Tobichimezie:
Jordan Torunarigha? And if Tella grabs his chance and performs well in the WCQ, don't bet on Chukwueze not sweating it out for a final place in the squad against Tella.

Chuks will make the squad bro. The only thing that will stop him is injury. At worst, he may get benched at the tourney.

Before Charlie Patino moved to Swansea, Mikel Arteta had a discussion with Patino and he promised that if he could shine at Swansea, Patino would be considered for the opportunity to perform in the Arsenal first team after his return.

This was also the discussion that made Patino completely change his mind about leaving Arsenal to find an opportunity to play football in the first team, and accept to leave on loan to gain experience.

Charlie Patino expressed his satisfaction with the development plan that Mikel Arteta proposed for him and Patino is willing to do his best to prove to Mikel Arteta that he is capable of competing in the Arsenal first team.

Arsenal also hopes that Charlie Patino will get closer to the level of the first team after he completes his loan at Swansea this season.

With Jorginho, Mo Elneny or Thomas Partey all likely to leave Arsenal after this season, Charlie Patino can completely believe in a chance in the Arsenal first team if he performs well in a Swansea shirt.

Your thoughts...

Spy360:

Havertz replaced Odegaard and we scored 5. Selah.

Your matter don tire me

Spy360:
The bolded is not really my point. It is simply about how selection is made on march day and why.

For example, some players are selected for their physicality eg Saliba, Gabriel, Rice. Some for their technique eg Zinchenko, Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard. While some for their tactical prowess eg White, Havertz, Raya.

Some fall in-between like Partey or possess multiple attributes like Rice etc.

In most cases the coach can afford not to play physical or technical players but it will be very hard for them to ignore the tactical players because they are the brain of the team and they determine how the team plays, how others move and what tactics the manager wants..

I think what you're referring to here is skillset of each players. I said something similar here last weekend.

I'm just happy we now have different 'types' of players with different skillsets.

do4luv14:
I know,

One of the reason Pinnick styles for him is pattern of play, asin playing indenty,

I also think his playing style is similar to Dennerby, Also he was the one Nff was going for, before settling for Dennerby

*yinmu* .... wetin Pinnick Sabi about pattern of play?

Small energy and stamina wey we talk say make you use build muscle so breeze no go dey fall you on the field, you dey use am do jangirover in the other room. Goal wey you suppose score for pitch, you score am for bed.

Unserious fellow. Congratulations to him sha

I would never understand the idea behind shifting Lamine to the left in order to accommodate Raphina.

The nonchalant attitude at the final third messed Barca up again.

ThierryJay:
What a suckerpunch. Madrid were quite lucky (but how many times do we say that)

We had 3 defenders in the right side of the box yet they marked nothing leaving Modric in acres of space to make the decisive touch to Bellingham.

Chai.

Martinez actually played Modric inside. Man should have stay put.

Culer:
so you go skip arsenal match?

I actually watch both.

charlesemeka85:
that fermin guy is a huge talent and looked good in the 2 matches I hv seen him play

If well groomed I see another Busquest but with more aggression and pace in the lad

Rakitic precisely.... the boy get better shot for leg.

That Tomiyasu's goal actually got me emotional. Come see the way I shouted when he scored. And then when VAR had to step in, I'm sure my neighbors could hear me shout 'God Abeg' continuously.

I'm so happy for him.

BlueRayDick:
Tottenham has not played Chelsea , city and United all of whom Arsenal has gotten 7 points out of possible 9.

Issokay !

This one even far...their squad depth might be their biggest problem.

They should enjoy the moment while it lasts.

It is like Xavi dey this thread sha... That was the best team he could put out there. We watch.

Brentford just wire Chelsea 2-0. I knew exactly why I gave 0/10 to Arteta for that painful draw.

All eyes on ESR today. Good luck to Captain Saka on his attempt to break a decades-old record.

BlueRayDick:
How can two very good players like Jesus and Partey be too injury prone like that ?

It's just so annoying. At this point I won't mind if we sell Partey; abi what's the essence of having good player that can't stay fit for 3 straight months ?

It is frustrating. Thank God Toney will be coming in January. We better look for an alternative to Partey. Let's cash in on him asap.

Kilishihunter:
What of 3-5-2?
I've been seeing several drawn up formations on X and I think like this, Since vardrid and vini play more centrally which has brought out the strength of Jude to devastating effect, I think we'll need more cover at the back especially considering our lengthy injury list, Let's just try to keep it close till the second half when dem yamal (he obviously can't start) Fermin and raphinha or lewa whoever's on the bench come in
Inigo-christensen-araujo
Cancelo. Balde
Romeu
Gavi
Gundo
Lewa/Ferran. Felix

Nice lineup but I would swap Romeu with Fermin. We need the latter's goal threat and energy in Midfield.

