How many months will it take to service the HP?

Is the vehicle tokunbo ( brand new foreign used).

I
How sure are you about the vehicle? performance wise, if its naija used.

Why not do this?

Ask the person to allow you do rental for two weeks. This will enable you to see how the car performs. ( if its naija used)

The two weeks is a test of your ability, you would have to forgo two weeks of your savings to test-run.

NB: Do not pay money in advance on HP. Do it weekly going forward ( that's worst case). and not monthly, you are going to need funds when you start.

Offline trips r wat really gives money in Abj. Fares on uber n taxify r ridiculously low given the comfort of the rides involved.

Let's run a weekly scenario

HP- 25k
You- 25k
Fuel- 20k

Net- 70k.

That's a tall order for a beginner. So start from rental, so that you can learn the ropes.
Thanks a lot for your feedback, I appreciate.

can I get a Clean EOD 2004 for less than or at 1M? (tokunbo)

Mr draey.

Please answer these questions.

Is your work a govt job or private.?

Are you familiar with the routes in Abuja? I'm not asking weda you know the roads, google maps will help you out?

I am asking weda you know where
things happen per time as regards rider movement/influx.

e.g if you are in Gwarinpa around 6-7pm ,then you should try n move out n drive back to wuse 2, cos movement @ DT tym is inward bound n not outward anymore.

Also on Fridays, people move out of Abj, cos sat n sun, no govt activity. So where the airport hussle is brewing , you nid to know.

Or try n move to 3rd avenue, though that MIT b a tad risky cos 3rd n 1st avenue r always on lockdown wt traffic in d evenings
3rd avenue esp around H medix.

Cos HP is a ticking time bomb DT you HV to defuse every week.

To do transport biz on HP , u HV to hit the ground running. and if you are newbie, you can NEVER hit the ground running (making the required funds to service your HP weekly.)

So don't b in a haste to quit your job.

Look at the pros and cons, do you have a principal that is considerate n might overlook one week or two weeks default.

Cos YES, you are going to default, you need a principal that is considerate and patient.

in these game, there are a lot of variables you won't see except you start.

Answer all these, then we pick up from there.
Its a private job-bank to be precise

To a large extent yes I can navigate abuja routes, not all though.

I reside at Asokoro and as for rider influx/movement, not so much but I believe I can get help from colleagues/ex-colleagues who are into the business

As regard the HP I can come up with down payment that can cover a 2months or 3

Truth is, the HP is what I am a bit concerned about, although the agreement will be for a monthly return

CareerRe: Please Help! My Former Employer Demands I Refund A Month Salary... by MrDraey(m): 8:18am On Aug 04, 2017
The only money u are refunding is one month "basic salary"

Go through the breakdown of your pay package or payslip, it's there.

You may be earning 100k however your basic might be 20k or even less. That's what you will refund not the total 100k

please i am just pissed off, and i need genuine advice from all especially lawyers. I started working with my former employer 14th April 2016 as an Audit officer and resigned 30th June 2017. All through my stay there, i did my best but had to leave because i got a better offer. now they are threatening to take a legal action against me should i fail to refund them a month salary for not giving them a month notice.

NOTE: while i planned to resign, my compliance manager resigned after a month notice and they offered to transfer me to there head office and double my salary but i had to go because i had already collected my employment letter from my new employer.

now what do i do, do i refund or not?

EducationRe: Common Mistakes In English That Might Embarrass You by MrDraey(m): 9:30am On Feb 09, 2017
revert
verb
rɪˈvəːt/
1.
return to (a previous state, practice, topic, etc.).
"he reverted to his native language"
synonyms: return, go back, come back, change back, retrogress, regress, default; More
2.
INDIAN
reply or respond to someone.
"we texted both Farah and Shirish, but neither of them reverted"
2romantic:
There are many commonly misused, misspelled, and mispronounced words in English. I will try to mention, to the best of my knowledge and experience, the most commonly abused words here.

HEARING: The word HEAR is a verb. The incorrect use of hearing is usually over phone communication for example “I am not hearing you’’ This is wrong. The correct way to say this is: “I cannot hear you’’

There are legal uses of the word though. There is the noun hearing which means the ability to perceive sounds. e.g. There are people who have very acute hearing.

