I had concrete information about this your case in the past, the coco is that you should not put up the two simultaneously they will purposely Bleep the visitor visa application up for the PR to go on, I think because of the money involved

not in all cases, at least not in mine.

Good evening everyone, please I have dual intent application in progress, visitors Visa and spouse sponsorship application, I have done my biometric, medical passed, SA approval for my the spouse sponsorship application, for the visitors visa I just got a refusal letter today and the reason was baseless because I have everything addressed in the visitor visa application. My family ties, more than 20m in my account, properties documents. Travel history. Hope it’s not going to affect my family class application because, the stage I am right now in my PR application is background check. Anyone have experience this before and what is the success rate for my PR and what will likely happen? Share you thoughts please.

Hi, not to be scared, your PR application will be approved provided your BG check is fine, but when is what I can't say, I know folks stuck on BG check for over 6 months and no end in sight.

Now to address the dual intent, i think these VOs (offices/officers) don't have a base guidelines of approval on these type of things. As a matter of fact, I was in same category as you are, submitted TRV just 3 weeks after submitting Spousal (i never even collect AoR sef, talk more of spousal approval), first time my MP reached out to the visa office a month after submission, the reply was that my TRV will be rejected cus of dual intent, blah blah blah. i followed up with my MP when my processing time elapsed, as at when i submitted, i think it was 147 days from 9ja, the following week, i got the visit visa approved. As i type, eligibility for spousal hasn't not started according to 2 GCMS (with the latest received this month).

This begs the question, how exactly do they base the application and give a decision on dual intent? nobody knows. Just keep calm, hope for a speedy approval for your PR and pray for the best.

Around march we got a mail that my husband has passed eligibility to sponsor me and that my application would be forwarded to Accra

After then ..there has been no mail from ircc ..my husband decided to contact the house of rep in Canada to call ircc and they did and told me ircc said we have passed criminality and we should have more patience ....

So last week and my husband called them again and they said they have moved my application to Accra ... Please I don't know what this means cause I heard that once ur application is moved to Accra ..that means it's passport submission next but I haven't done my medicals yet .. can someone explain to me

Hi Hi...the wait ahead is not as much as the wait already done. That been said, since it has been stated in your Sponsor approval letter it was forwarded to Accra, all you gotta do is wait, Accra will work on your file when they are ready o. go and do your medicals even tho they haven't requested for it (be proactive pls) and send webform/mail everyday until they acknowledge it has been updated to your file (trust me, i did mine for 3 straight weeks without missing a day, on the 1st day of the 4th week i got a reply it was updated - showed in tracker and gckey), your own eligibility as PA hasn't started - this i am 1000000% sure of, so get medicals outta they way, so we know its left with security and eligibility. trust me, eligibility only take them approx. 11mins, so it can be completed within an hour (in a flash you will see your tracker go from not started-NS to completed).

sorry to be the bearer of this news but PPR is not in sight yet, say anything from September sha (we dey same boat - Jan 2024 submission here...lol)

Yes, it was rejected cus we were never married even tho refusal letter stated it was cus of financial blablabla...lol

I guess being married and having an evidence (legal proof) to show for it really turn things around this time...lol

As at the time I submitted the TRV, spousal was been submitted just 3 weeks prior, but no receipt of AoR nor SA approval.

When I received both documents (AoR & SA approval) and even got medicals done, i sent lotta webforms but never got an acknowledgement if it was received or even added to my file.

VV application approved (applicant has ongoing spousal sponsorship application)

Application submitted - Jan 29th 2024
Application approved - Jul 5th 2024

Sent mail twice to MP - first in Feb, received reply that processing timeline elapses by June 26th 2024, follow up mail sent June 26th. Never received a reply till this moment but approval came in early hours of today.

Applicant travel history - none, rejected Canada TRV 2023.

All still waiting will receive their good news.

No, you are not the only one, IRCC did a maintenance on their site around Tuesday and since then everyone has gotten an incomplete personal details section. I also have the same problem as well as about 4 non-Nigerians that I know. I've contacted their support as well as the other guys too. You can message the technical support too and hopefully they will fix it soon. Cheers

Last week Every section was completely filled and it has the green check. I just logged in few days ago and I figured it has changed status and some section has changed to pending. I filled it all over again but the PERSONAL DETAIL section showing pending and I have completed everything I need to fill. Am I the only one having this issue, is there anything I can do pls help. Can't say bt ircc have acceptable vaxs up on their websites. All vaxs taken in 9ja is acceptable by the way (i think we just have 3 - J&J, moderna and astrazenica). So far you have that vax card that shows fully vax (2 jabs with or without booster), you're good to go!

