Walahi, the 2TB is not pocket friendly. I'll just go for the 1TB. Will the 17k get it down here & is there any discount? Any discount for the Inspiron-14z? |
Is that the last price for the 1TB? How much will get it down to Uyo altogether? |
I don't buy this idea of a baseless norm or culture preventing people from saying the truth the way they see it. Perhaps that's why a blackman's world will perpetuate in doldrums. Come to think of it, if a whiteman dies, they simply tabulate his highs & lows, & then they wish him well in his journey through the land of Hades. Some people just started cursing Cyril83 for expressing his view. If you think Lam was a different Gov who made his mark, poke holes in Cyril83 argument rather than fighting for a dead man who was not different from the average selfish leaders that we have these days. Pa Adekunle Ajasin came back poorer to his old house with only his 504 Peugeot after serving the old Ondo-State. That's a serviceman. At least I may not have a lot on my personal dossier on Lam, but I do know most of the roads which you are citing he completed were done hastily, in 'mago-mago' style, towards the end of his tenure so as to con the populace to vote him in for 2nd-term. Does this portray him as a distinguished elderstateman? Likewise, the audacious backing he gave to the lavish spendthrifts he had as children does not paint him in good light. Fine, we can't hold him completely responsible for his children excesses (though some highly-principled folks might), but taking side with them was taking Public-Fund Mismanagement to another higher but worse level. Is it not his influence that his son rode on to be in the political-relevance now. You may argue it's not wrong but I can tell you that it is also not right & in sincerity, it kinda stinks (I can vividly remember my father strongly cowing all the Governing Council's member of my secondary school in relinquishing their UNANIMOUS decision to make me the Senior Prefect just because he was then a Vice-Principal.) My people!, little things count. I didn't feel too bad then may be because I was not a loud person & I naturally do not like attention. But my dad sure taught me there & then a great lesson about strength of human character & integrity. I keep saying that within the last 20 years in Oyo, Akala seemed to be the best they had in governance using the yardstick of development, capital project execution, salary payment, though he also had his issues. Please people, until we start criticizing our leader's popular actions both in their life & death, the majority of the populace will live their lot in penury & the gulf between the haves & have-nots will only widen. Don't kill Cyril83, I beg. |
How many of us can recollect in Basic Chemistry the Law of Matter which states that atoms/elements/matters tend to naturally maintain negative entropic state ( which can be likened to hedonistic/disorganized/immoral/unprincipled life ) ! Most of what the contributors have said are true but they are small pieces of the large picture. I have been racking my brain for agelong trying to understand the science behind love & faithfulness/infidelity. Infidelity, I came up with something but love seems undecipherable. A natural man(woman inclusive) is wild & given to seeking pleasures while also avoiding pains ( which even also forms the basis for some spiritualists who want to go to heaven & avoid the pain/torment of hell ) It is well known that one of the most pleasurable activities is sex. Hence, all men in a natural state will want to sample as much pleasures as possible which is why sex with 2 different people can never feel same, except we are deceiving ourselves. But that is in a NATURAL state. In order to maintain a state of orderliness (which is similar to a honourable, moral, just, principled life), which in Science World is called Positive Entropic State, a force has to be applied. This force comes in the garb of Moral Training, Societal Norms & Values, Parental & Family Influence, Religious Beliefs & Reins, Peer Influence, Uniqueness of Individual's Personality etc. The extent to which these factors rub on each individual accounts for the differences in the cheating/infidelity profile of all humans. I actually do not agree that women's cheating pattern is different from men's, as suggested by a contributor above. I have seen with jolting shocks, the impunity with which some women jump into different men's bed, and I can say it is not different from the pattern of an average man. It is just that an average woman can pretend & it is difficult to root their mind. |
Hope you are not responding because you perceived me as unserious? You may be wrong! I don't mind getting anything from .5TB-2TB so far the cost-benefit or cost-utility is higher. In fact, the bigger the capacity, the better. My PC was fixed the other time & that was why I didn't bother spending another 155k on the XPS 15z. Even at that, I'm still considering the Inspiron-14z Please, respond to my enquiries about the External HDD. |
