In fact, I cannever beat my child, no matter the reason. In the end, it changes nothing. The child either starts detesting you, fears you, or become too docile, submissive and conformist, or even begin to mirror one's personality rather to the extreme, as opposed to creating himself. He might end up over-identifying with my person, my subjective ideas of right and wrong, and might even adopt my value system to an undesirable degree. I don't plan to mould my child in my own image or condition him to behave in the manner I approve, so the possibilities I've listed above are, for me, undesirable.
