Politics › Re: Calabar rail:We Won’t Revisit Project, Senate Tells Buhari As FG Defends Amaechi by modath(f):
LadyExcellency:
Truth be told, the project is a laudable proposal and should be supported by all and sundry.
You killed it, buried it & given it a befitting "owanbe" with this here...

This here sums up my position!!!

We can't let "them" keep us down & out or use the welfare of the citizens to settle political scores!

The controversy generated by non inclusion of Lagos - Calabar rail line in the budget sterns from the initial blame game targeted at PDP Senators and by extension SS/SE regions for either not doing enough or were outrightly antagonistic to supporting it because of their hatred for Amaechi which invariably was never the truth.

Secondly, by absorbing APC Senators from Southwest of the same heat targeted at SS/SE Senators actually divided the entire South
I, in my personally capacity, never absolved anyone of blame, they are in cahoots, however political/caucus affiliation & sectional divide is what is esentially strangulating the inclusion...

where there is COHESION + WILL, getting a bypass to make one's WAY out of the thickest of forests will be like child's play.

while the Northern Oligarchy plotted the imbalance and calculated marginaliztion aimed at developing the North at the expense of the South by channeling the floating N56 billion meant for Lagos - Cal rail line to Kano - Lagos aimed at completing Northern route in the shortest possible time and consequently killing off Southern route by depriving it of needed funding.
Nothing was floating, if you recall, this budget was termed "budget of errors", why then are people only picking from the buffet table of bias what they will "allow" their primordial sentiments can construe as "errors" in this budget,

Why is it then difficult to "assume" or even look the other way & "agree" it was an afterthought, then "insist" the south can't be left out cold!

The northerners saw a gap, exploited it, drove another big wedge into it & took home the spoils of war!

Can't fault them for it, we claim to be bookish, they don't argue with us, they will employ cunny & street smarts to achieve their objectives!

Shebi our people watched while both chambers Appropriation comm heads were given to the northerners? Issokay!

As it relates to the quote you highlighted. I support PDP's stance on the controversy because Nigeria can't continue in Economy hibernation and without budget into mid second quarter of 2016. Let the President sign the budget and forward the said project immediately as a supplementary budget
You really believe we can find another "floating aimlessly" couple of billions to finance this? Our Legislathieves know exactly what they are doing!

They took from 4bn from Min of health vaccine budget & gave to CCB, changed infrastructures development fund to Keke Marwa constituency project fund!

unless APC knows what I don't know, which is, Buhari's lack of interest on the later hence I pitch my tent on APC stance.
Buhari's lack of interest?? Nah, not true.

Agreed he made the 5% speech which was totally uncalled for & not very charitable, this rail line benefits the south west as well & who would throw away an opportunity given on a platter of platinum to solidify his political base?

You too think am without any interference of preconceived notions!

Politics › Re: Calabar rail:We Won’t Revisit Project, Senate Tells Buhari As FG Defends Amaechi by modath(f):
The closed-door session where the resolution was taken, was clouded in heated arguments as some senators of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, insisted on capturing the Lagos-Calabar rail project in the budget, while those from The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stood firm that the President must assent the budget and later submit the project in a supplementary budget.

Vanguard gathered that the Senate President, BukolaSaraki, who presided over the one hour long session, upheld the latter due to overwhelming support for it.

Seen a viral screenshot of Jibrin's text message apologising to committee members for "forgetting to get back" to them about the content of the budget sent back to the executives...

4bn was slashed from Ministry of Health's budget & added to CCB's budget...

Funds for Vaccines for very sick & vulnerable people & to protect children from infant mortality was given to CCB... even unrepentant haters of Nigeria & good tidings will find it hard to defend this travesty.
Politics › Re: Fulani Herdsmen Kill Villagers In Taraba! by modath(f): 8:58pm On Apr 12, 2016
Kennydoc:
Why is it that people like mo.dath will never make a comment about this? All you APC supporters are shouting about the corruption perpetrated by Jonathan's government, but I ask you, is this not a worse form of corruption - keeping silent while the people you swore an oath to protect are being slaughtered like animals in their ancestral homeland?

