknowingly ? No where in this country does a Public-Secondary Schl Principal earns 200K/month legitimately! Even, the highest ranking principals ( those who were lucky to be promoted to Grade Level 17 which is quite a feat ) get monthly 120-150K. Any principal making a legitimate annual income of 2M is no rookie & must have put in nothing less than 20 years of quality time and experience! Where then did we get 5M/annum? I know some Public-Servants can source some income from Exam things ( called'RUNS') and this can be meaty depending on the grade or size of such school. But you will quite agree with me that this is VERILY VERY CORRUPT & ILLEGAL. |
Hi and good afternoon to you my fellow family of NLders. I just noticed a freebie this morning and I thought I shouldn't keep shut because a Yoruba adage says as I quote " àdáje ní hun ni, àjoje kìí hun mo " meaning, as I translate, " someone who chops alone will certainly die alone " You get my drift! I have plenty SIMs out of which 3 are MTN, no thanks to all these our opportunist phone network services provider. You know noooow!!, as a man of a small means, I gat apply sense. Of the 3 MTN lines, 1 is on Trutalk platform, another is on iPulse while the 3rd is on Supersaver. This morning, I preposterously checked my bonus balance on the iPulse SIM using the code *559# only to see 1005MB of which I didn't buy any data subscription. I quickly checked the other 2 SIMs to see if the "winch" ( as one NLder called it on the other thread ) had spread the freebies on all my SIMs. I discovered that the Supersaver SIM also carried 1005MB It was only the cursed Trutalk SIM that was eluded of this awoof I don almost finish the combined 2GB because I know say that thing may not see tomorrow light. I'm still using the free data. As a matter of fact, this is what I'm using to raise this thread. So NLders in Nigeria ( Make the diasporans no vex ooh. No be my fault ), if you are an MTN subscriber on iPulse or Supersaver plan, kindly quickly check your bonus balance using code *559# to see if you are blessed with this freebies so that you can use it sharp-sharp!!! " Ó ñ pé nílè, ó ñ dose " i.e a patient dog gets no bone!!! God bless me, God bless you, And for once, God bless 'emptyhen'. |
Hmmmm!!!!, I don't really know how to start this piece. I hardly comment on NL despite having read great literary pieces on this forum. Perhaps, hitting it off from your strong points will suffice. Maaaaaaaan!, you've got an amazing spellbinding IMAGINATIVE mind & your creativity is astoundingly out-of-this-world. Believe me! Writing Paranormals & Mystics is one of the most difficult in prose because it demands the most intricate, complex and top-notch imaginatively creative brain, which is quite rare to possess. The substance and matrix of your piece are unique and of quality. This genre has the least size of writers. The only African writer I read who belongs to this class, albeit sad he wrote in Yoruba, was the Late Prof D.O Fagunwa of blessed memory. I am not eulogizing you but you will quite agree with me that credit ought to be rendered when deservedly merited. What more could I say to express your creativity!!! You blended both Paranormal + Mystic into Romance and Thriller. Wonderful!!!, isn't it? I can conveniently place you in the class of Lobsang Rampa & Stephen King without any felt restraint. The only thing left for you to master is the refinement which to me is, though tedious, easily learnt and surmountable. The most difficult qualities to possess as a writer are imagination, the matrix/substance and creativity. Others, as essential as they may be, ( e.g detailing, diction, syntax use etc ) are relatively easier to acquire. Few mistakes I picked in this piece : * Typos e.g seating ( sitting ), sitted ( seated ), intruiged ( intrigued ), dimention ( dimension ) etc I do understand that typing with phone or phablet is not easy and with it, typos sure are unavoidable but we still have to mention. * Tidying up the loose ends of your Settings/Plots which you actually tried to do well but there are still some few subtle errors of omission ( please pardon me that I used this word because I found the appropriate word elusive ). This was where Rene Raymond ( James Hadley Chase ) got my respect in that, despite not having visited US before, his Plots/Settings are excellently set in US with amazing precision that got the Americans shocked to their marrows. They simply found it utmost incredible that he had not been to US. Examples of the mistakes here are : #Dr Paul wearing a wardcoat. Psychiatrists rarely wear such because it impairs the unique doctor-patient relationship needed in Psychiatry as against other medical specialties. #I expected the parents to have discharged him