Kog45:
Make dem bring any super eagles defender wey better pass Omeruo in the last 10 years with eagles stats….na to Dey call him championship failure, mediocre and crap but their overrated players never once convinced us in GWG despite EPL Bla bla blu ratings.

Super eagles players performances to them should be based on league rating and go to that league proper the said players are average or below average, some are not getting games

Naso dem go Dey hammer Simon Moses anyhow and praising wingers who are bench warmers by giving us fallacies on pure theoretical thinking which never existed in reality.

No wonder we Dey suffer for pushing regional and third division keepers as eagles keeper but today despite using eagles to rise they are still lacking in basic goalkeeping skills and it cost us Afcon and WC

Elder Kog sir...this is so apt!

The Morocco team that made history at the last World cup, I would like Komekn to come here and tell us how many of them play in the top 5 leagues.

Maduka, Bassey, Akpors....wetin these guys don do for our national team sef? mtchew...

BlueRayDick:
Me too I want a natural RB, but my issue is with Arteta he will still use a hybrid RB instead . If u notice, he's had chance to buy natural RB's since he joined but still, he keeps buying hybrid players for that position. He practically forces white to play that position.

The next RB he is going to buy will be in the mould of Zinny. Someone who can invert and dictate play.

daveP:
Meaning the LW Attack is 200% active. Will also mean we don't need possession based approach. Counter will be the way.

All join. Sanchez can fit in the possession-based approach too na.

daveP:
Looking like Yasu has taken over the LB. Meaning we need to enter Market for natural RB like this

Timber will likely be back in January.

BlueRayDick:
Martinelli no dey inside the picture ; na Trossard dey there.

I didn't notice. I thought that was our first 11. Still same thing boss... Sanchez works straight into this current team.

Both Jesus and Partey out for 'few' weeks. Omo...at this stage, I'm fed up.

daveP:
Who will walk from the former to the latter XI/who do you want from the former to be in latter and vice versa by your personal preference and why?

Martinelli will have to sit down for Sanchez .... I don't really see what other could bring to this team as a starter but Sanchez? Chai...

jpmoriarti:
Romeu has his good sides. He understands Barça's positional game more than most DMs. He's not pacey but he's a good passer of the ball.

He needs an FdJ alongside him for additional cover. You'll notice that he's been found out a bit more, since FdJ fell injured.

Gundogan with all his virtues, does not provide similar protection

For me, his problem is not that he lacks cover but he is too casual. Just sideway passes and inshallah. At least, he should attempt some long passes.

Please does anyone here use cybereagles index (it's quite a thriving Naija football forum), but it seems to have been down for some days now, anyone who uses here should please confirm what the problem is.

Seems there server is down.

charlesemeka85:
Newcastle na very useless team. Agidi football with no finesse and creativity

Everybody Dey run jam opponents like headless chickens

I was expecting something better from them. Match wey you go calm down and control. Just running Helter skelter.

Kilishihunter:
To me ooh until that goal I no too get wahala with romeu, he did well especially in the first half, but true true we need a younger pivot, make we just try seal moscardo's siggy before next June sha though the money wey Corinthians dey call long

For that goal, Felix actually played a hand. There were about 2 players who were free but the guy still lost the ball. As for Romeu, maybe he was trying to set an offside trap.

andrewbaba44:
Hope say Joao felix and ferran never get injury because which kind wahala be all these one

Na team b we want take play Classico ?

Fear not.... we have La Masia

Kilishihunter:
For this year abi next year baba? Cause we don already sabi who don win this year own sha

Next five years maybe.

Lamine go pick one. Guguru sef go pick.... Fermin own don sure.

Infact, na make all La Masia graduate line up and be collecting the award o.

Kilishihunter:
Na just experience baba mi, he's still 16 and learning, trying to cope with the demands of the first team, but he's still shows how talented he is from time to time especially when he's facing his man or joining the buildup despite not being passed to more often
Even in your main team gan Arteta also has his midfield gem in nwaneri and i think he should be seeing gametime no matter how little from time to time to build up experience like saka back then, meanwhile Wetin Jesus do yesterday no good ooh

Yea...na experience bro. Kid is still 16.

Not only Nwaneri...we have Patino, Dubbery and Myles too.

Jesus? The way he sent those defenders go Bariga?

“I all the time go to the defenders – Gabi, Saliba, Ben, Zinchenko, in today’s case Tomiyasu, even the keeper – and I say: ‘Listen, when you put the ball away, always look at me. If you cannot look because it’s quick, put (it) in the middle, I’ll be there.’

I think I controlled good, then I saw both (defenders) jump on me, and I turned, and obviously I just need to give Gabi because he’s so fast and so good and he finished the action so well and opened the result for us.”

-Gabriel Jesus

My Comrade

2 potential Golden boy winners don dey ground already. Make nobody come outside and start shouting ojoro.

This week has been somehow... watching Fermin for 10 minutes and my stomach dey bubble. Such a beautiful baller
