REFLECTING AS A WAY OF LIFE - THE OPPORTUNITIES TO CARRY OUT THIS ACT AS MUSLIMS

We're at the end of the Gregorian year, 2022. Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah not necessarily because it is the end of the year as we know it globally, but because Allah has given us the opportunity to be alive. To repent. To seek Him. To do good. To be good. To be human. To be Muslim.
Alhamdulillah.

This is the season when our sisters and brothers in humanity, who practice Christianity; collectively reflect upon their Christian beliefs and values.
This time and season however have taken on a more corporate and monetary feel, not just for the Christians, but for the whole world.
We are somewhat affected by this just by observing the huge promos, sales, and discounts offered by businesses all over.
...same could be said about Islamic celebrations...

Many Muslims will argue that we have no business with this season, and they'll be right - but just to an extent.
Our lives as Muslims aren't that of hermitage or isolation from the world.
We not only communicate and interact with those who are like us, but equally so, with those who are not so much like us in values, nationality, or any marker of difference.

My reason for this post is to remind us all to utilize every opportunity to earn Hassanat and Baraka.
What do I mean?

Instead of getting into arguments and counter-arguments about the origin/history of the celebratory season, we as Muslims could utilize the time and season to reflect on the life of Maryam (R.A.) and her son, prophet Isa (A.S.).
We could read about their history to understand the convergence and divergence between Islam and Christianity.
We could spend that time in understanding the purpose of his prophethood and its implication for us as Muslims.
We could send duas upon him (A.S.), his Mother, and all other prophets for their Divine service to humanity.

These should hopefully:
Make us feel closer to them and the message of Islam.
Help align our actions to their universal message(s).
Get us closer to Allah through the acts of studying and reflecting.
Encourage us to look for opportunities to turn deserts into gardens.

Quarreling and endlessly debating with people of other faiths will only strip us of whatever good we may have earned.
We may win the current debate but at the expense of having our hearts covered with darkness.
The quest to show religious superiority is such a perilous path. Let's instead exert that energy in purifying ourselves.

"Repel by that which is better..." - Q41:34-35
"Repel the bad with what is better. We are most knowing of what they describe." - Q23:96

Abu Umamah, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said:
I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for one who abandons arguments even if he is right.

Malik ibn Anas, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Disputation about sacred knowledge causes the heart to harden and breeds hatred.

Ja’far ibn Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Beware of disputes in the religion, for they preoccupy the heart and breed hypocrisy.

So, am I suggesting in any way that Muslims celebrate these festivities? NO.

Rather, what I'm hoping for is that:
We understand that Muslims are scattered on the wide spectrum of TAQWA (God Consciousness).
Just like learning how to ride a bicycle using training wheels, let's be patient and compassionate towards those who are able to be
in this state, even if it's just once, twice or three times a year for them!

Yes, it's not ideal but we live in a non-ideal world.
It's better to have 1-3 yearly cues to move toward Allah than to have none!
If the Christmas, New Year and Easter seasons trigger a Muslim to reflect and increase his/her Iman, we say Alhamdulillah.
If Mothers and Fathers Day triggers a Muslim to be conscious and grateful to their parents and Allah, we say Alhamdulillah.

Are these ideal? NO.
Yet, we say Alhamdulillah because their remembrance and reflection are signs of life and faith.

Hopefully, we all can get to a stage in our lives when every day and everything around us become cues to be grateful to and Worship Allah
in truth, and in return earn His (S.W.A.) pleasure, and not depend on just a few days of the year, Amin.

The goal is to have our reflections grow from a mere dot to a continuum, InshaAllah.

May Allah bless us All with His Mercies, Forgiveness, and Love, Amin.
May Allah bless us all with health, wealth, and success in this world and the next, Amin.

I noticed dat wen they see ppl passing, they look into ur heart first, only Allah knows wat they see and then decide whether to follow u or not.

Their whispers are directed into the aspect of the heart called SADR (Sudoor pl.).

This is the only part/aspect of the heart that they have direct access to and not the QALB. However, their constant success over the SADR will eventually corrupt the QALB and the other aspects of the heart.
Let's just say that the SARD of someone who is not God-conscious has a certain look, feel, and texture that they can see.

They'll also look at the head because it houses the faculty of rationality (AQL), imagination (KHAYAL), and visualisation (TASSAWUR)...when they are hijacked; especially the AMYGDALA , such a person finds it difficult to think logically and regulate their emotions of anger, fear, etc. This directly affects the SADR which also undergoes such emotional states.