Mo.dath and co, imagine that this or the Agatu incident happened in your home town and your close relatives were affected, would you still keep quiet? The government is boasting that Boko Haram has been eradicated, meanwhile Fulani militants have continued from where BH stopped, but nobody is saying anything. Is this fair?

The Bible implies that the soul of one person is worth more than the whole world in the scripture, "what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul". How come Buhari and the entire FG have refused to address this herdsmen issue?
I know they were there even in Jonathan's time, but quite frankly, their attacks have been multiplied now.

Why are the FG and many politicians keeping quiet? Why? Why are mo.dath, Omenka, NgeneUkwenu, Passingshot etc not saying anything about these killings?
Fulanimafia, do you really feel comfortable with what your kinsmen are doing? Mynd44 and mynd, are you both okay with all these?
What exactly am I suppose to say? Of all problems bedeviling this country, this is the most distressing..

I condemn with deep emotion, & with clarity ALL senseless & wanton taking of lives, destruction of properties & trampling on people's rights........ (check my profile, I'm sure posts will come up)

However I'm not going to say much on NL because I've known about these murderous bands even before the "birth" of NL, they only gained so much attention now that SM is the norm, They've always been this way...... Ghanians, Camerounians,in short most of WA!

This is a 2012 story!!!!

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/suspected-fulani-herdsmen-sack-villages-in-plateau/

& one truth we also need to face is that most people expressing outrage are not doing so because they are saddened or are sincerely pained, they know why they are doing it!!!

Is it not same people that will turn around to mock Omenka with Agatu massacre, Yoruba with Olu Falae's abduction & the Ibos with the defilling of innocent women?! No I won't be coerced into joining the purposeless baying.

These murderous cretins restrict their blood letting to the South & NC with few & far between attacks on the agrarian NE communities.

Rather than sustain agitation, soon as the dust settles on any recent attack, some will go back into default mode of mocking the victims!!! Wish arms could be easily procured by southerners, scores need to be settled!!

BTW, I didn't check the first page, once I see graphic accompanying a story about "killing", I can't bear to look.........

Just as they have the powers to "tweak" the budget, so does the constitution empowers the president to veto any bill!

At this juncture, all that is left is to count the days to 2019, this present NASS case is a forgone conclusion, Nigeria nor fit see any profit from this transaction, make loss nor too plenty na the only prayer.

@ Tonye Barcanista thank you your objective write up.

NASS has constitutional power to add and to remove items........ . The money is too close to what is needed for lagos-calabar rail to be by accident. I think the Calabar - lagos rail was already planned to be in the budget submitted to the NASS. But was mistakenly absent as item but was present in the total sum.
Jibrin & co knew there was no "floating" nothing, he & his bros in the senate only played a fast one since they know we won't even come together to fight as one voice..

There is no way Rotimi Amaechi will be defending that project before the Senate without full Buhari approval. Also if the project was not very important to the president, I dont see how the president will delay his assent to a budget because of an Item he doesnt care about. However for the initial omission, the presidency deserve some blame. But atleast they tried to remedy it.
Truth be told "Bubu Bungled Budget" cheesy , but we'd excuse it as beginner's error, Next one, we trust, due diligence would b done.... smiley

Sincerely, Buhari wasn't really interested in the said project perhaps because it wasn't in the North.
I was about to get on my soap box & fire some sly digs but the captioned below caught my eye & I sheathed my sword!!

We have to be united in this "fight"

This blame game is diversionary and we will not be distracted by the antics of enemies of the South and the country as a whole.
Jibrin & Goje didn't see anything wrong in unilaterally appropriating scarce resources for Keke Marwa purchases & inclusion of 30 states (not even federal) roads without widespread consultation...

I'm still asking won't stop cos everyone is "hiding their heads in the sand"; how did our southern unpatriotic & selfish NASS members allow both Upper & Lower Appropriation chairs from same "place"?? How?

Was it part of their deal with Saraki & Dogara?

Apart from their dignity, did they also pawn off their sense of responsibility & belonging too? SMH!!
