DrayZee:
Would you like to remove his 31 goals and see what happens to Juventus? grin

Higuain their major striker has 8 goals. Dybala had to step up. In that team, Ronaldo has the highest goals, the highest dribbles completed (even with all the trash talk that “hE dOeSn’T dRiBbLe”), and the 3rd highest chances created. Remove him from that team and they won’t even be in top 3. Ronaldo bailed them out too much.
I agree his goals were vital but what I'm saying is that even without him being in the team they would have still performed. See, before he started banging in the goals this season, Juve were still on top ....plus most of the goals he scored weren't that spectacular (goals that only him would have scored). Most of his goals, like 70% were penalties and tap ins (no disrespect there)....anybody could have been there to score pks and tap ins. And you said dybala had to step up??.....Paulo has been that team's best player for years, that he had a bad season last season doesn't remove that. Higuain had 8 league goals as you said, let's say he scored the 12 pks Ronnie scored then that'd be 20 goals, he'd have scored more than Ronaldo then, 31-12=19.

We are saying the same thing... ronaldo was as important and immobile in the team ...they both scored important goals and lots of it but in the end one of them won the most important trophy... the difference between both was 5 goals despite Ronaldo playing 4 games less... immobile can never score 20 goals for juve cos of their style of play ... no juve player has ever scored 30 goals a season ... higuain pumped 36 goals at napoli but cudnt score 20 the following season at juve ...

U mentioned goals and assist ..which he will deservedly win the European golden boot but he dint win the league ...his 36 goals cudnt win lazio the league but ronaldos 31 goals won huge the league...that's the difference...
Really??....his 31 goals won the league??....same league juve has been winning sevens years consecutively prior to Ronnie's arrival?

Dibz's POV

I half opened my eyes a few seconds after I'd punched in the passcode. Nothing had changed, the red light from the keypad l indicated that it was still locked and no gas had come out from nowhere or...or maybe I'm dead already. I heaved a sigh of relief when I searched the room for my dead body and didn't see anything which meant my spirit was still in my body (nollywood don mess me up sha).
Suddenly the box made a click sound and the light changed to green and the box unlocked immediately, opening halfway. My legs gave way and I fell on my knees closing my eyes while giving thanks to God. I really thought was going to die today. I instantly remembered I was not alone here and whipped my head towards the direction of the MD as he slowly removed the oxygen mask like thing he wore on his face.
He was smiling. Why was he smiling? He's supposed to be afraid or even angry, why the smile.

"Why are you smiling?", I asked backing away from him as he took a step towards me.

"Congratulations, Mr Manuel", he said as he stopped. "You passed the test, you are the true heir".
'Now I'm confused, what test?', I thought.

"What are you talking about?", I asked. "What test?".

He smiled again before he spoke. "You see, there wasn't any passcode or there is actually but it's not a word or numbers or anything like that. Your grandfather was a very smart man and done all these in anticipation of any impostors, even your dad didn't know the actual passcode. The man didn't trust anybody, well except me. He saved me as a kid and I since swore my allegiance to the man, I would never betray him and he knew it that's why he let me in on the secret and ensured that I made sure the inheritance got to you one way or the other, even if your dad refused or even you refused. He loved you so much , right from the moment you were born, said you were the carbon copy of his late wife, your dad's mom, the only person who could tame him."

I felt cold all over as he listened to him. He means to tell me that he let me go through all that just for fun, to test me?

"Why did you let me go through all that then?", I asked softly.

"I'm sorry about that, I had to be sure you were really the one. As I said earlier, impostors have been here before claiming to be you, one even looked exactly like you, wonder how they got to know about the inheritance but they all failed the test and were eliminated immediately", he said.

"What f***king test is this? Tell me!!!", I yelled angrily.

"Woah easy Sir, I'm sorry. The..the....it's your fingerprint. All the keypad needed was your fingerprint, anything you'd have pressed would have unlocked the box it just needed your fingerprint", he said as he took a step backwards.

I was dumbfounded.

"So you mean even if I pressed 1 , the box would've unlocked?", I asked astonished as I stared wide eyed at the box to which he nodded.

"The keys just served as a decoy", he explained.

I proceeded to open the box fully and I got out some papers and files but there wasn't any key whatsoever. I was alarmed now.

"There's... there's no key", I said panicked.

"Oh...you don't need a key. You've got a special vault where your inheritance is in cash worth almost $2bn and then the bank is yours too, %100 ownership", he said as he opened the compartment where he got the mask thingy from and presssed a key which caused the doors to open and just immediately, about ten guard like guys rushed in pointing their weapons at me.