The information from our senses of outer perception (nose, eyes, ears, etc) are processed and its visual(s) are sent to the heart to accept or decline. A corrupt heart will accept what is corrupt and a God-conscious/ aware heart will decline because he/she applied reason and intellect. This is the importance of ISTI'ADHA. Q23:97-98.

The heart is all they are after because it is the seat of consciousness. Anyone of them who is able to extinguish the light of the heart becomes a VIP!

Like I said I hav learnt to pretend, I have learnt to stay away, not cos am scared of them but because It's annoying watching them do wat they do without doing anything. But sometimes wen am bored I take a stroll into their area (where they are more populated to observe them.

I see them following ppl and whispering in their ears, where there are gathering they go in and start whispering (I hav seen where some guys where arguing about football, as soon as I saw the whisperers going in I already know Wats gonna happen, and I was right, d argument suddenly turns to fist fight)
Some where following pple like guards, perhaps ppl dat has a protection pact with them. (of course d Jinn can't protect a tin, they can't even protect themselves from other jinns) some maybe sent to disrupt someone's life following them about, some are dat are possessed by Jinn. I once saw a madman with about six or more Jinn hovering around him, 1 were hanging on the right and left shoulder each, one at at d top of his head, front, Back sides. taking every step d mad man takes Without missing a step

But I noticed one thin, this is where d important of protection dua come in. They tried it with me all d time I will pretend am nt seeing them an watch them. As soon as they look into my heart sometimes head, they just walk away fast. Not just me with others too, and they either walk away or follow u. May Allah protect us.

So this night I went to watch soccer at a nearby hotel with a friend, while I was watching I didn't notice If they were in their with us, but as soon as we came out I was seeing them every. I told my friend who was still arguing with someone to come let's move fast. As we were going one was following us, he looked into me goto d other side and check my friend I still pretend. After walking a long distance I noticed dat d tin is still following us, i was already close to my house, so I was wondering Wats his plan? Is he waiting for us to go our separate ways or wants to follow my friend. I use style to wait, engaged my friend with a football talk. And then d jobless came to my friends and was whispering God knows wat. At dis point I couldn't pretend anymore and I said; "you do know I can see you right" he froze and stair at me in terror and surprised. I said; wat do u want? He kept mute an stair like a little kid dat was just caught live while stealing. An I told him if he doesn't leave us And I get hold of him, I will make sure he burn in d name of Allah. D idiot flee With speed. All this was happening while I was communicating with my friend and d Jinn at d same time. But he didn't knw all dis happened because communicating with jinns is like mind to mind communication no movement of lips. I never told him wat transpired tho, because dis tins scare some pple. If I had told him he may never watch night matches again.

to start with your last question, I don't know this. With respect to Qareen, you are right about that for sure. Speaking of "promise & fail", Qareen gba ebode ni (compromise)

It is very, very possible for one's qarin to be of the opposite sex...this usually happens during sexual intercourse between the parents, where jinns pertake in it, especailly for those who are careless with the recitation of dua before the act.
Those people whom you see/ hear that say they feel they are the opposite sex are the casualties of such interference.
It'll require a massive amount of self-will on their part coupled with duas /ruqya and psychoanalysis for them to be able to break free of such.
The easiest thing to do is to give in and term it "normal", which is what the society has readily adopted.
Living with it long term may bring about self-harm and possibly end their life due to frustrations from their innability to tackle it successfully.

Side question, do you think closely associating with someone (friend) you're incompatible with in the affairs of the duniya (work, business, leisure, outlook to life etc) affect you (and your Qareen) spiritually and pose obstacles to you in the affairs of Alamul-Ghaib?

Also, I feel a compromised Qareen can also affects the person's auric field as they possibly go hand-in-hand. Kindly help clarify.

Yes, sorcery is just one of the ways. Others can be through eating and drinking and both major and minor sins.
Some people will commit a minor sin and nothing happens, yet others commit it and it immediately compromises their Qarin...not all Qarins are equal.
Influence on the Qarin can be internal or external.

Yes, the people you associate with do affect it as well, and that is why you don't ever joke with the one you marry. That is half your life right there!
Think of the people you associate with as a medium. The stronger it is, the more you acquire their "flavour".
In order to acquire their flavour, your "gate" will have to be open. Your gate being your AURA (Daairat).
When one's Qarin is compromised, the aura becomes (Daairat As-Saaw).

