This is the kind of discussion I enjoyed though Barcanista was a bit harsh Got me educated At least, I now know that : (A). KONIJU = The acclaimed pure-blooded Okrikans who are mostly Fishermen and who repute themselves to be the real land-owners/original settlers. TUBONIJU = The supposed half-bred/mixed-blooded Okrikans who are predominantly & traditionally Traders and either, at best, are the products from the Original Settlers & the Migrants OR at worse, the migrants themselves or their descendants. Then, the line is very thin now because of the influence of : - the profound acceptance by the original-settlers ; - the age of the community ; - disallowing discrimination and - the inter-clanic union. (B). That the small community (judging by its landmass) command a whopping large allocation among the 774 LGAs in Nigeria (C). That the Okrika-Community have a highly-placed but coveted leader-position called AMANAYABOR Ibime, I doff my hat. You are sure lettered and well-refined at that. You know your root plus your onions You should be a historian. An intellectual person should not have a boring moment around you That was quite informative Enjoy your day sir |
tpia@:Tpia@: Discipline is not exclusive to marriage alone It is needed in all forms of relationships That's why one should look well before he/she commits Once you feel it is not worth it, quickly get out & be open, plain & candid |
tbaba1234: ^ Well, i guess we have a case study. All your points are home My brother, you have said it all I mean " Eré kí lajá békùn se? " Leave all those who believe otherwise & let them be deceiving themselves Self-Discipline & Fidelity are the foundation on which a good relationship stands No matter how wonderful a person is, once integrity, self-discipline & fidelity are lacking, the remaining substance is just fake, amorphous chaffs @ TOKS: It's too saddening I do not mean to be harsh but despite your wife's other good attributes, she appears not to be a wife material. And I guess you didn't say here what actually got you pissed! Which is the fact that she seemed to enjoy the side-relationship plus she isn't willing to stop/cut-off the relationships. Maybe she's even still enjoying her communication with them! Most ladies of today do not know what the sanctity of relationship means It has made me to start questioning the maxim that " Men are naturally polygamous " I think it is the other way round I'm not here to discuss your private matters but this is worth learning "Ögbón ológbón ni kò úñ jé ká pe àgbà ni wèrè" God will give you wisdom to settle the dust |

Very nice thread. Interesting topic at that which can only attract brainiards. 1st page got me bewildered at the sheer number of natural philosophers & psychologists we got in the house. Excellent contributions from "Ruudie", "Cold" & "Slimyem". Your reasonings are, absolutely, way outta this world. |
Ìyániwúrà123: Once again, I've taken a look at it and she was still in school in 1982, the correction has been made. Thanks a lot for bringing this to my attention. Thank you so much for pointing that out! Very nice of you. I will check again to be sure the error is not mine. Thank you so much!My bad too then maa'm ! It is quite info-entertaining reading your works. Great! Enjoy your day ma. |
Goodmorning Iyaniwura!,what a nice article to wake up in bed with! Motherhood is indeed golden! While commending her personality, professionalism & pretty-look, I must say that I still don't get why we love tampering with our age. When I saw in the article that she completed her degree education at ABU in 1981, I got thinking how come? I, then, saw further down when she claimed to have been at home in 1979 awaiting admission! How did she make it graduating in less than 3 years? A little tuning of her age! Now, you can question me what my headache is! The truth is that to whom much is given, much is expected! Little yeast leaves the whole dough leavened! A tiny drop of bile spoils the whole broth! You can't guarantee being faithful & honest in larger matters when you are found wanting in inconsequential items! Hell no! My parents are equally guilty of this crime ! Hence, it is not as if I'm playing an " holier than thou " attitude. If we are crying foul of the festering reckless abounding cankerworm called corruption, the war against it starts from ensuring honesty in seeming unimportant matters e.g age declaration to our employers Goodmorning NLders |
Olodostein: Nice one... I can't quantify if it skipped the OP memory that to "settle down with someone" actually means to "put up with their attitude". It shows that she isn't entering the relationship WHOLEHEARTEDLY - which is the essence of a relationship or perhaps true love.Nope sir!, the OP is trying to say there are some values & ideals that are indispensable to the fulfilling/successful outcome of any relationship ( not only marriages ) irrespective of your personality, background, educational status, wealth, culture, gender etc A selfless/non-narcissistic life does not include putting up with disrespect, being without purpose, wealth-driven life, insensitiveness, inconsiderate-spirit, immorality/unfaithfulness etc |
