Still, while all that good stuff is true, there are a lot of fallacies running around out there, and following them may be stopping you in your fitness tracks. MYTH #1: Cardio, cardio, and more cardio is the fastest ticket to weight loss.
FACT: Hours logged on those fast-paced gym machines are a sure-fire way to melt off the weight—after all, it’s calories in versus calories out, right? Well, yes, but… “You may lose weight faster doing cardio only, but unfortunately it’s the wrong kind of weight,” says Kansas City-based personal trainer Greg Justice. Cardio alone burns away both fat and muscle. For a lasting change, you have to integrate strength workouts into your routine. “Weight training builds lean muscle mass, which elevates your metabolism and burns more fat, even when you’re not exercising,” says Justice. He recommends Metabolic Resistance Training, a hybrid method in which weight training is done at a fast pace, with minimal rest. One example of this double whammy: Kettlebell training.

MYTH #2: If you don’t have at least an hour to commit to the cardio gods, it’s not worth it.
FACT: Flat-out not true. All body movement has benefits in terms of calorie burn. What you can change, though, is how efficiently you burn them. “You may be able to do steady-state cardio longer, and burn more calories during that time, but the key is what happens after your workout,” says Justice. “By doing high intensity interval training – HIIT, which means you incorporate intense periods of work with short recovery, your metabolism is elevated and you’ll be burning calories for up to 38 hours after your HIIT workout is completed.” If you prefer to pray at the altar of the treadmill, take heart. “The American Heart Association says that doing three 20-minute sessions of cardio at a vigorous intensity [like running] is the equivalent of doing five 30-minute sessions at a moderate level [like fast walking],” says exercise scientist Wayne Westcott, Ph.D. Even 10 minutes at a high intensity is beneficial. And a recent study suggests that short, infrequent bouts of slow running can do your heart good. So no excuses that you don’t have the time!

Gosh where do I start? My heart is racing…I still can’t believe it. I have prayed for it to happen for 17 years. At some point, I stopped praying about it because nothing changed, things only got worse.

My elder sisters called for a meeting, and between us, we wanted to reconcile my mum and dad but we didn’t tell them about it. I was so afraid. I wondered if they would come or if our plans to bring them back together would work. So, three days before the meeting, I started praying about it. I started imagining them together. I was just doing everything by faith.

On Sunday morning, I had cold feet. I was so afraid. “God, please do it this time”, was my prayer when I entered my late sister’s house for the meeting.
It was a VERY long process but yaaaaaaaay THEY MADE UP ��� They hugged each other and looked into each other’s eyes and started laughing. Then my mum started crying and my siblings and I joined in the tears of joy…

I’m still in shock.
So fam, wedding bells are ringing �� oh
THERE IS NOTHING GOD CAN NOT DO. DON’T STOP PRAYING. DON’T STOP BELIEVING. HE WILL DO IT IN HIS OWN TIME…

Although he is 76 years old, there are no indications that Pastor Adeboye fondly called Daddy G.O will be resigning soon. The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Saturday’s night, said God had not revealed to him yet who his successor would be.

He stated this at the ongoing ministers’ conference of the mission holding at the Redemption Camp, Mowe, Ogun State. The four-day annual conference is expected to come to a close this evening while the 66th annual convention will start on Monday and last for six days. RCCG is believed to be the biggest Pentecostal mission in Africa with branches in more than 100 countries around the world.

A 30-year-old auto mechanic, Sani Mohammed, who was recently arrested by the Niger state police command after a failed attempt to kidnap one Stella Agbachi, along Top Medical Road, Tunga, Minna, the state capital, says he ventured into crime because he was told kidnaping is a more lucrative business than car repairs.

Sani who hails from Zumba in the Shiroro Local Government Area of the state, said he was desperate to make money to meet his personal needs. He confessd to have carried out series of kidnappings.

“After hearing that kidnapping is a lucrative business where one can make a lot of money, I said to myself: let me try, whether I will succeed. After all, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. I was planning to carry it out but unfortunately, I found myself in the police net,” Sani said.

When asked if her husband was rich when they met more than 22-years-ago, the mum of four answered that he wasn’t, rather he had prospects.

At some point, she used to try and check her husband’s phone but it is too stressful.

Two days ago, former president Olusegun Obasanjo was welcomed warmly at the JFK airport, New York by members of the Cherubim And Seraphim church on arrival. Obasanjo who rocked the full regalia of the church as he mounted the pulpit, led a host of choristers in a parade during a programme yesterday.

The ex-president thrilled the congregation as the young choristers marched to the song ‘I remember when I was a soldier’.