The symptoms are diverse and can't be painted with a general brush.
Some people don't even know that what they are experiencing is a symptom and they just go about their daily lives as if nothing is happening!
It'll require a very high level of presence and self-awareness to understand what is happening to one's self.
We live in a very BUSY world which doesn't help matters.
One suggestion would be to take a few minutes (especially at bedtime) to go through your day and play everything that happened.
With time, you'll begin to sense what's off, no matter how insignificant it may appear.

What these jinn associates used is molded figure or a carve out figure from wooden material. They can conjure their jinn and that victim into it for purpose of controling the victim or remote harm etc.

Yes, very true it may not be common, but occurring enough to raise one's eyebrows. The people involved don't even know themselves, yet their stories share the same commonality of pure black goat...
As the world is now, there's nothing that can't be used - it's only a question of knowing HOW to hack it!

I have a question and hope that anyone who is knowledgeable about this subject could shed some light on it, please.

There are instances where people remote their victims using black goats , meaning that they speak their
intentions on that goat and its effect manifests on the victim wherever s/he may be in the world.
This goat is usually reared within the compound of the perpetrator and always, almost never out of sight!

@ emekaRaj wrote many pages back about a man who was spiritually tied via a goat....he and his mum went visiting and he decoded what was happening to the man...

1. why - in your opinion - is a goat usually used
for such activities?

2. why is the stipulation always a pure black goat?

May Allah forgive and have mercy on his soul amin. It was so shocking and entire Ilorin metropolis was thrown into mourning on Saturday.

The heavy downpour on Friday night was so much that it blocked the mini bridge at akerebita area near Abbatoir that causes his SUV to fell inside the river because of poor visibility and narrowness on bridge at late hours. They would have atleast rescue people in the car but it happened late in the night when people are indoor and no immediate eye witness. It was the following morning they discovered their vehicle inside the river. It was very painfully.

May Allah bless his soul and grant him Aljannatul firdaus amin.

This is sad!
Another reminder for us all that death may come unannounced, most times.

I have some questions to ask and I know you will do justice to the questions.

1A person was told to wash his hand after eating swallow(okele) into the plate of soup and drink the water water to cure cowardice and timidity. Another was told to mix some item (all halal)together and wash his hands with them early in the money to stop wastefulness in spending. The above mentioned processes do not involve incantations or calling on jinns.
My question is are this "charms" allowed in Islam and through which agent do they act?

What is the back story to this story? Do you personally know the persons who did these acts? If yes? What did they say to you about their situations?
I don't believe that anyone here know who they are or their situations.
You seem to be the closest person to them directly or indirectly, so it would be nice to learn more about their situations from you.

2 The symbols called seven sigils,is it allowed for a Muslim to use them and what is their origin?

interesting! Caveat: I am not an expert in dream interpretation but just want to try, so you may not take it seriously.

Firstly, the first question came in affirmative, which shows that there is possibility that your thoughts at one point might have get into your subconscious, and the result is what you have seen!

Secondly, though seeing dream at midnight still carry weight, but I am expecting it to be towards fajr time which would lend more weight to the authencity of the dream .

Thirdly, seeing an obscene sort of in a dream is more likely from Satan inspire dream. There are ways Allah will reveal things to you without involving such Haram thing. I will give example later.

Moreso, if anyone have seeing similar dream or it has repeatedly seen by you, it would have lend a good support to it, but for the fact the answer is no. Then it likely point to prank of Satan or from within yourself.

Lastly, From my own deduction that dream is most likely Your own fictment of imagination not necessarily divinely inspired.

Let me give you a similar anecdote that happened to me back them in school. I was attracted to this sister and vice versa towards the end of my UG program.

Then I started observing solat istikhara. Not once, but continuously doing it because I wanted to receive a cognate and definitive answer before making the move. Alhamdulilah! after several days I dreamt that I saw this sister in a dream and I was like calling her to come but she bluntly rejected my call, immediately I raised my hands and said " All praise be to Allah would has not led me into any relationship with this sister " then I woke up.