I keep saying it that most of the info flying around are products of rumours & hearsays. If you are not careful or adept in sifting what passes into your head through your ears, you will be tutored by someone you know more than. They didn't even ask you what kind of behavioural abnormality she has & yet they have condemned her. What is even funny to me is that some of the perceived normal individuals are the very unstable abnormal ones. If she's stable, she has good judgement & she has got a heart plus the normal mutual love-dovey things, you no get problem at all. Especially, if she is certified ill but she's seeing a good doctor. Let me give you example of notable celebrities who are mentally challenged or, who at a time, were managed for behavioural illnesses : * Ellen DeGeneres * John Nash * Sherlock Holmes * Luther Vandross * Joan de Arc * Wacko Jacko To me, these fellas are more than human than the acclaimed "NORMAL" humans. Meanwhile, I'm not saying that they don't have their challenges, I'm only saying that we can not demote them denying them what they have a right to, thinking they are less human. |
Billyonaire: They are paid per trip. A haulage from PH to kano earns average of 400k. Am sure some people will venture it 3 times a month and earn 1.2millionI no sabi every & I stand to be corrected/taught, but I wonder the value of what they are hauling that a truck driver will be paid 400grand despite the fact that he's not the owner of the truck. Take for instance, an average truck hauls about 600 bags of cement which put the total value at 900k if we use 1,500 per bag. I'm just thinking how possible it is to pay the driver 400grand for only his driving service. Even the independent truck owners get paid around 250k. Like I said, I wish to be educated if I'm incorrect. |

Please, don't be annoyed. I won't be able to buy now. Like I stated earlier, I just placed order for some Audiophile buds, IEMs & a headphone. Once I have adequate cash, I will let you know. Thanks for your response & business tact. I wish you success & more prospects in your dealings. |
chrisemy01: Very senseless statementThis is how we start courting enmity. If he/she takes a swipe back at you, you'll cry foul when, in real sense, you started it. You were the one that showed poor grasp of knowledge/understanding (which of course is excusable). What he/she meant was that most people, when giving gifts, do not give something priceless, valuable or worthwhile. Rather, they look for something cheap, something dispensable or similar items of no use to them. Hence, you tend to have clutters of 'acclaimed' over-rated China 'bloated' plates/cutleries/kitchenette utensil sets constituting more than 80 - 90 % of the whole gifts. |
Niiade: I found both headphones and it would cost you 44,000.00 to get them to lagos. Would be waiting to hear from you Thank youYou meant 44k for each or for both. Can you be specific about each price? Please, be wary of fakes & clones! They are plenty out there. |
Niiade: i am so sorry for the late response, didnt notice the update on this thread. would you still like these itemsNo, I have sent someone already. But I won't mind you checking for this headphone : Original Audio Technica ATH M50 or ATH A55 |
Table Leg :Hmm !!!, Corper. Tread softly softly ooo. |
I just don't fathom it! Why a lot of people don't only lack diplomacy, but they in addition pack caustic tongue join. We can't share the same view on a controversial issues like this. But then, there are refined ways of contributing your opinion or view. Even if the OP was outright wrong, politeness&courtesy still demands not being derisive. I get pissed frequently seeing people passing very damaging remarks on people as if they are talking to robots with no psyche. Aha!!! Where are the psychologist in the house, especially the child specialist ? @ Idi-Amin(I guess your username/ID is even giving some people an eerie feeling), we can't say you are wrong or right. Here are the facts : A lot of what culture & norms imbibe on us are just baseless & without reason e.g not using your hand to touch rain, pregnant woman attaching/fastening pin to their cloth before going out in the day etc Hence this culture (of children not seeing their elderly's nudity) in some tribes, at least I know of Igbo, may be without reason. A point of digression, if not for Adam & Eve in the Biblical Adamite Creation story, I guess all of us will be naked by now. Hence, you can simply say clothing is a fallout of man's original transgression with no sexual tone to it. Which is why the name 'Pudenda' which is used for private part has its root word to mean 'shame' - which refers us back to the feeling Adam & Eve felt in the garden. There's no more to it than that. Any where the issues concerning nudity are cited, people usually get uncomfortable & most