jamace: Good piece here.My people, I tire oooooooo for these "It is too long" folks Like you stated, go see their seriousness & reading zeal in threads like "I am a Sex-addict", "NYSC- National Year of Sex & Comfort" etc, you go laugh die. |
abdulkayus: Abeg, all dis show on music and fake reality show don too much na. We need program on STEM; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, dat will encourage youth to go for science nt all dis dance and sing show. All d one dey hav been doin b4, hw many of dem don blow apart frm few flash in a pan. Black Peni5: Naija got talentWe are in the end time & things will only get worse with our misplaced priority. What happened to the only show showcasing the talents & brains in Africa - ZAIN CHALLENGE ( The Pan-African University Quiz Competition) It went grounded to zilch after 2 years (Mehn, I love that show with passion. Maybe because of my personality) Come see brains!!! Your mind will be shattered!!! But then, what was the stake? I guess $10,000 It is a good start but this is too paltry & meagre-looking compared to money squandered (my apology if I'm being harsh) at all these mundane shows e.g BBA, GUS, PROJ FAME et cetera We all need to stop complaining & whining about Yahoo-yahooing, 419ing, Aristo-ing, BB-Syndrome , dearth & depletion of professionalism & intellectuals since we started & regale the process of advancing cheap crass talents in place of intelligence & real education. |
But then, we should also put in mind that : * The research organizations/bodies try as much within their capacity to protect the subjects & in case of remediable untowards effects, attempt corrective measures They usually have a well-informed idea of likely side-effects due to the chemical profiling & classification of such compound. Hence, the subjects are well briefed & educated * Most of the drugs that we have at this modern-day all went through these clinical trials. Hence, the process could be seen as an ultimate scientific means geared towards humankind advancement I am not endorsing the practice outright. I just feel we should have a balanced view. Afterall, there are a lot of potential lethal things we are exposed to daily & we don't care. Like I said, I'm not all rooting for engaging in such projects |
Bros, Well done plus I hail oooo! I won't talk 2 much As you dey talk say wife dey hunger you when you never even enter camp, if care is not taken, you will most likely end up in the hand of a "bush-meat" allowee By the way, let me warn you that if you mistakenly put a bush-meat in the family way, that means say you don get your discharge certificate be that. It happened to a fellow corper who mistakenly impregnated a local/community lady & wanted to dodge by sneaking to the POP to get his certificate &then disappear ! The villagers were smarter They had visited the State Coordinator who simply told them the day of POP & how they should spring a surprise Long story, the guy married ooo |
This is interesting For those who couldn't read the theme of the writer, it was because of the style of the writing. It was devoid of a central theme but kept hopping & fleetingly addressed several issues such as: * The wide held negative perspective of the society concerning people having mental challenges no matter how little it is * The wrong view of not recognizing that mental disorders are more than psychotic illnesses & the need to summon courage & access care once you accept the fact that something in you is amiss * Her partial-detailed struggles with BPD @PDude, I have always share similar opinion with you & I do have a great respect for you Same goes for the politically-inclined Nagoma But I differ tonight I could understand Nagoma saying he doesn't believe in psychiatry knowing where he is coming from But you PDude!, you are a doctor for Pete' s sake That's why I overlook the layman's poor awareness & knowledge of mental disorder. If a large proportion of medical experts still share same believe with PDude or at worse take it to the next by thinking they are non-curable, non-medical but are of spiritual aetiology, where are you going to start the campaign and enlightenment ? Seriously SMH I don't even know what to say pDude: She talked about the following symptoms/signsHara-kiri (& other similar deviant practices ) are contextual abnormal behaviors which are well accepted in a culture & norms of a society is not a mental abnormality, & it is long way different from suicide or deliberate self harm DSH done in a context of unstable mental state/poor judgment & which is culturally not acceptable The definition of what you have up there is grief & is not same thing as depression. Please, take note that they are different Panic-attacks is a well defined mental disorder which is treatable and responds to drugs with full remission If what you have is not enough to cause you a distress or your functioning a setback, then you can't say you have it. Do you know a lot of people who are obese but takes pride in their look? Fine, maybe you don't meet the diagnostic criteria for Body Dysmorphic Disorder but you do know that you had issues then and you were not well adjusted. That you couldn't access health then because you didn't have the info does not mean now that you can discredit that such disease entity exist & is treatable Please, let us exercise caution when we have little info about a contentious matter. |