You can see the msg is somewhat passed without necessarily involving any obscene. But Pls still do more prayers on it and also ask the brother involve to continue doing istikhara perhaps the msg will become clearer. I am only sharing my thoughts, so pls take it with pinch of salt. Allahu Allam

There are some things which you may need to be aware of from your number 1 answer, such as:

1. Your subconscious is a warehouse of all sorts. You'd be amazed at what it can pull out when you least expect it to.

2. She may be as you "think"/"suspect" her to be, or she may not be so!

3. You need to reflect within and ask yourself if the way you saw the issue that took place then was coloured by your
upbringing or biases, etc.
An example would be classifying ANY lady who chews gum as a prostitute! This is very real and a lot of people think this way!
Most of them don't really know why they think so, but just that it was what they grew up being told by those around them, and
they have carried that with them and it expresses itself when they meet ladies in that scenario.
Now imagine such a person having a dream that a particular lady they know to chew gum often was seen with different men!
There is nothing under the sun you would use to convince them that it is just a dream based on their deep sentiments...afterall,
they saw her with men in their dream!
This is the power of the subconscious mind and it is where WASWAS takes place, because you are not directly aware of it,
hence the ease for Shaitan to program such thoughts without any resistance from you.

I am hammering on this point because until you sit with yourself and ask WHY you think/feel this way about the said lady,
you will alway habour these dark and most often unspoken thoughts towards her.
You may even be surprised to learn a thing or two about yourself and how you see things, so that would be a growth opportunity
for you!

Killing the thought is not enough. You need to interrogate yourself on the WHY because the failure to do so will see you
express what you have respressed (which you though you had killed) in very surprising ways!

Ladunal is very right regarding your answer to question #2. The last third of the night before Salat Fajr is where you'd most surely encounter
true dreams; and not just a one off.

Your question #3 answer is a dead giveaway that your dream is most likely a SHAITANI or NAFSANI dream.
As Ladunal pointed out, there wouldn't be any need for such explicit graphics were it from your Rabb.
Another giveaway would be the way it makes you feel when you wake up...most probably a feeling of agitation, nausea, disgust, hatred, etc.
One from your Rabb gives a feeling of quiet certainty, reassurance, calmness, peace, etc.

I would advise that you ask Allah to make things clearer for you regarding your friend's choice and have other close people you can trust also commit to having Allah reveal the true nature of things to them, Amin.

MashaAllah! That is very wonderful and this buttresses the importance of engaging your child/children from an early age.
It is always easier to make a tree face the direction desired as long as it is "anchored" in that said direction as a very young and pliable plant.

Interesting question sheikhana.

Alhamdulilah as far as no 2 is concern, I can't do without it.It has somewhat become part and pasu of me. If I go without it for a day or two days it will be like my world as turn up side down Lolz. I mean I will just be literally unhappy and unfulfilled no part how well I tried. It has become coolness and source of sakinah for me. So even I didn't complete the whole in a day or night. I must recite it daily. I hope to continue it for life Infact Allah made so demanding for me that I just have to read either I like it not because that when my soul feel refreshed as side my prayers and tilawat Quran.

MashaAllah!!! I pray that Allah enables you to continue on this path till the very end, Amin.

For no 1 I am still struggling alot, not that of laziness but seems lack of commitment and zeal to do it to a mark difference!. Though I do recite it daily now but I want something like 5k or 10k on regular basis for considerable number of days like 165 days like I do for kallimat shaada.

InshaAllah. May Allah facilitate the strength, means and time for you, Amin.

As for the no 3 that's goal. I just want to up speed no 1 to a level of no 2 now so that be doing both with ease.

May the strength and means be made available to you accordingly from Allah, Amin.

And also as per advice of my sheikh, infact the last instructions given as per last encounter is that of no 3; doing salawat atta yaomalikiyamoh. But specifically prescribed no 1 for me when I asked him about tawasul.

I always feel guilty that I haven't done enough justice for no 1.

May Allah expand your time accordingly, Amin.

LONG TERM COMMITMENT TO SALAT AL FATIHI OR/AND DALAIL AL KHAIRAT AND WHY?

Salam Alaikum to Everyone.

This question is for Shaikh Empiree, Ladunlal and anyone conversant with this topic.

Would you rather commit daily to the recitation of :
1. Salat Al Fatihi daily and for life?
or
2. Dalail Al khairat daily and for life?
or
3. Both of them for daily and life?

Kindly answer with your reasons for choosing 1, 2 or 3.

For me personally, I would go with #1 because I do not have the time to commit to both #2 and #3.
Also, the mastery of #1 enable one recite it swiftly and smoothly while #2 is not the case.

I have seen some people who were not able to keep to their daily commitment to #2 because of its length.

Please contribute with your responses and thank you.

This Salawat is called "Salawat Badariyah", was originally composed in Indonesia back in 1960s by KH. Ali Manshur Sidiq. Salat al-Badriyya is a poem composed by Indonesian scholar and poet Shaykh Ali Mansur Siddiq Bashaiban X (d. 1391/1971) in praise of the Prophet ﷺ and the companions martyred in the Battle of Badr. It is commonly known as Sholawat Badar in Indonesia where it holds a very special status. It is usually referred to as “Salatullah Salamullah” in other parts of the world.

