Riders: The more the merrier, ... RIDA is too expensive.

Drivers: We are the sacrificial lambs under the guise of capitalism.

App Promoters: sow sparingly and reap bountifully.

Last, last everybody go chop breakfast.

While drivers are getting killed/robbed weekly because of drivers score. Bolt don go buy Mazda car company. Yet they’ve stubbornly refused to make life easy for their drivers. I honestly can’t wait for this company to get banned from Nigeria.
If uber and bolt were to leave this country, then the remaining ehailing apps will show their true colours. We live in a dog eat dog world, everybody is in the game to exploit maximally.

This hustle just have some negative bad vibes. How can you drive 16 mins to PU, called and the rider was just rejecting the call. Then you sent a txt message and the person cancelled. They don't even care that you used fuel to get to their PU location.

Femi Martins(08168316605) of Spring Garden Estate( off orchid) God will punish you. You will find disappointment from where you hope to gain favour.
Idiot.
This your post was laced with so much anger I empathise with your pain, it is a reality a lot of drivers experience on this hustle... in a way it is the Femi Martins of this world that may accelerate you towards your plan B!
Please on the crazy lagos roads you must keep your feelings in check, I believe your reaction is a build up from other negative incidents with other riders and the present realities of the hustle..
I may be wrong thou... if you are feeling extreme pressure, 1 week break will surely do you a whole lot of good.

For newbies and even the experienced

Avoid working odd hours. Around (4am-5am last week) Two cars were hijacked at gun point around Jakande estate,Isolo. A camry muscle and another corrolla. The corrolla has been found by police according to the victim who shared the WhatsApp audio.

Ignore any stupid Bolt driver score , if you sense
the trip is not safe especially with 2 male riders at odd hours, cancel or ignore the damn order.

stay safe,if you don't work on Bolt /Uber and no cash in your pocket ,but your life and car is safe. It's a good deal if you ask me ..
Thanks for the info.

I never believe Bolt will be so stubborn not to reduce their 25% commission. Immediately indrives and d rest came in, bolt would have reduced commission from 25% to 10 or 15% and stop this there bonus here and there.
I do not lament over any ehailing app. When any ehailing app do not meet my desired profit target, I simply switch.
I have been using bolt solely for destination trips, when I want to go back home, simply out of necessity.
Even with the 25% commission, they still threaten to block my account for low activity... as of now bolt app is simply gathering cobwebs.

Regardless of whether membership is voluntary or compulsory, fact remain these apps can’t be allowed to run just as they like. There must be checks and balances just like we have in saner climes. It is only in Nigeria you have bolt/Uber and other useless apps lording over their drivers. Anyways this is about to change.

The benefits that comes with having a union cannot be overemphasized. NURTW drivers are known nationwide because of a strong union. You can’t mess with them. In the coming weeks/months bolt/Uber and other petty apps will be forced to come down from their oga at the top position and face reality. 💯
Freedom of association is an inalienable right, as long as it is voluntary, no problem. The arm twisting model of NURTW may eventually come to play.
What is the point of a strong NURTW with all the dilapidated buses is that the kind of buses that obtains in saner climes. Oh I see strong union that allows drivers to break traffic laws and get away with it. Driving against traffic with no regards to pedestrians and even the safety of their passengers because they have a strong union.
Interplay of economic forces should be what should always count, I am a firm believer in a laissez-faire economic system.
When Bolt downgraded the year of car that can be registered it was in response to the fact that investors were not bringing in toks or naija 2003 cars on the platform, uber did not want to downgrade further but simply sought for institutional investors to meet the gap.
Unionism is not needed in a gig economy.
Relearn, Retool, Reskill yourself to take advantage of the gig economy ehailing is just a fraction of the over $500 billion industry.
More economic players that can rival uber, bolt, indrive and others is what is needed.
Competition is the best guarantor of drivers welfare not some nebulous union.
We dont need another MC-Oluomo of ehailing.

I think this is a huge game changer for everyone in the e/hailing sector. Bolt & Uber will sit up by force.
As long as membership is voluntary, I am not bothered. Set up alternative apps to compete with uber, bolt and indrive they failed woefully but incompetent economic agents will always seek government favour or backing. They now intend to reap where they did not sow.

You dey find 150k a month job, and you made 199k a week on e-hailing? Maybe I'm missing something
1. health is wealth, their is no positive correlation between milage and your health. I wish ehailing companies would tell us the occupational health hazards concerning our jobs, but everything is shrouded in secrecy.

