I'll be as brief as possible.

I am a student in my 400l nw, things aren't so Rosey nor easy especially financially for me now.

Something happened this past weekend, i returned back from lectures with no dime on me, I left very early because I needed to read more, (exam things) my Elder bros travelled which I had no idea of, I live close by, (actually choose this institution because of his presence in the state) Truth is I am the type that usually keep hard times to myself, I only open up when I am choked, i hardly check on him because of negative energies i receive from his wife so I prefer communicating with him via phone, i keep my distance as possible as appropriate.

So I went to his house to check on him, i was totally broke and hungry, learnt from his wife that he traveled, asked her if she had anything, she said no money o, what she had, she wants to use it to go to the market to buy some stuff, I saw her writing a list and with some money, she was about going to market, I saw small Eva rubber red oil #900.

It hit me, I had just a little above the quantity of red oil she needed, and I hardly cook.

So I told her that instead of buying #900 in d market that I will bring the exact quantity she needs, but I just need 5h, that I am broke, I reasoned with her and pleaded that she do not see this wrongly that I am selling it to her, that its just an exchange, she said no p, I also pleaded with her not to tell my bros her husband which she also agreed.

We made the exchange, I got the #500 and gave her d oil she would have bought #900.

I just received a call from my elder bros yesterday, and he was very pissed? That y should I sell d oil to his wife?

I tried to explain but he won't listen, has even refused seeing me, honestly I am not happy right now, why will she disclose it to him? We had a pack?

As 2015 Elections drew nigh, Tinubu led the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, a dominant party in the Southwest, into an alliance with CPC, a predominantly northern party, and other parties into an alliance that birthed the APC.

The APC went into the 2015 elections with Buhari, a northerner, as candidate and subsequently won the election.

But that came at the expense of the then president, Goodluck Jonathan, a southerner.

So, against southern interest, and against every reminder of Buhari’s antecedents of incompetence, majority of Southwest voters helped Buhari to power.

And that was a southerner lost power through the help of southerners.

Now, as the 2023 elections approach, discussions are on, on who should succeed Buhari and ironically, the region who threw Southern interest to the winds in 2015 seem to be at the forefront, championing southern interest. They have tried to remind all who cared to listen that it won’t be good for southern interest if another Northerner succeeds Buhari.

And you are forced to ask them, “where was your knowledge of southern interest in 2015?”.

Surreptitiously, these folks seem to talk about southern unity and interest when it will Favour them. And when it doesn’t, then work against and call it “sophistication”.

But in 2023, it’s either the Southwest endorses the Southeast for the presidency which would unite the entire Southern Nigeria behind an Igbo presidency, or power will go back to the north. F***k Southern unity and interest.

This is because any political watcher who wants to realistic with himself, knows that a southwest Presidential candidate won’t have the votes to guarantee him victory.

Let’s check things out a little,The Southwest is not even a sure straight victory for him not to talk of the north where he might be squaring up against PDP’s northern candidate. So if the north does not vote for a Yoruba candidate then he’s gone because he’s an orphan in the south.

But not so with the PDP candidate. With PDP candidate likely coming from the north, PDP is sure of at least half of northern votes plus the votes of Southsouth and Southeast and the PDP northern candidate will be declared winner.

Another thing you need to consider is that in 2015 when APC won, almost all northern influential political power broker were in APC. From Atiku, to Kwankwaso to Saraki to Tambuwal and many more. While others who were not fully into politics like IBB and co, provided tacit support. But these men are back to the PDP and that means a lot. Except you wanna live in denial.

Now, in 2031, after PDP’s candidate’s likely 8 year rule, the PDP might justifiably want to give its ticket to an Igbo man. Now the Southwest, fearing that Power equation may not favor them if a Yoruba man insisted on the APC ticket, might concede the ticket to a northerner who they would hope would help them win an Igbo PDP candidate in the elections.

Now, let’s assume the northern APC candidate wins the Presidency against the Igbo man in 2031, then the Igbos will wait for another 8 years to exert their own revenge in 2039 by supporting another northerner to take the PDP ticket instead of a Yoruba candidate winning the election.

And that’s how the vicious cycle would continue ad infinitum until maybe Nigeria disintegrates or the South comes to its senses.

But there’s a shorter route out of the whole mess; and that’s by the Southwest throwing their weight behind the Southeast bid for the presidency in 2023. With that, Igbo men would emerge candidates of both APC and PDP and whichever party that wins, it would be victory for the southeast and Southern unity would be cemented and whenever it is the Yorubas’ turn for power, the Igbos will throw their weight behind them.

The Yorubas are much more open to negotiation than the Fulanis who are authoritative. They will listen to your plight and try to address it.

They are much more civilized than the Fulanis whose representative in the person of Buhari is finding grazing route in the 21st century. They will introduce developmental policies that will move the country forward irrespective of region.

I believe they have much more tendency to follow the rule of law and address the default in federal character created by this nepotic government.

They match the Fulanis in being cunning and are much more intelligent than the Fulanis. They will deal with the Fulani stealthily.

Economic downturn, worse Hdi, higher unemployment, nepotism, all round failure should make you have a logical rethink if you aren't blinded by hate. Or is this just a scare mongering strategy to deter the Southwest from presenting a candidate?

If so, where are your candidates from the East and South because pdp has had there convention and aspiring candidates have bared their ambition. Non from the East.

If you are hoping of contesting under APC then you are being unreasonable and hopelessly hopeful. Why? You have been in the PDP for so long yet they didn't consider you worthy enough to allow you contest under their platform. So why would the APC of yesterday trust you with the mandate? Secondly, you never laboured enmass (I repeat, enmass) to bring the APC to where it is today, or let me say your region is not a major shareholder in the party to be considered as strategic and so deserves compensation with the party ticket.

I am not saying I will support Tinubu or Osinbajo or any Yoruba candidate if they will be contesting against any Eastern or South South candidate in 2023, but I will definitely support a Yoruba candidate over another Fulani in 2023.

A lesser evil is manageable between two evils.

We are talking about power rotation to the south the way the north ensured power rotation in 2015 by co-opting Yoruba into their agenda at the expense of the south. What we are saying is that if the south MUST get power in 2023, then the south, all the south must rally around an Igbo presidency or southern presidency is dead on arrival. Yoruba either step down for Igbo or the north continues after Buhari. Isn't that clear enough to you? The Yoruba have nothing to leverage on. No southerner will back them and the north knows this since they have proven treacherous to the southern agenda. So you guys had better wake up before it''s too late.