Ameen. For now I can't be present. Is there anything I can do for now? Like special prayers? The humans harming me are very wicked and stubborn. From my experiences and dreams Allah revealed to me, I know their names though I don't remember physical contact with them. They hold grudge of something I didn't know I did. I did Astagfirullah several times and soul search but I realized jealousy and fear was the problem and their motivation.

Once this humans are dealt with and removed physically and spiritually the jinn and attack will stop. That's what Allah has shown me several times. But I do not know the exact prayer to do because they are a mixture of Muslims and celestial church people and true muslims are afraid of them and they blasphemy the names of Allah and say Allah cannot do anything for me. I do not give up and I keep trusting Allah and I have seen the power of Allah but I need guidance in my prayers. So once Allah teaches these humans a lesson, the jinn goes too.

So I need a prayer for the humans. All the Alfas I consulted said so too but for the fact that they tried to harm me too. So the problem inshallah is wicked human holding grudge for nothing I did. They just want me to be useless and unsuccessful and to control my spirit.

Movado19 have you come across the details of al-hallaj story before?, an interesting one indeed that reveal the different spiritual state/awareness even among elites Sufis.

Al-Hallaj was truly a Wali of Allah who got inebriated by the Divine Presence!
Surely, the things which he uttered can be classed as violation of Sharia, and rightly so!
He was a "mad" man/lunatic to the outer world (as is normally the case) but to those who know what it means to "taste"
AL HAQQ AL YAQIN, they understood him perfectly.

Q08:17 was what was continuously being displayed in his life and utterances, which disrupts normalcy.
Some have actually classed him as a MAJZUB, because these kinds of people when followed, can lead others
to depart from their faith, hence the saying: "Al Majzub La Ya Murshida." such people cannot see Allah's creation as all they see in ONLY Allah.They cannot guide others to become Arif bi'llah as they are not Kamil shaikh/ Wali Kamil , meaning that there should be a perfect balance of shariah and haqiqqah...Al-Hallaj's case was an overbearing domination of haqiqqah reality which seemed as if it was going against the shariah. He was a Majzub Salik.
The are so many Wali Allah who experience profound realities yet are able to keep it together...this is an aspect of the nature of one's soul composition, which is another matter entirely...

Allah's promise in the hadith qudsi below became fulfilled in the life of Al Hallaj as:

"...When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something]of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about seizing the soul of My faithful servant - he hates death and I hate to hurt him.”
- Bukhari

In essence:
“So remember Me and I will remember you.
Be thankful to Me, and never ungrateful.”
- Quran 2:152.

Al-Hallaj was a consumate Zaakir who got completely engulfed and in a constant state of fanaa and in such a state, ones speech/utterance is hard to digest by the public as what is said is a direct witnessing, hence the need not to divulge what one sees/witnesses WITHOUT the permission ITHN of Allah to do so, else His creation will come against you, which was the case of Al-Hallaj!

May Allah sanctify him and wipe off his errors and grant him the highest level of Jannah in the company of the Lovers of Allah, Amin.

Hardrat Musa(as) actually practiced the third option when he helped the two sisters to water their sheep's by not demanding any things but rather asked Allah for any assistance from him right their immediately after task Q28:24, but ironically telling Hardrat Khidr(as) to take wages for his work?

Also, how would you class this kind of fear Hardrat Musa(as) had in Q28:21

I will InshaAllah start with Q:28:21 :
Musa (A.S.) was running away due to the incident with the Egyptian because he knew the action that would be taken against him.
The fear he experienced is very natural as we all experience it too, which is that we see something which is very harmful and because we know its final outcome should it get to us, then we become afraid and seek means to distance ourselves from it or reach safety, such as an attack from a rabid dog, being attacked by a crocodile or lion, running away from armed robbers, etc.
This type of fear is known as Al khawf At-tabi'i (natural fear).

Note: Prophet Musa (A.S.) wasn't yet a prophet during this phase of his life, so he would experience emotions of anxiety and fear as other people too.