2. Ehailing earnings can be quite inconsistent... remember your experience in trying to fix your car from all the troubleshooting bringing down your evaporator, to finally finding the fault...

3. Peace of mind... ever since my car broke down at ipaja and had to to leave the car overnight my confidence level of driving the car at night has taking a dip.

4. I miss my weekends

Na so I dey Mobil circle mall yesterday from around 3pm to around 7:30/8. I bought eventually.

Terrible country!
About 2 weeks ago, got into that filling station after 9pm they stopped selling, had to do night vigil... my stress level did not keep the mosquitoes from doing their job...finally got fuel at about 6am. When they were filling my tank the supervisor who just arrived told all the fuel attendants to stop dispensing luckily l was able to get N5k worth of fuel. I avoid black market fuel.

I for like reply this, but right now? I'm drain. I went to Bovas around 6:30 am. Queue till 1 pm and end up not getting fuel. I have to go get 240 at Ogba and Ikorodu road is something else like this. Tired!
You are drain, I was devastated. Yesterday I queued for over 5 hours at NNpc Ejigbo, they suddenly stopped selling ported over to the Total filling station, was happy making it inside their premises only for them to also stop selling, total man hour lost to non productive activity 8 hours plus... drove home without buying any fuel. I am tired of buying fuel at N250/N300, no economic justification given the current fares on ehailing apps.

Please I've been meaning to ask this. When I got my car, the coolant was a green liquid then when I got my AC fixed they had the coolant poured out. Ever since that time I've been using water, that's over months ago. I want to ask, what was the green liquid for? Now that I'm using water, no issues. But I'd love to know the difference
Stop using water, switch to total cooltech coolant that is what I am using for my car

Good morning guys. An intending partner is asking for my opinion between Corolla 06 and Civic 06. From what I heard, Corolla is more durable compared to Civic, but I’m not sure about fuel economy and cost of parts. Please I’ll appreciate if you guys can help me with the best option.

Note: partner wants to go for direct Belgium
Stick to corrolla 06, and thank me later.

Once FG remove subsidy can we say goodbye to ehailing ?
Nope...
But you will see more abused corollas available for sale on jiji.com.
Ride sharing by passengers may finally become more mainstream.
Moove will be moved... to where I don't know.
Institutional investors may pull in to fill the gap as private investors bailout.
Final nail on Tokunbo HP deals.
Weekly rental will jump to 45k per week
drivers on rental may need to check in for psychiatric evaluation.

Rida nah for drivers wey dey very greedy. Drivers wey no wan share their money with any app coy. It's the only app that reflects your true earnings 100%. What you earn is the real cash you get.

No commission

No VAT

No Inspection fee

No.Card trip

No Discount

No Booking fee

No Cancellation charges

No refund fee

100% real cash on rida
Can you run your own personal business adopting Rida business model?
Rida business model of zero Commission is not sustainable in the long run.
How is Rida able to pay the statutory operating license for ehailing companies to the Lagos state government ?
Indrive has even increased their Commission to deal with present realities, weak Naira, cost of doing business in Nigeria etc.

I stopped using the app, if you can get both indrive and Rida the better for you.

Only use bolt when you need a trip home.
That 25% is massive.
If you are able to get the daily bolt bonuses then the 25% commission is not such a big deal The problem for me is that chasing such bonuses feels at times like playing bet9ja...and you know what they say you can never beat the bookmakers.

Pure truth, just that when me, BAZOO1 and others were shouting and warning upcoming investors they thought we don't want them to enjoy what others are enjoying.
Buying car above 2 million to invest in Uber and be collecting small small money with different types of headaches no work, unless u intend to drive it yourself.
Maybe you should consult moove to find out their secrets. Those guys are dropping brand new cars costing over N6m without blinking..

The bolded part has always been my dreaded fear, reason why I have been putting all the returns I get to make sure the car stays in good condition pending the agreement duration, cuz i know if the car is in good condition, there will be no room for default...

Praying I go through this without mental and physical stress cuz its getting unbearable for me TBH...
I truly sympathize with your predicament. I would advice you to be extremely careful with your partner. A partner that does not respect signed agreement can become quite mischievous. The car I am using was via an hp completed this year but my partner was a perfect gentleman, understood what an HP agreement is all about. Please as long as you did not sign a PDAPC agreement you have nothing to fear.
