OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI ON BEHALF OF NIGERIAN YOUTHS. President Muhammadu Buhari, I pray for your long life in good health, I pray for your success as our President, you were indeed a hero back in 2015. We saw new hope in you, we trusted you, we fasted and prayed for you to become our President, God answered our prayers and you emerged the winner of March 28th 2015 Election. We thank God for that success. I hope you know such success was achieved by the strong will of the youths. You made us gullible, you promised us a lot, all we get now are excuses. Things are becoming worst day by day, your government have no plans for the youths and young investors, your government lack listening ears to its cizitens, your government lack vision to curb unemployment. Rate of unemployment continue to increase rapidly, yet you're creating policies that will lay off more than 500,000 Nigerian from their work. Graduates have no hope of securing a job, you advised us to go to school, upon graduation you gave us sermon on skills acquisition, after learning these skills, you told us to pay huge amount of money to get registered if not, we get jailed. we can't set up a business legally in our country with 20K what a country. Sir. We are hungry and we're crying, the then the slogan was "suffering and smiling" but it now "suffering and crying". Is this a curse or a blessing that Nigerian Rice is now sold at #550 per mudu, maize and beans have triple their initial prizes, palm oil is now something else, sir. are we retrogressing or progressing? Mr. President sir. We cannot just because your culture is more of cattle rearing and farming become cattle rearers and/or farmers. Our footballers have to protest for their wages after winning a tournament, our minister of Youths and Sport said "Nigeria can never win world cup" he also said "We didn't except them (falcons) to win Awcon 2016" and yet he's still our minister. Some Corps members are yet to get their 19.8K December stipend while your salaries and that of your minister don't miss 25th. Sir. We're doubting your competency as our President, because no Country progress just on fighting corruption and terrorism. Please we want the change you promised us not the change of the promise you made for us. By: Abdullateef Lawal. Cc. All Nigerian youths Cc. All Nigeria Media |

Year 2016 experienced a lot of challenges. The #MannequinChallenge, #BidoungChallenge, the #IcebucketChallenge. This new one is weird and scary. It is called the #deadpose challenge. The #deadpose challenge involves people posing as if they were dead. According to internet folks, the weird and scary challenge began on Facebook. Believed to have originated from South Africa, internet users have described the new challenge as ‘satanic’, ‘evil’ and immoral. One of the creepiest of the poses was a young black man who posted a photo of himself with the noose around his neck as if he had died from hanging. Some South African twitter folks linked the evolution of the pose to the release of South African hip hop star, Molemo Maarohanye known as Jub Jub from prison. Jub Jub was convicted for culpable homicide in year 2012 after causing the death of four children during a drag racing accident that occurred in year 2010. He was released from prison on parole on January 5. Here are some of the #deadpose Challenge and some of the comments about it. wuzupnaija.com/south-africans-break-internet-with-dead-pose-challenge-check-out-the-scary-photos/

Victor Ezugwu, disclosed this when the Head of Sub Delegation of ICRC, Mr. Beat Mosimann, visited him at the Maimalari cantonment in Maiduguri. Ezugwu said that the cleared suspects were released in about seven batches after been cleared of having links with Boko Haram . He said, “We are keeping this on the regular release because the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. "The ICRC wants us to collaborate in the area of welfare for our detainees and we have assured them that we are going to continue doing our best interns of welfare in accordance with the international practice. "Our approach in handling detained suspects is multi agency so what we do is that we collaborate with NGOs so that once there is gap in what we are doing they will tell us. "In terms of feeding, we are providing solid Nigerian foods for the detainees; good food supplement that would enhance their wellbeing. "Access to exercise and the best out of accommodation. We are hoping that things will get better in 2017.’’ Mosimann had earlier said that ICRC has mapped out several programmes in 2017 to assist IDPs who would soon be returning back to their respective liberated communities. He said, “We have discussed with the army on issues of protection of especially that of the detainees which was part of our mandate to see how we can improve on that. "It is part of our mandate, which was stipulated in Geneva convention, to assist wounded persons not just soldiers but anybody who is wounded in a conflict situation. “Our job is purely humanitarian. The humanitarian situation had quite improved. We thank the army for supporting the people in liberating their communities and ICRC will support this people to go back.” NAN punchng.com/army-releases-1250-boko-haram-suspects/ /2iaU080 |

MY FATHER'S ADVICE TO ME WHEN I WAS SEARCHINGFOR A WIFE... WOW #By Jerry John Rawlings The Former Ghana President My son, I will be very raw and sincere with you. Do not worry about the size of a woman buttock or breast but worry about the size of her heart and brain. Worry about the size of her love and endurance. Because after 5 or 10 years, it will not be about the breast or buttock. As you can see, your mum now has a flat chest and almost flat buttock but we still live together happily, I still love her and she still love me. Be careful of a woman that loves money. I mean the woman that talks ‘every time’ about her hair, cloths, shoes, bags panties and make-ups. Marriage is not all about these things. Without make-up, cloths, shoes and panties a good marriage will still stand but without love, no marriage can stand. When I got married to your mum, I didn’t have a car or house of my own. I was not even educated. But I had dreams and she appreciate and support me. Any woman that does not support your dream is not worth thinking-a- minute about. There are women that will see your dreams better than you, you are lucky if you find one. My son, open your ears very well, there is a kind of woman you should avoid, do not make a mistake to marry this kind of woman or you will regret it. I mean a woman that always has bad things to say about everyone. If you see this kind of woman, run away. One of the worst kind of woman you can marry is the one that complains about everything. If you buy this, she says you should have bought that, if you do this, she said you should have done that. Please stay away! Most women enjoy talking but the one who talks for two hours and listen for two minutes is a potential ‘bomb’. Be wise Be very careful of a pretending partner. A pretending woman is not hard to know. She will always know everything about everything, she will be careful. Just close your eyes and open your Heart and you will see! No woman is perfect. If you see a woman who believes in your dream , who respects you who is committed and who is not all about herself alone then don’t let her go. But remember, you must not be a wayward man. I have trained you! If you find a good woman but you are a bad man, you wont have a good marriage! I won’t pick a wife for you but I have given you my advice. When you find her, bring her for my blessings. May you find a woman that will increase you not decrease you.. |