Once done, you proceed to strip yourself (phones, belt, keys, earplugs, jacket) to pass through the detector while you pass your carry on & backpack to the other side.

Track 1: MMIA (Leaving the trenches) - Woke up and freshened up, booked uber to the airport alongside loved ones. We arrived past 9am even though my flight was for 1.20pm, we heard that the earlier, the better as you will be more settled b4 u fly, so we followed advice. Got a trolley guy to push the load, paid him 1,500 at the entrance where all begi begi started. I paid 500 per head for loved ones to enter into the airport with me, which also totalled 1,500. I loaded my baggage on the conveyor at the entrance, ut rolled over to the other side of the entrance and was searched by NDLEA guys, nothing was found and so i was left to roll my trolley over to agric officers. My brother who has done 2 airport runs within the last 6 months knew who and where to sort. He saw the officer beckoning on us to get to the agric stand and asked me to see the man, i followed him like a baby bonding to his mom and after jokes made between us, i shook his hands with yet another batch of 1,500 again. And there goes me jumping agric to queue on ET baggage weight line.

I weighed my bags, 32kg and 23kg respectively and these weightwere tagged on each baggage. I also had to celo-wrap my bags at that stand for 3,000 (1,500 per bag - standard fee). I got payment advice from one of the guys doing the weighing. He basically asked for name, final destination, how many bags to be upgraded, airline I'm flying with. I scanned my passport, arrivecan paper and vax card with a lady at the ET desk and she asked that i do copies of my data page. To upgrade my bag, i went upstairs to make payment, i upgraded one bag from 23kg to 32kg at the rate of 28k (they only accept cash or card payments, not transfer). I was issued 2 receipt and my copy of POS reciept. I went back to the lady to give her the copy of my data page as she requested. Then on another line to tag carry on/hand luggage (make sure y'all do this. It is important). No need to tag your backpack or school bag. There i was told to weigh both my bags (23 & 32), unfortunately it totalled 56kg instead of 55kg, i had to remove 1pack of milo & sugar to make it 55.8kg, the lady wanted to ask me to reduce again, but i gave her a very stern look and she understood the assignment and let my people (bags) go onto the conveyor belt which happens to be the last time you'll see your load until YYZ.

Once u done all that, y'all can now take as many pix and videos as una like. Once done, i located ET boarding gate, here i was frisked again, carry on & backpack ransacked and one of my upgrade reciept was collected and ticket was authorized for flying (one part was torn for their use, while the other part will be given back to you). By 1pm, i boarded the plane and we left the TRENCHES by 2pm.

Track 2: AABIA (Addis Ababa Bole International Airport) - we landed just 5hrs after, though 9pm in Ethiopia cus they are 2hrs ahead 9ja, so technically we took off from 9ja by 4pm Addis time. We got down, and another queue this time, very long o. The airplane was way beautiful than MMIA, it seems 9ja is cursed ground, cus wtf, with all the money we have, we can't even build a standard international Airport. Was frisked again and searched thoroughly, including my carry on & backpack, then found my way around the boarding gates for the Americas (Canada to be precise). We were boarded onto the plane via zoning, i was in zone 2, so i was part of the 2nd set that went on the plane. Our layover of 2hrs was barely enough to get us all on the plane.

Again our journey began....

Track 3: DIAI (Dublin International Airport, Ireland) - We flew for 8hrs, and landed Dublin for refuel which was just about 1hr. Inflight entertainment and food was good. I didn't watch any movie, cus i had seen all the Hollywood movies to be seen except for HIDDEN FIGUEES, but i couldn't watch cus the earplugs given didn't have any bass, so the noise from the plane was too much interference, instead i focused on the flight 3D map and it was interesting to monitor our flight and know where we headed. For food, ET try o, abeg, they served us 4 times (rice, chicken/beef sauce, bread/bagel with spread, biscuits, water, drinks - wine or soft), being not much of a foodie, i only ate the rice at all times, cus small food laidis my belle don full. We were given coffee (with cream & sugar) and cakes, as we finished fueling at Dublin, on our 8hrs flight to Toron'o...lol