In Q:28:24 , Musa helped the two sisters and did not demand for payment and immediately asked Allah for any help/relief because:
- he (A.S.) was known to be a very chivalrous man and asking - especially women - for money wasn't/ isn't part of chivalry.
- his act was sadaka ahead of asking Allah for help/relief. This is part of where the lesson and adab to perform sadaka before
asking Allah for something is learnt from.
- Also, he did what is known as FI SABIL ALLAH (for the sake of Allah), which is a form of J!had An Nafs.
- Allah immediately accepted his dua by one of the sisters speaking well about him to her father (prophet Shuaib A.S.) who then
asked to bring Musa (A.S.) to him.
- He was blessed to learn/do Khidma from a prophet of Allah.
- He was blessed by Allah with the marriage to one of the prophet's daughters.

- Musa (A.S.) came to that place in a state of fright/flight for his life and anyone in such a state has no appetite for the material things in life.
All the person is strongly yearning for is to be spared and protected by Allah, so we can see from his voyage with Khidr when juxtaposed with
that of the sisters, that he was in two completely different states.
1. state of flight/fright - became more aware of himself and Allah as his only source. And according to Q28:21, he was in a state of
Muraqaba (vigilance). Truly, someone in this state is so vigilant that life's pleasantries make no meaning to such a person.
2. state of rest/ non-flight - he became less aware as there was no imminent danger and as such, one in this state would most likely indulge in
the good things of life.

There is a saying that goes: "Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship."
A lot of people forget themselves and even Allah when all is going okay in their lives. The Quran also attests to this Q31:31-32

3. With the sisters, he had not attained prophethood, so there is a level of expectation from him as a human.
With Khidr, he was already a prophet, and so, there is higher level of expectation from him.

A lot of the older and past sheikhs will say something like:
"what is accepted for the everyday person becomes a degree of sin or darkness for an elite."
Meaning, to whom much is given, much is also expected.
An ordinary person can have expectations from people/things but the Salik cannot be this way. His/her expectations should
be fully in Allah, whether in a state of constraint or ease.
The higher one's station, the higher his/her Ihsan will/should be.

Musa (A.S.) got his prophethood when he was drawn by the fire/light and as a reminder of his station, Allah said to him:
" Ya Musa! have no FEAR. For truly in my presence, those called as messengers have NO FEAR ! Q27:10
And that is why fear and anxiety are stumbling block/darkness for the Salik. A guide with experience (Khidr) will help
expose your fears and also help in overcoming them, because what the sight beholds during ascension is tremendous indeed...
And with respect to his position/station, it does not befit Musa (A.S.) to have those layers of darkness hovering over him/his life.

It is interesting to note that his expectation from people did not reveal itself prior to being a prophet, when he helped the sisters and in a state
of dire need, rather, it manifested after he became a prophet of Allah and wasn't being chased for his dear life!
This goes to show that no one should rest on their laurels and think that they are safe or know it all, no matter the person's position.
Also, every situation, in ease or in difficulty, is a test from Allah, and as such, one should always be in a state of Muraqaba (vigilance).

May Allah be with us all, have mercy on us all and overlook our shortcomings, Amin.

1. Grief of the past (huzn).
- Only those who die disobedient to Allah and RasulAllah (S.A.W.) should expect to be in a state of grief and fear Q03:153.

2. Fear/anxiety about the future (khawf).
- Those who are tyrannical (as a result of inducing fear in others) shall taste of grief over what they have done and are anxious and fear what they will face in front of Allah. Q10:83.
- The end of Pharoah the tyrant as he fears the sight of what lays ahead of him Q10:90.

3. Expectation from people as well as expecting rewards and/or praises. This is the hardest to overcome.
- Story of Musa (A.S.), Khidr and the wall. Q18:77.
- Giving up what you love and not expecting to be rewarded nor praised for it. Q:76:09

A Muslim who aspires to be a Mumin and then Muhsin should / must eradicate this problem with the help of a Murshid (guide).
This is not about self-help or going to workshops as seen in the west but has to do with the spiritual state of the heart, hence the need for a spiritual guide.

You must believe in:
- Allah
- His Last prophet and messenger as well as the past prophets and messengers
- His Angels and the unseen worlds
- His books
- Heaven and Hell
- The last day
- Qadha Wa Qadr

The one who abides by the above shall have no grief nor fear.

You must/aspire to be:
- be a Mumin/Muhsin
- establish Salat
- give Zakat
- submit your will to Allah
- kill your Nafs for the sake of Allah
- have taqwa of Allah
- willing to reform yourself
- obedient to Allah, His last prophet, and those in divine authority
- be righteous
- spend in secret and/or in public (without showing off)
- have a good expectation of Allah always (Husn Ad-Dhan Billah)

The one who embodies the above shall have no grief nor fear, nor do they expect praises or rewards.
