Empiree:No, she doesn't have any physical kids, and she never mentioned having kids in his realm either. |
Empiree:To somewhat buttress on this phenomenon/point: I personally know of a lady who never goes broke because of the jinn husband. He provides her with money whenever she's broke. He promised to be there for her every wants and needs, provided she doesn't "cheat" on him by marrying a human man, but later down the line, he modified it to be that: she can date other men but no marriage. then to she can marry but he will always have to partake in their sexual intercourse! She is very aware of his presence in her life and is not afraid because according to her, he has been in her family for a very long time and he takes care of her wants and needs! Family members who tried ruqyah on her some time back were seriously dealt with by this her "husband". As of now, she said she's not interested in letting him go because he provides all she wants/needs! She does date human men but within her, she knows it is heading nowhere! |
Alhajiemeritus:Salam Alaikum and Jumma Mubarak, Alhajiemeritus and Everyone. @ Alhajiemeritus, could you please expand further on this, please? No doubt, this is a contentious topic but it would be very beneficial to learn from others' point of view/reasons. Thank you. |
Empiree:LOL! I wish so too!You are welcome. |
Empiree:That's on page 30 of this thread, I believe:

There is no doubt certain knowledge should be classified and not divulge. It would have been appropriate such knowledge remain confine within a circle where those that we share or read it should have the capacity to absorb it without much rigour. The Holy Prophet(sae) do not share some certain knowledge with some of his companions because he knew that is not really "important" for them and he do share some that even the companion deem fit not to be general share at a time so that it can't be misconstrued, a case of declaration of saying Kallimat Sahada guaranteed Paradise in which Umar cautioned that might lead people to laziness comes to mind. Huthaifah(ra) was single out for certain info that holy prophet (saw) didn't share with others sahabis and he vowed never to divulge it because such is not meant for public. Also, Abu hurairah(ra) said if were to divulge some of the knowledge he would be stoned. So this shows that some certain knowledge is better NOT written down because it will cause more damage than benefit, such is the Ibn Arabi books. Yes, as with most things, there are the positives and negatives, so with books, there isn't much control on who could lay their hands on such information, thereby misusing them. Infact from my deduction Ibn Khaldun is only making a general fatwa on the danger of following books when it come to his third cycle of Muhajadat Kashf. I would have love him to juxtapose his opinion and that of Ibn Arabi on any contensius issue, bring out the evidence where the later is false, but he resulted in fatwa of outright condemnation. And you see the line of arguments normally follows by the sort of scholars is the same, outright rejection of any hadith the orthodox bring in support of their view. But the truth is, they will never understand the true import of such knowledge unless they toe such path. A case of Prophet Musaänd Hardrat Khidr comes to mind. Take also the meeting of Ibn Rushd and Ibn Arabi , the former clearly see the difference in their pursuit of the truth but acknowledge the supperiority of the later. That's what I sought too, and I felt he swayed more towards some form of confirmation bias and never suggested any sound alternatives to his proposed fatwas and astringent condemnation of those personalities. Had he proposed alternatives, then that would have been better. But just as you stated, one who has not towed such path can't understand the import of such knowledge. ...the inability to relate with such deeper knowledge naturally brings about such resentment. But it is a fact that an intuitive knowledge that come thru Kashf would always superior to rationality, because ilham is a step further just like revelation is superior of all, and the case of Wahy Matlu - Holy Quran no be here, that can't even be compare with any other class of wahy. Such is the gradation of divine truth which I firmly believe in that hirachical order. ...the likes of Ibn Abbas realizes and stop shot of criticism unlike Ibn Khaldun. There must thorough understand of dichotomy in those knowledgeable and there space of usefulness. If ibn Khaldun has limited he criticism on the danger of such spreading without generally condemning it to be destroyed would have been a constructive criticism. But you see who is been spare of later Muslims criticism if not only the Holy Prophet (saw) even the Sahaba are not spare from later day scholars. So I take the views with pinch of salt. Q.E.D. Thank you for your analysis! |
Alhajiemeritus:Thank you for replying and I look forward to reading more of your views on this. Do you believe that there are instances that requires one to have a living Sheikh or it's just not necessary in your view? |
Empiree:Thank you for your reply, and yes, I am yet to see any profession or anything worthwhile that doesn't require a guide. Even Angel Jibril was deputed by Allah for the Prophets and messengers! |