A Catholic Priest has spoken out about some church doctrines which should be amended to suite the African culture. Rev. Father Gabriel Ngbe of Akwangwa Catholic church, in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, has canvassed the need for the Church to incorporate some good aspects of African culture in its Doctrine. The Catholic priest said that polygamy should be Accepted in the Church because of those that have more than one wife. His words:"The Whiteman that brought Christianity to us mixed the religion with his culture and Africans just accepted it like that at the expense of our culture." The clergyman made the assertion on Sunday while celebrating Acculturation Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Akwanga. Ngbe insisted that the Catholic doctrine should be amended, especially in African Catholic Churches in order to accommodate every member of the Church. “If we did not incorporate parts of our culture into The way we worship God, our culture would in no Distant time go into extinction ,” he said. Rev. Father Ngbe explained that local foods should Henceforth be used for communion in Catholic Church instead of using products imported from Europe. The priest also said meaningful Nigerian names Should be given to people during the Baptism and Confirmation in Catholic Churches as against using "English names". He urged Nigerians to imbibe the habit of wearing local dresses during weddings as well as using local languages for Mass. He said that anybody who practiced polygamy before accepting Christ should be given equal treatment in the Church with those that have only one wife. “It is better to have many wives at home than to have only one and yet have many girl friends and lovers outside,” the priest stressed. Father Ngbe commended the Yoruba people for incorporating their culture in the way they practiced both Christianity and Islam and urged others to emulate them. www.olufamous.com/2016/12/better-to-marry-more-wives-than-have.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&m=1

A Palestinian youth has been shot and killed by Israeli soldiers during a protest east of the al-Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said. Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesman of the Gaza-based health ministry, told reporters on Friday that Mohamed Abu Saada, 26, was killed and three others were injured by Israeli gunfire. Witnesses said dozens of Palestinian youths gathered close to the fence between the eastern Gaza Strip and Israel to protest about the Israeli blockade imposed on the coastal enclave since 2007. They said that the young men threw stones at the soldiers and their armoured vehicles, while the soldiers fired tear gas, rubber bullets and live ammunition to disperse them. Human rights groups have accused Israeli forces of unlawful killings and using lethal force in situations where non-lethal measures would have been appropriate. Palestinian leaders say the assailants have acted out of desperation over the collapse of peace talks in 2014 and Israeli settlement expansion in occupied territory. The Israeli army said: "During a violent riot adjacent to the security fence in the central Gaza Strip, dozens of rioters breached the buffer zone, approached and damaged the security fence and attempted to infiltrate Israel." "Forces fired shots in order to distance and disperse rioters," a military spokeswoman told AFP news agency. www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/11/israeli-forces-kill-palestinian-protester-gaza-161118175124803.html

The Sultan, who was deposed by late General Sani Abacha's government in 1996, was the father of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki who is detained by President Muhammad Buhari’s government. The retired colonel has been in detention since 2015 over allegations of diverting funds meant for arms purchases into the presidential re- election bid of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. Sultan Dasuki succeeded late Sultan Abubakar III. He was the first Sultan to emerge from the Buhari house of Usman Danfodio royalty of the Sokoto Caliphate. When he was deposed, Sultan Dasuki was succeeded by the late Muhammad Machido, son of Sultan Abubakar III. Machido, however, died in a plane crash in 2006, and his younger brother, Sa'ad Muhammad ascended the throne. Dasuki was born on December 31, 1923. He is married with many wives, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His last public statement was in London in July 2015, following a search of his home in Sokoto by the State Security Service after they arrested his son. Speaking to the BBC, he expressed surprised the SSS had invaded his home just because the government had an allegation against his son. He said he didn’t know how they got access to the house, adding he heard about the matter for the first time but later called and was briefed on the development. "Yes it is against my son, but I am different from him. My house is different from his house. If the government has anything against him, let them check his house in Abuja and not my own house.” Former military administrator Yakubu Muazu removed the late Dasuki from the throne. Muazu had summoned the Emir to the Government House for an “Emergency Meeting” as the Emir left his palace in Sokoto, Mobile Policemen took over his Palace while his aides were temporarily detained at a Govt House. The deposed Emir was transported first to Yola and later to Zing in Taraba state where he commenced a life in exile. The Abacha government accused his a variety of infractions, which included allegations that he was traveling outside of Nigeria without official permission, meeting foreign dignitaries and interference in political events. A source told SaharaReporters that the detained former NSA was temporarily released two weeks ago to visit his ailing father, but he stoutly refused to accept any temporary release to visit his father saying he would not accept any short of unconditional release as ordered by the ECOWAS court. Mamman Daura, an influential member of President Buhari’s kitchen cabinet, is married to the late Sultan’s daughter and had tried prevailing on the younger Dasuki to accept the deal but he declined. The former Sultan will be buried later today according to Muslim rites. saharareporters.com/2016/11/15/former-sultan-and-father-detained-national-security-adviser-dasuki-dies |