of what you get are negative feedbacks & comments. This is pure emotions & instintive feeling which may not have any justifiable reason. If I get you right, we are trying to weigh the effect/influence of this behaviour on your children. Are there any negative(or positive) on the children. NO! 1. There is what we call imprinting. Those children will naturally grow without even taking into cognizance that 'something' is unusual/funny/out of place/strange. A normal child is just going to accept it as normal thing. For the contributors who are of the opinion that the effect will be gender-based (no problem with male child but he stopped because of the female children), it is far from the truth. There is no marked difference between a boy-child & girl-child except for the physical trait & some trace cognitive functions. As a matter of fact, you can raise a girl to behave like a man & vice-versa. In fact, studies have shown that a parent is more likely to raise unusual curiosity in children when you are TOO OVERTLY conscious of your nudity. ( How many of the smartalecs in the house can testify to that remembering asking our young curious minds question on why mum & dad are locking themselves in?) But then, that is where it ends. I do know that in this setting, it is easier for the ugliness in an abusive/irresponsible/unstable parent to rear its head. Equally, since it is becoming a sort of rigmarole between you & your wife ( and I assume in this scenario, it should be easier for you to bend/adjust to her voice than for her to change), for the sake of mutual peace & love, you should try to adjust. Not necessarily because you are doing a bad thing, but because you want peace to reign. Hope I won't get insulted! |
mavinc4u: ok,can you keep quiet son ,Mama is talking now. let other people comment.older than ni older ko.please make una no dey make me laugh for this nairaland, nominated for best in nairaland. please next time son,try and be nominated for something better. please son, remember, mama said no comment again, don't derail the thread for people that wants to learn.A good son obeys the parent, what did i say son?.so seal your mouthAuntie?, talk of attitude & issues, you've packed plenty mehn !!! |

Flyboy Zee: ^^This song "ENDLESS LOVE" is by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross. This is a masterpiece especially on the 3rd verse where they both did a crescendo. But no song has ever bested for my side : * You decorated my life - Kenny Rogers * Love me over again - Don Williams * I'll do my crying in the rain - Don Williams |
sushieater: Gangnam Style - PsyGuess this track must be enjoying massive airplays especially in major cities radio stations e.g Lagos & Abuja. |
Odunharry: Here without u by 3doors downOne of my greatest love rocks/ballads |
onechance: I dont see anything wrong in a girl asking a guy out,i have been asked out,me and the girl are good friends. My brother (no slight intended), as your NL ID name suggested, that proposal na one chance ooo. LOL hilariously. |
We need to know how a rational & an average guy thinks. I guess one of the most determinants of the stability of a relationship dynamics is fidelity. And you can easily detect that here based on the responses of some guys who are saying yes. But!, excuse me folks, did you notice the condition attached to their affirmative response? They said if the lady is in good standing. How do you know the lady in a good standing? (Analogous to proverbial 'how to bell the cat') Don't get me wrong! These guys, for me, are real & they rock & nor am I saying it is wrong for ladies to make the move. But the ultimate move?, I'm not sure. First impression, they say, last very long. When a woman proposes, it naturally registers negatively on the mind of an average guy subconsciously no matter how free-minded or exposed the guy is (ladies don't let anyone deceives you or let's be deceiving ourselves). This approach also, kind of, put the guys on the defensive and they are, either consciously or otherwise, on the look-out for what is not there. This sets the relationship on a wrong footing ab initio. If one can get above these, then there shouldn't be issues but, trust me, issues that has to do with rooted complexes, instinctive dynamics & subconscious values like this one the OP raised are very difficult to play around. Mind you, many a guy still finds problem with ladies showing ordinary greenlight. Let alone the ultimate act of proposing. Hence to your question, yes but the lady should be wary of the consequences. ( Which could range from having a smooth-sailing relationship to being seen erroneously as a loose girl ) |