against medical advice since most orthodox medical centers will not allow them engage in the mysterious exercise of contacting his alternate hidden personality ( Chuk the Strong ) right there on the ward. But then, you still did a good job at it that you almost kept me wondering if you are a doctor. Those diagnoses ( Drug-Induced Psychosis, Catatonic-State, Manic-presentation etc ),were whoa!, so on point. My fear was deciphering if this one-piece epic artistry is a "fluke", and the predictability/assurance of maintaining consistence in excellent writing. But that notion was dispelled when I saw the comment of Ishilove where she inferred you being a 1st Runner-up in a contest ( who the heck was the winner !!! ? I obviously need to find out! ) with your previous artistic piece of probable less-finesse. I guess it's titled "The Haunted One" I'm off to check it ASAP. What even enthralled & endeared me to you most is your humility, unalloyed courtesy and meek-spirit! Chai !!!, these sparked my brain! Nothing gets me melting like an "unpuffed-up" spirit. I know the type when I come across them. Please, kindly do not mind this my next questions which you might find too personal & uncomfortable. If you are perturbed by it, you are free not to answer: * Are from Ondo/Ekiti State ? * Any past experience with white-garment churches/CAC or 7-Day Adventist ? * Your core profession sir ? In concluding, I don't need to tell you that you are going unbelievable places and win unimagined laurels if you care to nurture this crazy brain you have got. Yours indeed is truly a beautiful brain. ***Phew!!!, this guy is so good that I had to type all these !!! *** Lest I forget, did I read Ishilove say she's a trained Molecular Physicist!!! ? Hmmm!!!, SMH seriously. No wonderrrrrrr !!! ( Don't even try to ask me anything oooh!!! ) |
billtommy: Am not really confused.......you said u wud prefer I use nissan almera for d transport biz, u gave it 8/10 with its likely faults....as well as micra*roomy factor*......but u never gave a disadvantage of VW 3.....and for d record.......am gonna be getting a manual drive of any of the 3....to save maintenance cost.I did Sir! I said it is proned to developing electrical issues easily. The shocks are also known to develop faults easily Road noise is high Of the 3, it has the heaviest weight 1-1.2tonne which means the dragging force will be high. Averagely, it has the least fuel efficiency out of the 3 ( ~25/26 city - 32/33 highway mpg ) |
FA-CIGAR:Hmmmm!!!! Lord have mercy!!!! |
You need to appreciate the fact that there many other qualities or parameters to assess when considering a car for taxi service apart from ruggedness. They may even be more salient e.g Fuel Economy especially in the city as against highway Running Cost Haulage Capacity Reliability Breakdown index / frequency Durability. Baring no unrectified nor unidentified faults, this is my take : GOLF MK III Fuel economy depends on the engine capacity which ranges from 1.4 - 3.0 L though the commonest are the 1.6 & 1.8 L. I will give 6/10. Major review sites noted its being prone to electrical problems though more with the Automatic. Rugged but not as the MK II model. Inner decor & materials can endure and take enough beatings for a long time with significant residual appeal. Has the largest boot space among the 3 and the back seat can easily be collapsed to increase space. Over all, I will give 6/10 and if you can get the 1.4L, the score moves up to 7/10. Nissan Almera Decent fuel economy with model's engine capacity ranging from 1.3 - 2.2L though the commonest are the 1.4-1.6 L. Nice interior decor and materials with wears & depreciation similar to MKIII. Rugged & very stable Fair boot capacity Maintenance cost quite low and engine can take a lot of abuse. Pay a lot of attention to timing belt/chain and also the headlamps. I will root for this in my opinion because it is an all-rounder for me. Of course, my score is 8/10 Nissan Micra Nothing mobile beats the fuel efficiency except perhaps, tricycles ( Keke Napep ), Power bikes or the hybrid cars. Most come with engine capacity of 1 - 1.2L. Maintenance cost is cheaper. But boot space is small. Will be difficult to carry 3 over-sized passengers. Low ground-clearance compared to the other 2 which makes it difficult in a flooded or uneven terrain. But then it's reliability is quite unbelievably high which probably makes it the best and most-trusted brand car choice for the teeming city taxi-driver population of Ibadan metropolis. Overall, I will give 7.5/10. I hope I have not confused you more cos too much info seem to confound knowledge-seeker |
@ OP Your article reminds me of that great song by Robert Kelly " When A Woman's Fed Up ". Sure!, there's nothing you can do about it. |
