PoliticsRe: In Buhari, The Spirit Of MKO Abiola May Find Rest- Leadership by MONITZ: 11:53pm On Apr 16, 2015
Those who ride on the back of a tiger always end up in the stomach. There abound examples of how the hausas treatthe yorubas with so much disdain, the case of M.K.O Abiola comes to mind easily, also the case of very senior military officers of yoruba extraction that were rounded-up for coup planning under General Abacha but at last it came to be known that they were removed so as to pave way for another northerner to take over from Abacha because the Oligarchs knew what was to befall Abacha. After the civil war,the military was restructured in such a way that coup planning and execution by soldiers of a particular extraction are difficult but the yorubas were sold a dummy and they all fell for it so much that the traditional rulers from the south west were all falling over themselves to get to Abuja and see the tape where Oladipo Diya was purportedly on his knees begging Major.Al Mustapha.

General Oladipo Diya was to be executed,he had been taken to an unknown destination to be wasted but for the cries of well meaning Nigerians he was later released. The northerners are always usingthe yorubasto balance the equation in Nigeria's game of power play.

A.P.C should learn to act like a good sportsman,it must not be their way all the time, you win some and lose some and they should stop acting sanctimoniously because their is no party in Nigeria that is not involved in rigging but when they are out-rigged,they scream blue murder.

PoliticsRe: Abubakar Leads Alison-madueke To Meet Jonathan by MONITZ: 10:58pm On Apr 16, 2015
'''On the peace achieved during and after the elections, the former Head of State said Nigerians should thank God; Jonathan for his statesmanship; and Buhari for harping on his supporters to tune down their celebration''

If dem lose na destruction go follow and if dem win na another round of destruction go follow also........

The Abokis are like a double edged sword, any way you handle it,it sure gonna inflict a cut if not properly handled. One would have thought the north would be peaceful after the power which they so much sought has returned to them but alas it is clear from Abdulsalam's statement that they were also prevailed upon not to cause destruction and they heeded.....backtrack to the elections of 2007 where nobody prevailed on them and nobody from the north came out to condemn the killings of innocent youth corpers whose only sin was serving their fathers' land in a region where violence could erupt at short notice.

It is also clear that that the northern elites want to continually keep the alamajiris in educational bondage so that they will not have a voice of their own and thus be able to remote control them to do their biddings.

These northerners act like they only have the monopoly of violence since it is ingrained in their religion or how can one explain the fact that if a southerner is seen with a dagger it becomes atrocious but when it's a northerner it becomes ''his religion permits him to go about with it''.

The geographical space called Nigeria is a fraud. These are just a few observations i deduced from the comment quoted above,I have nothing against the change we just witnessed in the just concluded elections because like they say ''if it is broken then there is need for a replacement' and that was what most Nigerians did in exercising their franchise........VOX POPULI VOX DEI.

PoliticsRe: Northern Leaders Conspired To Sabotage Jonathan – Umeh by MONITZ: 1:52pm On Apr 15, 2015
He has said nothing but the truth, unfortunately Oga Jona made the work much easier for them by surrounding himself with sycophants, political liabilities, those who had zero political values and also those who were just with him to line their pockets. The chips are down and now he is beginning to see everyone as they really are.It is even still ok now because by the time he leaves office finally he would have none of these hangers-on around him anymore,as they will quickly move over to where things are happening. The lesson to be learnt from this is that power is ephemeral,so do what needs to be done no matter whose ox is gored and posterity would be fair to you.

Haba!,that was a bit too harsh or you do not think calling someone barren was not the right to say no matter how offended are, though she might have been too officious for everyone's liking.

one mistake we make is that we don't learn from the past......1999,2003,2007,2011.......i am not a fan of buhari, but i know one thing and i stand to be quoted.......if he doesn't perform and Nigerians decided they cant continue with his regime which i doubt......because there is a reason fr him to be selected amongst all other candidates from the north........they would say that it you cannot perform wonders within 4 years in office.....and if we decide to vote him out which to the best of my knowledge is impossible, the north with their majority would use the strength of their "numbers" to keep him in office......but i don't want to be a dooms day prophet..... we are watching from the sidelines..... undecided
Like they would say ''Ur head dey dere'',the change they clamored for is what they now have but let nobody start yearning for those good old days under Jonathan when things get worse,we have made our choice and so we must live with it for the next 8 years because i doubt if there is anything we can do if GMB does not perform in the next four years.Do not be deceived that our votes counted in enthroning GMB as president as some people were behind the scene pulling the strings to make it a success,i guess the masses and these people were on the same page on this but i know it will not always be so as it would be back to business as usual.

