Responding to the letter of invitation to Sambisa forest sent to the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group by the information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the group demanded to hold a prr tour meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and other personalities billed for the forest tour as stated in the letter. The reply read in part..... We write to thank you and acknowledge your letter on the above subject, dated January 11, 2017 which we received by email transmission yesterday, January 12, 2017. We had an emergency meeting of our Movement to discuss your invitation to embark on a “guided tour” of the Nigerian Air Force Command (Yola) and Sambisa Forest with officials of the government. Our members unanimously agreed that the Movement is open to exploring the opportunity for a visit to the North-East theatre of war as presented in your invitation. However, before proceeding with further discussions on the proposed visit, we propose a pre-tour meeting to discuss pertinent issues that will help inform our decision to proceed. We believe that this prior meeting would help provide first-hand knowledge of, and answers to questions that our movement wishes to raise ahead of the guided visit. We propose that participants at the meeting be the National Security Adviser to the President and the other officials of government indicated in your letter. These are: 1. The Minister of Defence, 2. The Chief of Army Staff, and 3. The Chief of Air Forces. Furthermore, we wish to raise a matter critical to our proposed meeting. Only two days ago, the Federal Government owned News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) widely reported, through the mass media, that during a visit to the Army Headquarters by a certain group which was received by the Chief of Army Staff, our Movement was attacked for engaging in “social advocacy terrorism.” It is puzzling that the reported said visit happened less than forty-eight hours before our Movement received your letter asking us to travel in the company of the same Chief of Army Staff to Sambisa Forest. We demand therefore that ahead of the pre-tour meeting we have proposed herein, that the Chief of Army Staff retracts and apologizes for endorsing such slanderous attacks against our Movement #BringBackOurGirls and specifically at some of our leaders. Such a step would communicate that it is with goodwill that the Federal Government is asking us to entertain the visit proposed in your letter. For 990 days, our Movement has singularly advocated for the return of our Chibok daughters who were abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, on April 14, 2014 by Boko Haram during an insurgency that has raged in North-Eastern Nigeria for over eight years. For nearly three years, our movement has demonstrated the utmost decorum and civility by ensuring that our advocacy follows due process and upholds the core values that we developed early on in our campaign. We assure you that we shall remain on the path of our core values of Hope, Unity, Motivation, Affability, Nationalism, Integrity, Transparency, Empathy, Equity, Discipline, and Sacrifice. We are available to attend the pre-tour meeting we have proposed as soon as we receive a date from you. We look forward to receiving your reply at your earliest convenience to enable us adequately plan for our members that will attend the pre-tour meeting with you and your designated colleagues. https://www.thecable.ng/bbog-writes-lai-lists-condition-will-make-tour-sambisa

Aliyu Ahmed Kabir is a 2013 Geology and Mining graduate of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He also earned a certificate in Environmental Health from the College of Health Technology, Ningi, Bauchi State. The 28-year-old sells tea at a junction along Bebeji Road in Kafanchan, Kaduna State. He tells Daily Trust that he is satisfied with the profit he makes from the business. See excerpt of the interview with the dailytrust: Aliyu Ahmed Kabir: First of all, my father had been in this business for a very long time, so I learned the business from him. And looking at the current economic reality in Nigeria, I reminded myself that it was with this business that my father sponsored my education and he is still doing well, so why not start the business since I know how to do it very well and age is no longer on my father’s side. I am not the choosy type. In fact, I get surprised when I see people with only a diploma or NCE who are choosy in their search for jobs. So, since one must search and wait for a long time to get employment in Nigeria, since there is no automatic employment for graduates upon leaving school, I decided to start this business. Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has ordered the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to vacate its state command headquarters located along Afao Road with immediate effect or pay N27.5million to government coffers within 5days. The state government during the administration of Chief Segun Oni allocated the facility to the NSCDC in 2010 to ease the accommodation problems faced by the security agency and other federal government institutions. The complex was initially constructed by the Fayose during his first stint in office and was commissioned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo but was abandoned after Fayose was impeached from office in 2006. A source in the know quoted Fayose to have said “the need became necessary because the State may find it difficult to pay salaries of civil servants in 2017” despite just received N8.8 billion Paris Club refund. The governor was also alleged to have said that “the era of government providing accommodation for the security outfits in Ekiti is gone, stressing that he cannot be providing counterpart support for a Buhari-led Government agency as an opposition leader.” A source in NSCDC craved anonymity said: “During a visit by the Commandant of the Corps with the governor, the government had valued the facility at N27.5m and every effort to appeal to the Governor to tarry a while to get the Corps organised was rebuffed by Fayose. “Tension rose at the Command Headquarters as the NSCDC officers were infuriated that despite the N250m monthly security the governor collects and no logistic support whatsoever since 2014 when Mr Fayose was sworn-in, it was a rude shock that he could shut down the Command Headquarters within such a very short notice.” Speaking further, the source said: “As it stands, the officers of the Corps as law-abiding and highly disciplined public servants will not take laws into her hands as law enforcement officers, rather, we have commenced the process of contributing half of our salaries and will also solicit for funds to buy the place for our comfort. https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/fayose-shuts-down-nscdc-headquarters-in-ekiti.230553/ |

I've never ever heard recruitment advertisement from NHIS, so why is it different now...? From all indications that has been the norm for the agency. A section of the country has been doing it secretly... Now that another section wants to do it, all hell is let loose. |

Sometimes I wonder how these accidental discharges happen. It takes three steps for an ammunition to be fired. 1. Cocck your weapon 2. Remove Safety 3. Put your finger inside the trigger guard and pull the trigger. So how on earth can you do all these three things and still call it accident? |
Hmm... Lala sef, Seun sef, Mynd44 sef.... You always in a hurry to forward fake news to front page.... Don't you have means of confirmation for God's sake?

The two countries are reportedly affected by the new policy introduced by President Muhammadu Buhari, which sought to ban importation of vehicles through land boarders. This was revealed by Hausa service of Voice of America. According to the program, Benin, which sells about 25,000 units of vehicles a month, is now left with a paltry sale of about 2,000 units, a development that is already affecting their economy. Meanwhile, some car dealers in the North are expressing their opinionss that Lagos State is not a friendly state that will encourage importation due to fear of extortion by both Government and non governmental agencies.