Mrs.Chima:We quite all accede to fact that all societies present with her share of 'the highs & the lows'. The point here is that the lady in question is a scholar or literate, and not an ordinary jane on the street. May be she is not a pure Caucasian as you hinted on the matter of immigration, is another kettle. But she's educated. The point everyone is raising is that most African scholars who emigrate, when they meet their educated white counterparts are not overtly/markedly impressed. As a matter of fact, some display ridiculous level of retained knowledge. This is what informed the intercourse on this thread. Some things count more than the others. As a learned person, apart from your chosen profession, you should have a measure of General Knowledge spanning Cultural Diversities, Animal & Plant World, Geography, Numerical World (Arithmetics & Simple Economic), Classic & World History including the Mythologies, Basic Human Systems & Functioning, Religion & Important World Personalities. But if you GROSSLY evaluate the overall values of the Whites, you discover that they have more knowledge/information on Models, Entertainments, Celebrities & gizmos etc. This sounds more vain but then, you may say it is our own view/world, and we should let them be. Happy Thursday! |
How much will it cost me to get these 4 headphones : * Blox M2C * Sennheiser MX880 * Sony (MDR) E557B * Yuin OK2 I'm in Naija(Akwa-Ibom) |
Goodmorning Kevin. I just saw your thread this morning. I need to buy some audiophile rated headphones & a scarce smartphone. Can you quote the prices that will bring the stuffs from there down to my place in Akwa-Ibom? I do have someone in Lagos who can collect the stuffs on my behalf. Smartphones: * Levono P700i * Levono S880 Headphones: * Blox M2C * Yuin OK2 * Sennheiser MX 880 * SuperLux HD 668B * Sony (MDR) E557B Tablet * Acer Iconia A511 * Acer Iconia A701 * Huawei MediaPad. Meanwhile, do you have an office one can visit here or someone person can see on your behalf? How is the money payment? seyiogundipe@yahoo.com |
drnoel: Men I sabi say geography is not my strongest so once in those kind of situation I don't like guessing so as not 2 make a fool of myself. I say plainly, pls could u tell me what country that is? Or pls where is that on the map?DrNoel, no be say I wan show myself. Eventhough I like challenges especially academic ones, I don't do it to impress people. But you know now!, when a young red-blooded in her mid-late 30s lady gives you a lead/cue about sparring together and it's not as if mockery is intended. She really wanted to play. I thought I knew. Meanwhile, try to check the river, you'll discover that 2 of the countries I mentioned were on the path of its course. By the way, she was a radical from RSA. mayorteeny: My chairman I see you. pDude committed an ecological fallacy by his lame attempt to label all graduates of nigerian institutions philistines. Even if me i no sabi book i know say your erudite self na near genius. Anyway he has admitted he is a JJC in the States. May i point out that your sagacious self is also guilty of that transgression?. The average american is far from being 'advanced' or being a 'scholar' in the true definition of the word.TJ Baba niyen! You wan be dey soap your guy? Which one be say I dey near genius? Koala sabi im place. Likewise the monkeys & the lemurs. That I share the ideology that an average American is advanced is not outright faulty. When you equate raw inputs to raw outputs, I mean matching perceived opportunities & resources with expected results, you'll hardly be faulted taking a stance of presuming that an average American is a scholar. I quite agree some can be highly .........(hmm, kapish!!!) How your side brother? Where Awo dey now? |
InvertedHammer: Well, an average American does not give a hoot about life outside USA. Not that they need to anyways. My brother, they should care ooo. A measure of pride is essential for a normal human being & whither is thy pride without knowledge & no shame for thine aknowledgia? May be I personally do take an exceptional joy & pride in knowledge. I remembered vividly an encounter I had with a notable female personality (a striking beauty & a lawyer). She introduced herself & capped it all that she's from the home of River Zambezi. I replied she must be from Zambia. She nodded in a 'hell, no way!' manner. I blurted out Malawi. She nodded in disagreement. I again, in madcow persistence, replied Rhodesia. She scowled! Then I said Republic of Congo. She started shaking head. I then in my hapless down-to-earth resignation with added shame, surrendered saying 'your humbled & shamed servant knowest not'. Nna!!!, I was shamed for real that day. I felt I let down myself, my family & my country. I had poor sleep. Why?, because I felt as an average human being who is defined by knowledge, I failed. May be I did over-react but there are some things we should know & if we don't know, we should not take pride in ignorance for not knowing. NB : Trust me, as soon as they left, I grabbed my Encarta. I discovered that I even try small because the said river passes through 4 countries before emptying its content into the Indian Ocean. |

U gay bro? don't lie