LadunaI:Do you think in your view, that the likes of Ibn Arabi and Co. should have just left the transmission of this class of knowledge as it were (oral and murshid to murid) and not make them easily available as it seems to be now? If yes, then how would you factor in those with this specialty knowledge passing away and it not being transmitted to the next generation? Yes, even Ibn Arabi said so in his Futuhat that what he had penned down was a drop and that no human language could adequately relay one's experiences, states, etc. I believe Ibn Arabi and Co. were not fairly or kindly dealt with by Ibn Khaldun, because firstly, this type of knowledge wasn't and is still not meant for everyone. I do not believe that these men were trying to make converts or believers of everyone. They were catering to that niche group who could relate to their level and not the entire people. I believe that Ibn Khaldun was too cerebral, and tried to over-intellectualize a lot of the phenomena... Just as you could have a Wali of Allah break down what LAILLAHA ILALLAH means to one in a 2 volume book based on their experiences and stations and this could leave most people dumbfounded, so also I believe that Ibn Khaldun did not and could not understand the concept of WAHDAT AL WUJUD of Ibn Arabi; because though they are both Muslims under the umbrella of Islam and believe in LA ILLAHA ILALLAH, one understood it even further, in degrees way superseding the level of that time or even of this present time. Honestly, there is no way the likes of Ibn Arabi could have been ordinary when one looks at the events before his birth and also how he lived his life to the very end! May Allah bless them all as well as Ibn Khaldun, for I believe that this verse in Surah Al Kahf - Q18:68 played out to the T when one views Ibn Khaldun's stance...he was super brilliant at his professions, but Allah gives knowledge in varying degrees and to whomsoever He likes. |

Salam Alaikum And Jumma Mubarak to Everyone. @ Alhajiemeritus, Empiree, LadunaI, Hkana, littleguy444, yasolan, Excel70, and everyone who wants to contribute, what's your take on: 1. Having a Living Shaikh in order to grow spiritually. Is it a necessity or not so much? 2. Ibn Khaldun's stance/criticism regarding the likes of Ibn Arabi, Al Buni, et al? Please read the attachment and I look forward to interesting/ diverse views. Please don't me to "summarize" oh! ![]() It's only 30 pages. |
Empiree:@ bold: very true. Also, the Yoruba language once used to be read and written in Yoruba Ajami. This became somewhat lost with the emergence and the colonization of Africa by the Europeans and the West in general. What is surprising to me though is how intact the Hausa Ajami is to date, so much so that you find the indigenes reading diverse books that have been translated into their own Ajami version. Maybe it's just a case of one tribe being more resolute in the face of oppression? I don't know, but it's interesting, to say the least. |
Empiree:Hmm! What a piercing and accurate insight! |
Empiree:Salam Alaikum Shaikh Empiree and Everyone. Honestly, I wish that I could like what you wrote up there a million times! A lot of people just believe that EVERYTHING has to be written word-for-word in the Quran before they accept it! How many times has Allah mentioned that there is no community He has not sent prophets to?...just looking at their body of knowledge will enable you to realize the truth in this. |
LadunaI:Correct, I'm in my early forties. |
LadunaI:Na'am. I'm a woman. |
Alhajiemeritus:Al Bunni certainly wasn't the first or only person, but he is unique because he created a Magnus Opus, a compendium of Ruhanniy knowledge, which wasn't just taught verbally from teacher to student but was now in the form of a book with copies handed down across generations. He was successful in large part because of the Era of intellectual liberty/freedom which he found himself in. People were thirsty for knowledge and thus travelled great distances to acquire such. Despite the air of liberty that pervaded his time, such works were still guarded and not divulged to the masses, except for those who had undertaken such spiritual journeys/travels and could be vouched for by thier peers or teachers, as well as understood the nuances therein. Jabir Ibn Hayyan was a century or so before Al Bunni, and his body of work was later "anglicized" as PICATRIX to the Latin - and to date - the English-speaking audience has definitely been bastardized, removing Allah as Godhead and trying as much as possible to divorce its Islamic roots. Kitab Al Bulhan (Book of Wonders) came into the scene after Al Bunni. It is of the same persuasion as the Shams Al Ma'rif. Truly, there are a lot of duas out there and a case could be made for it as being so due to the height of Islamic Scholarship during those centuries/periods. Everything about their lives revolved around Allah, so you would find, say, a mathematician who understood the deeper meaning of numbers and their effects on a person's psychology, etc. Also, a lot of books that were obscure to the English-speaking masses are now being translated into English, so it would seem that these duas are "springing from nowhere". We still need to exercise caution with anything that comes our way though. Magic