Jamie90:Call Mosbus 0802 694 1215. Thank me later. |
Eazilyfe:Bro be grateful for his honesty, you met a gear master with a good conscience! |
Eazilyfe:I am also in the process of finding a final and lasting solution to my gear problem. One gear master charged me 160k and I will pick up my car in 4 days, that he will need to drop my gear from the engine. I will rather buy a toks gear, than leave my car engine in the hand of a gear master that I have never had any history of dealing with. A new gear master I just met said N20k, to service filter and valve body, and he will only accept payment after the problem his resolved. May God guide us to good technicians. |
Eazilyfe:You are spot on. I remembered taking my car to my local Kazeem, because I noticed a coolant leaking to the floor, one of the advantages of using coolant instead of water, he did the necessary checks and said no leaks... I had to put the issue to Google Ai gave 3 to 4 likely reasons, one was failing water pump, he was adamant, I insisted he remove the water pump low and behold we saw drops of coolant, we got a new water pump and no problem. About 6 months later, I had packed my car at mobil filling station, wanted to buy engine oil, walking back to my car I noticed coolant on the floor, drove to my mechanic, he did all the checks hoses, radiator, water pump and he said no leak spotted. I will not drive the car out, get me a new water pump, a new water pump was installed and just when I was about to drive out, he said oga I see a leakage, a hose underneath the engine he fixed it. I was like you did all the hose checks, why did you miss it. Our local mechanics are one of the reasons why ehailing has become increasingly challenging. So when drivers post great monthly earnings consistently, they should please and please add the name of their mechanics. |
Shimmaa:... maybe somebody hacked his account. 😀 The lamentations of car owners tells us the state of ehailing. If car owners are now wailing, what can we say about drivers on weekly remittances. |
Pearl1910:As they say the devil is in the details. People are now more concerned about ensuring a roof on their head. Cheaper transport alternatives now becomes a priority. https://nairametrics.com/2026/02/23/when-rent-eats-the-economy-lagos-and-the-macroeconomic-cost-of-unaffordable-housing/ |
1. I never wished to earn the title of oldest tenant, with rent increases the 3 tenants I met in the apartment have left, more tenants are in the process of leaving this year. My landlord had told me to prepare next year for a substantial increase (unlike previous rent hikes) . How do we cope with falling prices on uber fares... 2. The gospel truth is that app companies are only interested in their commissions, for them their is nothing like a bad commission, for us pilots, consistent bad fares is a slow poison that would eventually destroy the car we use and also our health. 3. I was driving a foreigner just last week, the first thing she said was to praise my ac system. She was seated at the back seat. In her words this is the first uber car she had entered with a functional ac. So I asked her how long she had been in Nigeria she said a week.. I wanted to engage her about the challenges ehailinge drivers are facing, but as a foreigner I felt no point. Before we got to her droo off point she pleaded for me to reduce the ac. Comfort comes at a price, but it seems the app companies wants us to provide some form of subsidies to passengers. 3. I wanted to join the gang I would not take any rubbish price from 10pm to 2am, at ICM waiting for a reasonable price, .l finally had to swallow my pride and took an order from obafem Awolowo to okota on indrive for N6100. The first thing the passenger asked was to put on A/C, with such a cool night breeze. How we drivers maintain our mental health is a miracle. The trip was not even Okota, she was actually going to Ago palace for N6.1k. Night driving should actually come with higher fares because of all the risks involved. 4. I sometimes tell my passengers if you want to enjoy maximum comfort try and order us on bolt instead of basic. Car maintenance is not cheap. 5. In this Ehailing biz, the Apex predators are the app companies passengers, police VIPs, etc. we drivers sadly are just fair game. 6. A job that has zero pension plans for drivers... yet demand drivers to sacrifice their physical well being for fares that are not commensurate to the occupational hazards from long hours of driving day in day out. 7. The conditions of most E-hailing cars is most worrisome, either the app companies work with leasing firms to come up with some sort of swap deals so that better and more fuel efficient cars can be injected into the system. 8. To those on weekly remittances you guys are the true MVP. |
fortune100:The gearbox has never been repaired. The information on price range for repairs is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your response. |
Kumuyiii:Thanks I will ensure I get it in writing and also an SMS to my phone assuring me of the service to be rendered. |
Hello copilot, been awhile. I need your advice, I drive a Corolla my gear box is giving me issues, I have been giving the option to either rrepair or buy. a tokunboh. My fear is buying a reworked gearbox. My Kazeem who worked on my engine in 2004 when I replaced the crankshaft, has vouched for a reliable gear master The problem with the gear is that when parked overnight and I want to go out in the morning it will not reverse. Once in motion the car will always reverse. The gear master assured me he can do the servicing and repair. Please Should I buy a tokunboh gearbox or repair my current gear box... |