"Sshhh....stand down guys. Drop your weapons at once!", Mr Arinze ordered. " He's the new boss, the boss's very own grandson". Almost immediately, the lowered their weapons and bowed their heads slightly in a show of respect.
I was awed I won't lie. Maybe being the new mafia boss wasn't such a bad thing afterall (lol just kidding). I prolly wasn't going to use this money after I regained our company, it was illegal drug money afterall ( lol kidding again, I'm so keeping the money).
I stood up and dismissed the guards while I went through the files and documents with joy in my heart. With this money we didn't even need the company that much, we could easily start another one from scratch with at least two more branches at once but no, that company is the sweat and blood of my dad and there's no way I was going to let it slip out just like that under my watch.

Dropping the paperwork, I turned to Mr Arinze.
"Mr Arinze", I began. "I need you to buy some shares for me right away", I said smiling.....TBC

Ozil had 0.65 goal contributions per game at Werder Bremen. He moved up to 0.67 goal contribution per game while playing for Madrid. How does his 0.48 goal contribution per game for Arsenal in England compare to that?

Carzola signed for Arsenal in the 2012/2013 season. There are about 190 PL games within that period. A regular player should play in at least 150 games within that stretch. The Carzola you are marketing missed not less than 135 games while playing at Arsenal. Bros, forget Carzola abeg. He never stayed fit enough to actually matter.

Suarez won the European Golden shoe in EPL with 62 points after three years. He did the same at La Liga with 80 points in his very first season. End of discussion.

Well, Sanchez had a goal contribution of 0.59 per game while playing in Spain. Compared to 0.5 per game in the PL. Shaved.

Even RVP went through injury prone and injury free sessions in England alone. This is not up for argument. An injury prone player is an injury prone player, irrespective of the league being played in. One only needs to look at the record of injuries within seasons to see this.

De Gea arrived as a teenager in Man Utd and underwent quite a tumultous start to his career. And of course, the De Gea who achieved world fame did so over his years (never immediately) at Man Utd. His best years came at least after a season or two since signing.
Oh, and for the record, when Ben Foster was sold, De Gea didn't expect to see himself in a United shirt.
Sorry I forgot...Suarez's first season as a barca player, he wasn't in the top five, he was actually in eight position with sixteen goals. It was in the following season he scored 40 to win the pichichi, now make no mistake I'm a barca fan and I love Suarez and he's a very fantastic player but he hit that high because he was helped alot. Messi and Neymar esp helped him alot to achieve that...for example in the last three games, he hit 9 goals in 3 games. Messi let off 3 penalties to him in those 9 goals plus when they were in 1 on 1 situations but they'd pass so he'd tap in. This is my own opinion tho and you don't have to accept it, I think they did that so he'd have a shot at the pichichi rather than Ronaldo who finished second with 35 goals

Bale
Van Nistelrooy
Beckham
I know I said in my comment "someone that developed as a player in the EPL", Suarez and Van were already established strikers in the eredivise with Ajax and PSV. They both won the golden boot there as well and even did same in the EPL too.
Bale??....Cmon..did you watch Bale at spurs? He was the best player in the EPL when he left but has he been able to replicate such form in the supposed easier laliga??.... I'll leave you to answer that.
The only near valid point is the fact you mentioned Beckham.

Nice stats....I really like the way the argument is so educative and non-insulting at all.
Now let's talk about the main issue which is players the came to the EPL and performed really well individually.
Santi suffered injuries ,yes including one that kept him out for almost two years and there was even the rumor that his leg might be amputated but before that, in his first season in Arsenal, he scored 12 goals and recorded 14 assists in that PL season and he went produce that nice performance in the next two seasons before the injuries began. Ask any arsenal fan the importance of Santi, he was even dubbed "The Magician" there at the Emirates.
You also mentioned RVP's injuries that began at the latter years of his career in the EPL...let's remember that before then dude had already gotten himself two golden boots there and had done pretty well for him, it's only fair that the law of diminishing marginal returns caught up with him. He produced a stellar performance individually before the injuries began, let's be honest Bale hasn't done that yet even after 7 seasons.
Ozil is an on and off player, he was better at Madrid I won't lie but he was pretty important to Arsenal and his all time highest came at the EPL when he recorded 19 assists and also arsenal hadn't won any trophy for nine years prior to his arrival.
Now Alexis, your stats about him was wrong sha. He goal contributions to barca in laliga was a total is 73 in 141 matches which is 0.59 while at Arsenal in the EPL, he had gcr of 0.7 . He immediately became a figurehead at Arsenal at the time of his arrival. You won't lie, he was one of the best EPL players during his time at Arsenal.