Also, another noun form of hearing means an opportunity to state one’s case e.g. I think I had a fair hearing in court.

ATE: As we all know, ate is the past tense of eat. The problem with this word for most people is not so much in the use as in the pronunciation.

Very many people pronounce the word as “ETE’’ as in TETE, whatever that means.

The correct pronunciation of this word is ATE as in HATE without the “H’’

It might be embarrassing to mispronounce this simple word in public.

REVERT: Haven’t we all seen it in email correspondences, “Please Revert’’ or in some cases, “Revert Back’’.

Contrary to what many think, revert doesn’t mean reply.

Revert means return to (a previous state, practice etc.) For example, “You look so much better now that you are on a diet; please don’t revert to eating junk food’’.

If revert is used correctly as above, it would suffice on its own and not require the inclusion of “Back’’ as in “Revert back’’ as this would be redundancy.

MISCHIEVOUS: When someone is full of mischief, that person is said to be mischievous. People know this already but the problem with this word is the pronunciation.

The word is pronounced MIS-CHIEVIOUS by many. Blink and you miss it. Did you spot the difference? Yes, the letter “I’’. There is no letter “I’’ after the letter “V’’ and there isn’t supposed to be one, not in the spelling and definitely not in the pronunciation.

DEFINITELY: Definitely means beyond doubt. The problem with this word for many is not in the usage or the spelling, but like in the previous word, the problem is in the pronunciation.

This word is pronounced by many as DEF-I-NATE-LY.

It should instead be pronounced as it is written. DEF-I-NITE-LY.

PRONUNCIATION: This list would not be complete without this commonly mispronounced word. (No pun intended)

Pronounce is a verb and the noun form of it is pronunciation.

I believe the origin of the problem with this word is the disparity in the spelling of the verb and the noun.

Many people already know the word pronounce and they know how to spell it, so they probably just apply the modification from pronounce to pronounciation directly which is wrong. The correct spelling does not have the second “O’’.

The correct spelling and pronunciation is PRO-NUN-CI-A-TION. I reiterate, no pun intended.

So, to avoid embarrassment, please take note of these words and correct yourself appropriately.

BusinessRe: GTB Just Ripped Me Off My #4,500, Fellow Nairalanders Pls Don't Fall Victim! by MrDraey(m): 10:07am On Oct 06, 2016
This is no rip-off. It's a CBN policy. Once u exceed that 500k a day on savings account, an additional withdrawer attracts 3% (on that amount u withdrew)
chigodo:
I'm aware that #4,500 is not that much but trust me, in this economic recession, every kobo counts!, hence I've decided to share this experience, so as to prevent others from falling victim.

On the 20th of September (last month), I used my GTB ATM card to withdraw #150,000 in the morning, which of course is the maximum amount I can withdraw a day. Later in the day, I needed more cash for another business. So having exhausted my ATM daily limit, I moved to the banking hall and withdraw another #500,000 across the counter, which is also the daily limit for a savings account. The next day, I got a debit alert of #4,500. So I went back to the bank for explanations, they said its 3% of the #150,000 I withdrew with my ATM.

Here are my questions begging for answers;

1. If the #150,000 I withdrew earlier in the day was supposed to affect the #500,000, why didn't they tell me that this withdrawal will attract extra charges?, so I'll decide whether I want to go ahead or not. Which is the practice in other banks.

2. When you want to withdraw more than the daily limit from the ATM, they will inform you that the daily limit has been exceeded and therefore the transaction cannot continue, so since I used fast track, why was I denied of this vital information?

3. There was a time I wanted to transfer some amount of money from this same GTB account, they told me that the maximum I could transfer was one million naira, why did they deliberately refuse to inform me this time around?

4. Isn't 3% just unreasonably too high for such charges?, Remember it could have been a bigger amount involved. Imagine 3% of ten million naira.

5. Could it be that GTB is now stealing from their customers by tricks??

Pls mods I don't know if this is the appropriate section for this thread, help move to the right section and help promote this thread so that others will understand the reasons for some of these numerous charges we see. We might be saving someone of this unnecessary stress.
