Dangote puts his Abuja mansion up for sale as he buys a majority stake in Arsenal

AFRICA'S richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote has revealed that he has bought English Premiership side Arsenal and is putting his Abuja mansion on sale for $30m to help pay for it.

Over recent years, Alhaji Dangote has made it clear that buying Arsenal, popularly known as the Gunners is one of his main investment goals in the UK.  Valued at about $15bn by Forbes Magazine, Alhaji Dangote launch an unsuccessful bid to purchase a major stake in the club in 2010.

Alhaji Dangote has put his $30m mansion in Abuja for sale to move to the UK, pointing out that he wants to move abroad to be able to watch Arsenal play games. He is yet to reveal details of how much the deal cost or what percentage of Arsenal he has purchased under the arrangement.

Now, Alhaji Dangote is worth nearly eight times as much as he was when he tried to buy the team originally.  Back in 2010 he wanted to purchase a holding in the Gunners when former director Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith was selling her stock but was not successful.

Arsenal’s current majority shareholder is American tycoon Stan Kroenke, who has a 66.64% holding in the company and remains committed to the club for the long term. Uzbek magnate Alisher Usmanov controls around 30% and has also expressed no desire to offload any of his shares.

Over the last 10 years, Arsenal has been a struggling club, unable to compete with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United for the English Premier League. Arsenal's lack of deep pockets has meant his has been unable to put up any serious challenge with regards to the Premiership title.

CareerToday Is Your Day - Habu Dawaki. Stop Flaming And Blaming by MrAJQ(op):
“Yesterday is a cancelled cheque,
tomorrow is a promissory vote.
Today is the only cash you have,
so spend it wisely” – kim lyons

Today is a brand new day. There
is never been one like it, there
will never be another like it.
Yesterday is gone, today is a new
beginning.

Everyday is a great
day. Today will be great if you
make it so. Don’t bring
yesterday’s miseries into today’s
happiness. Don’t invite
tomorrow’s worries into today’s
joy.

Don’t settle for less than what
today has to offer you. If you
bargain less, today will not give
you more. Today and indeed life
will only give you what you ask
for.

Dream big dreams, think big
thoughts. There are no shortages
of ideas today. Make up your
mind to win today. You can
create an exciting future by
making your day great and taking
massive actions on your dreams.

Yesterday’s opportunities might
have gone but today brings new
ones. Today does not care about
yesterday’s failures. Today only
thinks of the many chances you
have.

Today favours no one. Each of us

You have 24 hours to think good

stop flaming and regretting, have
a new beginning, feel good and
be happy, smile and laugh,
correct yesterday’s mistakes, to
run and win.

Don’t make your today look like

you won’t have a tomorrow. What
you do today will determine the

PoliticsJibrin Advises Adeosun To To Halt The Payment Of Reps Running Cost by MrAJQ(op): 6:41am On Oct 07, 2016
The former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Thursday, advised the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, to halt the payment of running costs to members of the House.

Jibrin claimed that the money was not used for the services of the House but “diverted into private pockets.”

The federal lawmaker from Kano State, who was suspended last week by the House, also called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to shun further invitations by the House to appear for investigative hearings and other activities of the House.

But the House dismissed Jibrin’s call again.

The Chief Whip of the House, Mr. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, said the suspended legislator was speaking “rubbish.”

Jibrin stated, “I am also demanding that the Minister of Finance, the Accountant General of the Federation, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Clerk to the National Assembly, in exercising my right as a citizen of Nigeria, should stop with immediate effect, further payments of running cost allowances to members of the House of Representatives.

“As an insider, I know that most of such monies have been and are diverted into private pockets.

“There is no law in our country that is intended to protect corruption. So, the continuous payment of such money negates the spirit and genuine intention of establishing such laws in the first place.

“I am also calling on Nigerians, companies, ministries, departments and agencies to shun invitations from the House of Representatives until the House allows for a transparent investigation of individual and systemic corruption allegations in collaboration with ongoing external investigations by the police and anti-graft agencies.”

Jibrin alleged that the reason the attempt by the House to probe a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, failed was because a senior member of the House frustrated the investigation.

In keeping with his promise, Jibrin said he had begun to forward the names of members in batches to anti-graft agencies on how they allegedly misused the running costs.

The lawmaker said he was prepared to serve the “harshest punishment” if his allegations were proven to be wrong.

In his reaction, Ado-Doguwa, who argued that Jibrin’s suspension was in order, told The PUNCH that members expected that Jibrin would keep reeling out more allegations, in spite of being on suspension.

He stated, “Let him say whatever rubbish he wants to say.

“I am sure Nigerians are now realising the truth in Jibrin’s stupidity.

“His suspension serves him right. We could not have done anything less.”

Imam Imam, Sokoto: Tambuwal lays foundation for a new school in Gudu, the only LGA without senior secondary school in Nigeria

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at the weekend laid the foundation for the construction of a new secondary school in Balle, headquarters of Gudu Local Government, with it closing the chapter for the town being the only LGA without a secondary school in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event attended by development partners and religious and traditional rulers from within and outside Sokoto, Tambuwal said the his administration embarked on the project as the area had remained the only one out of the 23 local governments of the state without a Senior Secondary School.