Has anybody ever given it a thought as to why the majority of Nigerians, the Northern oligarchs/elites and their southern accomplices were on the same page of enthroning GMB as president,if you have fine but if u have not and u are still trying to figure it out then all i can say is that keep guessing till the answers begin to stare u in the face in a few month's time.

Wow, few years to come Shekau will be a blessing in disguise to some folks.

The same OBJ that served 8 years without nothing to show and was aiming 3rd term lobbying the legislators with billions or the same OBJ that ceded bakassi to Cameroon, or the same OBJ that used Operation feed the nation to scam Nigerians and turn it to his private farm?

What a country
1 million likes for you........this comment of yours shows that you are one those few elements who still reason with their brains unlike majority that exhibit the band wagon effect, they do not reason and research on their own but are quick to latch onto any political statement that is trending without verifying the authenticity of such and the nature of the person making such comments.Nigerians have very short memories, the very moment a politician decamps to the A.P.C,he automatically becomes a ''progressive''not minding the fact that all politicians are the same and belong to either side of the same coin.

The same O.B.J that wanted a third term through the back door is now a messiah to Nigerians, when he was in power he did not tolerate anybody criticizing his government and nobody dared to do one-tenth of the rubbish he has done to JONA simply because the president is a complete gentle man, this same sanctimonious attitude was the reason ABACHA jailed him.

PoliticsRe: Buhari And Other APC Leaders Meet IBB In His Hilltop Residence In Minna by MONITZ: 6:07pm On Jan 19, 2015
The earlier Nigerians realize that these politicians are two sides of the same coin, the better it would be for us......
Those that wreaked havoc on our economy and could not account for monies entrusted to them when they were leaders are now beautiful brides being courted by the A.P.C.
We have strange bed-fellows belonging to the same party{A.P.C} vis a viz;the corrupt, those with no clear-cut political ideologies, those bereft of political ideas a.k.a.{AGIP} all with a common goal of wrestling power from the P.D.P.
What will happen when they have that power which they desperately seek?Your guess is as good as mine;in-fightings and a return to status-quo.
I am neither for G.M.B nor J.E.G,so be wise in the manner in which you go about your support for any candidate because these aspirants do not even know you exist,so if you die in the electioneering process,it is a loss to your family, they have their families cocooned outside the country and well catered for.
The ultimate power lies with the electorate who should exercise the right to choose their leader in a non-violent manner as the D-day approaches.

He, however, said if Imo State Governor, Rochas
Okorocha, had won the APC primary, they would
still have supported him because he was born
and brought up in the North and has shown
interest in the development of Nigeria and the
region in particular.

Did anyone notice the speech made by the chairman of ACF was all about the north's interest, northerners are all about themselves, the earlier we realize this the better.
One certain thing is that 'Nigeria might never remain the same again' lets assume that Uncle JONA loses next year's election which i doubt anyway and GMB takes over, the mainstay of Nigeria's economy which is crude oil will not be available as the militants will frustrate exploration activities.

The choice has always been btw Amaechi or Fashola. In terms of votes, Fashola wud av garnered more votes. But this campaign needs a rugged man like Amaechi to fire frm all cylinders. Tinubu, Fashola & Osho baba shud always b on the campaign train though to assure the SW that they will not b left out in the scheme of things if APC win.
Its a good news for a stronger combo to match the incumbent rascal for rascal, money for money, no more perceived islamisation agenda.
'
Do you mean a state governor who depends on the centre for stipends would be able to match a sitting Nigerian president who has control over the centre and the entire resouces 'dollar for dollar'.
Do you know that money distributed to states every month inclusive of local governments is actually less than 50 percent of the the total shared while the centre keeps the balance.
Do you know that a Nigerian president is even more powerful than the almighty American president if he decides to use his powers because there are no checks and balances like they have in the U.S.
A sitting Nigerian president will always complete his constitutionally allowed tenure, there will only be a problem if he decides to alter the constitution to his advantage because as you and i know Nigeria is not Cameroon and neither is it Zimbabwe.
In a worst case scenario if there is a stalemate in the election, the case would go to the Supreme court and you know what will happen there because you know 'he who pays the piper dictates the tune'.