squares from my limited knowledge was taught to Prophet Idris (A.S.) It's part and parcel of Islamic spiritual science, but with everything, it has also undergone perversion of some kind in certain quarters. That notwithstanding, we cannot say because it is used by certain folks for certain things which are unwholesome, then we do away with it completely! Are we going to do away with statistics because some people boldly use it to tell lies and distort people's perceptions of the true reality of events? No! Rather, I believe a more balanced approach would be to understand the fundamental concepts of anything and be versed in spotting its perversion/abuse, even if we never get to personally apply such sciences. As long as there is night, there will be day. Good and evil. Immaculate and perversion, Hot and cold. Wet and dry. Sweet and Bitter. Soft and hard, etc. |
Empiree:Thank you for this video, and this man has spoken the truth. There is much wisdom and goodness in the diverse advice/admonitions given to us by RasulAllah (S.A.W.). Science verifies and validates Allah's Truth, sooner or later. |
Alhajiemeritus:Salam Alaikum and Jumma Karim. Dua Jaljalut has elements of the Suryaniyyah language in it. This is the language purported to be spoken by Prophet Adam (A.S.) and it is still being spoken by a few individuals, especially those versed in the spiritual science, (Ilm Ruhaniy). It is also a language understood and spoken by angels as well as eminent personalities in the Jinn world. The dua is a form of tawassul to Allah, as well as a means to request from Allah through the Quran itself, names of Allah, RasulAllah (S.A.W.), the special broken letters, and Khatim Sulaiman. On whether the dua" attracts Jinns", my answer is that you are basically asking Allah to throw open the gates of His blessings and favours to you in such a way through means of his diverse agencies, so everything in obedience to Allah will be attracted to you, Jinn or otherwise. This definitely requires the watchful guidance of a Sheikh versed in this science. Regarding the book, Shams Al Ma'rif by Al Bunni (Ibn Arabi's contemporary), there is no book that cannot be adulterated, save the Quran. There are already diverse copies of this book of his, but I hear that the original can still be traced, though with much difficulty. Those very old Alfas/sheikhs know the difference between the original and the copies, as this is what has been passed down either through teachers or generation to generation within certain families. |
Lekzytlekzydu:Salam Alaikum. @ Lekzytlekzydu, you have tried to say so much in very few words, but it still doesn't relay much, except that you want everyone to keep away from Mr. Ikupakuti based on dua he gave to you and what you subsequently encountered. I do not believe that you came here to purposely tarnish his image, especially as he isn't here to defend himself, but you are clearly overwhelmed by what you have experienced, hence your warning note to all, based on your Alfa's diagnosis of your situation. Could you please take your time to narrate in detail how this all began and how you got in contact with Ikupakuti, who hasn't been here in years? Did this happen years back while he was still active here? What was your spiritual practice prior to this incident? I would suggest that you read and digest page 13 of this thread in order to gain an understanding of what happened to you. Truly, everyone's spirit is not the same as some may be stronger than others for certain things. Even the recitation of Bismillahi Rahmanir Rahim will yield different results for different people. You cannot engage with a muscle car the way you would your regular cars...you need some level of training, practice, and know-how. What you experienced was a HEALING CRISIS - a spiritual healing crisis, where you feel worse off before you feel better. Did you sacrifice/ do sadaka during this period? Was it only Surah Yasin you recited for 19x ? How many days was this meant for and when/how did you begin to notice/see changes? Also, you need to be aware that the expertise of Alfa's/spiritual guides varies much. Not every one of them knows everything concerning spirituality like that. Some are just specialized in a certain area and that's it. It may be that the one you contacted gave such a verdict based on his own level of knowledge...remember that most people would attribute evil to what they do not understand or fully comprehend! I pray that you are feeling much better now and no, there is nothing evil about Surah Yasin or any part of the Quran for that matter. Allah Himself has said it is a healing and mercy to the believers...Q17:82. Allah says it is a healing, guidance, and mercy for believers...Q10:57 ...and so many other verses extolling the virtues of the Quran. Please explain further so we all can also learn from your experience. Thank you. |