Mazi_Omenuko: Is ishi trying out some p'o'r'n??You of all folks ! Knight of the Order of Desecration himself ! I'm sure you are playing devil's advocate. |
While I acknowledge the highly-captivating nature of your prose, I squirm in great displeasure whenever I get to a scene (or in reality/real live situation) depicting defilement/desecration/taking advantage sexually of young children especially in the context of poverty as we have it here. I loathe it with inexpressible passion. It is doing me as if I should be at the scene to break that man's head. Aaaaah !!! |
josh4ever: This is a clear case of mental illness (schizophrenia). He must have been subjected to a cavity search and in his warped mind, he was being implanted with a chip... He needs Yaba Left immediatelyMy brother, may God bless you abundantly ! By the way, are you perchance a doc ? Because, it takes special training, on-point intuition & in-depth experience to recognize the illness. I keep telling people that psychiatry illnesses abound plenty around us but it takes an informed person to know. Some cases on Nairaland quickly come to my mind : * The lady whose mother was nasty ( divisive & inciting the daughters against one another; cursing them etc ) * The guy-husband who spits during quarrel with spouse. Some weeks ago, I read as a small insert in one of the national-dailies of a young woman in Osun-State who took a dive off a small river-bank & the local police authorities, in the swiftness of their ignorance & occasional daftness (my apology & I wish I could find a milder expressive word) were very quick to go arrest & detain the husband. The pointer was also there in the small info - the woman delivered/put to bed about 1week prior to the completed Attempted-Suicide incident ( A classic case of Post-partum Psychosis ) What even baffles me more is the inability of some trained experts in picking some of these patients during clinical evaluation! Imagine, I mean here, both the psychiatrist & psychologist could not detect the illness. And the funny thing is that all the diagnostic criteria to make an assessment of Paranoid Schizophrenia are met in only 1 single interview granted to a Personality-Styled Journalist. Very bizarre delusion with associated complex, highly-intriguing, delusional-congruous visual hallucination. He feels better only when : * An aeroplane is passing over his head * When under shower Things they happen! I do believe, albeit how ridiculous & painful it sounds, that a lot of the inspirations & anointings which back a lot of our religious leaders' ministry are rooted purely in altered mental state. This guy needs an expert care of a shrink who knows his/her onions well. |
Oahray: em... *scratching head* I'm kinda too old for that o. I dnt mind younger sis sha.You truly must really be an amiable fellow |
Gudmornin sir ! Pls , can U post the VIN. I'm keenly interested Thank you |
afam4eva: That was my opinion not yours.Of course , it was your opinion . My intent was not to annoy you . |
DarryOsh: Why does afolayan think he has to appear in his movies,he didnt play his character well,he is betfection which is hollywood. Jenifa is beta than figurine;it was realistic and believable(dont forget it is comedy), figurine was not!I quite share your view especially as regard Afolayan not appearing in the movie , the beach house etc But then , Figurine is a nice movie on its own. & of course ,Jenifa may beat it in terms of reality & humor but there are other parameters where Figurine will excel . Overall , I will say each to its kind . |
afam4eva: Entertainment may mean different things to different people.Which then implies that you should have been more cautious in making an overbearing statement that Kelani'smovies are educating but less entertaining . |
Honestly, maybe because I appreciate wits, smartness, innovation/creativity & little bit of mischief blended in a personality, the personality of Sheila kinda appeal to me. May be I'm weird. She don pass the stage wey him big aunt will correct her not only with sudden but impulsive slap. I guess Sheila saw through her aunt & she sees resentment, poor understanding & perception that she's over-pampered & spoilt, which interestingly prompted a vicious hatred cycle between both. The Martha should easily know that murderous vengeance was at the centre of Sheila's act/plot & hence treat the matter with less tenacity. More so, why will she doubt the integrity of her fiance or doesn't she have any repose in him? I usually pray that God will cross my path with a woman that will be so good such that in the face of daunting evidence, I'll still know something is just askew & things may not be the way they seemed. Sheila is just in her youthful exuberant stage & will probably make the best family member in future. I can relate with her character very well. Kudos Serah & how are the family including your gifted hubby? |