You know you are not funny,so you mean a state governor that depends on Aso rock to hand out stipends at the end of the month would be able to match a man who has control of the federal resources, money for money and do you know quite well that the amount of stipend the centre gives out to the component units inclusive of the local government every month is actually less than 50 percent of the amount shared every month while it keeps the balance to itself, they have all the security apparatuses to use.Mr man wake up from your slumber ok.Also it would take a miracle for JONA to lose this election because a sitting Nigerian president would always complete his constitutionally allowed tenure and is even more powerful than the almighty American president because he has so many excesses that cannot be controlled if he decides to use all his powers.
The worst case scenario is that there would be a stalemate in the election and then the case would go to the Supreme court and you know what will happen there, you guess is as good as mine.

Who told this guy that Gershom Bassey is unknown ? grin . . . . As a matter of fact, it was highly rumored that he was the Governor in waiting after Liyel Imoke . . . . .

Gershom has always being a political heavyweight in Cross River State, though at the background . . . . .
Do not mind the Op,he wrote on a topic,he knew nothing about. For your information Mr.Op,this guy is not a neophyte in the politics of Cross River state. He has been active albeit from behind the scene from the time of Donald Duke,it was even rumored that the triumvirate of this guy,Messers.Liyel Imoke and Donald Duke had a pact on who should be the governor among the 3 of them at any point in time so as to prevent the rancour that normally arises when it is time for politicians to honour an earlier agreement and to a very large extent they have been very mature in keeping to the agreement but the reason why he has opted to go to the Senate instead of contesting the P.D.P governorship primaries is what i know not.It would have been his turn to become the governor when the tenure of the incumbent expires. So get your facts right before writing on topics you know little about.

Shot up kid, without OBJ's achievements u wunt have mobile phones today to type dis rubbish!
Nigerians like you who continue to list GSM as an achievement under O.B.J are very funny,DO you know G.S.M was a new innovation then and there was no way we would not have been involved irrespective who the president was,I think the idea of Nigerians having G.S.M handsets was muted as far back as when ABACHA was the president but it was later dropped for security reasons.
Also did you hear that the C.E.O of a certain telecommunications giant in South Africa was dropped because of a faulty business judgement. The C.E.O was told to bid for one of the G.S.M licenses in Nigeria then, his response was that Nigeria was not ripe for such a 'revolution' in the telecommunication sector.
M.T.N also of South Africa on their part came and did what was supposed to be done and got one of the licenses. With the kind of profit M.T.N made during the tax break they were able to go back to South Africa and give the other telecommunications giant that had dominated them for some time a run for their money. They did not believe so much profit could come from investing in Nigeria hence the C.E.O had to be dropped.
This goes to tell you that it was just a matter of time for the G.S.M revolution to get to us even if it did not happen under O.B.J.
So let us stop being sentimental,O.B.J did virtually nothing when he was the president,so why is he now complaining,Oga JONA is only following the footstep of his predecessor.

segzybam: Truth remains whatever is going down in ukraine is down to the actions of the americans. How? When the soviet union fell it was agreed that Nato which is an american and western military alliance will not admit former soviet states into Nato or expand towards russia. But america and its allies did the exact opposite. They started admiting former soviet states into Nato bulgaria, romania, latvia, Lithuania, estonia, slovenia, slovakia. By doing this america was delibrately trying to encircle russia with the Nato alliance boxing it into a corner. Ukraine is the next target of america and its allies and this is a country russia shares its western borders with russia doesn't want this. The US also wants to place a missile defence shield in ukraine trying to nullify russia in case russia launches any missile they will be intercepted. Russia has made its feelings known concerning all this but US no wan hear. To add insult to injury US sponsored the topling of viktor yanukovych a ukrainian president that was loyal to russia. Russia reacted bu seizing crimea and trying to destabilize ukraine in order for it not to join the EU thus joining the Nato alliance. Russia want ukraine to be a buffer country between it and Nato I.e america and its allies. But is that too much to ask? That america not expand its military alliance to russian doorstep? If america wants peace for ukraine it should stop meddling in it, stop its agenda to bring it into the Nato military alliance and russia will back down. SIMPLE! But america no go hear word.
A Very concise analysis of yours for those who do not know what is really going on and for those who know but still come online to post balderdash.
