Look at them running from pillar to post to stop the trial, because they are beneficiaries of a corrupt judiciary. It was PDP that corrupted our judiciary, so they're not just beneficiaries alone. |

This man is just the biggest hypocrite in Nigeria's history. Same man that told us Atiku is a thief and a terrible person, same man that wanted to change our Constitution just so he could do a 3rd term in office, same man that allowed Sharia to spread in the North, hence creating a breeding ground for Boko Haram, now he has turned himself to the sanctimonious holier-than-thou judge with unquestionable integrity. Maxymilliano: Atiku showed up. He owned his decision not to debate to the absence of the incumbent.
He apologised.
Nigerians should face Buhari who didn’t show up and would never apologize. Invalid excuse! Buhari already made his position known through his agent that he won't be attending this debate. Atiku said he will attend, showed up, then disappeared without participating. So I think Atiku's case is worse than Buhari. Buhari said he won't attend and he didn't (no shocker here), but Atiku said he will attend and he did but ran away and didn't participate (shocker). Which is why people were not happy about it. So, Buhari wins again in integrity and transparency. |

South East does not need natural resources to survive, they only technological ingenuity which they are abundantly blessed with despite all the frustrations from the federation. Sweden has natural resources and Sweden is an EU country. Switzerland has integration treaties and agreements with the EU and in fact the EU is its largest trade partner, so why won't they prosper. Learn the history of Japan. They became rich because of the United States. |

TBrown77: See Mumu, you classify Northerrn Nigeria as a one entity forgetting that ie North Central, West and East is what made the North and Splittted the Southern Nigeria. Merge the Southern resources together and let me see if you can still pronounce North with more resources to the South. All in all, I want each region to have control of her resources.
quote author=MobilityExpress post=74846406] THEORETICALLY, Governor El-rufai is right. The North has the highest natural resources more than any other region and has the biggest land size.
Nigerian Regions by Natural Resources
South East ◆Abia: Gold, Lead/Zinc, Limestone, Oil/Gas & Salt ◆Anambra: Clay, Glass-Sand, Gypsium, Iron-ore, Lead/Zinc, Lignite, Limestone, Phosphate & Salt ◆Ebonyi: Gold, Lead/Zinc & Salt ◆Enugu: Coal, Lead/Zinc & Limestone ◆Imo: Gypsium, Lead/Zinc, Lignite, Limestone, Marcasite, Oil/Gas, Phosphate & Salt

As you can see, the North has the highest natural resources, followed by SouthSouth, SouthWest, and the South East has the least. So in theory, the North wins. In practicality, the SouthSouth wins because of its huge oil and gas deposits. Futuristically, the North wins because oil and gas will soon be obsolete. The only mumu here is you, because all of the south combined don't have as much resources as the North. The reason for splitting the southern regions is because they are the ones presently demanding for restructuring and inhabited by mutually incompatible tribes. So each southern zone can see what they have to sustain their restructuring. But I guess that was to big for you to understand. |
Politics › Re: El-rufai: North To Benefit Most From Restructuring by MobilityExpress: 1:28pm On Jan 17, 2019 |
safarigirl: the problem here is that you falsely assume that natural resources will mean progress.
What natural resources do nations like Singapore, China and Japan have that have catapulted them to the top of the society?
The most important resources for any nation are the human resources, intellectual minds, innovative minds and as long as the North continues to deny the majority of their population of education, the so called natural resources will remain in the ground because the humans don"t know how to use them.
It is producers of goods that are getting ahead in today's world, no be all these ones you dey yarn for here. After all, places like Niger and Chad have landmass and natural resources too, but wetin dem dey use am do? I didn't falsely assume natural resources means progress but the FACT is natural resources means progress. Do a little research and you will discover that those countries you listed (Singapore, China, Japan) are a goldmine of natural resources. Why do you think for thousands of years people have been killing themselves over land? Is it not because of the natural resources. Natural resources means wealth. Why do powerful countries keep poking their nose in Africa? Because it's super rich in natural resources. But the African countries that have very little or nothing of significance are abandoned, nobody cares about them. Check any country that is maybe a 1st world country or a country that's doing well that doesn't have natural resources, you will discover they have stability and progress by forming alliances, treaties and unions with their powerful neighbors or other powerful countries with natural resources. Without natural resources, you can't even have technology because it's from the natural resources you get the materials needed to produce technology. So what are you saying? Natural resources = wealth and prosperity! Now how you manage that wealth is up to you. Nigeria never had good management, that's our problem. This country is super rich if it's resources are fully tapped into. |

9jatriot: NNPC is very inefficient and has been abused over the years, but a man who enjoyed monopoly with inters at Onne before this administration opened the market for others to enter is not the man we can trust to sell it, not after how NITEL that was supposed to give MTN, Glo and the others a run for their money considering they already had locations nationwide. What we want Atiku to do instead is to withdraw all Oil wells from private citizens and make it jointed own by FG, State, LGA and Community in a ratio of (25%, 45%, 15% and 15%).
Petrobras is owned by the state of Brazil, and are not doing too badly. Exactly my point too. NNPC might be corrupt but at least it still belongs to Nigeria and Nigerians. But this is still better than Atiku selling NNPC and turning it into Atiku and Sons Ltd, while the masses continue to suffer. If Atiku is genuine and not a fraud, then he should withdraw all South South oil blocs owned by his fellow Northern Oligarchs and return the ownership to South South states. Imagine the fraud Atiku is trying to carry out. Northerners own most of the oil blocs in the Niger Delta, and then he wants to sell NNPC too to himself and his fellow northerners in disguise. |
