una won open church? try it and see. I tink the simple reason for all these things is cuz God didn't call the pastors that does these things rather. they r the people dat called God. And they can practically do anything to keeping the church going. you get the drill. |

Kenwood Academy's valedictorian, Arianna Alexander, wants to go to college to learn about business. As it turns out, she has a number of options. "It was a lot to take in. I received emails, letters. It was just like, 'Come here, come here!' They were bombarding me with all this information," Arianna said. Arianna hails from Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. She graduated with a 5.1 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. She was accepted to 26 universities, including six Ivy League schools. Her scholarship offers total more than $3 million. "I feel like it means I can afford college and I don't have to worry about it. I feel like that's an issue for a lot of people my age," Arianna said. Her father encouraged her, after another Kenwood student was offered more than $1 million in scholarships a few years ago. "I planted the seed in Arianna's mind that you can do the same thing. So when the process got started and a million was achieved, let's go for two. I said let's go for three and she did it," said Pierre Alexander, Arianna's father. Arianna is the baby of the family. She has three older siblings. "It was a big blessing, because I've already put three through college. Now I don't have to worry too much about her," Pierre said. Arianna has also picked a school, thanks to Paul Brush, one of her teachers. She plans to attend University of Pennsylvania. "He said, 'Do you know about the Wharton School of Business?' I said, 'I have no idea what you're talking about,'" Arianna said. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/06/wonderful-chicago-student-accepted-in.html#sthash.sloocC2d.dpuf

Lagos lawyer Femi Falana threatened to go to court if the controversial Sexual Offences Bill is passed into law. A senior advocate of Nigerian expressed shock over the age limit set for potential victims by the bill. With the provided provision the suggested law appears to stipulate that incidents involving children above 11 will not be considered crimes (life imprisonment only for those convicted of having sexual intercourse with under 11 children). See extracts from his statement published on Premium Times: “But since the obnoxious provision was illegally inserted by the Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters without approval, the Senate ought to reverse itself and amend the relevant provisions of the Sexual Offences Bill, 2015. Our Law firm has made a request to that effect. “Finally, if the Bill is eventually passed into law with its obnoxious provisions we shall not hesitate to pray the Federal High Court to strike it down in view of Article 18(3) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act (Cap A9) Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 which has imposed a duty on the Government of Nigeria to ensure the elimination of every discrimination against women and ensure the protection of the rights of the woman and the child, as stipulated in international declarations and conventions.” Earlier this week Nobel Prize laureate Wole Soyinka added his voice to the outrage surrounding the hectically passed bill. In his letter to the immediate passed Senate the respected Nigerian said: “It strikes me that all the new bill does is empower the clique of paedophiles.” In a separate development former aviation minister Femi Fani Kayode accused the authorities of legalizing sex with 11-year-old children. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/06/see-what-femi-falana-have-to-say-about.html#sthash.YBcoBXh8.dpuf

Popular Malawian pastor, Hastings Salanje with a church in South Africa, was reported to have said that 'pastors need to be rich because the congregation have to pay them for pouring unto them blessings they seek from God'. Local newspaper, Malawi 24 reports that Pastor Salanje founder of God's Chapel International, lately on social media, has been bragging around to have been 'embarrassingly blessed by God' and 'buying expensive cars and mansions in South Africa'. The pastor reportedly spoke to a Malawian radio station, Capital Radio in the Straight Talk programme on Thursday addressing the issue of flaunting his wealth on social media. He said: "You see, we men of God are rich just because people pay us for giving them blessings". The pastor said that he had no worries with some Malawians hating him over the posts he makes on Facebook, the man of God whose sons have also joined him in boasting of the family's riches argued that everyone must have a group of haters. "I wouldn't say that all Malawians hate me, there are others that love me lot. That's life anyway if there are some that love me, they have reason so do those that hate me" " The reason that would make someone hate another would be jealousy and intimidation" said - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/06/popular-pastor-says-people-must-pay-him.html#sthash.F2dpYFRQ.dpuf

Unknown pipeline vandals yesterday struck at the NNPC Pipeline at Ije Ododo causing an explosion at the flow lines.Speaking with Ships and Ports, spokesperson for the National Emegerncy Management Agency (NEMA), south-west, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the hoodlums struck around 11:15 pm. The emergency team swung into action this morning after securing access to the swampy terrain. Report says NNPC has shut down flows and supply valves to prevent the fire from spreading to other facilities in the area. Ije Ododo pipeline is directly linked with the Atlas Cove that supplies products to Mosinmi. Mosinmi distributes petroleum products to other part of south-west zone. In recent times, taming pipeline vandalism has been of serious concern to stakeholders and the federal government. According to statistics released by NNPC, the country loses about N535million daily to pipeline vandalism. Before the expiration of his tenure, Goodluck Jonathan awarded a N9billion contract to members of the Oodua Peoples Congress to secure the pipelines. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/06/nnpc-pipeline-explodes-following.html#sthash.H6co7cQk.dpuf
