The thought of Suicidal Attempts which is an end result of a staged nurtured depression is a sardonic experience which was nurtured from the least thought of failure to the depressed mind.

Amina’s appointment has sparked outrage and condemnation, especially from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as other Nigerians.

Amina Zakari is to head a committee responsible for the national collation centre – the International Conference Centre – from where results of the Presidential election will be announced, INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu said during her inauguration.

But the condemnations over the development have continued to pour in, especially on social media with notable politicians such as the immediate past Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, ex-minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and the PDP taking the lead.

PDP described the appointment as “outright manipulation” and rejected it in entirety, the former Ekiti Governor, Fayose mocked INEC saying the commission should not only appoint Buhari’s niece but should also appoint one of Buhari’s children as Chairman.

According to happeningnownews.com, who cited Fayose, the ex-governor said, “Instead of INEC appointing, Amina Zakari, a blood relation (niece) of President Buhari, as the Chairperson of INEC Advisory Committee and Presidential election Collation Center Committee, why not just appoint one of the President’s children as INEC Chairman?”

A mother of one has reportedly lost her life after a high tension cable fell on her at her home in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

According to Rasheed Fatuga, a Facebook user who shared the story online, the woman who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, was seeing off a friend who came to pay her a visit at her home around Solebo estate in Aga Ikorodu, when the cable fell on her on Deceber 9th 2018.

The Presidential candidate of ACPN, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has expressed readiness to fight for the rights of Nigerians and eradicate poverty in the country.

She said this at a dinner in Lagos where Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, former president of Liberia, endorsed her presidential ambition.

During the dinner, which was organised by Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR), Ezekwesili narrated her age-long friendship with Sirleaf, part of which was her role as a senior adviser on economic reforms to the ex-Liberian president.

The ACPN presidential candidate explained that the exemplary leadership of Sirleaf showed that when “a woman stands up to say ‘I want to lead’, she is ready to serve.”

Yesterday, Nigerian singer Danny Young, called out Mavin Record’s Tiwa Savage for infringing on his copyright, alleging that the pop queen used parts of the content off his 2009 record, ‘Oju Tiwon’, to make her newly released single, ‘One’.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, the singer made an effort to show similarities between the two records. But rather than sympathy, Danny Young received heavy bashing from music fans who accused him of seeking attention.

In other to seek for more clarity and legal perspective on the allegations, NET spoke out to popular entertainment lawyer, Akinyemi Ayinoluwa who submitted that the accuser may actually have a case against Tiwa even though the lyrics in question is widely known as a commonly used Yoruba language proverb –O d’odun lan ri orogbo, o do’dun lan ri ahusa, o d’dodun lan ri omo obi lori igba– which when translated means “cash crops such as kola and walnuts are valuable every year”).

Akinyemi pointed out that the MTV EMAs winner also switched the pace and used a different key and as such could argue that there are disparities between both records.

But the legal expert also agreed that there were some similarities in the melody and complete sentence used by Danny Young where he sang, “O d’odun lan ri orogbo, o do’dun lan ri ahusa, o d’dodun lan ri omo obi lori igba, my life don better;’ the same lyrics clearly used by Tiwa Savage. He further said that if Danny’s own was actually an original creation, and its replication by the accused contributes value to her own creation, then the singer could snatch a favourable judgement.

“The similarities are strong enough, but again the lyrics were built on a popular proverbial saying which nobody can lay claim to. However, the manner with which he used it was quite original to him and unique, so if an average listener who has heard Danny Young’s before listens to this new track and can only cast back their mind to when they first heard it in 2009, that should be the objective test,” he said.

As Nigerian radio listeners come to terms with the sudden death of Tosyn Bucknor, one of the most beloved media personalities on air; reports reaching us have it that the University of Lagos law graduate succumbed to a major sickle cell crisis that struck her in the last three weeks.

Born Oluwatosin Abisona Bucknor on August 15 1981, Tosyn was born with the sickle cell disease and she battled with the condition all her life. She often spoke publicly and candidly about the struggles of living with sickle cell anaemia. She was not only a radio presenter, but she was also an all-around media professional, singer, songwriter, lawyer, actress and activist.

A colleague of hers (who requested not to be named as Inspiration FM where she worked had issued a statement declining to comment) told us exclusively that the last three weeks were the most challenging of her life which ultimately took her.

The Nigeria Police Force has announced that Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is still under probe for his connection to the gang that killed 33 people during a robbery attack in Offa, Kwara State in April.
Nine police officers and at least 24 others lost their lives when a group of around 30 armed robbers attacked Union Bank, Eco Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, First Bank, Zenith Bank and Ibolo Micro Finance Bank, as well as the Owode Police Station in Offa, Kwara State, on April 5, 2018.

After 22 suspects were arrested in connection to the robbery, Police authorities had paraded the main gang leaders as Ayoade Akinnibosun (aka, AY), Ibikunle Ogunleye (aka Arrow), Adeola Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez, and Niyi Ogundiran.