yuzedo: Apart from your xanquatic and skoropirated GBAGAUNS, all your points were incisive and 100.99999% correct!Pardon me my lord! We quite know your standard of English-Language mastery is high, which may be tedious for people like us to meet. Plus you can't but make little (except, perhaps, the errors were more than negligible than my level of understanding could allow me see) typos, semantic & syntax errors when you are rushing to post an idea/a view especially when you are using inexpensive(I'm serious & not trying to be modest or sarcastic) phones like mine. I'll like to learn more under your revered but virtual tutelage. By the way, Master!, what are the meanings of those words above i.e * skoropirated * xanquatic |
Tusky44: It is good. That was why i attended House on the Rock back in the days. We enjoyed getting the ladies bend over for us after serviceComments like this instils the fear of God in me. |
DrugDoc: How many corrupt catholics or anglicans have been kicked out of the church for looting or maiming Africans? Is Maurice Iwu not a staunch catholic?........My brother, blessed art thou among the earth dwellers! This same Iwu, with his wife, built an ultra-modern cathedral in 2010/2011 said to have worthed 500 mil in Imo-State & donated it to the Catholics. On the day of dedication of the edifice, he mass-produced a local 'Ankara' fabric with picture showing him & his wife on it, which he distributed to the congregation that launched the church. Come see people, the priests & high-prelate officials that day. Na the chops we want talk about that we won't hang our neck in surprise? Yet, nobody talk sense to this guy. Rather, he was being 'gingered'. |
yuzedo: At list he didn't did dis once over twinta.Your sense of humour is excellent. You have a way of blending wits & academic proficiency into your pun. You must be very intelligent. But you know sha say you like pun** too much (or so I presumed) !!! Or am I wrong? @ TOPIC : Maybe Osaz shouldn't have twitted. But I can tell you that for most of us here, if we were to be in his position, we'll do worse. Apart from Kanu & most of the team members from 1998 down, who can boast of more dedication, commitment, results/outputs, resourcefulness, skills, adherence & compliance like this guy? In 2010, of all the unproductive 23 players we took to South-Africa, no be only 3 performed above-average viz: *Daniel Shittu *Same Osaze *Vincent Enyeama Of all the current players on the controversial list, who can we say we will place our bet on as per current form, experience, activeness? Which player better pass Osaz? That our un-patriotic skipper - Yobo, no be him lie fallow like a lazy pregnant dog, siddon dey look like Red-Bororo/Sokoto-Gudali before the Greeks slotted-in the ball beside him. Yet, he made the team. Even, if just for the fact that this guy has been spectacular & delivering result for Nigeria at National level since the days of 2004 AFCON coupled with his current form & experience, he should make the team. All over the world, country features old players just for their experience. Meanwhile, this guy is not even old. I could remember Italy bringing Christian Vieri to Korea/Japan 2002 & in same vein, Del Piero 2006. This act done to Osaze is not the way heroes are made & also it discourages patriotism & loyalty Maybe he shouldn't have vent his outburst of pent-up anger via a social-media network. But then, is it not order of the day all over the world? Whereby no bar is held against private matters & no definition exist any longer for confidentialities! Let's overlook his excesses more so that he was remorsed, humbled enough & didn't count himself too-big to tender his unreserved apology! I still don't know the criteria employed that qualified some of the players on that 'yeye' but left Osaze hanging! |
warrior101: The bible also say we should fill the earth and replenish it... So the main purpose of marriage is for procreationI'm indeed sorry to reply your post late. If you read well my post, you'd have noticed that I digressed a bit & my post was in response to an element in Kulyie's post. Meanwhile, I slightly differ to your opinion as regards the goal of Eve's creation. The utmost goal was companionship while others e.g procreation, intimacy are, at best, secondary. By the way, how does one dissociate sex from procreation? |
DJDOLA: .....school is to study life while church is 2 study heaven.....This part of your post got me cracked-up & reeling with serious laughter. NLders can kill with laughter. |