Track 4: YYZ (Toronto Pearson International Airport - Terminal 1) we landed by 9am instead of 8.10am bt no lele, we sha don land, my papa go talk say "welcome is better than sorry"...lol... na so people dey run o, to join immigration queue o. So first you join a very long queue, to register on the kiosk machine, no officer to say next, na here DIY (do it yourself) start o, you just look around for the next empty kiosk machine as we have about 20 of them or more sef, then you leave the queue and do self registration. Scan your passport, position to take picture, accept declaration and print, a white slip will come out of the machine. Move to another queue, where they will check the white slip and you may be selected for covid-19 random testing, i wasn't selected sha. So i moved to the CBSA queue, where you'll declare purpose of entry and all those shenanigans, finally you go hear the famous line "Welcome to CANADA". moved on to baggage claim and got my 23kg & 32kg. Then asked for connecting flight lounge, i got there and was told i had missed my flight by some few minutes. I was directed to AirCanada desk to help reschedule at no cost, i was put on the next available flight with wait time of over 3hrs. Well, i enjoyed free wifi and the wait flew by in no time. My big bags were e-tagged and loaded onto the conveyor belt so it can be passed to the airplane to carry it (P.S: my hand luggage wasn't weighed or stuffs bcus i didn't use a box, if u used a box for hand luggage, it will be weighed and if overweight or the dimension is not as it shld, then u may have to rearrange your bag or find a way out sha).

Track 5: YEG (Edmonton International Airport) - flight time from Toronto to Edmonton is 2hrs on paper bt 4hrs in reality cus Edmonton is 2hrs behind Toronto. So flight left from Toronto 2pm (Edmonton 12pm) to land by 4pm (also 4pm Edmonton time), which is correct but in reality, we flew for 4haaaarrrrsssss, mo ni Bleep shit, Canada yii ti tobi juu mhen (this Canada is too big). Na here all the geography for secondary cun dey useful, all those yeye time loss and gain, with those yeye latitude & longitude calculations became reality that day...lol.

I landed Edmonton and my host came to pick me up. The anxiety made me forget my backpack at the airport, i remembered when we were over 10mins drive away. We turned back o, i reach airport, i no see bag, i was scared shitleds, cus na there all documentations dey, most importantly COPR (gobe!). I asked around and a nice lady officer told me to come over to a storage room, there i saw my bag o. My mind just flashed back to the TRENCHES, say if there, that bag is a goner...lol. I retrieved my bag and thanked her and went on my way.

Track 6: Edmonton (the dream turned REALITY) - hmmmm, the breathe of fresh air. It's worth it ooo. Pls y'all should come over, it's worth all the wait and patience. I have done my SIN (social insurance number), gotten a mobile plan, opened a bank account. Will start applying soon. Wonder why i dropped my landing gist now? I am still jetlagged, my body clock is betraying me coupled with say light no dey go for here. It's 5.01am here and i have been awake typing this since 3.00am. People say it's cold, yes, -12°C, but then there is me who sleeps without a shirt or coverlet and the heater isn't turned on sef (e be like the heat wey do me for 9ja don fry my hard drive...lol)

Here goes my PPR story...i decided to do this in an album way cus this journey showed me shege.

Album title: Memoirs of a tayad Nigerian.

Track 1: The ambition - i have always known i won't stay here, after being let down by a friend who gave me wrong info about my HND being regarded as just 2 yrs diploma in 2017, i forgot about Canada express entry to face life head on. Man must sha work and chop as I wasn't getting younger.

Tracke 2: The beginning ft Nairaland - early 2019, i joined a whatsapp group discussing EE and i was interested in the japa thingy, that's where i got to know that being an HND holder, i qualified for 2 or more certificates evaluation, imagine the emotions i felt (anger, happiness, anxiety and the likes). I wanted to be so sure so i made nairaland my home, and my oh my! The plethora of info here is wilding, i kept on asking if what i learned about my HND was true and i was convinced it was. I was so angry at myself for not making research as at 2017 that this anger transitioned till my birthday in May 2019 and i think that was the worst birthday of my life cus i kept of regretting why i didn't do any research back then (guess why - 30th birthday was just about 3 years away, bt as an overthinker that I am, panic full body), coupled with the draw which eventually happened i think May 29th after a break of 4 weeks instead of the normal 2 weeks(this was the first of the 4 weeks ITA draw pattern). You shld know that as 30th approached with maxing out IELTS-exam, i could only attain 474 and the ITA on 29th of May was 470, so i must max out at least 3 components. And with the gist of IELTS (humbler of great men and women) i had read on this platform, omo ×100000! Fear grip me.

