Good evening house, I operate a first bank account but am fed up with having to wait for hours (most times) on queues just to carry out a transaction. To add to that, their service delivery doesnt quite cut it in this age. So I've decided to open an account with either of the aforementioned banks. Wonder which is the more efficient one between the two. Please help a brother make an informed choice. I don't want to open an account with a bank that I might later regret, drawing from my FBN experiences. Lalasticlala pls help a brother in need. |
bishopjoe02:Really? Why are you like this? Go find out how much donations GEJ and, even Obama received during their respective reelection bids... Maybe only then will you realise that one needs all the financial assistance obtainable to make for an effective campaigns. It's a different ball game the moment you assume office though. It's normal to accept gifts, but to flaunt it all in a bid to avoid any future probing that may arise is lame and insincere. |

Welcome back, Mr president. Meanwhile, it's 3:37PM already, you need put your detractors to shame. |
Sappyman:You don't flush them out. Seeing as their agitations are well placed. Only it's a pity that most of them are in it for their own selfish interest than for the collective good. |
Good development. Anything for peace to reign. |
He did the honorable thing. |
Like seriously, why are you guys this much bent on tagging Lagos a "no man's land"? It costs nothing to acknowledge Lagos as a Yoruba land. Abi shey u don ever see land wey no get lord before? |
We should be careful not to hope for too much. Tribal warlords are only interested in this so they can continue their unwarranted attacks. What we need more than anything, especially in trying times as these, is a daring and well-drilled cabinet raring to hit the ground running from the get go. The economy is in a mess, there's a need to restore confidence and a sense of believe. |
Nigerians get bad mouth! |
Miscreants. Whose interest do they even serve? Who placed them in such capacity? Group of hungry men parading themselves as a Northern mouthpiece. |
Such a shame |
explorer250:You sound pained. Truth is, intolerance cuts across each and every tribe in Nigeria, only that it's more prevalent in some than others. I suppose that by "Northerners" you mean Hausa. If so, it's no game. Toe to toe, the average Hausa man is way too content to spoil for a fight out of sheer jealousy. Again, of the three major tribes in Nigeria, the Igbo can be said to be the least accommodating. I know this because I have had the opportunity of living among these tribes since long. Make no mistake, I'm friends with many Igbo folks, so this isn't driven by hatred for the tribe as I'm detribalised and apolitical in all honesty. I wish better for everyone. You need not drag the Yoruba into your debacle as they are an exalted race! Thank you. |
A welcome development. If effectively managed, this should translate in higher tax returns and consequently, increased government revenue. Were those in charge of Nigeria's revenue houses of utmost good faith, we could be raking in income somewhere in the region of 20-30% of total revenue from tax sources alone. |
lordtosan:You sound even more daft than you suppose they are. What t.wat of a detractor you are! GenbIoodykiller:You are blinded by your hatred for a man so much that you seem to forget every business, private or public, needs an enabling environment to thrive. Government policy, both legal and economic, influences the decisions of businesses in an economy. Had you the capacity to take on Passingshot, you would have realised that a president's sneeze alone is enough to have businesses folding up, much more his body language. I'll pass on you tho'. |
bilulu:Have you any brains at all?! TF! you act too retarded for a human being. |
Nice one, Mark. couldn't have put it any better. |
While growing up, I had friends from across divides (not that there ever was a divide then). We prided ourselves how much Nigerian languages one could speak and the places of worship been to, among others. Whoever does these so well is seen as a hero. I have on many occasions been to the mosque and Catholic churches despite being a protestant. As did my friends, then I could speak a little bit of Igbo, Yoruba, idoma, Hausa, Tiv, just to mention a few. Things were so good we never thought of ourselves as being different from each other. The typical mindset of innocent kids with good intentions. Being Army kids, our believe was that there was no greater good than patriotism, and that there was no greater sacrifice than one done for the good of the Nation. Fast-forward years after, the perception has changed, as has the reality. We've gone from being a loving nation to a hateful one, from generosity to greed and from selflessness to selfishness. How are my people travelling backwards. My friends and I had imagined better, but then we were just being kids, what did we know? Well, we know love and concern for one another. Well, I blame it in part on our parents and squarely on our leaders. Why? Reason: Tabula rasa is why I blame it on both parties. We were born with a blank mind, whatever habits or traits we grow to acquire must have been taught us by someone. We don't of our own making, grow to become good or evil. As the first point of civilization, the family, headed by the parents are responsible for interpreting the world to us... as such, our perception of the world is drawn from whatever it is they teach us. Our leaders' Greed, treacherousness and desire to accumulate wealth only is what has brought us to this pitiful state. Soldiers used to be gallant and patriotic until their well being and safety were considered secondary by the top ranking officers who feed fat on their allowances and treat them like some piece of shit. Officers used to be the vanguard until connection was required to get into the academy. Boko Haram weren't heard of until someone served them a fodder. Biafra wasn't a struggle until jungle justice was done a certain people. Abdullahi wouldn't be vindictive had he not been wronged. Today, the MASSOB, AFENIFERE, ACF and a host of other groups are springing up all claiming to be freedom fighters. Truth is, they are not any different from the government and are bent on preying on the innocence of the unsuspecting masses to fatten their bellies and bank accounts. Let's not allow these people to use our mouths to eat onions. They spread hate and lies and don't represent the desires and aspirations of the people they claim to speak for in any way. It doesn't cost a thing to love each other in love and embrace. Before you hate on somebody, first remember that whatever the reason you hate the person for, he could be doing so because he wasn't taught otherwise. Bola wouldn't know English if he were taught only Yoruba. We grow to become, no one is born good or bad. May we all find a reason to love today and see what difference it makes in our lives and nation. PS: This may seem haphazard cos I'm typing from a mobile and not a great writer. Thanks for reading the piece. |

Reputation they say, is gold. How fast things have since changed. Prior to the swearing in, my area and environs couldn't boast of an hour of power supply a day, heck, we barely even had light in weeks running. People complained so much so it forced a PHCN official to come in the open and admit that, "ever since the privatisation, they hadn't been supplied even little as hand gloves to mark improvements. How then were they to be efficient?" Three days into PMB's regime, same PHCN, same tools, only that we now have 15 hours of light on the minimum each day, three days on now.... what's different? Maybe someone is respectful (or fearful) of a certain someone! How's the light situation in your area? |