jmoore:Well Iyaloja is for life, presidency has a time limit. |
The transition of Gazzuzz still feels difficult to believe. I had sent him a WhatsApp message, with regards to repair works, i never got any response. I erroneously assumed that his priority was now petrol to CNG conversion, little did I know he was battling for his life. Rest in peace. |
Omoapena:It becomes madness when we do not have a choice. I have done such a long pick up because, it meant within 10 mins I will be at home. It was around palmgrove bustop, after 11p.m, it was a lady, going to the area where I reside. The Rider was so grateful to get a ride, that she gladly waited. So one man's food is another man's poison. |
Bammzzie:Truly E-hailing is a cash cow. Hopeful he is preparing to release to the house his 2023 half year performance report. |
TheModerator:In-country production, is still the best option, but putting all our eggs in one basket may turn out to be counter productive. Dangote Refinery that everyone is looking up to may not want to sell pms at even N600/ litre... the dollar debt servicing component of the refinery is no joke, so there are still a lot of problems for the common man ahead. My simple proposal of crude oil to pms swap deal of at least 1 year renewable contract will give us pricing stability in terms of pms.. by eliminating pricing volatility in the energy market... A Request for Proposal (RFP) technical and commercial to major refineries in the world to deliver x amount of pms over a period of 12 months in exchange for x amount of Nigeria's crude, will surely attract some major refineries interest... Please It will be an open competitive bidding process, so Nigeria will get the best value for her crude in exchange for uninterrupted supply of pms over a 12 months period QED. A process like this will eliminate a large chunk of corruption in the system. Whatever happens in the forex market will no longer affect the pricing of pms.... I believe if such a proposal is tested pms will crash to under N400/ litre. I am an advocate that government should provide the enabling environment for free and fair competition.. The major oil marketers, IPMAN and others will simply partner with any international refineries of their choices to submit a joint bid... so nobody is muscled out by NNPC Ltd. Believe me, the cartel will never allow such a process to see the light of the day. |
TheModerator:It is quite avoidable, you can put in PMS deliveries contract that hedges against exchange rate volatility, but doing the right thing means avenue for massive corruption in the upstream and downstream sectors would be blocked... so they keep fooling us with the current dollar naira exchange rate. The same set of economic assassins that have frustrated all efforts to ensure the Nations refineries are working are the ones pushing for higher prices of PMS, while cashing out big time. I will recommend for reading Den of Thieves to understand more on the Derivatives Market. |
PapaNnamdi:Those were negotiating template at N185/ litre, |
GeneralZodd:The George Soros of uber land. Keep piling up those dollars. |
WHAT IS THE WORTH OF AN UBER DRIVER.. So many interesting point of view... I am proud of driving Uber I am ashamed of being a uber driver ACT 1: Scene 1 I recall years back when I was still using my SUV for this hustle. I picked a chap and his girlfriend within surulere, they were apparently heading towards Ago Palace axis, my fuel guage was on the last bar, so I was looking for a destination trip that takes me closer to my home... when I called I thought I heard ojuelegba, so I accepted when they entered my car I soon discovered he was a staff of uber, I felt we could have a 360 degrees chat about the ehailing biz... when i started the trip i now realized he was going off my route... i decided the error was mine and proceeded on the journey but less than 3 mins of driving my car fuel reservoir tank lit up, I now had to inform him of the situation, that I would have to take them back to their pickup point because I dont want us to be stranded on the road because of no fuel. The uber staff said no problem, but as I dropped them back at the pick up, before getting out of my car....he said "This is the last time I will ever drive on Uber".. Driving off and heading back home around 11pm, I really pitied myself, so this chap actually believes I am happy driving on uber. Imagine a young man with little power and the black man entitled mentality, what will this boy do if ever he becomes the CEO of a company or governor. Uber did not block my account. When I went to uber office some months after the incidents I saw the fellow he was a customer care agent. I am sure he did not recognize me. ACT 2: Scene 1. 2022. It was on a Tuesday, I was then an HP driver, i had set my targets for the day, while at lekki phase 1 i noticed my bolt account had been blocked... A lady I dropped off at Apapa on Sunday made 2 transfers, the 1st one did not go, but the second was successful, so I promised her to refund if the 1st transfer was eventually successful. I dont work on Mondays, but an unknown number was repeatedly calling me I did not pick... so not long after my account was blocked by bolt on Tuesday, the same number called I picked and I was like if I was not picking ur call send an SMS I promptly made a refund to her account, it took bolt almost 2 weeks to unblock my account... Bolt did not feel it necessary to even send a notice via the inapp_ message system for the issue to be resolved within 48 hours. Immediate blocking. ...So how can I be proud to be driving uber, when I am treated like nobody.. 