Empiree:You see, these Sufi people are well vast. They are the Islamic scientists then and now. I hope we can bring back this golden age even if it doesn't look like that of golden age. I know a lot of people would be grossly offended that you termed them "Islamic Scientists", but the truth is that they are exactly that and more, as Allah pleases. They are the divers who have gone deep into the depths of the oceans of knowledge and brought to mankind valuable and everlasting gems. They are the torch bearers who enable those who wish to see, the light of Islam. I believe that the society we live in today does not foster the way to that path easily...indolence, laziness and ignorance are widely celebrated. You become an enemy if you make them think a little beyond their present capacity! We still have Muslims around even in Yorubaland with these islamic sciences. But unfortunately there is powerful force that appears to suppress Islamic spirituality right there in Nigeria. Na'am! It almost resembles the mass release of zombies as seen in some movies. The light is dimming in a lot of places, so you see so-called Muslims who are in reality "empty" in the inner. They frown upon spirituality and gladly embrace "group-think". This is in part due to a silent culture of despising anything aged, so you see the younger ones who belittle every and anything said by the older Shaikhs/Sufis; and in turn, the older ones have decided to keep shut, mind thier business and just watch the ignorants harm themselves. I am amazed that the frequent deaths of a lot of the older generation Sufis/Shaikhs does not rattle them to their bones! Knowledge is being drastically extinguished and the one-eyed man has become king in the land of the blind! There was one of the videos in Yoruba, I believe, by this same young Shaikh and he made mention of how masquerades came into a masjid and heavily attacked the people in there, including their Imam...he made mention of the fact that this could never have happened with the Shaikhs of old as they readily had and knew what to recite from the Quran against such oppressors, as now, everything is now termed haram, bida, unislamic, ebo ebo ebo, etc. He said it is very shameful how masquerades just had a field day with Muslims inside a whole masjid for that matter, so making such people bolder in the future to carry out even bigger attacks! To me, this is a classical case of Muslims who are now nothing but paper tigers...very easy to destroy! The only thing they do is 'sheikh xyz said. this and that said'. They do not think and if you come up with different opinion, you get tagged mubtadi. Video of Sheikh Adam went viral recently where he said "you are not scholar as long as you continue to say "sheikh lagbaja so pe, tafsir ibn xyz so pe". "Instead, why dont you come up with your research and come up with your own proofs?" Honestly, if one is firmly grounded and established in practicing Islam, whatever name they choose to call you should not even affect you negatively. The same people abusing you will be the same ones to crawl your way to seek solutions to their problems. Research is far from such people's minds. It is always easier to critisize and put down others. It takes nothing to destroy and a lot to build! My prayer is that most, if not everyone on this thread, should at least desire to acquire knowledge in complete humility! Do not look dowm on anyone because society deems it cool to do so now! Do not be quick to pick the mic and sing the bida song. Pray against spiritual blindness and deafness due to ignorance and arrogance. Our chief request to Allah is to be blessed with His light of knowledge, understanding, wisdom, insight, and foresight. Because the one who has all these is verily able to properly manage all or most of the blessings from Allah. Learn to carry out independent research and fight the spirit of indolence and laziness. As Shaikh Empiree mentioned some pages back, begin to befriend these older Shaikhs/Alfas/Sufis to gain priceless knowledge from them. |
Empiree:When sheikh Muhammad Mustafa Ashile (ra) talked about seven (7) Adam's before our Adam many thought he was insane. As long as these men aren't speaking from the four walls of "IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS", then whatever they say is never taken seriously. Some asked for scientific proof and Qur'an evidence. ...people forget that the so-called science they are familiar with is practically playing catch-up with reality. A lot of what Allah unveiled to these men/Awliyah will take science hundreds of years to "discover". And as you stated earlier about Ijtihad, people do not want to employ it, rather they believe everything about everything should be stated verbatim in the Quran. Alfa Ahmed Shorinola gave us something trip ponder on He sure did. I enquired from him how he arrived at his conclusion about Pre-Adamic man being cannibals/vampires and according to his words: "I was led to the conclusion that they were cannibals by their descriptions of (blood-shedding and destruction)". Truly, blood-shedding could encompass various means and types, so I leave it at that, Allahu 'Alam. Jazakallahu khayran for this link Wa Iyyak. |
Empiree:Naam! 100% Regarding the bolded, independent and critical thinking is something that is seriously frowned upon today, hence the mass mental laziness seen everywhere. Here's a little read collating some of our predecessors' views on Pre-Adam... https://medium.com/@ryanhunter_23073/classical-islamic-saints-and-scholars-on-the-existence-of-previous-human-species-and-a5c1375565a2

I wish so too!
Alfa also means Gift and familiarity. There is always strong relationship btw Yoruba and Arabs
