Although it is a mystery, The teaching of the trinity is right. Jesus while on earth always made references to His father in heaven and called himself the son of God. He even promised the Holy spirit and there is a place in the scriptures which i can't remember the exact place now(i think when He performed a miracle and the people claimed he was using satan's power)where Jesus made it known that the sin against the Holy spirit cannot be forgiven and the sin against the Holy spirit is attributing the work of God to the devil.

I'm even more puzzled by the fact that even the catholic or any other church for that matter can't prove what Jesus or Mary actually looked like with all these images. They just mold a human with a meek-looking appearance and start bowing to such as a mark of respect. Good intention I must say but it's still idolatry because those things are made of mere mortals. Relationship with God through Jesus is spiritually based. All these images, symbolism like crucifix, rosary etc to me are off no importance to attaining spiritual righteousness.

Mary was a normal human like every other mothers out there. Her chasteness and the need for Christ to come in that era and in human form neccessitated her being chosen. This doesn't mean there are no women as pure as she was in this present day. If the first-coming of Christ was meant to be in this century for instance, another Mary would have been chosen to serve as a pathway.

And in re-enforcing what someone said earlier, the only church is the body of Christ which all born-again christians are parts of. Ain't nuffin like a mother church just as there's nothing like a mother-heaven or mini-hell.

My brother you should know that the bible you people are using to criticise the catholic church was put together by the church years ago and the church would have being able to remove any part that was against or contrary to its teachings but they didn't.
Its obvious you lack a good understanding of the immaculate conception. For your information Mary was conceived without sin. She was specially prepared to bring the Son of God into the world. If mary was with sin Jesus could have inherited that sin from her but because He was God He couldn't have being with a sin. Why do you think that Jesus had to come without sexual intercouse have you ever thought of that? Have you ever heard of the Magnificat? (luke 1:46-56). You should read it and if you don't understand get someone who knows the scriptures to explain for you.

And for your information the catholic church is in the master front critising alot of vices like abortion, gay marriage, use of contraceptives and the rest. If they should follow the world and accept gay marriage i wonder who will be able to stop America.

You know nothing of what you write about. I laugh when most of you criticise the catholic church when they don't criticise any of you. It only shows how bigger and matured they are. So because the pope wants to retire there is something fishing it only shows your lack of understanding of what is right and wrong. If you don't know about something it is better you do your research properly before you open your wide mouth to say what is on your small mind.

The Catholic Church is complicit in abhorrent criminal activities involving protecting and not exposing pedophile priests. This, and previous Popes, and so many of their 'priestly flock', are clearly guilty of both obstruction of justice and aiding/abetting a crime, at the very least, and/or the repugnant abuse of minors, and should be held accountable to the laws of the land. Their secrecy and lies to avoid prosecution are pathetic attempts to maintain the century's old 'status quo'. Enough is enough ... get on with it ... arrests and charges should ensue. Freedom is a luxury that should not be afforded to those who have perpetrated such evil while masquerading as pious souls.

Hopefully, Karma and/or the judicial systems throughout the world will deal with those who purvey(ed) their deceitful, self-righteous religious dogma, while simultaneously preying upon the naivete of adults, and the innocence and trust of the most vulnerable in our society ... children.

Going to church on a sunday is one of the ways of keeping the day holy which is the sabbath day for christians. Not being able to go to church on a genuine reason can not be regarded as a sin. You may have missed the sunday service because you had to do something which was also to the glorification of God. But when you miss sunday service for no reason i think that is very unacceptable.
I know God is not just in the church alone but as a christian you should follow the tradition of worshipping together with your fellow christians on sundays. Even if you can't participate in the other activities of the church at least try to keep a date with the Lord every sunday.

Its a very good idea and a way of rebranding the Nigerian image and the number 419. I think is high time we got an emergency police number instead of those numerous private lines we see on the internet and police stations.

It is old testament but it doesn't make it irrelevant. Jesus said i have not come to abolish the laws but to fufil them. As a matter of fact Jesus in His time observed all the old testament laws to the fullest.
Remember when God sent moses to pharoah he said tell him that "I am" has sent you. He didnt say "I was" or "I will be". Nothing about God changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Its ridiculous these days to hear people interpreting the bible to suit their claims. Do you know that the tithing they preach in churches these days is an old testament law? And if it is does that make it not acceptable in our practice of christianity today?
In a nutshell what am trying to tell you is that nothing in the old testament should be discredited because of the new testament. The new testament is a fufilment of the old testament and the laws given by God in the old testament remains because God never change.

Most people from those areas bear bini names. Osagie is a bini name and i know a friend from that part of delta that bears the name too. Even the name 'Okoro ' is being bore by the binis and igbos even some parts of Delta do.
