A) technically, a country going through war CANNOT enter Nato, its well written in their rules and reguations.
B) if it was remotely possible for Ukraine to join, then yes that would mean that one of their members is being attacked, and they (Nato) would be obligated to defend that country... aka directly go to war with Russia.