Track 3: WES ft Gateway polytechnic Igbesa, Yabatech, FedEx & covid-19 - i gathered money cus my job wasn't paying well, so i started the whole stuff in June 2019. I gave a lecturer to help me follow suit in my ND school (gateway poly) bt he became the devil and squandered my money while telling me lies. September 2019, i started Yabatech waka, and it was smooth kinda cus i knew a lady working in E&R who was my HND level junior back in 2012. She helped and i shook her hands accordingly. By January 2020, Yabatech has verified and the likes. See me, see trouble o, ND transcript never ready. Na so i carry myself, collect 1 day leave, enta ogun state, na there i see say den dey bobo mi after giving this lecturer over 40k. Well i took myself up and paid again and monitored it till it was sent. Then wahala promax cun shele, ND school no see verification, thought it was a joke. WES sent verification after 7 weeks, infact i was in E&R and also on call with WES agent when the 2nd mail eas sent, omo we no see nada. As i dey try calculate, covid-19 shele, i had to courier the verification from WES down to my school, and greased palms for it to be signed during the whole lockdown protocol bwtn Lagos and Ogun state. Went to collect it and sent it to WES. It got to WES June 5th 2020, report came out the following day. I dived into the pool with no life jacket same night o.

Track 4: IELTS ft British council × 15k remark - i practiced like my life depended on it as i didn't have money for another exam. I met some good folks here who gave me something to add. I wrote exam Feb 13th, 2020. I felt confident i wrote well, bt on the 27th, i got a shocker around 3am and saw L9 R9 S7.5 & W6.5...gbagaun! I couldn't sleep and i dey go work, Jesu, oko ijo oh! As i reach work, i resumed at BC office in Ikoyi, paid for remark and did plenty follow up mails. Remark came back changed W7.0. So when i dived into the pool, CRS was 471 baby! I was relived.

Track 5: the wait for ITA - i sha dey wait make draw start, by July 2020, na so i get NOI from Ontario o with NOC 1141 (other financial officers) bt as i be HND grad, i couldn't take it, coupled with i wasn't too sure of that NOC. So i bone am. Gegeun! Draws resumed bt it was done in a pattern of 4 weeks, omo! Na so panic set in, i had to rewrite another IELTS, just to max out bt alas! MOD photocopied my 1st result and made me stand still at 471. I missed the draw of September 30th 2020 due to tie breaking rule, still thinking it was gonna be 4 weeks before another draw. God surprised me with ITA on 14th October 2020. I jubilate like say Lionel Messi score goal (kneels down, kiss fingers and points to the sky).

Track 6: Submission ft. DZC-capital, CanPR app, First bank, Barter by flutterwave, Qlife, Police HQ for PCC and Camscanner - i gathered my docx, used 100% gift deed from momma, same day i invested the funds at DZC-CAPITAL, got all reference letters and just a day statement which showed transfer from my mum to me and to the investment house, took passport with camscanner. Paid only app fee with barter card as 9ja banks dey move mad and submitted Nov 26th 2020.

Interlude.... Now the wait truly began!

Track 7: The tormenting wait ft AVO, gcmsnotes, IRCC and my temper - i ordered first gcms notes by February 2021 after i had passed medicals and done my biometrics early January. Omo! gcmsnotes showed March ending and nothing was done. Well i no fret, another gcmsnotes by July 2021, still nothing done. I remember when i got the 2nd gcmsnotes, i was so angry that i worked tru the night and didn't sleep cus wtf! Why did AVO not touch a file for over 8 month. Very sick set of people. Na so i order another one by October 2021, that one decided to come January 2022.

Track 8: Ray of hope ft GOD & Family - i forgot ircc and started learning new stuffs, sanity came and i became better. I was looking forward to changing jobs and setting up my apartment to taste till when i get PPR which i was saying by 2nd half of 2022.

Track 9: New year, New resolution ft RROC-OTTAWA - Jan 14 2022, i started hearing stuffs that files were transferred from AVO to a special office called RROC-OTTAWA, and i tried calling bt didn't get tru till 17th, i was told my file is in this new office and a note called "support review" was left on my file dated 14th. Eligibility and Security not started still. I sha thanked God my file has been moved away from the evil ones.

P.S: i didn't join any post ITA groups for my sanity.

Track 10: ADRs - on Feb 8th, just few mins after calling IRCC and the agent said Eligibility and Security still not started, i got a mail less than an hour after. They needed proof of income from all work experience claimed, Schedule A and a new PCC. Meanwhile January 11th 2022, i done a new medical at IOM and it was passed by 15th. I did all needful by Feb 9th and submitted all ADRs by 10th.

Feb 17th 2022, by 5.03pm, i got a donotreply mail from IRCC, voila! PPR sitteth pretty inna d profile, ready for download.

It can only be GOD.

I will be landing April, surely i am coming to give y'all my landing gist.
