Washington (CNN) — President Donald Trump issued a message Tuesday to pharmaceutical company executives akin to one he delivered to auto executives last week: bring your production back to the United States and the Trump administration will lower regulations for you. In a "pharma" meeting in the Oval Office, the President told executives from companies such as Merck & Co. and Johnson & Johnson that they have done a "terrific job over the years" but that prices for drugs must come down. "So you have to get your companies back here. We have to make products ... We have to get rid of a tremendous number of regulations," Trump said. "I know you have some problems where you cannot even think about opening up new plants. You can't get approval for the plant and then you can't get approval to make the drugs." Dems delay committee vote on Sessions "We have no choice," the President added, sitting at a table surrounded by aides, Vice President Mike Pence and eight pharmaceutical executives. "For Medicare, for Medicaid, we have to get prices way down, so that's what we're going to be talking about. We're also going to be streamlining the process so that from your standpoint so that when you have a drug you can actually get it approved - http://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/31/politics/donald-trump-pharma-meeting/ cc : lalasticlala |

Former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, has
declared that he is a politician and will always
be a politician.
Speaking on Tuesday with Reuters after his
court hearing in London, Ibori said his
involvement in politics was for the good of his
people, adding that he was ready to lay down
his life.
According to the former governor, “What
happens in African politics – you are in it until
you die.
“I am a politician; I will always be a politician. I
play the politics in my party and in my country
for the good of my people.”
Ibori, who won another victory at a London
court, has signalled a possible political
comeback Nigeria.
After serving a 13-year jail term in a UK prison,
Ibori was released in December 2016
The former governor had earlier disclosed that
he would be returning to the country in a
“matter of days.”
Ibori’s media aide, Tony Eluemunor, made the
disclosure in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement which reads in part says, “After
all the speculations over when Chief James
Onanefe Ibori will return to Nigeria, Ibori himself
has now confirmed that he would be homeward
bound very soon.
“As soon as possible, may be in a matter of
days.
“Dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s in briefing
his lawyers may be the only thing standing
between Ibori now and his journey to Nigeria.
“For instance, there will be mention of the Ibori
London case this week Friday at the Southwark
London court for the judge to be fully informed
on what is happening with the disclosure
process and to ascertain if everybody convicted
in the Ibori and related cases will be appealing.” http://dailypost.ng/2017/02/01/im-politician-will-die-james-ibori/ |
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has declared that the Government House was not a bank where people go to collect money. Obaseki made this affirmation while receiving executive members, Women wing of the All Progressive Congress in the state, in Benin, the Edo State capital. According to him, “I don’t have money to give anybody; the money I have is to work for the people. “I can create money going by my experience as an investment banker; I can organise things and people must be ready to work.” The governor further told the women that the days had gone when politics was about money sharing. He added, “The question is what do you do with the political power. It is our level of commitment that gets us where we want to be. “People should be ready to work. We should prioritise and cut waste because our biggest problem is waste. “God chose me for a purpose to change things at this time and politics of money and sharing is not possible.” Obaseki further lauded the women in the state for their support during the 2016 governorship. He called on the women to partner the government in the development of the state, especially in the area of ensuring quality basic and technical education for their children http://dailypost.ng/2017/02/01/dont-money-give-anybody-obaseki-tells-edo-people/ |

The Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has slammed some politicians from the South Eastern part of the country, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, describing them as real enemies of Biafra. DAILY POST reports that ex-Senate President, Ken Nnamani, as well as former governors of Abia State and Old Anambra State, Orji Uzor Kalu and Jim Nnwobo, respectively, recently joined the APC. Reacting however, MASSOB National Director for Publicity, Samuel Edeson, in a statement in Enugu, said he aligned with the position of Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who accused the defectors of selfish pursuit. It added that the defectors had no political value in Igboland. MASSOB also slammed a particular defector whom it said was not useful to either the state or Ndigbo when he led the National Assembly. “They (Ndigbo) never benefited anything during his tenure as Senate President. These men are contract seekers that have no Igbo interest in mind. “Time has come when we will no longer accept these kind of men in Igbo land. We are going to mobilize all the genuine pro-Biafra agitators and Igbo youths against these selfish greedy politicians. “Who among these men that decamped to APC can beat his chest and boldly say that this is what I did for my people. Nobody will use Igbo land as battle field again like NPN/NPP in 1983. “The Fulani herdsmen killed our people in Nimbo Uzo-Uwani, killed in Awgu; Umuahia, Delta and other places and they did not see reasons to speak against these killings of innocent people. “They are political prostitutes. When we said last year that we are going to make this government ungovernable, they thought that we are going to fight them with arms, or going to the streets to protest. No, with our diplomatic moves, we have been able to achieve a lot,” said MASSOB. http://dailypost.ng/2017/01/31/political-prostitutes-massob-slams-nnamani-kalu-nwobodo-others-defecting-apc/ |