I think most people will know Sanchez at Udinese is exactly why Barca bought him. Ozil is tamed in England. You can blame that on anything but he was in his powers at Madrid playing alongside Ronaldo. At England? Never so much.
You criticize injury prone Bale but mention Carzola. Did I see there that Laporte conquered EPL? And you even mention De Gea, Fabregas and Torres who had a lot of their development come in England?? Stop glory hunting.
And there's this talk of 'a whole Ajax'.. Oga, Ajax hardly played CL football while Suarez was there. And when they managed to do so, they didn't go beyond group stage. Before you market Suarez at a level he wasn't.
Lol...maybe we should ask sincere arsenal fans how good Ozil was when they brought him in and ask them of Carzola's importance in that same arsenal team and you're telling me Torres developed in EPL?...really?? jokes. Suarez came to Liverpool and became their best player same way Ronaldo did at Madrid. You talk about Sanchez's form at Udinese, was that same form replicated at Barca? but what happened when he landed at Arsenal, dude excelled effortlessly individually. Injury prone Bale lol, so EPL is tougher and laliga is easier but he wasn't injury prone at the supposed tougher league but came to the easier one and all of a sudden he's injury prone, wow. Now please be honest with your self, you have a chance to pick Tottenham's Bale and Madrid's bale, which would you pick?.....De gea developed at manU, a whole Atletico Madrid's no1 developed at manU. Fergie brought a mere developer to replace a whole Van de sar then what was Ben Foster doing?

Best players move from EPL to La liga

That is a higher level!!

Excellent La liga players rarely move to the EPL

Best players from the EPL are usually not fulfilled until they play at the highest level of EUROPEAN football, which is in the La liga.. Madrid or Barcelona!!

Only Aguero, Torres, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Fabregas etc are the exception... And, they left for tactical reason . Not because they see EPL as a greater place ..

Guess what, Aguero is destroying all time goal records in the EPL

Yaya Toure destroyed EPL for real

David Silva is a Legend, already

Torres was a hit in Liverpool and was ranked 3rd in the 2008 Ballon d'or

Fabregas is a hit back to back from Arsenal to Chelsea!!

Are we not talking about the same EPL that Salah has placed under his foot??

He couldn't do that to the SerieA or Serie P whatever they call it now!!
Preach man......pls school them on the truth.

No matter how good you are or the team you play for, you would be really lucky if you score more than 25goals per season in the epl... The likes of kane, vardy would score 40goals per season if they were playing in la liga
lol...laliga is way too easy? Joke.

Pls bro mention 5 players that have come from EPL to laliga and have dominated it exceptionally as an individual. I mean someone who developed as a player in the EPL like Ronaldo, give me four more

So would you say it was Lingard that qualified Man utd to the UCL??
of course not.....same way Messi's PK miss against Chile in the 2016 final wasn't the reason Arg lost the finals else CR7 PK miss against Barca in the semis of the 2008 UCL or his PK miss in the finals too should have cost ManU the CL trophy
SportsRe: Ronaldo Dedicates Juventus' 36th Italian Title To The Fans As He Eyes Top Scorer by Moura7(m): 9:55pm On Jul 27, 2020
I'm a Messi fan and I'll be honest.... Ronaldo is a very outstanding player and he deserves whatever accolades he's getting now. Messi too is a great player, scoring 25 goals and getting 21 assists, with the highest number of chances created is no small feat at all. Having a whole team being over dependent on you too is not easy at all. A scenario where you're arguably single handedly, the scorer, creator, playmaker, dribbler is not fun at all. Sometimes we forget trophies are achieved by teams and not by single individuals, else Ronaldo's PK miss against Barca in 2008 UCL semis would have prevented manU from reaching the finals and his PK miss in the finals shootout too would have prevented manU from winning the UCL.

Contd

It didn't take up to two minutes before a bulky dude in a two piece suit , bald head and with glasses too walked up to with a smile. I almost mistook him for a guard because of his size but when he walked to me with an apologetic smile on his face I had rethink.

"Hello, you must be Mr. Manuel. I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting this long, please don't be offended", He said with a Nigerian accent, did mention he was black too, definitely Nigerian and maybe Igbo judging from his smooth accent (lol I'm not being tribalist).
The anger I felt before had reduced significantly and right now what I just needed was to discuss how I was going to get the necessary funds I needed from inheritance so I just nodded to his apology.

"I'm sorry, my name is Nas Arinze, I'm the MD of the bank. Of you'll just follow, Wed head to the vault where the safety deposit boxes containing your key to your part of the vault is", He said as he motioned with his hand the direction we were to be headed.