3. ACT 3: Scene 1 Indrive took a commission for a trip that never happened , my phone experienced a glitch, so after driving almost 20 mins to riders pick up point, fuel and time wasted, as if they is not enough. It took about 3 days of persistent mails to their wacky customer service before a full refund was made. ... should I be proud on driving on uber 4. ACT 4: Scene 1 Last year my Uber app flashed, uber was celebrating me for completing 5000 trips on their platform, but below the message was click to take another trip.... so after 5,000 trips a simple come and pick a gift item from uber Maryland office, a branded uber tee shirt, uber face cap or uber pen... All they see in me is akin to a Camel searching for the proverbial oasis Even the app companies makes it difficult for you to be proud of doing ehailing. There is a lady who runs one of the biggest bakery in Nigerian, she had an option of working in any MNC or blue chip company... Her family her high rollers She never worked a day for any MNC, but started her baking business, that is her passion and pride. She is proud to be a Baker. Her story does not mirror the realities of uber drivers. I remembered back then at my former place of work, I had set up a high powered level meeting for some of our industry partners to be chaired by my boss, I was at the reception to make sure there were no issues, suddenly the receptionist ran away from her desk and hid herself for about 10 mins, she said she was sorry, that one of the General Managers coming for the meeting was her former colleague and she did not want him to see her. I asked her why, she said she does not want him to know she works here! In short she is ashamed to be a receptionist, although her remuneration is more than what some managers earn. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION. 1.The job that you are passionate about is what you will be proud of doing.. Even when the opportunity to earn more presents itself, because the job is your passion you will not be interested. 2. A job you do out of necessity, because there are no other reasonable options is not what you can convince any rational thinker that you are proud of doing. P.S. I am neither proud nor ashamed of doing Uber, my car is not tinted so I am not hiding my identity from the general public, that I am an uber driver. I also will not deny my gratitude for the opportunity that uber has given me to meet family obligations. The only drivers that I would believe are proud to do uber, are those drivers that would turn down an offer letter to work with Shell, Chevron MTN Dangote refinery, world bank etc . If you are such a driver I fully respect your passion... in no distance you will soon be making the bigger bucks with all the endorsement at formula 1 given Louis Hamilton a chase for his money. Uber biz is a stepping stone to bigger dreams. 2 mice fell into a bucket of cream one gave up and drowned, the other mouse moved and moved until the milk was turned to cheese and used the opportunity to get out of the situation. tojahh:Is the fuel tank full... you left out this very important detail.. |
YeyeGbami:Water entered my car around ojo on Friday, even with the effort to pick up my rider I had to eventually cancel because the water I saw ahead would likely cover my car bonnet. Honestly those who are able to Navigate the road have my full respect.... but my concern is that the Kazeems are doing Thanksgiving in church for this showers of blessing. I believe the golden rule is when it rains heavily avoid routes that you are not familiar with. |
YeyeGbami:If the surge is right we are ready to surf the waters. Every greedy driver has his/her price... |
GeneralZodd:My brother, if not for the flooded roads in most part of Lagos... i am sure you would easily post N700k gross weekly. But on a serious note, to pilots no do pass ur self. I was listening to uncle Jimmy on Naijainfo fm, people were calling in to complain bitterly on the astronomical increase in the prices of drugs. In all your daily hustle protect your health. |
sydneyboss:Jungle mode. ... survival of the fittest! |
ReadaDream:A non indrive driver spotted. ![]() |
adeyemo001:With so much uncertainty in the industry, if possible negotiate for a rental deal... Desperation most often leads to disastrous consequences. Abort mission. |
ReadaDream:Was there ever a sustained increase? when ever you see an unrealistic price offer from rider do not even negotiate. Why should a rider be allowed to price a trip from issac john to aboru for N3400, fuel is N500/litre. When I checked Google map 1hr 40 mins with bloodline of wickedness (traffic congestions) as far as the eyes can see... I had a back and forth with a rider on indrive trip from Amuwo-Odofin to isolo from N3k+ we finally agreed on N4k+, driving to pickup he cancelled, luckily I got a request on bolt heading to same area trip ended N7k+. |
Omoapena:Will the driver be allowed to on AC? |
northbird:why don't you check out rad autoworks... if you need to buy genuine lubricants. |
Pearl1910:FWD or AWD? |
PALLATIVES ROLL OUT HAS STARTED. July 1, picked up my rider via indrive heading towards ikeja. Me: please note that passengers is responsible for toll payment. Rider: how much Me: full chest out, only N200. RIder: ok. we got to MMIA toll, toll is now N300... Is this our palliative roll out. We are yet to recover from buying fuel at N500 per litre... It is well |