Fynist: Bro you just said it all. It takes a person, with very high intelligence to interpret Lil'wayne Songs. I am a Musical Fan. I listen to Virtually all Music. So, op's assertions are crapYou really got me grinning !!! You don't seem to get him Stillwater meant that Canibus is way far incomparable to Wayne cos Canibus rocks great lyrics, witty aphorisms & flow mastery as compared to supposed Wayne's wacky/vain themes but superb delivery. Believe me, Wayne ( including a whole lot of those Cash Money Record Label Artistes ) sounds very vain with his heavy synthetic-beats and monotonous lyrics on booze, cash, thug-life, whor-ing etc And I am sure I am familiar with his works right from his '500 Degrees' Album which I think he dropped in 99/2000 |
she-blayze:Hmm, you truly blaze !!!! |

Vickii Ro: Seun shld stop fibbing joor..Exactly!!! It seems Seun was unborn at the time his father did the sordid deed nor did Dede Mabiaku had joined the band. After all, Seun was born 1987 or there-about ( I don't know when Dede joined the band). I can still recollect the dumb-founding tales my dad & his friends regalled me about how Fela performed in briefs in their undergraduate hay-days at UI in the 70s So, these their side of the story is obviously not a true picture. Fela did perform in panties in the early part of his musical career |

@ OP/Prof Femi, Please, will this school be a PG type? Generally speaking, I am of the opinion that addressing the corruption bane of this country will improve the quality of graduates the higher institutions churn out. At least, the standard of such centers will soar high so much that the error ( of omission of not recognizing/identifying exceptional scholars, or commission of turning gifted students into ordinary ) will be reduced. But then, I use to say things will, perhaps, keep getting worse because the end has come. All these events are just circumstantial. |
AjanleKoko: One person that seems to have understood the need to raise the quality of tertiary education is Lagos Governor, Fashola. While I see eye-to-eye with you on discouraging 'mass-production' styled education, I don't think you should be quick to shower BRF with accolades nor support his actions because the underpinnings & basis of that draconian decision were to raise IGR ( evidence-based with his up-scaled review of almost all levies, duties & taxes in Lagos-State ). I doubt he reasoned your way nor see what you saw. By the way, I am not of the school of thought which opined that raising the tuition-fee solves the ills of cheap education. There has to be better & pragmatic solution. |
owee: Interesting piece...Reading this brought to mind my experience with the Duster....It was used to convey us from the airport to office to hotel ..... during my last project in PH...And I must say I was really impressed with the car...though its not the most attractive of cars but comes across as solid and practical.....Pls, kindly pardon my late response. I seldom come online cos of my busy work-nature. The Dacia/Renault line, I think though not with certainty, is being marketed and serviced by Stallion Motors with the major depot for the Duster, interestingly, at Port-Harcourt. Pls, kindly ask specific & detail question from any Automobile Marketing Firm and you will never miss road. You can't go wrong with the choice of that car Cheers |
LoveAmaka88: I need to have an initial conversation with you that is so intellectually intriguing that I am checking my phone for you to call me and racking my brain for clever things to say. Calling me over to you or catcalling me will result in me ignoring you. Saying something about the way I look is a bad idea. Asking me for my number before you know my name and general direction in life means you are too impatient to find out if I'm worth calling before you call me so why would I talk to you on the phone. A "hello, my name is _____" with a firm handshake and eye contact is actually a good approach for me. Usually from the moment of your first approach I am interviewing you. If you treat it like a job interview: confident, polite, willing to answer questions...etc I'll open up and things will go very well. Did you every start a job interview very formally and professionally, but end up in a relaxed casual conversation with the interviewer? It's a willingness to share and the ability to engage me that I find impressive. Don't start off asking me questions. I'll volunteer information based on your own willingness to share information. But we were taught that the height of impoliteness & uncivility in social etiquette is for a male to extend his hand to a lady 1st, for a handshake. You might not find real gentlemen offering you their hands 1st or what do you think? |