As we walked , I couldn't help but notice the kind of stares I was getting, especially from the security guys, like they were profiling me or something and o could have sworn I saw this MD guy give them sort of signal or maybe I'm just being paranoid, o don't know.
We reached a big metal door where Nas punched in some codes and the door beeped before it opened and revealed a really huge room with lots and lots of boxes attached to the walls of the room. As soon as we entered the room the door closed by itself and almost immediately I found myself on the floor, my right arm stretched backwards forcefully. This dude had just attacked from no where for no reason at all.

"Now you're gonna tell me who the f***k you are and why you're trying to impersonate a Manuel", he said harshly as he twisted my arm the more.

"What are you saying, I am a Manuel, Onyekachi Manuel and....", I couldn't even finish before he twisted my arm again. The pain was too much that suddenly i remembered everything my good Russian friend in prison taught. I leant back a little giving me space to prop my legs on the wall, take some steps on the wall and perform a clean backflip, causing me to free my arm from his grip and land behind him. Without giving him time to understand what just happened, I gave a powerful punch to his throat. That caused a temporary malfunction of his windpipe as he fell to his knees , making choking sounds as he grasped his neck. I then punched him again, this time on his face causing him to blackout instantly. I slid down the wall, sighing heavily while running a hand across my face. What just happened now, I thought as I took another glance at the unconscious mountain of a man.
I crawled to where his was, searching him for any weapon, I wasn't sure I'd be able to fight him off again without any when he regained consciousness. I found a gun which I took immediately and I also spotted a tattoo on the lower part of his neck. I had seen a similar one on my grandfather while he was alive and I had always joked about it then when I was little. What are the odds that my grandfather and his accountant or MD of his bank, would have the same tattoo and at the same place too, except...... except they were family related or something, maybe friends or were part of some organization or... organization?.... the gang, the Anika clan. It all made sense now, ofcourse my grandfather would place a gangster to head his bank.
The mountain stirred at that point, and I shifted back swiftly. He groaned while touching his head and in the process he eyes landed on me and as if completely recovered, his eyes widened as realization dawned and immediately, he searched himself prolly to pull up the gun or should I call it my gun.

"Tsk tsk tsk", I beckoned as I pointed the gun at him. He stopped in his tracks and put his hands up in surrender.

"What do you want?", he growled.

"Nothing much, just my money and now I'm adding the bank too for this unruly behavior of yours. Do you twist the arms of all your customers?", he said getting up on my feet.

"You're not living here alive, there's lots of guys outside this door now as we speak, armed to the teeth", he said smiling devilishly.

"Look, I just need to get some money out of my own money and I'd be gone, no need for all these. Why don't you wanna believe I am who I say I am?"

"I just have a bad vibe about you and besides if you're truly the heir, then you'd have come sooner or I'd have seen you at the funeral of the boss and another thing, I know the heir, and you look nothing like him", he spat.

"B.S, you clearly don't know shit about me. No need to waste any more time, just show me my box or whatever so I'd do my thing".
He stood up and I positioned myself with the gun firmly in my hand, Incase he tried anything funny.

"Chill, I'm just showing you your box. Let's see how you open it, you impostor", he sneered. He pointed at a box different from the cluster of boxes on the wall. I moved further to the look at it. It had a keypad attached to it and a red light shinning on it. As I made to touch it, the mountain spoke.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, that box has been locked since like forever. It was the personal SDB of the boss while he was alive before he left it for his heir and only he knows the passkey. So if an impostor like you foolishly goes ahead and puts in the wrong password just once, the box releases a poisonous gas immediately and boom we are dead or you're dead. You see when I heard you were around, I figured another impostor had come again...oh you think you're the first to come here claiming to be Onyekachi Manuel? Hahahaha....I knew it might get to this and so I prepared", he said with a mocking smile on his face. He went to a box at the far left of the room, entered some keys and it opened , he collected something like an oxygen mask and donned it.

"So you see, if you punch in the wrong password ,you die. If you wait here, my guys would open this door by overriding it, which I'm sure they're doing now by the way and then you'll still die, so either way you die....so what's it gonna be die by gas or by gun?", he laughed.