“The school will be a co-educational one, both for boys and girls. We have decided to make it a unity school and will attract students from all parts of Nigeria and neighbouring Niger republic. Students of the school would be taught in both English and French,” Tambuwal said.

According to him, the contractor had since been paid the required thirty per cent as mobilisation fee.

He said the project would be completed in the next four months, while the work commenced about two months ago.

The governor also promised to make funds available for the completion of the project on schedule, and according to specifications.

“Education is key to success both in this world and in the hereafter. The school is aimed at improving enrolment, retention and completion of students across the state. It is also aimed at improving equal access to education for both boys and girls in the state.

“As the adage goes, when you educate a girl, you educate the society but when you educate a boy, you educate only an individual,” he added.

Tambuwal called on the contracting firm to complete the work on schedule, warning that compromise by supervising engineers would not be condoned.

Speaking at the occasion, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, commended the state government for embarking on the project.

He stressed the need for all children to have equal opportunities to education.

While describing illiteracy as a “disease” which forces people to follow others blindly, Abubakar decried street begging by some children, saying such obnoxious act was unIslamic.
The Sultan urged wealthy individuals to provide scholarship to the children of less privileged.

State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Jabbi Kilgori, said the project consists of 12 classrooms, laboratories, library, hostels, staff quarters and clinics, among others.

PoliticsBuhari Welcomes More Investment And business partners At Ongoing UN Meeting by MrAJQ(op): 6:32am On Sep 22, 2016
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday applauded the long history of economic relationship between his country and France on the one hand, and Nigeria and Switzerland on the other.

At separate bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the ongoing 71st United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America, the Nigerian leader welcomed more investment and economic partnerships.

“Nigeria is a fertile ground for handsome return on investments.

“Apart from your country’s close relationship with us, you have the same with most of our neighbours.

“We seek more collaboration, particularly in agriculture, mining and security,” President Buhari told Francois Hollande of France.

A spokesman for President Buhari, Femi Adesina, said that the President further briefed his French counterpart on the Presidential Committee on the North East, which he described as a one-stop mechanism on development partnership for a zone that had been ravaged in the over six years of insurgency by Boko Haram insurgents, and which needed urgent rebuilding.

Responding, President Hollande pledged that France would not only fully engage with Nigeria on different fronts, but would also provide humanitarian assistance in the North East.

“We will invest in Nigeria, we believe in her,” the French President said.
At another meeting with President Johann Schneider-Ammann of Switzerland, President Buhari sought his counterpart’s cooperation on speedy repatriation of Nigeria’s money stashed in that country, stressing that Nigeria needed such resources, particularly for infrastructure.

With the two countries having agreed on projects to which the returned funds would be deployed, President Schneider-Ammann promised quick action, as soon as the draft agreement was signed.

He also pledged consolidation of mutual trade relationships, infrastructural development as well as support in training and equipping of the Nigerian military.

the child.

Although born a woman, Beatie had his breasts

The 34-year-old says he retained his female sex

He conceived with sperm from a donor and was

Despite opposition from family, friends and the

NYSCOpen Letter To DG Of NYSC Over Plan To Carry Out Two POP For Corps Members by MrAJQ(op): 11:02am On Sep 19, 2016
LETTER TO THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF NYSC:

*'DON'T START THE WAR'*

I write as a law abiding citizen of this great country to inform and educate our father, the amiable Director General of the National Youth Service Corps of the consequences and unforseen malady that may not likely occur but also cause and have every tendency of break-up and disfiguration to NYSC as a scheme.

Sir, it is no longer news that the current Batch B 2015 corps members are likely to wind-up their National Youth Service on different dates as stated in the circular released on Sept. 16th, 2016. This is a great threat and injustice to the law abiding graduates serving their beloved fatherland.

Going by 365 days calendar, NOVEMBER 2015-NOVEMBER 2016 is 13months and should not be miscalculated as a year (a rent secured in January expires December, not next January).
In line with the above, the calculation made by NYSC is not only fallacious but mock in psychological realm.

Dear Sir, you will recall that both stream I and II(BATCH B-2015) were mobilized on the same date as arranged by the senate, but were dissever due to the incapacity of camps to accommodate the mobilized figures.

On this note, I wish to bring to your hearing the likely consequences if the decision remains fixed;

1. NYSC Scheme will lose its true value as prospective graduates are likely to be disappointed once not mobilized with the first stream.

2. The current BATCH B (STREAM II) are in total danger, harassment and helplessness due to the expired I.D card starting from October 6th, 2016. And violence might wage war against the the two streams on the said date.

3. Students could go extra miles in order to be in the first stream due to this first-come first-served generating law and this should not be.

4.Parents and guardians would no longer believe or have trust in NYSC due to the unbalanced calculation and time consumed factor.

5. There had never been a time in the history of National Youth Service (since established by Gen. Yakubu Gowon in 1970s) when two streams of the same Batch had POP on different dates. This is a tradition which we need to maintain and follow for this scheme to remain meaningful and helpful as set up.

To conclude, I wish to remind you that the Batch B, stream I enjoyed a total break of November and December after they left the camp in November which was not given to the stream II as both streams resumed at their various Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) on the same date (January, 2016).
In the light of the above, an injury to one is an injury to all.

On this note I say, NYSC MUST NOT FALL, OUR HEROES LIVE ON!

NIGERIANS, say NO to separate POP for Batch B. 2015 and thereafter!