All he said got to me I won't lie. I started panicking but I didn't show it. What if dad had made a mistake in the password he gave me and boom I'm choked to death by some poisonous gas, imagine me dying from poison...God forbid.
If I cave in now, I'd die from bullets or even get tortured first, before I'm finally killed. Oh Lord pls turn up for me this time. With my gun stilled trained on him, I punched in the keys on the keypad and hesitated a little before punching the enter key with my eyes closed , ready to accept whatever fate befell me.... TBC

The only person that might likely to be near(in this case like 1000 steps) is Neymar or Mbappe

You sound so unfortunate already. How dare you say that about Messi? Even in 100 years time, Barcelona wouldn’t be able to pay this man back for all he has done for them.
And as for you wanting him to leave for another league, well he’s used to such nonsense opinion of you idiots. Go listen to what Sergio Ramos had to say about that.
Man, he’s in the best league in the world!
#Respect brother......they haven't even stopped to ask themselves why the best players in that their self acclaimed best league always come to the laliga

Messi was not the highest goal scorer in that competition... messi missed a penalty and did not win the trophy.. yet you think he deserved the award... messi played well in that tournament, no doubt, but so did sanchez and his chile team mate...

I laughed really hard when you suggested that messi was not given the award because he 'reportedly' turned down the previous one, but yet it was okay to give him the fair play award

Tell me what modric did in 2018 that sneijder did not do and exceed in 2010
Now lemme ask you and please I want you to answer me honestly please.

You organized a tournament and two players stood out really well.

One played six games and had 3 goals and two assists and was really instrumental too to his team winning the cup. The other played five games and in those games he scored five goals and had 4 assists and he was also really instrumental to his team reaching the finals.
Now this guy missed a penalty in the shootout while the other was subbed during the game. Who would you pick as the best player of that tournament, pls and pls be sincere without sentiments to yourself....This is also open to other spectators on this thread. Answer me then I'd get back to you on the whole Modric issue... Thanks

Oga, stop sugarcoating anything, messi did not deserve the award that was given to sanchez

ronaldo won the 2013 ballon d'or because of his 'individual performance'( he scored 60+ goals that year), same way messi won the ballon dor last year because of his individual performance....

If there's any thing that needs explaining... I think its the reason why cr7 lost the ballon dor to modric while messi won the same ballon dor over sneijder despite being under similar circumstances
I'm not sugarcoating anything, ok pls tell me how Messi didn't deserve that award. Pull up the stats of that competition and show. Also tell me how Modric didn't deserve the 2018 ballond'or too

Alexis sanchez won the best player award in 2016, not messi... no outstanding player?? eduardo vargas was the highest goal scorer with 6 goals and he also won the trophy, plus those chile guys were really good... your dear old messi even missed a penalty in the shootout, the first penalty sef, baba was leading by example...

Infact the only senior individual international award messi has with argentina is the controversial 'consolation prize' 2014 WC golden ball
Would you give someone something again after he snubbed the first one you gave him before?......pls be truthful. And pls I'll like to know how Messi didn't deserve the 2014 golden ball and tell how it's different from Ronaldo's ballondor in 2013
SportsRe: Who Else Also Agrees With Me That Valverde Was Better Than Quiue Seitien? by Moura7(op): 8:38am On Jul 17, 2020
I don't think passing the ball from ter to Suarez back to ter again is Barca's philosophy at all that's not possession at all it's just playing safe waiting for the opponent to slip up before we get a go which most times do not result in a goal.. sometimes Ter has up to 50 passes completed in a match and it's just passes to pique and lenglet. We all watched barca with pep or even Tito, heck even with Enrique, now that was possession, possession that actually created chances and cut defenses open

Do you know the meaning of wear and tear?
That is what is happening to Barca. The useless Valverde rod his luck with a team that was young and agile, the league in his first season was a no brainer has madrishit where no where to be found even with Zidane. Yet you will see that during valverde time, the team lacked coaching, valverde is not a good coach at all. He messed up the team badly. He is the reason other top coaches are scared of coaching the team. Valverde is a coach scared of bringing in young players simply becos he wants to save his job.

Setien on the other hand met a team full of old players, he steadied the ship, went back to the basis of possession football.....you will see his coaching when he has a full preseason with the team and with young players. The match with Osasuna he rolled out a team full of energy, the opponent used 5-6 defenders in the match playing with a counter.
When setien came he made the players work hard in training, and the Messi Fc Caucasus guys e.g Suarez, Messi, Busquet, Rakitic, Vidal, Pique ...all fought with setien simply becos the training Regime where too tasking.
If any team with this Barca level of aged players are doomed to fail. Someone of Athletico sold Godin, Raul Garcia, Mario Suarez, all old players to bring new young player for his team yet, he didn't win the league but you could see the intensity of there game.....the way they fight for the ball.
So in a nutshell, if Barca like let them buy De Bruyne to the team, if Pique, Rakitic, Alba, Suarez and those old players are not sold....na TROPHYLESS season for 2 years be that. Simple.
.

Yeah that's true....but do you think barca has older players than juventus? yet you don't see them slacking like this all the time.
